The world won't be in trouble, the US are owned by China. China doesn't want its property damaged. No way you'll go to war against a country that could actually fight back.
And you're still a NATO member, aren't you?

Raven Astracae said...

Feel free to come to Australia. It's a good place because if you really dislike the Prime Minister that gets elected, that's alright, because they never last a full term anyway.

Inky Flame said...

(Doesn't Australia like Wales? I'll come to Australia!)

LaurenXIV said...

Haha yes were still in NATO ;)

Star Inkbright said...

I would come to Australia, but dude, the HEAT.

Mary Contrary said...

(I sat my maths C4 exam this morning and instead of any actual revision or panicking about the exam going on this morning, up until the second we were let into the exam hall and had to shut up, the only conversations going on were about the referendum result. There were a lot of angry and upset people and approximately no happy people?? And then the paper was horrible so there was about a minute of people talking about how badly it went and then it was back to EU misery. It was the weirdest exam experience o0)

Hear hear!

@Aquila: And after that, you'll become a bachelor of science..? :o

Star Inkbright said...

Also Chloe the reason Wales always goes with England is, I think, due to some historical agreement that makes Wales officially a part of England or whatever. Its why the Welsh flag isn't in the union Jack. Idk I don't know much about it.

Inky Flame said...

(That's not fair ;-; )

Aquila Felis said...

Yep, Bachelor of Science Biology. I'm a scientist! ^^

Raven Astracae said...

I think we're a friendly people mostly. And we have some good gun laws. But we don't have marriage equality and we still can't seem to acknowledge the traditional owners of our land. AAAND the government wants to charge us even more for uni so forget about paying off student loans or any shit like that.

At least Donald Trump isn't running here though.

Star Inkbright said...

@Taia: When I was walking round school this morning there were an astonishing number of normal non-refetedum conversations . . . me and Cat were just like "how are these people talking about other things"
Those were secondary school children though. Sixth formers, in general, tend to be more politically invested. When I got to form everyone was just depressed and devastated . . .

Raven Astracae said...

Oh and Star's right, the heat will mess you up. It gets to like 40 degrees and then there's just bushfires everywhere. Like everywhere.

Mary Contrary said...

Hi there, Lauren! *waves* Nice to meet you. :)
Yeah, that sounds like a pretty accurate history tbh.

Hey Raven. That sure sounds tempting. :P

LaurenXIV said...

Hi Taia Raisin :) its nice to meet you also :)

Inky Flame said...

(Ah.. The only things I see of Australia is I'm a celebrity get me outta here and bondi rescue)

Raven Astracae said...

That's funny because I don't even watch those shows and I live here...but I mean, a lot of people do watch those shows. My dad scams the tv box to make it think we live in England most the time so he can watch the shows he likes.

Aquila Felis said...

One of my profs has been to Australia, and though he had lots of good things to say about your plants, he highly disapproved of your society for how much you disregard the Aboriginees. He said he saw cave paintings some people just walked a path over. Things like that are... a tiny bit messed up indeed.
Oooh, and I remember when I started learning English, my English teacher claimed you have so strict English tests for immigratns even some English people fail them. And then we had to try to read some poem in Australian English. And knew less than half the words. Yeah...
-took Australia off her 'I could live there' list looong ago-

Inky Flame said...

(Hehe I'm a celebrity is brilliant!)

Star Inkbright said...

@Raven: See, 30 degrees is too hot for me. :P

Mary Contrary said...

@Aquila: That's so cool! What is your thesis about..?

@Star: Yeah, I didn't see much of lower school today because they all had to go climb a mountain or something. :)

@Chloe: *nods at what Star said?* I think... we are probably the least independent part of the U.K.? But, I'd rather be attached to England. The concept of Wales being an independent country is... scary to me.

Raven Astracae said...

Yeah, we actually had one of our MP's say that the stolen generation wasn't a thing, but if it didn't happen the Indigenous woman he was talking to would have been raped by her father. And that was a really fucking horrific thing to hear. And the white colonists have so much to say sorry for and still that lot get away with saying shit like this.

AND YES the immigration laws. My God. YOu know pretty much the number 1 reason Australia federated in 1901 was to stop immigration from the Chinese who were coming in to gold mine and shit. AND THEN the put in the 1901 Immigration Act and that was a whole load of bullshit. Like they introduced these dictation test and then when Chinese people came to sit the test and they had become fluent in English the Australians were all, "lol actually we can give the test to you in ANY European language" and then gave the tests to people in French.

Please.

Save my future.

