@Taia: You REMEMBER your undedicated pages? O_O

@Dragona: Yeah.
But sometimes I think it's not just about whether they use autotuning or not.
Sometimes they can use autotuning and it doesn't matter because the song is still brilliant because of what they're saying.
Which doesn't often happen with modern pop music, but yeah.
And they do have talent, although it depends what talent you're looking for. Like, quite a few of them have vocal talent.
(Others, less so.)
And other times, sometimes it's made my machines and doesn't have much meaning and isn't sung very well, but the atmosphere is done well.

@Matex: Yeah. :)

Star Inkbright said...

@Mara: NO. -_-

Alastair Cruciatus said...

*laughs lightly* And it's still afraid of me. Pathetic creature.

Star Inkbright said...

Pretty much every artist uses MACHINES, however.

Edward Fletcher said...

Hello Maralie

Yes Alastair, you were being evil the last time, but I am sure you are not anymore?

Star Inkbright said...

@Mr. Who: I don't believe in evility, just saying :P

Mary Contrary said...

... Okay, I'll dedicate to people who we haven't seen for some time suddenly appearing, and being all WWHHHHHEEEEEE:) because of that.
And also to meeting people who are new to you, because that's important.

(ordinarily, I'd elaborate, but, yeah. :P)

@Mara: *hugs* :) :) :) :) :)
I'm very glad to hear it. :)

@Matex: *nods* (hasn't heard of Chekhov, and will have to look that up later o0) I get that, totally. :)
And, yeah. :P

Edward Fletcher said...

Modern pop music rarely contains more than a few words that are repeated over and over again.

Maralie Lily Charm said...

Star - they do :P Every artist uses autotune for their albums, to "make it sound better". It really depends on how much autotune they use, though.

Matex Von Darkhour - マテクス said...

"every artist" is a FAR too broad term. Compared to the sheer amount of music that exists, only a tiny fraction use autotune haha

Adra Cruciatus said...

*Shrugs and leaves them to go work on her stone tablet, sitting at her desk inside*

Alastair Cruciatus said...

Evil is a relative term I'm quite used to being labeled with, but what's given you the impression that I'm any less cruel now than I was before?

Star Inkbright said...

@Mr. Who: Yeah, I've heard that said on YouTube before tons of times as well. :P It's generally not true.

(Why the hell am I DEFENDING modern pop music here when I don't even usually like it? O_O)

@Mara: Yeah. Sure. -_-
I don't believe that.
It can often sound a bit edited on albums because vocalists/singers will sing lines over and over again and the best ones will be selected and put together. And a song isn't just played live and recorded, bits are played, and then stuck together so they all match up neatly in time. Beats are like that, too. That's why live music is so !ed. :)
And that's why artists don't just make records, they go on tour and prove that they can play their songs live and they're awesome.

Maralie Lily Charm said...

Not all pop music is bad...
Actually, I don't think any pop music is bad.
Everyone has their own opinions and you really shouldn't bash theirs by saying "pop music is awful" and "that artist has no talent" because I can tell you right now that One Direction and Little Mix are absolutely amazing live. Also with acapella and acoustic.

saying an artist is "awful" is like saying a type of medicine is awful. just because it doesn't work for you, doesn't mean it can't save lives. honestly.

Star Inkbright said...

@Mara: *nods at Matex* Yeah.

Edward Fletcher said...

The fact that you are apparently more kind towards people. I understand being labeled as evil.

Alastair Cruciatus said...

...You think I'm kind?

Dragona Pine said...

I think pop music from the past decade is horrible.

Adra Cruciatus said...

Amen, Mara!

Mary Contrary said...

@Star: I write them down. XD

@Mara: Most sucessful recording artists use pitch correction of some form, I expect.
Not all, but probably the majority, yeah. :)
(I always feel like autotune is the harsher term which makes it feel robotic and automatic and without feeling. Pitch correction sounds more real, I think, because it's exactly what it says on the tin. *nods* )

Star Inkbright said...

@Mara: That's why I'm using the terms 'usually' and 'generally'.
I generally think that modern pop music is bad. Or at least not that good.
I don't admit that there are exceptions.
(Although even when good music is made - like, I put some songs from Now 83 on my main playlist because I have the album because it was on my laptop already because I was putting it on my sister's phone, and I'll go "Ooh that one's quite good" and put it on, and then I'll go "MEH METAL IS BETTER" and take it off again lol. XD)

Edward Fletcher said...

