Ha!
I cannot BELIEVE they've let me use that title!
Ladies and gentlemen, the collection I've been promising you, the book that scoops up all those little short stories and provides you with some brand new ones, has been unleashed. There won't be a Spoiler Zone post because it's not one of the "book" books, but even so, try to limit the amount you give away about the endings.
Of the new stories included, I'm finding it hard to pick a favourite. The Horror Writers' Halloween Ball is the most out-and-out comedy of the lot, but Across A Dark Plain is a WESTERN, for god's sake, and it was SO much fun changing my writing style slightly to convey that mood.
But I think Get Thee Behind Me, Bubba Moon is probably my favourite. Much like The End of the World (which is also collected here), it's told from the point of view of an outsider, in this case a middle-aged American man. I didn't mean it to be quite so long, but it grew from a short story to a novella before I knew what was happening. The tone of this one is different, too — until a certain pair of intrepid detectives wander in with their bickering and their jokes...
Anyway, I hope you like it. I hope you ALSO like the sample chapter from The Dying of the Light. It is VERY well written, if I do say so myself.
Oh, and speaking of TDOTL, tomorrow I shall be revealing an awesomely cool limited edition alternative cover.
And it ROCKS.

«Oldest ‹Older 201 – 400 of 4344 Newer› Newest»Who's outcome are you most looking forward to? Can't decide between Tanith or China.
Elleni, this is not an argument, it is a debate. It's friendly. If this was an argument, several insults would have been thrown by now and I'd probably have vanished. Conflict on this blog is not good for me and I often choose to avoid it.
Charlie - China. Sorrows has always been one of my favourite characters.
Though, I am rather interested to see what Tanith will be facing...
I really like Darquesse. She's ace. I feel sorry for her really...
I want a beech fight between China and Tanith to happen. It has to happen.
IwantTanithtobedChinabecausetheyareoneofmyotpsandweallknowthatbothofthembendbothwaysanywayandijustreallyshipthembecausemortalcoilmostly
I'm not obeying a no swearing rule, to hell with it-Zaffy
Anyone got any predictions?
For me, I think it's just gonna start with someone who has been in the series for ages being discovered completely torn apart.
Woah - I don't hate Valkyrie. O_O I don't particularly like her, but I realise that she has, to use your phrase, vices and virtues, and there are plenty of good things about her. :)
Also - yes, she is not 'just a psychopath'. Not one is 'just a(n)' anything, and I sincerely apologise for making that mistake.
However, she is a psychopath, and yes, she's curious. That makes her dangerous.
It's like with zombies. There's a chance of zombies being revived and becoming people again, but in a zombie apocalypse, you'd kill them, because if you weigh up the two options, less life is probably lost if you kill them and so survive.
Darquesse is a person, and she has value as a person, but if she's going to destroy the world then if there's nothing else we can do we should kill her. Not that I would ever kill her if I had the chance. I'm bad with definites.
I also don't believe that anyone is evil. Not even psychopaths are evil. It's not their fault their bodies don't produce enough amygdala any more than it is a disabled person's fault that they can't walk.
Of course Stephanie isn't purely good. But she's not a psychopath, because she can empathise with people.
And also, she did that when she wasn't a proper person, so I'm giving her the benefit of the doubt, but not completely.
And - ehhhhh, I may have to think out my word choice.
And - identical twins are clones of each other, are you saying one of them isn't a proper person?
Also, if a person were a clone, of course they would be a proper person.
(Not like Star Wars clones - they have some of their genetics altered with so they aren't proper people. True clones are genetic copies, and they are as much the person as the original person was.)
And of course you can. IDENTICAL TWINS.
Well I personally think the ending is not going to be happy.
They could stop the machine with Ravel....
I don't know what will happen...I might have AOH but I haven't read the extract yet because I'm reading it in order. (Its Ace So Far!)
My only presumptions for book 9 is Ravel stops machine going bad and everyone dies.
Ahhh, good old Mortal Coil. Remnants seeking to take all our heroes souls and unleash Darquesse upon the world.
Seems like such a peaceful time now.
Such a rule would be redundant, as most people would ignore it. Part of the reason so many people adore this place is the distinct lack of rules and laws here; we get to be who we want to be, without rules to tell us otherwise. Sometimes there is conflict, true, but there is always someone there to pick up the pieces and glue us all back together.
...I'd let you read my head-canons for this final book, but my friend is still refusing to talk to me because of my last one. She was distraught, haha.