Raven Astracae said...

Omg Trip. Would that even work?

Aquila Felis said...

Taia: I tried to find a reference gene in Uromyces appendiculatus, a plant pathogen that causes rust disease in beans.

Raven: The heck, that's... fairly racist. 0.0

Trip Castalan, Lord of The Hobbits, The Fourth Most Popular Folk/Parody Banana Thief In The Land said...

No XD

But it's worth signing to make our opinion of the outcome heard. London is a vital part of the UK's economy and most of its population is extremely pissed. Frankly though, a London independence referendum would make me very happy.

Aquila Felis said...

Trip - if the London finance sector goes down, our German Frankfurt will gain.
So, say thanks to the next leave voter from me. ;P

Mary Contrary said...

@Aquila: Ah, that sounds about 5 years ahead of my understanding of biology. :P Cool, though. :)

Aquila Felis said...

Taia, basically - it's a little mushroom that goes and lives on beans. And then the beans produce less, well, beans. So we don't like it.
Now we want to know how it manages to get around the plant's immune system, because maybe we can stop it being able to do that.
So we have to find out HOW it does that.
So we'd check which gene is how active at which state of the infection.
But to say if a gene is very active or rather meh, we need a gene or a set of genes that are rather stable - to have something to compare it to.
And for two months by now, I've been hunting down data on which genes are rather stable. Next week I'll give them to a computer program that can go through that data and find the stable ones. :)

LaurenXIV said...

... my brain has processed that by thinking of a junkyard full of rusty beans with lots of sad little baby beans...

... I didnt even realize plants HAD immune systems ;)

... im not a scientist if you hadnt noticed im a waitress haha ;)

Aquila Felis said...

Well, I'm off to work for now. See ya all some time. ^^

Aquila Felis said...

(Plants have immune systems and it's really cool, google it. ^^)

Inky Flame said...

(Bye Aq!

Yesterday it hit me that I'm now 18

LaurenXIV said...

LaurenXIV said...

Inky Flame said...

(See you soon!)

Noelle said...

Trip you are welcome to come live with me in DC

Mary Contrary said...

Sounds interesting, Aquila. I hope it goes well. :) ^^

Bye, Lauren!

*will be able to play video games again next week yay! :)*

LaurenXIV said...

Haha ok hes gone so im here again ;)

Do you play Taia???

Mary Contrary said...

Well, not much, and especially not lately - but I should have some time over summer on account of being too lazy to look for work. :)
I don't really play online, though, so I don't know what my PlayStation account is. :P

Dugglyn Carzainia said...

Wow, with this and then American politics, there are going to be quite a lot of people moving to Canada :P

But seriously, this year.

Dugglyn Carzainia said...

(Not actually here!)

LaurenXIV said...

Haha I only bought a Playstation like 2 months ago... I dont have so many games ;) I used to play with my ex and watch her play but ive only recently played myself... on my pc I have Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic... then on my Playstation I have Star Wars The Force Unleashed, Skyrim (oh god i love Skyrim its my favorite game ever... usually I cant play for so long at a time like a few hours at the most because games stress me out but with Skyrim if I get stressed from combat I can always go shopping or picking flowers or looking at pretty mountains <3)... I also have mass effect and thats the only multiplayer game I own... I couldnt play a game where you shoot other players but on mass effect you work together so I dont mind... I have lots of friends from the mass effect forum who play like Onewomanarmy and Arktinen and Arkhne and also a German person who added me randomly called Carsten :) I also have assassins Creed Rogue because I like the sailing haha... im really not so good at video games I play all of them on the easiest difficulty but im getting there i think even though im always doing stupid things!

LaurenXIV said...

Haha yes if Trump wins im totally going to Canada ;) hopefully he wont though ;)

Mary Contrary said...

Haha, ikr Dugglyn. :P

Ahhhh I love Skyrim too. It's so pretty and :) :) :)
The only other game I played recently is Assassin's Creed IV, and it was fun and not too hard, but I basically got far too attached to a bunch of characters and oh god that didn't end well. :P
I've been meaning to play Mass Effect, for ages. Really need to get that at some point.
I'm awful at everything, though, so I'm normally playing in easy mode, too.

LaurenXIV said...

Haha yes Skyrim is amazing <3 im not so far into the game im gathering the courage to go to Bleak Falls Barrow because zombies scared me ;)

Assassin's Creed Rogue seems ok I guess... I havent really fought so much but the sailing is really fun :) thats why I like it haha... even if the main character sounds like a drunk!