Yes Alastair

Star Inkbright said...

*I do admit that there are exceptions
*DO
*DOOOOOOOOO
*SORRY WORD TRANSPOSITION SORRY D:

@Taia: Really? O_O
I SHOULD DO THAT.
(or copy and paste onto a Word document. :P)

@Taia: Yeah. :) *smiiles*
*hugs her and Mara*

Star Inkbright said...

*but not always
*just most of the time

Mary Contrary said...

*agrees with Mara*
*aaaaallllll the way*

The music I listen to doesn't tend to include pop music, but that doesn't mean that I don't respect it.
Because art is individual.
And I'm writing down what Mara said about it being like medication because :O YES. :) :) :)

Star Inkbright said...

And of course some pop music is bad, Mara. There has to be some that's bad. Some metal music SUCKS, and I will happily admit that. That's why you can't be just like "I like metal music." You have to be like "I like good metal music."

Matex Von Darkhour - マテクス said...

Not going to disagree with that Maralie, not all pop music is bad, no, and One Direction are fairly decent. But it isn't even the artists that I really have a problem with. It's the production values and the studios, mainly. I think there's far too many songs just about sex and money and drugs and they are written lazily with meaningless trashy lyrics and completely industry standard composing and producing. There is no effort involved and generally, no talent. That's my justification for saying an artist has no talent, not just because they make pop music. But like I said, a lot of them do, so I try not to bash something just for being pop.

Star Inkbright said...

@Taia: Yes - Mara's had that medication analogy for a while and it's a really perfect one. :) :) :)

Maralie Lily Charm said...

And also, can I just say one more thing?

If you say "*insert a certain artist in here, for example Cher Lloyd* is shit", you cannot expect Cher Lloyd fans to just say "okay". They will viciously attack you like wild dogs to fresh meat.

But if you dare say "_____ is shit" or "_____ is awful", don't you even think for a second you can pull the "but it's my opinion!!1!11" card.

If it was your opinion, you would not be using words like "shit" and you would not have to say it was your opinion.

Alastair Cruciatus said...

Then I wish you luck with your delusions.

*approaches Valencia's house, carefully inspecting her walls to see what they're made of*

Maralie Lily Charm said...

I feel very strongly about this sort of thing haha

Star Inkbright said...

@Matex: *nods in agreement*
And - yes.
A lot of pop music is bad, but that's not because it's pop, it's because it's BAD. It just also happens to be pop.

Adra Cruciatus said...

*Frowns, leaning over the tablet; a few if the words look unfamiliar*
*Sighs, tucking it away, and then gathers up her things, going to the back yard, and reaching under her shirt to unbind her wings, the launches herself into the sky*

Edward Fletcher said...

Alastair, there is one name I can say to prove my point. Adra.

I agree with Star, some pop music is ok but some isn't. Although I don't really listen to pop really

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

Back

*mutters about being called a pathetic creature*
*glares at a tree and sits on the ground*
*in deep thought again which usually isn't that good in all honestly*

Dragona Pine said...

Maralie - saying "x is shit" would be a shorter way of thinking "I think x is shit". So therefore it would be their opinion.
As for people who would be really rude at you for saying things like that - they're stupid. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. And that's my opinion. :P

Star Inkbright said...

@Mara: Yes.
I think that as far as opinions goes -
Like, if you didn't like Cher Lloyd, you would say you didn't personally care for Cher Lloyd, and probably you could explain why as well.
Because that is your opinion, and you're justified in saying it.
But it's just courtesy to say it politely and not outright insult people. -_-
And furthermore, I think that fans of Cher Lloyd should offer the same courtesy, and not just go mad and insult the person, because that makes them as bad as/worse than them (depending on how bad the first person was). They should probably explain their views politely, though.
HOWEVER, I realise that people can feel strongly about music, so angry voices are probably unavoidable. Insulting, however, isn't.
But that's how it would be in an ideal world, and the world is far from ideal, so of course it won't work like that, and also, tons of people will disagree with me and think things should be done differently, and that's fine. :)

Adra Cruciatus said...

It's okay to be passionate, Mara!

Mary Contrary said...

@Mara: You just made it into my quote drawer.
AND I just tore Captain Kirk off the top of a post-it note pad to write it down.
Quite remarkable. ;P

*not really reading all of the comments, because there are too many for my distant little brain to handle. SO I'm not ignoring people, just not paying full attention. Sorry. :P*

Maralie Lily Charm said...