Hoping Ravel has a huge part to play in the last book too.
Sorry, I tend to ignore people when I'm ranting . . .
*waves to everyone*
*has not predictions*
*I just don't generally predict :P*
*not sure why*
*logs it in my head to analyse later*
*is still waiting for someone to say "A no swearing rule? Fuck yeah!"*
:P
@Mushroom: Eh. There are roleplaying rules.
We did have a rule against swearing once. It caused a lot of arguing, I think. :P
I look back at this first book now after all I've read and can't help but laugh almost at how peaceful it was back then. How calm. My friend has started reading the series (he's taking soo long!) And I'm being reminded constantly that all the drama that broke me is in the most recent books.
@Elleni: Identical twins have the same genes. They are exact genetic copies (clones) of each other.
The only differences between them are environmental factors.
If I'm wrong, blame my biology teacher, but you'll have to prove to me that I am wrong, thank you. :P
@Elleni: Love you more. :) *hugs*
No predicting seems very calming haha.
What about favourite characters everyone? Aside from Val & Skulduggery though.
Okay, before I say anything else:
Numerical identities are like bar codes for people. To be numerically identical is impossible, because, like, you can only have one of anything. It's a really difficult concept to define...
And identical twins are qualitatively identical, but not numerically...
It's a philosophical concept and if you don't understand it, this whole debate is going to flop. And my explanations are terrible... Perhaps Google it?
@Elleni: Love you MORE THAN MOST. :)
And - yeah haha. XD XD
@Charlie: I don't really do favourites. :)
@Mushroom: Of course. I agree.
(I don't understand the words you're using, but I'm grasping the concept in the same way that I've spent all my reading years of my life reading words I don't understand and knowing what they mean through context.)
But Stephanie and Valkyrie aren't numerically identical either, and they're not trying to be. They're like identical twins except they both want the same life.
Hmm..fav characters:
China
Darquesse
Tanith
Not in any particular order
Star, I'm really sorry but... You're not understanding what I mean. It's this notion that they're both attempting to be the same person in a numerical sense, though said person has already become someone of the past. And my whole argument regarding Stephanie and Valkyrie relies on philosophical theories... Perhaps I should just drop this...
(I'll reply to the rest in a minute, I'm eating and editing at the moment...)
Darquesse is my all time favourite character from every series ever.
Hey Draggie!
My phone keeps trying to call you a druggie.
How are you?
Hey Dragona!
(*And then pronouncing the words all wrong when I use them verbally. :P
I still use all these words like 'liable' because they're in my head and when I'm speaking they just come out when they're needed and they fit into context perfectly, but I don't ACTUALLY know what they mean . . . but I guess you can't ever completely define a word. Like when we were in the queue for breakfast in Paris and me and C were discussing a French word and she was like "I understand it, but what's the English equivalent?" and my French teacher (who's Spanish and is teaching French to English kids. I have total respect for her. O_O) said that often with language, it wasn't about pinpointing each individual word, it was just about understanding what things mean, so we were like ohhhhh okay.
And now I kind of use that. :P
Although I still like pinpointing words. English words as well, I mean. Because words are interesting.
CLARABELL!
Kenspeckle... :'(
I'm fine thanks, Silente. You?
I really want Stephanie/Valkyrie/Darquesse to die. Preferably in a very explosive manner, with a hint of humour.
Like being shot in the face by a spoon fired from a rocket launcher. That would be perfect.
Oh man, Kenspeckle. That hurt so much.
Strange choices for me. Billy-Ray Sanguine, Dexter Vex & The Black Cleaver.
@Mushroom: Well, then they're both stupid. Of course neither of them can be the person they're trying to be.
Like I said.
But Stephanie's closer than Valkyrie is, and also . . .
She just wants to live her life, you know? That's who she is. She's Stephanie and she has her family and she kind of developed and grew with that family relationship, and Valkyrie just dipped in when she felt like it.
Like - my mum's always told me that you can't expect friendship to just happen. You have to work at it. And Valkyrie didn't put the effort into that family relationship, she just kind of reaped the benefits - same with her schoolwork - but Stephanie was the one living it all and doing it all and putting the effort in, and like, action-consequence.
(I'm actually arguing more off Hunter's beliefs than off mine here, which is scary. D:)
Also, I have no idea where I wandered off to there, but I believe I went somewhere.
SORRY I'm IGNORING EVERYONE AGAIN D:
I love Clarabelle. :)
And Skulduggery obviously, but he's everyone's favourite.