Mass effect is ok not usually my type of game... it isnt as good as Skyrim I dont think but its fun to play with friends online... even if they have to help me through even silver difficulty haha :) other than Skyrim my favorites are the Star Wars games theyre super fun :)

LaurenXIV said...

Oh god i just realized I had a typo on my profile... Derek Panda ok...

Inky Flame said...

(That moment when someone you care about is down so you leave them a nice poem for when they return but it all ends up in tears)

Mary Contrary said...

(Whoops, phone battery ran out :( )

Haha, yeah, it always takes me a while to go new places or do new things in Skyrim. But I'm getting better at it I think. :)
Assassin's Creed 4... Might be similar to Rogue, idk? You also get to sail and it's about pirates and whatnot. (And you collect shanties for your crew to sing while they sail which is so cute!)

*hugs Chloe* :( ?

LaurenXIV said...

Im not sure if this is about pirates or not... I have a boat... im an assassin at the moment but im fairly sure ill become a Templar at some point because the box says so ;) I had to have the whole templar assassin situation explained to me haha... something that still kinda confuses me is Asbergo Entertainment... I get theyre a real company who helped make assassins Creed... but they also exists in the game world??? Assassin's Creed also exists in the Assassin's Creed games... so youre playing a game made by a company inside the same game made by the same company??? AND Asbergo Entertainment are Templars so theyre calling themserves evil in a game theyve made about a game theyve made inside a game??? Its just... boom mind blown to smithereens it makes zero sense to me ;) they called themselves evil inside a game they made... and inside the game youre playing a game they made inside the game... when I first played I literally sat there for an hour trying to figure out what was real and what was fake! It destroyed my brain completely haha

Saoirse/Sorcha/Velvet said...

(Well it's a bloody good thing I have an Irish Passport in a Brexit England XD)

LaurenXIV said...

Ok... I need to make it clearer for myself because im confused again ;)

The real Asbergo Entertainment helped make the real Assassin's Creed games... inside the real Assassin's Creed game theres a fake Asbergo Entertainment who made a fake Assassin's Creed game which youre playing... so youre playing a game made by a company inside a game made by the company... because that's makes sense!

LaurenXIV said...

Hi Savannah its nice to meet you :)

Saoirse/Sorcha/Velvet said...

(Hi LaurenXIV! (Can I call you Lauren?))

Saoirse/Sorcha/Velvet said...

(It's nice to meet you too! :)

Are you new here?)

Saoirse/Sorcha/Velvet said...

(Oh fuck it I'm coming back till September then, you guys are addictive XD)

LaurenXIV said...

Haha yes please do! I only added the XIV because I think roman numbers are pretty and 14 is an important number to me :) Lauren is good :) It was quite funny... a few days ago I met someone while playing a video game and they kept giving me orders and they said XIV like ex eye vee and I was just like dude it means 14 ;)

LaurenXIV said...

Haha yes I am :) I saw the pretty cover art and was like ooohhhh pretty then I was dragged into a political debate which was fun and now im here ;)

Saoirse/Sorcha/Velvet said...

(The XIV is so cool! That's so funny that people don't realise it stands for 14 though! I guess that some people just never learn Latin/anything to do with Roman numerals.

Ahaha yeah we like debates here I guess! Well welcome then! :D)

LaurenXIV said...

Haha I dont know Latin but I know roman numbers at least ;)

Sorry for replying late! I played computer games and then made myself food then ate food then went to work again and now im here in bed haha... the diner is open 24 hours so I work super weird hours ;)

Thank you Savannah :)

Dugglyn Carzainia said...

'Ello Laura! Pleasure to meet you, I'm Dugglyn Carzainia!

And it's almost midnight, goodnight!

LaurenXIV said...

Hi Dugglyn Carzainia im Lauren :)

Haha yes it is pretty late :)

I probably wont go to see Finding Dory... I dont go to the theater so often... the last thing I saw was Fifty Shades of Grey which was SUPER awkward... heres a top tip if you want to go and watch a movie with lots of sex in it wait until its released on DVD... the theater was pretty much empty but it was still mega awkward ;)

Mary Contrary said...

Oh, I didn't realise they were a real company as well. Truth be told, I didn't really follow the Abstergo stuff, I just liked the boats and the pirates. :P

@Dugglyn: THANK YOU :0
I don't think it comes out over here until the veeeerrry end of July(?), but when it does I want to see every minute. :) A few years ago when I found out Finding Dory was gonna be a thing, everyone was super dull about it and not at all interested - except a couple of friends who were REALLY excited , so we made a pact to go see it. We haven't spoken now for like six months but I'm still holding them to their word. We are going to watch Finding Dory together. :P

LaurenXIV said...

