The Spoiler Zone is still the only place you can discuss KOTW, but while you're doing that, this is a book review that Amazing Phil did on Blue Peter. I used to watch Blue Peter all the time when I was growing up, so it's pretty cool to be featured on it, and I reckon Phil did a fantastic job of grabbing the attention of non-Skulduggery readers.
It's also really nice to catch a few glimpses of Skulduggery himself... I think the exploding pillar thing is EXCELLENT... and it really makes me want a Skulduggery movie even more...

(Sorry for the distance guys, studying for midterms...)
(*hugs Adwa*)
Well, there's a pendant for that. *he takes out two pendants, each about the size of a pey with a large red gem in the center*
Check 'em out! I found tm buried beneath the Louvre!
Bethany: Can I try something?
If you two would like destroy a realm, I cannot allow thay.
*Adra smiles thankfully* Bless you. *She slides it around her neck, and walks forward, closer to Erebus, still trying to read him*
*smiles*
Of course you can try something.
I have destroyed many realms, frost giant. Simply non under your feeble "protection" until now.
(None*)
*She clears her throat, as close to Erebus as she possibly can* Remind me again, why you're doing this?
*Doesn't know how to help the stars, maybe just defeating him*
*continuously punches him and blast him with light*
*he quickly paces after her*
Do be careful though, they aren't flawless. Make sure to rest it every hour, and don't go withing one inch or the charge will really begin to drain.
Oh, and put on some sun cream. *he hands her a bottle of SPF 1000 sun cream. The label looks a bit hand made* That light is very bright.
*He turns and looks at Noelle (Adra? I'm confused as to which character is there) and stares right through her*
Light is a disease. I am the cure.
*A javelin of darkness shoots at her*
*Adra begins to lather the cream around her arms and her face- she's fairly covered*
*Grabs Aira by the throat and holds her at arms length, squeezing. His movements slow for a moment as his body becomes encased in a layer of ice, but that is quickly broken. He meets Malygos's charge with a pillar of darkness*
I never said I actually cared for Midgard.
Zanida: *sebds a stream of fire at Erebus* Come on, fight like a man.
Bethany: I always wanted to know if I could do this... *she takes a small piece of melon in her hand, her palm glowing white* *the piece of melon grows back into a full one in her hands* Oh, good... I can make a full melon from the single piece of another.
Why would I fight like something as pathetic as man? I am a primordial, and you will learn to fear that title.
*The fire licks his armor, though it causes no visible damage. A hailstorm of shadowy spikes begins, raining death on any in the area*
(It's Adra)
*Adra would have gasped, and raised a wall of rock to protect her, before letting the rock fall*
*She feels a spike graze her arm, and covers her head with a boulder* *Adra shouts over the sounds* I mean end the universe- why?
*claws at him with one hand, ready to fire with the other*
S-stop...
*Trip makes an umbrella of energy and stands under it*
And, Erebus, considering you're going to kill us all, could you tell us the science of how you're removing this light? What are you actually doing?
*The Asgardians seem unphased by the shadows*
Thor: *swings his hammer, and flies directly at Erebus, lightning and all*
*sends a dagger at Erebus, vanishing and appearing in different places*
Zanida: *uses Loki's Chitauri sceptre and fires at Erebus*
Zanida: *speaks aloud, to Trip* He's like one of the Dark Elves "Born of eternal night, the Dark Elves come to steal away the light." Erebus is simply a nasty Elf, and we believe this universe once was in darkness, and that it will one day return to it.
*Adra blinks* you know, for being the blind one here, am I the only one that can truly see this man? *Adra gestures at Erebus*
*Hops up and down on the balls of her toes* You know, Erebus, you do have a choice- inside everyone is a delicate balance of darkness and light, and I'm afraid you're no less. Darkness doesn't imply evil, nor does good imply heroicism. It has been your choice to take the darkness inside of you and become evil. But you have other opportunities, too.
What use has a dead man for knowledge beyond his comprehension?
*Extra arms grow out of him and grab hold of each of his attackers, constricting them with more than enough force to bend metal*
Adra, you are correct in one regard, and wrong in another. It is true that darkness does not imply evil, but I do not believe myself evil. I have no light, I am all the darkness that exists. What I am doing is my nature.
Firstly, there's literally no science in that at all, and secondly, for a race that supposedly rules the universe, it's a bit of a shame you need Tolkien and co. to explain to us your history.
Erebus!
*Kicks his stomach*
Let...me...go...
That was not an answer to your question, mortal. Secondly, we do not rule the universe. We are the universe.
(... Would that first of two comments refer to Adra as well, Erebus/J? (Not sure whom I am to address here))
*Adra shrugs* If you believe yourself to be constricted into one label, then I suppose yes.
But have you ever tried doing something nice?
Really, Erebus, by this point I take 'beyond comprehension' from you to mean challenging for a mage who's never done anything more exciting than beurocracy for a small sanctuary.
I don't think you know. I think you have no clue of what scientific processes go on when you use your abilifies, you just do them and it happens. That's all you've ever needed to know.
I may be a dead man Erebus, but you are an ignorant one.