I'm...fine. I have books to hide in!
I kinda don't want Darquesse to die. I really like her character. I want to hug her and help her!
*is sat on her own*
*has taken the stupid hoodie off and is fiddling with the bandages around her neck and wrists*
*the one on her neck is soaked with dried blood, the ones on her wrist slightly less so*
*I'M
Also, I think I do get what you mean, and -
hey
hey
DOES IT REALLY MATTER? VALKYRIE ISN'T EVEN GOING TO EXIST BECAUSE DARQUESSE!
Curiosity killed the cat. That is the concept you choose to use here? Peculiar.
I agree with the zombie analogy, but that is not completely relevant. It's the fact that Darquesse was created as a villain by people speaking of her. If Valkyrie hadn't heard of Darquesse being such an evil being, Dark Days would not have ended how it did and, perhaps, the end of the world would not be nigh.
And I just think that the way Stephanie is screams shady... *shrugs*
Remember Vile tearing apart the White Cleaver? Nye stitched him back up again, more unstoppable and black than ever.
Yeah . . . like I said, giving Stephanie the benefit of the doubt, but I still like her. :)
And - I'm not blaming Darquesse for being curious. Curiosity is a GOOD thing. I just don't like where her curiosity is leading her.
And of course. If you tell someone they're going to be evil all their life . . .
But the fact is, she's still a psychopath.
(One of the only characters I like in the SP books is the White/Black Cleaver)
I really hope i get this book for my birthday :)
SP doesn't have very likeable characters. And I think that's much more of a good thing than a bad thing. :)
Hahaha! Yes Elleni, there's just something, I don't even remember what, just that I grew very attached to the silent monster that he is. When he died, hit me much harder than I thought. My insensible joy when he was brought back confirmed it.
*still doubting Stephanie
Not 'giving her the benefit of the doubt'.
O_O
Sorry.
I think my brain was just like "need a phrase about doubt. Oh, you'll do" and grabbed it. :P
I was a huge fan of China, but I don't think I can forgive her. Tanith is hysterical but she's too insane at the moment. Don't want to talk about Val.
I can generally always forgive.
I like China. :)
Okay, wbd - editing. Like, I'm almost two thirds of the way through, so... :3
@Star, thoughts on Erskine?
(Personally, I find 99% of the people in the SP books completely insane - they take such a casual approach to death and destruction. If you're a soldier, fine, you can deal with it, but like it's only been a few years and Valkyrie has gone from a normal girl to some crazy bitch... and seems fine with it.
The Black/White Cleaver is the only one who seems serious about what he does. Therefore he is one of my favourite characters.)
Dragona, when you're living fast, you have to grow up quickly. Surround someone with death and destruction and give them a weapon, I can bet you that they will probably grow up very quickly. Adapt to survive and all that.
And perhaps she seems fine with it... But does that mean she really is? There's more to a cake than its icing, and there's more to a person than how they act.
@Charlie: Huh?
I don't really like him.
Which isn't to do with forgiving him. :P
@Dragona: Yes, exactly. :)
Well, yeah, Val isn't totally fine with it.
(I realise I'm doing that thing where one person says one thing and I agree, and then someone else says something disagreeing and I agree with them, but I do honestly agree with both of you, just saying. :))
*nods, mind made up*
*walks to her treehouse and grabs a rucksack from under the bed*
*starts filling it with clothes*
Lovely perspective, Dragona. I see a lot of deaths coming up in this last book, I just hope they are treated with the respect they deserve after all this time.
Why....why do I feel the end looming dangerously close. Oh, I know....because it is
*is trying to type whilst listening to a fast song*
*limited success :P*
(Valkyrie seems more fine with it than I would consider for a character who I would like.)
*when she's happy that she got three spare sets of clothes goes to a draw*
*opens it and stares down at the asorted junk*
*finds what she's wanting, a small, hard case*
*puts that in the bag too, along with some blood sachets in the front pocket*
*slings it onto her back and heads to her vault*
Heya everyone, Dragona, Star
*waves at Silente*
Hello...?
*waves at Requiem and keeps walking*
*opens the money vault when she gets there*
*grabs a load of money and stuffs that into the box*
*heads up*
*starts walking away from Blogland*
**bag
Hey Requiem.
Hey Flora.
Alrighty.
Pleasure chatting with you all, but it is far too late for my poor Australia eyes to stay open. And when I awake, Armageddon!
Night all.
Hey Flora
*attempts to creep after Silente*
Goodnight, Charlie!