Haha I like the boats too... a few days ago I was sailing around thinking it was like Pirates of the carribean... then something kinda rose out of the water next to me and my brain kinda went OMG DAVY JONES so I shot it with cannons then I realized it was a whale and I was like omg whale are you ok??? ;)

Saoirse/Sorcha/Velvet said...

(Omg Dugg I really wanna see Finding Dory!

Don't worry about the late reply Lauren and you're welcome!)

Inky Flame said...

Awww, Em.
I'm really enjoying it! I love your writing style so much! I just haven't had a ton of time to read and it's making me sad :/

And okay :)

Just FYI, I have noticed a couple typos. I can email you where they are if you want!

Inky Flame said...

I went to an Irish place called jacks
I had two jäger bombs
Then we went to a place called peppermint a where I didn't drink (that's where the guy grabbed my shoulders)
Then I went to an unknown bar and had a vodka martini which was disgusting
Then we went to kon tiki and I had a cocktail called strawberry sunset
Then we went back to jacks and I had another jäger bomb
Before wind street I had almost three cans of cider
I know it seems like I had a lot to drink but I feel fine
Tipsy but fine
My parents said that they can tell I'm
More sober that in my party

Feraaaa32 said...

oh yeah one more thing; aquila darling if you're reading this, don't be sad. See, there are so many funny little things to laugh about. Being sad is silly in such a cruel world ;)

Feraaaa32 said...

Goes to everyone else but just wanted to oh so highlight aquila because...well why the hell NOT HAHAHAHAHA

LaurenXIV said...

... I think theres a place in the world for sadness... you should watch Inside Out ;)

Aquila Felis said...

I quite loved Inside Out, and I'm in favour of a balance of feelings, too. ^^

Currently, though, I'm mostly happy and optimistic, and enjoying that fact. ^^

LaurenXIV said...

Inside Out was so beautiful <3 its like my third favorite movie... Star Wars comes first then Frozen then Inside Out <3
... I think im a Disney fangirl ;) The Force Awakens is obviously the best thing Disney have ever made but omg Frozen and Inside Out are amazing <3

Aquila Felis said...

Personally, I really enjoyed Tangled. ^^

And some of the older Disneys like Jungle Book and Snowwhite will always be dear to me, too. :3

Kriegvenator said...

Gotta love some good NaCl in the mor...it's noon er whatever.

Haven't seen inside out yet I really want to see it though.
I however have seen the star wars movie and the wow one.
Both of which I loved quite a bit.

The best disney movie imo is however the Nightmare Before Christmass.

LaurenXIV said...

Tangled is amazing also <3

I dont like the Nightmare before Christmas :(

Kriegvenator said...

WHAAAAT why don't you like it? I LOVE it :p i would watch it during halloween...and well christmass eve!

LaurenXIV said...

I dont know... its weird... I dont really like Tim Burton films...

Star Inkbright said...

I didn't like The Force Awakens.

Inky Flame said...

(I wuvs Tim burton films!)

Kriegvenator said...

aw... well i suppose it's not for everyone :P

Aquila Felis said...

I didn't watch any of the Star Wars ones and am not fond of a any of the superhero movies I've seen - that genre just doesn't suit me.

LaurenXIV said...

The Force Awakens was a beautiful movie <3 my favorite of all time haha

I love the Avengers :) and most Marvel films :) im not a fan of Batman because its kinda too dark for me but Marvel films dont take themselves too seriously and I like that :)

Saoirse/Sorcha/Velvet said...

(THE MARTIAN IS THE BOMB)

Feraaaa32 said...

hmmm.

I don't understand how you can be sad when there's so much agony though! :)

LaurenXIV said...

... my ex would have said something like that haha ;)

Agony isnt something you should be happy about :)

Aquila Felis said...

You can claim to be happy about it if you wanna seem edgy and special, though. ^^

LaurenXIV said...

It just seems mean to me but ok haha ;) ill take your word for it!

Feraaaa32 said...

Edgy and special? Just because you don't see how it's possible doesn't mean I am randomly spouting things :D

Although, it is true that randomness is my natural habitat.

Your ex? niiiiceeeee ;)

Kriegvenator said...

Depending on the source, "agony" is just pathetic and nonsensical.
that type of agony is far from interesting to laugh about.
it's just boring.