*Leans over to Trip* Your argument isn't very strong..
Please Erebus, I was talking to Zanida, not you. Not everything concerns you.
*when Erebus grabs them, they images of them vanish, a mere illusion of Loki's*
Zanida: Try harder, buddy.
((Sorry if Loki seems a dirty fighter, but that's how he is.-Zaf
If we're going back another post, could we skip the spoiler zone?
Also, hi.
Honestly, I am more fascinated by the fact that the stars are disappearing, given that the light one sees from them is already incredibly old, given their distance and the speed of light.
*He isn't here, of course, if he was here, he'd be incinerated.*
*The gentleman in question is actually a very safe distance away, squinting at the events through a pair of dollar-store sunglasses.*
*he leans back over* It doesn't need to be.
(*decided to omit that detail too*)
(Also hi.)
Oops, sorry.
http://dereklandy.blogspot.com/2012/08/inis.html?m=0
*all the magic, all the power, floods through her, but is quickly grabbed by her dagger*
*shadows around Erebus start getting pulled towards the dagger too*
(I actually thought of that too, Sir. But it's a bit late and it would be kind of silly if Erebus just said "Yup, they're gone. Trust me. No no, you're just seeing light as it arrives, believe me they're all gone.")
(Hey lav)
(I just thought maybe he started a very long time ago, and only now is the plan co!ing to fruition?)
Silly, perhaps, but scientifically accurate.
After all, would a light-destroying deity want to craft a persona of seriousness or scientific legitimacy?
I rest my case.
*Adra leans back* Yes it does*
-
*Noelle is still at her house, chilling*
Hello, Sir!
(The amount of people who strive for perfect scientific accuracy in a world chock full of magic is truly annoying sometimes.)
*Darkness stabs at the Asguardians as they teleport around. His many arms continue to squeeze those he has captive*
(Again I ask- is Adra captive or not? This is kind of important to whether or not she reacts properly..)
*finally uses her powers over passion to convince him to let her go*
Erebus...please
Zanida: *takes her lance, and slashes at one of Erebus's arms*
Magic is no excuse for laziness.
*He blinks yet again, and takes off the sunglasses, turning to Noelle.*
Ah, greetings. I didn't expect to see you here, given the imminent cataclysm.
(No, Adra. He's only concerned with those attacking him at the moment.)
*The arm breaks apart and reforms around the lance, pulling it from Zanida's grasp*
(Bless.)
*Adra raises her hands, and shouts*
YOU HAVE A CHOICE, EREBUS. YOU CAN TRY TO DO WHAT IS RIGHT BY OTHERS. YOU CAN TRY IT- BE NOT AVERSE TO THAT WHICH YOU ARE MOST FOREIGN TO.
-
*Noelle nods* Yup.
(I think it's lazy to say that because there's a premise that says magic, or superheroes, or a world where everyone loves Margaret Thatcher, suddenly there's no need for consistent rules and laws, and I know a lot of people who will back me up. The whole point is that there is a reality where a few crucial things are different. But ultimately, a reality still has rules and laws.)
*Eyes so dark they seem as though they aren't there bore into Aria*
Darkness has no feelings.
You have joy! You experienced pleasure when taunting people! Stop lying to yourself!
*He inclines his head as well.*
I suppose that there is impending doom approaching, every single week. One could easily imagine becoming used to it.
If that is the case, Castalan, then allow me to enjoy this.
*parts with Tanya, floating towards Erebus, beginning to absorb his shadows and strip him of his power*
*projects a thought to Erebus*
You gave me this willingly. I will take it all. You are mine.
*stares at the dagger*
*Electric lights all across Earth flicker and die out, plunging the planet into darkness. The only light comes from the moon, a sign that he has not yet extinguished the sun*
*Starts to lose consciousness and black out*
(Kas, could you email me regarding that dagger? I'd like to clear up what it is and what it does before responding.
BlakeyGale@gmail.com)
Zanida: *grabs at her lance quickly, Asgardians are stronger then people believe* NOT MY BLOODY LANCE!!!!
Thor: *sends the hammer at an arm*
((Friendly reminded that Thor's hammer goes back to Thor and only Thor can lift it.-Zaf
*Noelle nods* So it seems...
-
*Adra sighs, then lifts up her head* *Loudly, without strain*
And you, my friend, there on the sad height,
Curse, bless, me now with your fierce tears, I pray.
Do not go gentle into that good night.
Rage, rage against the dying of the light.
You know Adra, It's weird, I've nearly died so many times, I'm not entirely sure that this is the end.
*She nods her head to him* I've actually died enough times that I'm positive. Regardless, I'd rather it not be the real event.
(Creepy coincidence... I love that poem and I'm currently writing an analysis of it for my world literature class.)
*fires the last of her energy at his head*
*He turns his attention back to the scene unfolding.*
...
Ah, excellent choice. Very Romantic, recognizable, yet not cliche or bereft of meaning.
*falls to the ground, coughing weakly*
(Brb food-Zaf
*rushes out and catches Ariadne, something going in his left arm*
*he speeds back over to Adra and lays Ariadne down before he drops her*
Well, Adra, it's been good.