Bye Charlie.
*wonders where to go*
*sighs and decides not to think about that*
*keeps walking*
I don't judge characters on specifics like that.
Hunter's arguably more fine with it than Valkyrie is (you've seen him and Ez debating on whether to save people's lives or not. Something like - "I mean, I don't want her to die, but I'm not sure if I can be bothered to deal with the hassle" "You probably should save her, morals and all that" "Then you'll have to help me get out of all the hassle I'll be in" "Oh. In that case, kill her.")
Liking characters is kind of a shallow do-I-like-this-person-do-I-not. In real life, I would like a lot more people, because like, I know them and I can impact them and everyone is worth stuff, but if they're in a book, you have no obligation to like them or work on a relationship with them. In real life, I'm generally more optimistic about people and their intentions. In books, I'm generally more pessimistic.
*speeds up to walk next to Silente*
*jumps seeing Req*
Oh..hey...
*speeds up*
*linking in to the fact that in real life, I will be concerned about people, or try and remember to fulfil the actions that portray concern, whereas in books, I have no obligation to be concerned or to worry about them or care about them.
I'm not actually a very caring person and my emotions work largely on a trigger basis. If I feel emotion, I have to be triggered to feel emotion, so in some circumstances, a story can make someone die and I'll be fine with it, but then C talks to me about how lonely Hollie's bracelet that she lost will be and I'll start crying my eyes out about this bracelet and then I'll be worrying about it and a few days later I'll just be like "I hope her bracelet's okay."
Good writing is worth so much, for me. If you want me to feel emotion, you have to write me into it.
(Although if you kill someone, I might talk myself into it myself. But it's less likely to impact me.)
Also, liking people as a CHARACTER is completely different to liking them as a PERSON.
(Star - I like Hunter as a character, but not as a person.)
Hey Silente. S'up. And if you say the ceiling....
*speeds up*
DRagona, Star, what are you debating?
(I'm not really debating anything - I'm just interjecting with random opinions. :P I think it was Star and Luciana who were debating. ^^)
The treetops.
*speeds up again*
*wonders if she should just run*
*starts fiddling with the bandages on her wrists and neck again ignoring the stiffness of them*
It was sad, though . . .
Like, imagine it's sitting there, lost on the floor, and at first it thinks "She'll come back, yes? Of course she'll come back. She wouldn't abandon me. She loves me. She'll come back."
And then it'll think "Where is she? Surely she should be here by now."
And then it'll be thinking "Maybe the art gallery closed and she has to come back tomorrow. Maybe she's just taking a long time to find me. Maybe she's waiting for me to appear at lost property."
And then someone picks it up, and it's okay with its new owner, but it wishes it had been left where it was so its original owner could come back for it, because although it knows, deep down . . . . . . .
And then it sees its owner the next day.
And it thinks, YAY! SHE TRACKED ME DOWN!
But then it notices, on her wrist . . .
There's a new bracelet.
The bracelet has been replaced.
And it just -
it can't handled it, because it thought it wsa special, it thought its owner loved it, but it wasn't, it was just another bracelet, and it's been imagining its owner looking and searching all night . . . she just went home, and the bracelet was all alone and scared and its owner didn't care . . .
And it's only just been created, this bracelet. It's never had any friends before. This is its very first heartbreak, and it hurts, it hurts horribly.
And it all crashes on this poor bracelet like a tidal wave when it sees the new bracelet and -
yeah, this is what my friend C does to me. :P
Oh, okay. Star, Luci, what were you debating?
OH really Silente? You really went there?
*speeds up again*
(Star - that's exactly why I dislike getting rid of anything. :P)
@Requiem: Yup. Me and Luciana. :P
@Dragona: Yeah.
Hunter isn't actually a very nice person, really.
He's really annoying. O_O
And then Ez is just mean.
Um.
Yeah. :P
Yes, I went there.
*stops and pulls the backpack onto her shoulder so its more stable*
Is there a reason your following me?
@Dragona: Really?
Well, you see, I'm generally fine, it's just when people talk me into feeling these emotions. :P I'm getting touchy about chucking things out now though, so can we please stop talking about it?
@Requiem: Stephanie v. Valkyrie.
And we talked about Darquesse as well, of course. :)
Hey everyone.
How're you all?
@Flower hey how are you?
@Flora: Okay, thanks. :)
The debate died because I was getting overly philosophical... ^-^
Ah okay. Always an interesting topic.