Feraaaa32 said...

if anything, you're being edgy here aquila ;)

Feraaaa32 said...

hehehe, interesting to see such a variety of opinions.

Feraaaa32 said...

and reactions.

LaurenXIV said...

Haha no she definitely wasnt nice ;)

Well... this was about politics again right??? So pathetic and nonsensical does sum up politics quite well but not agony I think :)

Kriegvenator said...

Oh no the agony that was a reference to was the people who claim they are in agony because they feel "sad"

LaurenXIV said...

Oh ok agony and sadness are different things completely :)

Kriegvenator said...

but i do agree that politics does share those traits

LaurenXIV said...

it does yes for sure :)

Feraaaa32 said...

naahhhhh, I never even thought about politics this whole time :P

btw hellllooo lauren, don't think we've met before? ;D

I just had meat soup and tomato sauce with mashed potato <3

LaurenXIV said...

I dont think we have no haha its nice to meet you Feraaaa32 :)

Feraaaa32 said...

nice to meet ya :)

How's you'z day?

LaurenXIV said...

Haha the day has hardly started yet ;) ive been up all night talking to my Internet best friend Patricia because shes Swiss and our times dont usually you know cross over :) ill have a nap later haha... its gonna be a good day I think... im gonna buy Call of Duty to try it because ive never had a first person shooter and apparently you can go on coop on modern warfare 2 and one of my online friends play it so im gonna buy it used for 3 bucks ;)

How is yours??? :)

Feraaaa32 said...

Ohhh the amount of times I've done that hehehehe. I only like overwatch and counter strike personally. I find every other fps really boring :D Strategy games on the other hand.... :P

Mine's been fuuunnnnyyyy XD Finally managed to study for biology, I will have a training session later :)

LaurenXIV said...

I think I maybe like... rpg games??? Theyre kinda my style... I like making characters :) My Skyrim character is so pretty :) I need to buy more games!

... a training session for biology or something else??? ;)

Feraaaa32 said...

rpg games are fucking awesome! I love them to bits, they involve action, strategy and all the necessary brain powers :D

Ohhhhh cheeky ;) who knows, what if I said I'll have a different training session for biology? ;) :p

LaurenXIV said...

... I pick flowers go shopping and look at pretty scenery but sure that to ;)

Haha that totally came out wrong ;) make sure you dont train too hard I hear too much biology can be pretty stressful ;) just make sure to do it fairly often and you should be fine ;)

Feraaaa32 said...

hehe, talk about pretty scenery, do you like space? I love it! IT's so vast, chaotic and pretty! :D

it appears it did come out pretty wrong ;) ...or maybe right ;P and well, sometimes I take it too far and hard, so people moan at me quite loudly ;)

LaurenXIV said...

I cant say ive ever been ;) but yes I think its very pretty but dangerous also :)

Yes those practical sessions can get pretty strenuous ;) some people dont like biology so vigorous thats why you have to train little and often... then they wont moan as much when you remove their genes ;)

Feraaaa32 said...

I wouldn't have guessed you've never been ;) that's the funny part of it though, that it's dangerous :P

Well see that's just it, moaning is not particularly bed(ha) in a really hard training session ;) That's usually the moment when I make it harder ;) :p

Feraaaa32 said...

somebody seems to be afk or just doesn't know how to respond ;D

LaurenXIV said...

Haha sorry im getting dressed and doing my hair and normal things people do in a morning ;)

I swear everywhere I go people make dirty jokes with me ;) over on the mass effect dragon age star wars knights of the old republic forum... the multiplayer has a kind of revive mechanic where if you die you can be revived...
... I had a round with someone and I died a lot and I was a big alien rhino with a big hammer so I told her husband I had played with her and had gone down on her over and over and over and over again and hammered her really hard...
... he knew it was a joke because they both have a brain like mine but his reaction was still priceless ;)

Feraaaa32 said...

I don't train in the morning, usually ;) :p

lol, you pretty much would rather go to hell than see what's inside my mind hehehehe :D :D ;D

LaurenXIV said...

... that totally wasnt what I meant ;)

Im not sure... one would be eternal torture... the other would only be torture for a few moments... I think id prefer the few moments ;)

Feraaaa32 said...

mhhhmmmm, suuuuuuuurrreee ;)

oh no, you misunderstand, both of them are eternal torture ;) mine's a different kind though... which from what I can tell, you'd probably prefer ;)

LaurenXIV said...

Now youre just making me out to be worse than I really am ;)

Id rather no torture at all haha

Feraaaa32 said...

hehe am i now? I suppose I am a specialist at that ;P

I guessed as much though :D

LaurenXIV said...

