Oooh FUN!
My editor has read the first (rough) draft of Book 9, and he loves it. I'm on the home stretch now — the end is in sight (in more ways than one). Over the next two or three weeks my head is going to be down and I'm going to working hard to fill in those gaps, to link up those scenes, to write those missing chapters. Right now I'm at 100,000 words. The end result will PROBABLY be about 120,000 words — maybe just slightly shorter than KOTW. Of course, in order to finish the book, I'll need to pick a winner of the Who Gets to Die competition we ran ages ago, and then that lucky reader will get to meet their grisly end...
And because I, and therefore WE, are on the home stretch, this blog is going to be choc-a-block with announcements and reveals over the next few weeks. By the end of THIS week, for example, we'll be revealing the cover for the Armageddon-Outta-Here short story collection. Next week, we'll reveal the full, WRAPAROUND cover for the collection (it's awesome). And the week after that? We'll be revealing the title for the ninth, and last, Skulduggery Pleasant book.

«Oldest ‹Older 1601 – 1800 of 4888 Newer› Newest»See the little things called HTML tags at the bottom of the comment box? You do one like it shows (I for italics, b for bold, not sure about a) when you want to start the Italics and obe with a / before the letter when you want to end them :)
Yep.
Gah, I just tried like 5 times to do that darn italics, AND IT WILL NOT LET ME.
:(((.
Heyyyyy... did you watch my video ded?!
It couldn't open. D:
And it says the tags are not closed. :(
I've gotta go. Bai! :)
I had someone ask to take a picture of my shirt in the hall. I mean we have the shirts for Annie and they have the showtimes, just that was awkward.
I've seen the world
Done it all
Had my cake now
Diamonds, brilliant
And Bel Air now
Hot summer nights, mid July
When you and I were forever wild
The crazy days, city lights
The way you'd play with me like a child
Will you still love me
When I'm no longer young and beautiful?
Will you still love me
When I got nothing but my aching soul?
I know you will, I know you will
I know that you will
Will you still love me when I'm no longer beautiful?
I've seen the world, lit it up
As my stage now
Channeling angels in the new age now
Hot summer days, rock 'n' roll
The way you play for me at your show
And all the ways I got to know
Your pretty face and electric soul
Will you still love me
When I'm no longer young and beautiful?
Will you still love me
When I got nothing but my aching soul?
I know you will, I know you will
I know that you will
Will you still love me when I'm no longer beautiful?
Dear lord, when I get to heaven
Please let me bring my man
When he comes tell me that you'll let him in
Father tell me if you can
Oh that grace, oh that body
Oh that face makes me wanna party
He's my sun, he makes me shine like diamonds
Will you still love me
When I'm no longer young and beautiful?
Will you still love me
When I got nothing but my aching soul?
I know you will, I know you will
I know that you will
Will you still love me when I'm no longer beautiful?
Will you still love me when I'm no longer beautiful?
Will you still love me when I'm not young and beautiful?
*leaps at Adra*
YES I WILL!
:) Hello, Annika, how are you?
Well enough. And you? I feel like we haven't conversed in a while.
I should imagine not, I've not been here lately with frequency.
I'm in a rather great mood, to be honest; I managed to find a website that has the 2013 Great Gatsby movie on it. I've been critiquing it and praising it for the past three hours.
I've fallen in love with that story. And yes, I do think the book is better. *Swoon*
And now I'm thinking of Edna Pontellier.
Oh, how I could go on about her.
Ah, the Great Gatsby. All of my friends hate it with the passion of a thousand fiery suns, but I found the book to be very enjoyable, though tragic. I enjoyed the movie as well; though I think they should've better utilized all the magnificent music that came out of the 20s era.
Ah, do you mean about the hip hop? Will, if you were to put it into a different perspective- Fitzgerald incorporated the music and style of the twenties into his books. Granted, jazz music wasn't enjoyed by all, it was just what was popular at the time.