*stops as well*
Just wondering if you were okay. You seemed a little...off. I mean, I only really met you once and you were trying to kill me but yeah, I think it's perfectly reasonable for me to draw all my conclusions about you based on that one encounter. No, it reall isn't and I'm babbling now...
*stops*
YOu ok?
http://static.animalzoo.ro/uploads/2014/01/01-1-veve-zburatoare.jpg
Fine. As always.
*walks*
@Mushroom: My fault I'm stranded in a lack of people teaching me philosophy? :P
*starts walking again*
That's cool then. Soooooo, you're good to chat then? How's life?
*raises an eyebrow at him*
*sets an incredibly fast speed for a human*
Life. I don't know. I haven't asked it.
Star - My fault for choosing philosophy in the first place.
And for having a knack for the subject...
*sighs*
Well, that's deep. Still, none of us did so if that's what you're moping about then forgive me for having no sympathy
I'm not moping! I'm walking.
*holds up hands*
Okay, okay. Walking. Mind if I walk with you?
Sure. So long as you keep up.
*starts curving to the left, heading back towards bloglands clearing*
http://www.gamevain.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/Mass-Effect-3-meme.jpg
I have read it and I can safely say that it's pure awesome :3 and now I have to disappear, because it's my last day of school and I'm running stupidly late.
@Silente: Bit crap to be honest.
How're you?
http://media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/a1/f3/94/a1f394392fe4961fcbfab909e30b74d9.jpg
Sure.
*follows Silente*
@Flower good! Reading! What's up with yo life?
Garrus! Garrus! I love Garrus!
So what have you been up too since last I saw you?
Always fear, Dugglyn is here!!!!!
How be's yous eyes?!?!?
How be's yous??!?!?!!
Requiem - he's awesome, isn't he?
Hey Dug. I'm fine. My eyes are happy. You?
Yes Dragona, he's like my best bro ever!
And Skyrim as well? I think you may be the coolest person ever!
I'm good. My eyes be's drowning in refried beans and slowly melting but overall good!!!!!!!
Lol. Well, on the PS3 if you look at the past three games I've played it goes (from newest-oldest):
Mass Effect 3, Mass Effect 2, Mass Effect.
Then yeah Skyrim on Steam. :P Though I do have that on the PS3 too. Stealth archer assassin. :D
Sorry, Dugglyn, melting in what?
Good!
*walks quicker, seeing the clearing ahead and hoping that when they get back Req will leave hee to do what she...yeah*
Sorry, I vanished because I'm editing. Finally onto chapter 21. :3
Oh yes. It has to be an archer, and stealth is great, if a little op. And yes, Mass Effect is great. I was updating and rebuilding my computer so I couldn't play it but it's back now! Took forever to reinstall though...
My eyes be's drowning in refried beans and slowly melting but overall good!!!!!
It's ok. It's normal!
For me....
*wonders if she should stick with Silente just in case something happens...*
@Dugglyn Refried beans? I don't think I've ever had the pleasure
Race ya..
*starts running towards the clearing*
It's quite unpleasant. And then Elleni tried to scoop the beans out and wound up scooping up my eye. It was the same one that popped out when I played hunt the vampire with Silente. It just keeps falling out!
@Silente: I don't really know. Just having a down day, I suppose. Or week, maybe - I don't know.
It's just...I dunno. Do you ever feel like a sideline character? Like, this is you and your life, but really you're nothing special, and other's take precedence.
I dunno, I just don't feel important sometimes.
But don't worry about me, I'll be fine :P
Requiem - I counter Stealth's OP-ness by wearing no armour whatsoever. It helps.
I've been playing Mass Effect continuously for nearly a year now. It's my favourite game series. When you play, what kind of Shepard do you generally go for?
Because for me, renegade is just so funny. For a start I was playing Paragon then was like, "Hey I want to do cool things and shoot people" so changed to a female Shepard who played like 99.9% renegade.
@Flower I know the feeling *hugs reluctantly as I don't like hugs* I hope things get better, mind state wise.
@Flora: But then you have to remember that you are special, and that your life can be anything you want it to be, and even if you get nowhere in life, you can still be worth so much (think about It's A Wonderful Life - the man never managed to get out of his home town, but he actually did so much in his life without realising.
And that can be applied in many different ways.
And maybe you don't realise what a difference you've made until you've gone.
And maybe, to use one of Mushroom's analogies, it's like those pictures where you can see two things at the same time, like some people look at it and see a duck, and some people look at it and see a frog, and maybe it's just your perspective.)