Apparently you are haha

Im gonna go see my mom then go shopping so cya later :)

Feraaaa32 said...

cya maybe :)

I was trying to figure out the controls and I managed to pick up a rifle I was supposed to be showing some people how to use and shot one of the recruits in the face by mistake because I didnt know what R1 did... it said FRIENDLY FIRE WILL NOT BE TOLERATED and I had to start the mission again... within 2 seconds of gaining control of the character ;) and that sums up my experience so far haha ;)

Star Inkbright said...

Finally worked out what my issue with OUAT is.
It's written for optimists.
And I mean, I am an optimist, but as far as media preferences are concerned, I'm very much into realism and pessimism.

Worked this out because I've recently started watching Lost (five episodes in), and that's also written for optimists (it also has several OUAT actors in it). And I mean, it's kinda a letdown in a way because the characters are meant to be really rather sensible but I think the writers are just optimists, so I they've managed to write characters who appear sensible to other optimists but who aren't really that sensible and thus kinda lack realism a little. Really hard to say this in a way the average person will understand. Hmm.
Well, Lock was saying to Jack that he didn't usually believe in magic, but that there was something special about this place. There's not any discrepancies I can point out there, but his choice of words was rather interesting. Magic. It's only usually called magic in programs for optimists. Magic is mystical and, well, magical . . . in order to believe in magic, you have to sort of suspend your disbelief and take alrap if faith, and magic is usually . . . I want to say "wonderful," but I think what I mean is more "invokes a sense of wonder."
If Lost was a horror show, it wouldn't be "magic." It would be more along the lines of "something supernatural." Same meaning, but sidesteps the beauty and wonder and feels more like it could be threatening. OUAT has a lot of people doing magic. If OUAT was more written for realists . . . it wouldn't be "magic," it would be "powers." More technical and quantifiable - less mystery, more boundaries.

Personally I find that Lost is (so far) written really rather annoyingly. It seems to be a program without anything technically canonically supernatural, but it sort of gives you the option to believe that there is magic, if you so desire. Hard to explain why this annoys me. Maybe, as someone pretty logical with atheistic inclinations, I just wish they wouldn't waste time and plot saying "but maybe there is magic!" and just get to what I deem is more important.
Same issue with OUAT, really. They have this whole thing with good and evil . . . as the audience is optimistic, you're meant to hope that the characters turn away from evil and choose to be good, but as someone who doesn't believe in good and evil I'm just sat there like "ffs stop being ridiculous."
I guess that's really it. I guess that's my issue: a lot of the emotions they're trying to create in their audience rely on the audience being what I'd be inclined to refer to as "somewhat ridiculous."

There is absolutely NOTHING WRONG with marketing towards optimism and if that kind of thing floats your boat, good. Everyone should be able to find media they enjoy. However, I don't think it really floats my boat, and that's where I'm going wrong, I think.

Idk how this happened to me really because I'm actually a naturally optimistic person. I can't decide whether my preferences are like this because I've read/listened to too much horror, or whether I ended up reading/listening to it because of my natural media preferences. Who knows.
I'm sure part of this comes from studying science, because over this past year I swear I've got much more logical due to trying to think like a scientist the whole time. I like being logical though so that's okay. Does mean that illogical people (which is like . . . all people) are much more likely to irritate me, though.

No I take that back. The Lost characters are written fine. It's just the plot. Idk. I don't really know what it is. Can't quite put my finger on it.

Star's Brexit thoughts:

Personally I'm Remain, and think that the way we left was the worst way we could have possibly done it
I believe sixteen year olds should have been allowed to vote
I believe Boris Johnson was just backing Leave as a political manoeuvre because he never thought he would win, and now he is he's like "oh shit"
I believe David Cameron only did the referendum because he used the "eyyy I'll give you a referendum" line to get into power
Not happy with either of them. I'm going to be growing up with a recession now because of their stupid selfish political manoeuvres.
I also believe that many people voted leave because they wanted tobget rid of the immigrants. Well, that worked out - the Vote Leave campaign are now saying "oh um we won't actually be able to get rid of all the immigrants sorry guys." One can't have free trade with the EU without accepting freedom of movement. And as for having an agreement like Norway . . . Norway follow more of the EU's rules and regulations that we do, and we'd have to accept more than ever before if we wanted to continue a high level of trade with the EU (we got out of lots of stuff before due to being a prestigious member) - and we need to trade with them; we do 50% of our trade with the EU and we are a country that is HIGGLY reliant on trade. And no, we can't just find other people to trade with, coz everyone's staying away from us now after the referendum.
In addition, you know we're ditching the EU's laws and making our own British laws? Do you know how we're doing that? Well, it would take too much effort to form laws from scratch, so we're just going to adopt all the European laws and then pick out the bits we don't like. Yeahhh.
And finally . . . many people voted leave because they thought we'd get money. I believe a 350 million figure was quoted. Since the referendum, vote leavebhave tried to deny that they'd ever explicitly used the 350 million figure. Also, it's worth noting that in just THE NIGHT AFTER the referendum, we lost more money that we'd ever given the the EU in all the years we'd been a member. Yes, we lost that much money. In one night.
So yeah, that worked out.