Dragona - Actually, no it isn't. And if you expected people to know that you were stating your opinion, you should have said "My opinion is that ___" or "I think ___ is bad, but that is just my opinion."

Saying "___ is shit" basically makes it seem like you're trying to state a fact.

And of course everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but when people start being rude to your idol, it is not an opinion. It's pure hate.

Star Inkbright said...

@Dragona: But you shouldn't use strong words like 'shit', unless you're trying to annoy/upset people, really.
Idk.
You also shouldn't tell people what they should or shouldn't do. :/

*Adding to my earlier statement - there's also a lot of music that isn't pop and is bad. I don't think pop music is alone in being awful. I think, however, that because pop music is so popular, it gets a lot of hate from people, and although this hate is often justified, because there IS a lot of bad (or just not good) pop music, but they would be just as justified insulting another genre, probably.

Maralie Lily Charm said...

Star - Exactly.
But I do think that Cher Lloyd fans have the right to be rude to people who are rude to both Cher Lloyd and the Brats (Cher Lloyd fans). It's the hater's fault, not the fans.

Maralie Lily Charm said...

Taia - I feel special c:
*hugs*

Matex Von Darkhour - マテクス said...

On that note though (not disagreeing with everything but just pointing this out) it CAN be viable to say something is shit. Some things really are. That can still be subject to opinion though I guess.

Star Inkbright said...

@Mara: When people are ebing rude to your idol, they probably are just stating an opinion, or not thinking. Emphasis on the 'not thinking'. They won't think about how it will hurt you, you know?

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

*is starting to agree with Alastair calling her a pathetic creature*
*wants to punch a tree*
*in her mind stands at the top of that stupid spiral*
*is slowly falling down it*
*slams her head against her knees sighing*

Maralie Lily Charm said...

I'm just going to say that just because you think something is "shit", doesn't mean everyone does. It's your opinion. The way people are stating that "some music is shit", I just disagree with.
If it was "shit", the artists wouldn't have fans.

Adra Cruciatus said...

Oh! I apologize, Alastair. I wouldn't have left if I knew you'd show up!

*Soars above the sky, her large grey wings flapping and sending her speeding forward*

Star Inkbright said...

*and they should, that's why they shouldn't be rude to your idol

@Mara: I think they are justified in being rude to people who are being rude to them, in normal-people terms, but in Star-everyone-should-forgive-revenge-is-stupid-the-world-is-positive-yaaaay-I'm-sad terms, if you try to solve rudeness with rudeness, you're just adding to the negativity and increasing it.
(Which is me being anti-revenge, sorry - you're talking total sensibleness. :))

Maralie Lily Charm said...

Star - I get that. But I still think that the fans have the right to say things back to the person hating. I think it's their own fault for not thinking beforehand.

But we don't live in a flawless world, sadly.

Matex Von Darkhour - マテクス said...

Actually, thinking about this, I do think that it is implied to be my opinion. If I say something is shit I usually mean it's my opinion, or at least justify why I think it, and I think I should be able to say that without offending anyone cause I am just as passionate about music. I have had numerous discussions with people where one of us has said the other persons tastes are shit or rubbish but they're still interesting conversations cause we both get that it is about opinion :)

Mary Contrary said...

For the record, I don't have a problem with people writing about sex/money/drugs/whatever, either. It's probably more about HOW they write it. idk.

@Matex: Well, shit is shit. :P
I don't know how accurately it can be applied as an adjective, really. Because it's an opinionative adjective. It's like saying something's nice, or cute, or attractive, or ugly, or depressing - because those terms mean different things to different people?
You can probably say that something is shit in terms of meeting a certain aim/objective, but not at meeting EVERY aim/objective, because if you didn't meet any purpose at all you wouldn't exist. :)

Maralie Lily Charm said...

Edward Fletcher said...

Bye Mara

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

*wraps her arms around her knees and closes her eyes*

Star Inkbright said...