But I'm possibly rambling now . . .
*runs to try and catch up with Silente*
@Dugglyn ah...okay...that sounds...interesting....
@Dragona No armour at all? Now that's a good idea. I might just try that. The first time I played I was always trying to play Paragon but I always thought that some of the Renegade options were hilarious. But then my computer had a freak out, just after Virmire and managed to corrupt the latest save files for that one so I started again. This Shepard is much more impulsive and I tend to go woth whichever option I feel like, ending up with a mix of the two, although slightly more Paragon. Which class do you play then?
*jumps around Flora*
*throws onions at her*
YOU ARE AMAZING!!! YOU ARE A QUEEN!!!!! YOU ARE WORTHY OF MY VERY SPECIAL ONIONS!!!!!
(Hehehe. The onion man!)
WE LOVE YOU!!!!!!!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!
*weaves between the trees looking behind to see where Req is*
*poor Req, no where near fast enough*
*bursts into the clearing*
And I win!
Here's a story for you Queen Flora!
*bows*
So one day a lemon was walking on a tree branch when a grape yelled 'HEY DUDE!!!!' The lemon (we'll just call him Len) was like 'OMG!!! A random grape just called me dude! How rude!' And the grape (we'll just call him Gra) said 'why is it rude dude? I'm just callin' you dude!' And Len just huffed and puffed, extremely annoyed with Gra. So then Gra walked up the side of the tree and told Len he was sorry and Len replied 'It's alright dude!' And then Gra freaked out because Len called him dude and he was like 'How rude!' And Len said 'Hey, I'm just callin' you dude! It's not rude!
I always like to think about life in a quirky way, as though we’re all just in a book. Because that’s what it’s like. You’re the protagonist of your own story, a main character of another’s. Perhaps even an antagonist to someone else, but also a love interest to somebody, too. The fact of the matter is, you matter, and you will always matter. The pen is mightier than the sword, remember, and you are in possession of that pen.
Your story, Flora. It might not always feel like it, but it is.
Also, Star... Why is it always me you reference?
What for Elleni?
@Elleni: It is. :) *hugs*
@Mushroom: Not ALWAYS to you.
You're just a fantastic person to reference to. :P
*nods*
*puts her bag down at the base of her tree*
*runs off quicker that before, faster than a human could run*
*runs in and bends over, out of breath*
Hey, no fair Silente. You have an advantage!
Eh. :/ I wouldn't be a very interesting protagonist. :P
As Hunter keeps pointing out, my life is really boring . . . XD
I swear, I cannot come on the blog without someone quoting or referencing something I've said or written. It's weird as hell.
Like, I don't even say cool things. I talk nonsense!
Also: Page 188 of 295!:D
Oh it's o-
*her eye pops out*
*she pops it in her mouth to clean it out*
*puts it back in*
-k. It's a lot easier to clean now!!
@Mushroom: BUT YOU SAY AWESOME THINGS. :P
Seeing is an interpretative act, Star. The way in which you see could be what carries your story, even if the things that occur are boring. (El also makes a speech-y thing about how important it is to make our stories exciting and that was a quote from El up there). But, yeah, you might think your life is boring and, yeah, maybe it is, but the way you see things - which is something I can comment on - is phenomenal and I would happily read a story of your life to read more about the way your mind works, if nothing else.
*hugs Elleniiii :)*
@Dugglyn: You're so creepy and insane but you're so cool. :) *hugs*
Nice ded Elleni!
*pats Silente on the back so you don't have to hug again :P* Thanks a lot :)
@Star: Yeah, maybe. That's a good way of looking at it.
And, I dunno, I do always try to be positive, and I never like to post my problems on here because although this is Blogland and it helps so many people all the time, it's kinda like, I don't wanna add to that because my problems are as big or anything.
But...idk.
It's kinda like even if I try my best, no one ever really cares and I'm never recognised for being just me. I kinda get lost in the trail of louder, more important people.
@Dugglyn: Haha, thank you!
I read that story last night and thought it was awesome :)
@Luce: Yeah, I know. I always try to think like that. And like my own analogy of everyone being a book and not being able to see further than the page you're on, but there always being something good to come.
But, sometimes it's just difficult to keep optimistic, y'know?
*hugs*
Thanks anyway
*runs faster, faster, back to yesterday's Hawthorne tree*
*pauses in front of it*
*hugs Flora*
Yeah, life is kinda sucky sometimes. But it's pretty awesom othertimes. Especially with peopl like this
*hugs Star back*
Thank you Star! That is one of the biggest compliments anyone could give me!