Oh and now it'll be harder to go on holiday and harder to get cheap mobile phone deals in Europe. Loving that.

So yeah. Not happy. Spent the past few years being glad I was young enough that we'd be over the 2008 recession by the time I'd be going to uni, and now what am I landed in? Another recession. I'm mad at the politicians. I'm mad at the people who didn't think before they voted. I'm mad at the racists who are putting signs saying "go home Polish vermin" near primary schools. And I am damn scared for the future.

... before the vote all the news over here about Britain was ok and stuff about your queen... now its about how your country is crashing and burning and you all have no money ;) I think the Brits just pushed the self destruct button a few million times ;)

... what I dont understand is that nothing has happened yet... you guys havent left the eu and wont do for at least 2 years so why are you literally taking your country and tearing it to pieces??? From the outside it looks like you guys are just doing all this random stuff to your country and no one else understands it haha ;)

So if ive got this right... you guys voted to be poorer instead of richer and now everyone is freaking out because youre poorer like you voted for... the non orange Trump looking man wants to be prime minister because he got what he wanted and your current prime minister is leaving because he lost... while all your little children like Wales Ireland and Scotland are all wanting to be independent???
... what the hell is wrong with you guys??? ;) like everything was fine and now it seems like the UK is just freaking out for no reason all of a sudden ;) I feel sorry for you guys of course I do but im not gonna lie... it makes no sense what you guys are doing... Its like your politicians are gremlins and someone fed them after midnight ;)

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

Hey.

There was a nice spreadsheet showing exactly what we'd gain lose going from EU to EEA but I can't find it anymore. I guess some of the reasons are good and some are bad but people weren't really voting on what they wanted for Britain.

It was all heavily influenced by media. It seems to be a conspiracy, to be honest. An agenda was pushed very hard. Somebody wanted to weaken the UK, and succeeded, that's for sure.

For example, one of the things people claimed UK will have if they left is freedom, independence, sovereignty. UK already has that. In fact, leaving EU and joining EEA will result in taxation without representation. Such freedom, much reverse revolution.

Staying in EEA also ensures continued immigration from EU, no change here, but now without information from the EU anti-terror forces. Because the newspapers must really want more terror attacks?

What is surprising, however, is that areas that benefit the most from EU funding voted the most to leave. Mostly rural areas. Let's hope the end of funding, lack of investment, cessation of new job opportunities, rise of unemployment, and devaluation of currency doesn't adversely affect them. The folks loved the recession so much they brought it back!

I really hope Ireland and Scotland can do their thing and stay in the EU, since leave campaign was so big on the whole independence thing.

But that's just my opinion.

(I don't think Wales wants to be independent but that woman in the article wants it.. And thinks Wales wants it ..

There are pros and cons to staying and leaving the EU

It was a really 50/50 decision for me

Yes thins will be tough for a few years but it may have benefits in the long run

Aaaanyways hello *waves*)

Oh uh im really super happy thank you... these have been some strange but insanely good few days... I just got $280 for a few trading cards my ex left in my house so im super happy because the money is gonna go in my tattoo removal fund and im gonna have the stupid thing burned with a lazor and its gonna be awesome...
... then apparently um im in an Internet relationship now with my best friend/apparently now girlfriend Patricia... I have no idea how that happened like seriously no clue but apparently it did so yay for me :)
... $280 richer, a tattoo less (soon!) and a girlfriend uh yeah productive few days for me I think! :)

Feraaaa32 said...

hello lauren and that sounds like you're really angry at your ex XD

Inky Flame said...

(Awww that's sweet!!!
I don't know when I'll fit my tattoo in.. ;-;)

LaurenXIV said...