From an artistic view, perhaps the director was following in his footsteps by using hip hop and rap music, a popular style that, in itself, isn't accepted by all?
But I digress; it's irksome that the directors made Daisy seem likeable, and further that Nick Carraway was in a mental health hospital.
...
*Hugs Gatsby*
*nods*
I've always been fond of the Great Gatsby, though I wouldn't say it's one of my favorite classics.
I wouldn't agree. However, I try to not pick favorites; each book is unique and powerful in it's own way (save those that are Stock Books), but...
Hm.
The Great Gatsby is by far one of my favorites. And The Awakening. And the Crucible. And basically all of Shakespeare. And The Inferno.
And Of Mice and Men, despite that I'm only on the first page.
But nevermind that, I could start a list that would go on for years.
As could I.
*strokes chin thoughtfully*
I too love Shakespeare. The works of H. P. Lovecraft, too. Anything written by Jules Verne or Oscar Wilde, also.
I am not such a fan of Jules Verne, although I have read a few of his works.
And, as hard as it is to tug through, Stephen Crane has his words right. Edith Wharton as well, but her words are a little easier to comprehend.
Both are fantastic, that is.
*is now thinking seriously about it*
I love Mark Twain's books of course, and Jonathan Swift. Robert Frost, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Alexandré Dumas, etc. And of course, all the original Sherlock Holmes stories.
FREEZING YOUR FLESH HURTS SO MUCH!
Also, hey
Silente, freezing my flesh is infinitely preferable to having it burned or peeled away from my bones.
Oh. I should go. Someone is on.
I would marry Emerson or Hawthorne or Poe. Melville I could do without, however his ideas were alright. I can't stand Moby Dick, that is.
Mark Twain? He had a few good quotes, I believe. Huckleberry Finn wasn't my favorite, though.
Frost is amazing, as are the Fireside Poets.
And of course, Sherlock.
Silente, I hope you haven't swallowed dry ice.
No I haven't swallowed dry ice. My dad realised I had a wort (err) so he bought some liquid nitrogen (wort freezer) but he has bad eyes sight. He missed twice and now my skin burns/stings
Also, Zaf- if you're going to be rude, you might as well use my name. Otherwise, there would be no point.
I agree with you about Melville. I never appreciate Huckleberry Finn much either; I tend to enjoy Twain's more obscure works, like A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court, which is one of my all-time favorites.
Ah, someone I knew had one before; that was going to be my second guess, believe it or not.
Ouch.
*shudders*
Much sympathy, Silente.
Ah... I believe I recognize that one, Annika.
Have you ever read Harper Lee? To Kill A Mockingbird is simply divine.
Thanks Annika. Hopefully its worth it
*crosses fingers*
Anyway what y'all talkin bout.
We're discussing classical authors.
*dignified facepalm*
I completely forgot To Kill a Mockingbird! Yes, I read that for school a handful of years ago and it was excellent, I agree.
Ah okay I haven't really read any classics so I can't really give any creative input right now. I hear Moby Dicks good.
*waves hand at the mention of Moby Dick*
Eh . . .
For my classes next year, alongside of my H. British literature, I get to take Shakespeare and Contemporary literature, which I'm excited about. In Shakespeare, we slowly go through two plays then see them live, and I believe we read a handful of books from the past decade for contemporary.
However, if I'm unable to take one of those classes, my "back-up" is Creative writing.
Next year certainly will be busy..
Good?
It's awful.
*jumps in*
NEW POST!!
THERE IS A NEW POST!!
*disappears again*
I haven't seen nearly enough Shakespeare live. Every time I've got, it's been a thoroughly excellent experience. I've seen:
- A Comedy of Errors
- Romeo and Juliet
- Hamlet
- The Tempest
- The Taming of the Shrew
. . . and have read dozens more besides. My favorite is a Comedy of Errors, though. I've always been partial to Shakespeare's comedies.
I'm a bit late to the party, but so much excitement is going on right now... Book 9 is 5 months away...
HELLO!