Yeah, I know, Flora. There's a reason I'm a pessimist...
And I'd love to help, but I've been in a crappy mood for 90% of my time for the past couple of weeks, so I'm certainly not the person cut out to help. Sorry. x
Queen Flora, you are welcome.
Elleni, you're welcome for that wonderful image!
All right. I must go in search of food, a brave and noble quest which may, although probably not, claim my life. If I never return, you probably won't miss me anyway...
Farewell my friends
*bows dramatically and strides off into the distance, before ruining the effect by tripping over*
aren't as big* not are
@Mushroom: THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT HUNTER THINKS
Well, the first part.
He thinks that you can make everything interesting, you just have to look at it correctly, so my life could be one of the most exciting lives in the world, but it isn't, because I don't look at things in a very colourful way, so it's boring.
(For the record, C once said that she could find more adventure in a room than most people could in their whole lives.
She didn't see it as a good thing, though. She thought she was just weird. :P)
(And C's character Elliott thinks that the ultimate goal in life is to have a boring life, so as you can imagine, he understands Hunter amazingly well. :P Interesting, though. So interesting.)
AND FURTHERMORE -
My outlook on life also isn't all that exciting and my mind is no more interesting than anyone else's, but thank you. :) :) :) :) *hugs tightly*
*pulls out a phone*
*texts Elleni Am going. Don't look for me. Bye.*
*steps through the Hawthorne tree portal into France*
*laughs at Requiem*
Hehe.
Go on a noble quest and come back with milk, a paper, bread, and a boy!
(Hehee. I love Valkyrie's dad!!!)
*hugs Flora and Luciana* I'm sorry . . . I love you. :)
@Flora: Yes, but . . . sometimes people are lost a little, and yet they can still be very important.
Louder doesn't necessarily mean more important either.
I could use two analogies here, but I'm not sure either of them are really usable . . .
@Dugglyn: Well, thank YOU. :) :) :)
*hugs*
NO
SILENTE
NO :O :O
@Requiem: *hugs* Yeah, very true.
Though, idk, sometimes I think blogland is more detrimental than anything else.
@Luce: Ditto, to be honest. I just never like to let it show, especially on here, because I need to be happy and optimistic for other people that need more help than I do.
*texts the same thing ro Dugglyn*
*presses the Crest on the structures door in the graveyard*
*slips inside, letting the door close behind her*
*looks over Elleni's shoulder*
Silente!
Star, that is amazing. Hunter is a really... complex character. I'd love to learn more about him. :)
And C shouldn't be so negative all the time!
The way you see things is radically different from the way that I do, Star, and that is what fascinates me. I love it.
Star did you just refer to me as Luciana...?
I dedicate this page to..
To Lucifer. As in Luciana, not the devil. Although the devil gets a ded too. So to Lucifer the devil and Lucifer the quotable person.
I think I know where she is.
(Brb!!!)
FLORAAAAAAAAAA:
Quoting Imp again because I suck with words:
I don’t know why these thoughts cross my mind as I silently sob into my fluffy, lilac pillow.
“If you're sad, just cry. Cry it out, because if you don't, the sadness will manifest itself within you and it will slowly grow until the day it takes over you. It's an ugly thing when it takes over... Don't allow it to take control of you, just let it out.” I hear Theo say, his feet heavy on the floor. I don’t have to look up to know he’s stood over me; I can hear his footsteps stop. “Don’t lock them away, because when they break out, they will be your end. Come here,” he pulls me away from the pillow and closer to him, and I let him. I fall into him and just cry.
wHY ARE YOU DEDICATING TO ME YOU ABSOLUTE WEIRDO?!
(Thank you, I love you!<3 I really don't deserve people as amazing as you in my life!<3)
*looks at the shelves around her*
*sighs and sinks down a moment, head bowed*
@Star: Yeah, I know what you mean, I didn't write that very well :P
I know that even the quiet important people are listen to.
I just don't think I'm all that important.
But, idk...
*hugs Star*
Thank you, you're awesome :)
And go ahead with the analogies - I love your analogies!
I'm dedicating to you because you deserve it. Your always so kind and enthusiastic and...there. Your always there. That why its dedicated to you....as well as the devil....
@Mushroom: Well, don't tell me THAT. I go on about Hunter enough already. :P
*hugshugshugs* :) Thank you.