Haha im not angry at her I dont get angry at people ;) im not happy with her but not angry :)

Uh Inky youre pretty young right??? I wouldnt say getting a tattoo is a good idea this young even if you can legally get one :) really one of my online friends got one at 30 and its a beautiful flower/vine kinda design that covers her whole back so I think you should save up for a really artistic one instead of just getting one because you can :)

Feraaaa32 said...

That's good for you.

I am angry literally all the time. But I am starting to like it :D

Inky Flame said...

(I've planned this tattoo for ages and ages, as in years
It's personal to me and small.. I plan on getting it on my stomach)

Inky Flame said...

(Hey fera

Why be angry all the time?)

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

Hey, Chloe!

What sort of benefits would it have in the long run? I don't see any positives whatsoever.

@Lauren yay sounds great! :)

*thinks tattoos look great but knows they eventually end up looking worse*

LaurenXIV said...

Haha im never angry... I get annoyed sometimes but never properly angry :)

Thats probably ok then Inky :)

Haha mine isnt great Kas ;) a reminder of a bad time in my life that will be soon burned with a lazor :) if I can help it im also not gonna have any anaesthetic because it costs $50 per treatment to have it and I wanna feel the stupid tattoo burn ;)

Ouch, Lauren.

Why unite? Scotland and NI wanted to stay. They should leave UK and join EU. It's only fair.

Inky Flame said...

(Yes

I mean those who remain out of the EU should unite
Not blame people who support brexit)

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

Heard this one.

An Englishman, a Scotsman and an Irishman walk into a bar...

The Englishman wanted to go so they all had to leave.

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

The Welsh left and then asked if they could still have a pint

Feraaaa32 said...

I am not angry on a personal basis most of the times though. I am generally just furious :)

eh I don't know inky, in the time I've spent in this existence, that's what I've come to hehe :)

Inky Flame said...

(But how old are you?

You're young, you may change your attitude in years to come)

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

Idk what's gonna happen but if the UK disintegrates and the flag becomes a useless relic then I guess we made the right choice

Inky Flame said...

(We won't know till we come to that bridge)

LaurenXIV said...

... well the people who voted to leave are kinda to blame haha if its a bad decision of course people are gonna blame the people who voted for it they shouldnt have done... I dont think people should suffer for something they didnt choose so I guess saying "were gonna be poorer because of you you morons" is a more natural response than "were gonna be poorer now but thats ok it doesnt matter lets all be friends"... money is kinda hard for me to come by and if I ended up being poorer because of something other people chose and not me I wouldnt be happy so they have a right to feel that way :)

Kas I heard a guy earlier in the diner who was talking about the EU and things with his friend... he said democracy wasnt working for the Brits because it didnt account for mass stupidity and they should be communists instead haha ;) from what I overheard I think he must have lost some money because of it :)

Inky Flame said...

(But I've seen people say that those who voted to leave are racist and xenophobic )

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

Idk it's just

I remember a moment in Skulduggery Pleasant where Valkyrie's mother lost her job at the bank and she was so upset she couldn't provide for her family and... that's what's happening in London right now. Banks are pulling out, people will lose their jobs, and have nobody to blame but their fellow citizens who voted leave :/

LaurenXIV said...

... and some of them will probably be ;) if youre being called something youre not it doesnt really matter because it doesnt matter what people think of you but what you know to be true about yourself... but um hasnt there been an increase in racist stuff happening in the uk since it happened???
... to me there are some bad things that increase racism and xenophobia and things
... sports is one of them... if youre seeing another country as the enemy its gonna increase racist things happening
... and this is kinda the same... youve been told for months bad things about a group of countries so theres gonna be an increase in racist and xenophobic things which means that everyone who voted to stay is gonna think youre racist... its just the bad people being a bad example of a group of people who voted a certain way...

... but to me i always vote for the least racist person and the person who cares the most about the environment
... so to me if i lived in the uk id have voted remain because youre getting rid of peaceful cooperation and trading with other countries in favor of... i guess youre behaving like spoilt kids... you think you can have everything and none of the bad things and that isnt the way these things work...
... from what ive heard the uk is just another member of the eu but youre constantly demanding special treatment... i think the attitude of the people who want to leave from what ive seen is just plain wrong :( you need cooperation and trading and everything and you need strength in numbers especially now... getting rid of that doesnt seem like a good move for England or for you know being anti-racist... it just seems like its gonna attract all the bad people to me... a bit like Trump for us :)

LaurenXIV said...

oh and apparently theres a huge rise in domestic abuse reports whenever a big sports event happens... im not a huge fan of sports anyway but it kinda shows how these things can affect people :)