@Mara: You know, it's not what you like, it's why you like something.
And probably the fans of music that people say is shit - maybe I'll think it's shit as well - they'll like it for perfectly valid reasons and the way their brains links these things will be perfectly reasonable. And they will find a lot of reason to like their artist, and if they were to talk to someone who hated that artist, and that someone was open minded, then that someone would come to see what that person saw in them and they would cease to hate them.
Because people make lots of links in their heads unique to them, and people can see things in things that no one else sees, and although they may be liking something that I think is shittier than someone else that I like, they could like what they like for much better reasons than why I like what I like, so their liking for that thing is probably worth more than my liking for my thing, even though my thing is (in some people's opinions) better.
So is my thing really better?

(I don't think any of that was understandable, sorry. :P)

Adra Cruciatus said...

Still...

Everyone- I think it's just about common courtesy. Although something might be your opinion, you could be hurting someone else's feelings as implying that something is unlikable, then they are as well.

See?

I think everyone should just be aware about what they're saying, and whom they're saying it to. It's a simple fact of life that shows good manners.

Mary Contrary said...

@Mara: *hugs back* WEll, you ARE special, so... :)

Matex Von Darkhour - マテクス said...

So I listened to Lost, and it is honestly laughable; what kind of Troll would dislike that song because of the so-called auto tune? That's not even auto tune that you hear mostly, it's just other effects on top of it. Reminds me a bit of Eiffel 65 actually bahaha. But I think it's fine, it's two styles being worked together and there is talent, production value, and expression. People judging it just for using auto tune are pathetic.

Awh, you and Adra must be cute

Mary Contrary said...

@Star: Well, when you read YouTube comments, you're almost expecting them all to be idiots.
And so when somebody says something sensible, you're just like O_O , because when you're drowning in the middle of the ocean a floating piece of driftwood is a pretty big deal.
*nods*
And also, it's interesting to see what people have to say. *nods again*

Very well, you are right. Being evil is fun.

Star Inkbright said...

@Matex: You think so? I don't. I think they're too diverse to have a 'very distinct sound' :)

@Taia: Yeah, I know. :)
Once I saw someone on YouTube comments who was actually awesome and nice so I subscribed to him even though I don't even know him or want to watch any of his videos because I was just like OHMYGOSH.
Hey, though - once I was playlisting 1D, and the maker of a video was like "Hey, it's my first video so if it's rubbish that's why", and I was expecting the usual "This is shit" "The timing's off" "Everyone always gives that excuse" stuff, and you had about four people commenting going "This is awesome!" "Well done!" "This is a really good first video!" and I was just like O_O WHAT IS THIS MADNESS O_O

I like reading them. Occasionally they're good. On this one Avenged Sevenfold video someone commented saying they'd just found A7X, and sometime commented saying "Well, Welcome to the Family :)" and then we had a massive chain of people putting song names into sentences so it sounded like they were just having a conversation (really badly, of course, but still) and you were just like HAHA and you got this proper sense of community and it was cool. :)
I can't remember what I said . . .

I don't understand like... the people who are rude when someone criticises something they like.
I really like playing Mass Effect. And one of my friends, when he found out I played it, the first thing he said was, "Mass Effect is shit". Because he prefers FPS games like Battlefield rather than third person shooters that Mass Effect is.
And I wasn't like crazy about him saying it was shit. My response was, "Meh. I enjoy it." and we left it as that.
Fans can be TOO extreme. And I think when someone says that it's shit and they respond in anger it's TOO much. Borderline stupidity. I think that, in those cases, it's as much of the fan's fault for being so extreme about it than it is for the hater for being at the other extreme.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and if for example you say "'x' is amazing!" - by what the fans are doing then the people who dislike whatever 'x' is has as much right to be as angry at them as the fans would have in response to the people who dislike 'x' saying they hate it.
Idk, I just think extremism is stupid. Especially when people's opinions are met with anger because of it. If you like or dislike something, fair enough - but don't be angry at other people for having a different opinion to you.
But I do have to say that for the fans, people saying they hate what you like isn't a personal insult or anything and shouldn't be taken as such. And they shouldn't see a point in defending what they like in violence because everyone's entitled to their own opinion. And if people have feelings about something as strong as that you're in no way going to change each other's minds, so it's just pointless. *shrugs*

@Star, whoa, you haven't noticed? I don't mean genre I mean sound style haha, you can tell an Avenged song from a mile away. Which is good, that' what you want, diverse music but a distinct sound. If everyone sounded the same music would be boring. But Avenged sound like Avenged, the singing style is very particular, and the guitar melodies have a certain style (off the top of my head I think it's largely based around harmonic minors but that could be wrong). The production sound is pretty particular too but the vocals especially give it away. It's great :)