Of course Hunter is complex. All people are complex. :P
And - YES, SHE SHOULDN'T BE. :P
And of course you deserve amazing people in your life. You're amazing. :)
And - I told you you were an awesome writer. :)
Because hes under appreciated! Poor Devy.
Guys stop being so perfect you're going to make me cry ;~;
Go tell Flora how perfect she is! She needs to hear it right now. <3 She's amazing and she doesn't get told enough. You guys compliment me far more than I deserve! Shhh. *cuddles everyone*
Sorry, might disappear in a minute. I think Blogland is just upsetting me more.
Brb.
You must cry Luci! Mwahahahaha!
You are seriously ace though.
Yeah..I'm going.
Don't know when I'll be back on again.
Bye *waves*
Bye Flower
@Flora: Yeah, but one of them references to a Bloglandian and the other one references to me and they're not even GOOD analogies, they're kind of boring and rubbish. :P
But you know . . .
You know those people in lessons who just have their hand up the whole time, and the lessons ends up being a conversation between the teacher and that person?
And they just put their hand up every time they have the slightest query, or when the teacher can be slightly challenged, and even when they do get it, they put their hand up for extra clarification.
And then you have people like me and they just kind of sit there and don't bother putting their hand up.
And teachers always say to me that I should communicate more because whenever they look in my book they can see I've got it and I'm good at it but I never show that in the lessons.
And people who put their hand up all the time have quite low resilience, or tend to, and in life, is there always going to be a teacher to ask?
And maybe people like me don't contribute as much to the lesson and don't seem as important and aren't often noticed or do anything worthy of noting, but in the end, maybe they're more intelligent and will get further in life.
(Or maybe they won't. Idk, one of the girls I'm thinking about is pretty intelligent and also really good with stuff like organisation and determination and sheer getting stuff done and you can kind of imagine she'll just streak through life like an arrow, and she'll probably get a lot further in life than I will, but this messes with the analogy so you can ignore it. :P)
Bye Flora!
Guys seriously thank you but I don't deserve the compliments.
@Mushroom: You and Flora are BOTH perfect. :P
*hugs Flora* I'm sorry . . . :/ I hope you feel better soon. :)
*lifts her head, ears twitching*
*stays very still, listening*
*crawls quietly to a dark corner away from the door*
*hides, knife at the ready*
SilenteTC . . . :( :( :( :( :(
James: *nods* just as I though. Like a rat stuck in a corner. Open it.
Mem o posse: *nods and begins hitting the structures door with a sledge hammer, making cracks appear in it*
*scurried further into the corner, eyes widening*
@Elleni: TC = the character.
Because there are two Silentes . . . :P
(I'll pause there and wait for Dugglyn.)
(Its kinder)
194.5 pages of editing done. 100 to gooooooooo.
Might be able to finish Imp by tomorrow night if I carry on like this. :P
That's a lot of pages...
@Mushroom: YAAAAAAAAY! :)
(Your welcome. But I have to say, James plan is...interesting. And totally unoriginal.)
Silente, it's over 115k words. :3
@Mushroom: That's a lot . . . O_O O_O
That is a VERY lot.
It's longer than Mortal Coil and will, probably, be a similar length to Death Bringer once I'm finished...
That's bigger than some SP books . . . O_O
It's not much compared to what I could write. Like, I've cut out a lot from this manuscript, so...
@Mushroom: Yeah. As I was saying. :P
(I almost said "quite a few SP books", but then I realised that that could be interpreted as Imperfect being bigger than a few SP books PUT TOGETHER, so I adjusted it.)
@Mushroom: . . .
Yeah.
Um.
Yeah?
Back! Sorry!
Will need to get lunch soon.......
*laughs* Imp is longer than Catching Fire, Divergent, The Fault In Our Stars (almost twice the length of TFIOS, I think...!) and loads of other YA books. It's actually ridiculous...

@Elleni: 115,000 words. O_O
Ok.
So like I said before, I think I know where she is. I followed her there yesterday. I think I remember where it is!
*turns into mist*
*solidifies*
*grabs Elleni*
*turns into mist again taking Elleni with her*
I hope this works......
Mem o posse: *continues with the sledge hammer, the wall starting to crumble and smash*
*whimpers, her family grave being ripped apart*
James: *holds up a hand to stop the man*
Come out now. And we won't go any further. Fail to do so and we'll break it appart to eome get you.
@Mushroom: O_O
Woah.
O_O
Okay.
Woah.
O_O
YOU'RE SCARING ME NOW. :P