@Star: *nods* Yeah. :)
I remember seeing on a TMBG video somebody commented saying how he showed the song to his friends and 10 seconds in they said "it sounds like country I don't like country", and how that's not fair and people should judge music on it's own merit rather than what genre it fits into. And I was just sat there reading these two sentences like O_O CAN I PLEASE BE YOU? :P
It annoys me a bit when people comment on cover videos/songs like "this is shit, sounds nothing like the original", and I'm there like THAT IS THE POINT OF COVER VERSIONS. And then some YT user points that out, about how it's another artist's interpretation and what would be the point in just trying to exactly reproduce a song? I like finding comments that I agree with. :P / :)

And- yeah, I like that, too. It's so nice when people get along. :P

I don't listen to A7X very much, but when I do, it sounds like A7X to me.
Also, Tom Waits, like his musical output is so HUGE and probably more varied in terms of sound than any other artist I'm familiar enough with to comment on that. But he sounds like him. Because he is him.
Like, you can dress in whatever clothes you want, but people will still recognize you by one value or another. :) ^^

*Throws electric ball at sword blade* Stop fighting please.

Dragona Pine said...

*moves sword out of the way of the electric ball*

*tilts head*

Edward Fletcher said...

*Speaks into watch* Send medical help to coast *Hospital drone heads for Silente*

Edward Fletcher said...

Dragona, put the sword away.

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

*starts clawing chunks off the rock on her arm*
*pushes it off her arm*
*is even angrier at herself now. She can't even end herself without failing*

Alastair Cruciatus said...

*looks over at Who, his eyes going black, as he examines Who's name in an attempt to figure out his discipline*

Star Inkbright said...

@Taia: That's a good analogy. :)
And - yes, but I didn't notice Sir. :P

(Nothing personal - I often fail to notice people/comments. :P)

(I am reading, Silente! :O)

Well, of course A7X sound like A7X. They're A7X.
But idk. I don't think anyone would listen to Waking The Fallen, not knowing who it was by, and think "Avenged Sevenfold."
And I think, if people had only listened to City of Evil, they might struggle to pinpoint, say, Scream as A7X.

Adra Cruciatus said...

*Takes a deep breath, then turns, sprinting away from Alastair quickly, binding her wings to her back as she goes*

Edward Fletcher said...

*sees Alastair* You already know me by another name.

Mary Contrary said...

@Star: Thank you. :)
And- You asked where he was, so I showed you? :P

And- Well, when I'm able to use headphones, I will listen, and get back to you on that, then? :P
(If I remember. o0) ^^

Alastair Cruciatus said...

((I'll recognize your name, in that case, Who.))

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

*glares at the hospital drone*
*walks to the other end of the rock shelf and its on the edge*
*wonders if she could fall before another rock shelf stopped her*

Edward Fletcher said...

((ok)) Perhaps you will remember me now *Time door opens to the dawn of man*

Star Inkbright said...

@Taia: Um.
Oh.
Um.
Yes. O_O
:P

@Taia: It's fine, you don't have to. :)

*hugs*

Adra Cruciatus said...

I'm watching earnestly!

Alastair Cruciatus said...

((Edward, is it not?))

*sigh* I do hope you realize how unnecessary that is. I'm staring directly at your true name.
*his eyes return to their usual dark brown, and he steps through the wall* *draws a knife with a dark blade that emanates soft black light at his touch, and throws it directly between Valencia's shoulders as she runs* *it'll burn through anything it touches, so she could potentially dodge it, but an attempt to block it with armor or most anything else would be futile*

Edward Fletcher said...

((Correct)) Perhaps you could tell me what that name is so I could enhance my power?

Matex Von Darkhour - マテクス said...

I think I was wrong, not harmonic minor, maybe a mode of one, but it's more of a blues thing, still got that semitonal step which is the key thing really. And they base a lot of their melodies around it. Of course it could just be me, I have studied music and stuff so it's a lot easier for me to recognize like a style of playing for example.

As for Waking The Fallen, that is a completely unfair example, it's only an intro haha. Their sound is still there but without verses and choruses it's harder to pick up on :P

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

*climbs the cliff face one handed*
*shea given up caring now*
*she doesn't give a damn about if she lives or if she dies*
*she won't help sway the scales either way*
*starts walking back to the clearing*

Adra Cruciatus said...

*She ducks and rolls, the knife going through one of her wings* *Hits the ground, and red blood flows from the whole in her wing and she closes her eyes, taking deep breaths* *Holds the wing tightly*

Dragona Pine said...

*appears behind Alastair again and slashes sword at his back*

Matex Von Darkhour - マテクス said...

Of course I'm kind of talking shit, most metal is based around semitonal passing notes, but they have a certain way of doing it, with a certain production sound. And you can kind of tell it's them just in the way they play it. Like I said though, the singing is the most indicative.

Edward Fletcher said...

*Pushes Dragona back nand throws knife* Stop with the violence

Dragona Pine said...

*catches knife*

*decides to keep it*

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

*reaches where the others are*
*stares at them all blankly*
*walks on*

Alastair Cruciatus said...

*slowly approaches Valencia* So what brings you here, to Blogland? *uses air to catch the knife before it can hit the ground or a tree, and licks some of her blood off the blade*

Matex Von Darkhour - マテクス said...

*sees Silente walking back and runs over, smothering her with hugs*

Administrator Kestrel LeStarre-Sparrowhawk The Celestial said...

*appears briefly*

O.O

This music discussion, holy crap. And how you guys are capable of tying it in with, like, acceptance, and not criticising other peoples opinions unless they're being jerks about yours, and, just, woah. O.O

Edward Fletcher said...

Dragona, why do attack Alastair?

Alastair Cruciatus said...

*the slash cuts through his back, and he dematerializes as he heals himself* If you're going to attack me, in the future, at least make it painful.

Adra Cruciatus said...

*Glances at him? Taking a deep breath, slowly pulling a few bandages from her satchel to wrap them up*
I'm an anthropologist; you can do the math.

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

*stares at Matex*
*blinks a few times*
*hugs him back*
*whispers* This isn't fair.

Administrator Kestrel LeStarre-Sparrowhawk The Celestial said...

Why are y'all fighting? *wags finger at Alastair*

Adra Cruciatus said...

Dragona Pine said...

*throws an electric shockwave at Alastair*

*tilts head at Who*

Because he is a murderer.

Administrator Kestrel LeStarre-Sparrowhawk The Celestial said...

*would help Valencia but I'm not here for very long*
*also one of my characters is in the hospital and the other is with her, so...*

Edward Fletcher said...

Alastair, I propose that we team up.

Lewis Ravenscroft / Rhydian Blake said...

Hello Blogland

Edward Fletcher said...

And why does that give you the right to kill him. You do not attack me or anybody else.

Administrator Kestrel LeStarre-Sparrowhawk The Celestial said...

*waves at Masters* Hello!

Edward Fletcher said...

Hello Masters

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

Hullo M

Matex Von Darkhour - マテクス said...

*whispers in her ear*
What isn't, dearest?

Alastair Cruciatus said...

*doesn't currently physically exist in this plane of reality, and therefore is unaffected by the shockwave*

*shrugs at Kestrel* I like to watch people suffer. They generally tend to fight back.

Sure, anthropologist, but why specifically study people here?

Lewis Ravenscroft / Rhydian Blake said...

((Btw we've met before :P you just have to guess who I am. Or not. I'm not bothered. What's going on atm?))

Lewis Ravenscroft / Rhydian Blake said...

@Alastair: Well, yes, humans tend to have a will to live. We're funny like that.

Administrator Kestrel LeStarre-Sparrowhawk The Celestial said...

@Masters: I figured that, yeah :) Um, Alastair's attacking Valencia, Valencia's fighting back, Dragona's helping her, and Mr. who(aka Edward) is defending Alastair. I think.

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

*looks him in the eyes*
This. Us. It's not fair.
*lays her head against his chest*
I don't want to lose you to time. I don't want to drag you down with me.

Alastair Cruciatus said...

Team up? What is this, preschool?

Star Inkbright said...

@Matex: I meant the album . . . :P

Yeah. But yeah.

You said "very distinctive," originally. They are distinctive, but not VERY distinctive. :)

Anyway.

@Kes: Yeah . . . that's always been one of the things I've loved about Blogland. :) How we can like different music and never end up, like, insulting each other about it.

Adra Cruciatus said...

Hello, Masters! *Shakes hand*

Why not, Alastair? Magical communities are prevalent throughout history. I have an assignment for this current time...
*Shuts her eyes once she wraps her wing up, and flaps it experimentally, then binds it, pulling her sweater around her shoulders*

Edward Fletcher said...

No Alastair, but you may be useful in my plan to destroy history

Administrator Kestrel LeStarre-Sparrowhawk The Celestial said...

@Star: Yeah, it's great :) and it's not just music, either. It's books and movies and games, and we all have long discussions and debates but it never turns into an argument(or almost never :3) and it's wonderful :)

Star Inkbright said...

@Kes: Yeah. :) :) :) *hugs*
I love Blogland. :)

Matex Von Darkhour - マテクス said...

Oh HAHAHAHA, sorry! I will have to listen to the album :) But I still think they have a very distinctive sound, like oh my god, their guitars. In post chorus riffs and solos, they squeal, they play in intervals (I'm guessing thirds) and they have a high end treble mix. They play them over the top of palm muted riffs which use semitone gaps branching from pentatonic based chords, in between double strummed root chords. But that lead, it literally squeals! It also is consistently played at semiquaver speed and modulates at least once (genius modulation too, not pop lifts which are so boring [imo]) before returning to the verse. you can just TELL IT IS THEM :'D
And that is not me yelling at anyone or being critical, I literally get excited about this stuff hehe :3

Alastair Cruciatus said...

*tosses his knife at Who* ((If he catches it, for reference, it'll burn into his hand until he lets it go.)) Why should I care for the destruction of history, or anything you're interested in at all?

*glances with interest back at Valencia* Why do you have wings?

Star Inkbright said...

@Matex: I think we could all tell you were excited. :)
*hugs*
Yeah. :)
I get what you mean. :)

Administrator Kestrel LeStarre-Sparrowhawk The Celestial said...

*stares at Matex*
*backs away slowly*
*has no idea what he just said but is seriously impressed at all the technical music terms and stuffs*

Mary Contrary said...

Hi Kestrel! :)
Hello, Masters! *waves*

@Star: :P *hugs back* :)

@Kes: Well, because Blogland people are amazing, and things are all interlinked and stuff. *nods* :P/ :)
And, *hugs* :)

Lewis Ravenscroft / Rhydian Blake said...

((Still confused to what is going on :/ ))

Who, why do you wish to destroy history?

The Grave of a Coward said...

*the Midnight Hotel blooms into being*

Hullo.

I'm afraid I will be distant, like your hopes and dreams.

Administrator Kestrel LeStarre-Sparrowhawk The Celestial said...

((the backing away is just what I do when I don't understand something, btw. It's not because you're excited :P))

Matex Von Darkhour - マテクス said...

And I'll listen to Symphony X and Bullet and Dope which all have at least two of those things in common but they all still sound totally different so it's just awesome :3

*hugs Silente* that isn't a problem at all, I'll be here, don't worry :)

Lewis Ravenscroft / Rhydian Blake said...

Howdy Crowley.

Edward Fletcher said...

((Masters, because that is what I do. My character trys to stop humans destroying the mworld))

*Moves out of way of knife*

Administrator Kestrel LeStarre-Sparrowhawk The Celestial said...

Hey, Taia!

*waves at Annika* that's....not very nice *pokes*

Adra Cruciatus said...

I suppose you'll find out eventually... I'm a bit of a genetic experiment. My DNA is fused with that of a few animals.. *Shrugs*
*Stands* I suppose I should go, I must tend to a work...thing.

The Grave of a Coward said...

Howdy, Masters.

*frowns at Taia* Why is everyone obsessed with poking me?

Edward Fletcher said...

In that case, I have no use for you *Throws metal ball at Alastair* Catch

Administrator Kestrel LeStarre-Sparrowhawk The Celestial said...

MINE

The Grave of a Coward said...

NO.
It is NOT yours, Kestrel. Shame on your face.

Adra Cruciatus said...

Hello, Clara!

The Grave of a Coward said...

Hullo, Valencia. Short-time-no-see.

Lewis Ravenscroft / Rhydian Blake said...

Who...That is just a little bit strange. The world will end one way or another, why bother trying to save it? it'll end whether it's naturally causes or by silly little humans. Why destroy history?

Edward Fletcher said...

Hello Annika

Star Inkbright said...

@Kes: Yup. :P
That's what I need for my English assessment. But verbally. :P

Hey Clara! :)

Administrator Kestrel LeStarre-Sparrowhawk The Celestial said...