And, hey, Dragona. :)
#ChaseForBookNine
What I was SAYING
Was that I don't think she'll forgive herself. She'll care more about Niccolo than anything else, but..
Yeah.
Also, serious msd for forensics
Are you still evil then at the moment? I think I met no evil you once...you got kidnapped by Drew and I ended up trying to protect you if I remember rightly..
A comment saying "Comment" filled up the blog's comment section.
I noticed dragona. How are you?
@Adra: :(
*hugs*
Adraaaaaaaaaaaa. D:
Crap.
I'm crying just thinking about this.
ADRA WHY DO YOU KEEP MAKING ME CRY I SWEAR.
Well . . .
Maybe she doesn't need to forgive herself
maybe she just needs to . . .
idk. :/
#ChaseForBookNine
Not me, Silente. Adra. Adra and I are two different people.
But yes, that happened.
She isn't evil, by the way. There's a long speech I could give about her energy, but darkness does not mean evil. It's what people do with darkness that makes things evil. Difference.
not-dark Adra is pretty nice. And caring.
Dark Adra isn't.
-
*Shrugs* I don't know, Star... Sorry :/
I'm fine, thanks. How are you?
Not-dark Adra is wonderful, although she makes me cry as well, because she's so nice but so much shit happens to her and she gets so depressed and :/
I can't even go hug her or anything because she's in roleplay and I'm not. :P
#ChaseForBookNine
*nods*
Hey Dragona, btw! Sorry, I'm all over the place today- I forgot to say hey
I didn't mea evil so much its just that its an easierterm to use. I understand that aall her magic means she loses it an sort of embraces the darkness because she has too...if that's right. Its like in the House of Night Novels- Darkness does not always mean evil, just as light does not equate to good (think I got that right) and dark Adra doesn't seem that bad. I mean, I know she likes to hurt people but for some reason I seem to have started not hating people like that. In fact I'm starting to like those people more and more which is probably worrying...
Question: if you watch a video of people dieing in war through the ages and find it one of the most beautiful things you've seen is that weird/bad?
I'm fine thanks dragona!
No, Silente. It isn't bad. *nods*
And yeah...
@Silente: No. :) *hugs*
And - I think dark Adra IS a bad person.
She likes killing/torturing/eating people and is horribly selfish.
*nods*
#ChaseForBookNine
*Nods to Star*
That, too o-o
Cannibal!Adra xD
@Adra: Yeah. XD
#ChaseForBookNine
Oh good. Because it was. I'm starting to find death beautiful. Just that it can happen so easily. So quickly. And the light fades from their eyes. Its so...beautiful...
..and I'm starting to sound like a murderer. Great. That's worrying.
Adra, how are you?
Hullo. :)
mbd. Thinking. :P
#ChaseForBook9
Hey Taia
I'm a little not okay mixed with a little okay? It's really confusing because it changes so often, really.
And really msd!!
*hugs Taia*
Bye then Dragona! See you when you return! Unless I don't! In which case ignore that earlier sentence!
Hi Silente! :)
Hey, Adrawr! *huggles back* :)
Hi/OK, Dragona! *waves*
#ChaseForBook9
Aladra is nothing. Its not a ship its something i want GONE its over get a grip, it needs to stop. Im in my moment of pure anger, so dont say anything to me.
msd-warning because my internet/laptop is trippy and blegh. :P
How are y'all? :)
#ChaseForBook9
Fine Taia!
Zaf. Email.
*hands Zaf a cookie* Hope yo're doing OK. :/
@Silente: Good to hear. :)
#ChaseForBook9
Hey Taia! :)
Aladra is a ship as much as Ezter is a ship, and Ezter is, unfortunately for some, a ship.
Don't worry, Zaf, Ez is as annoyed as you are. :P
#ChaseForBookNine
Actually, probably not; she's probably experiencing the same amount of negative emotion as you are, but it's spread out over some other emotions more.
#ChaseForBookNine
Hey Star! :)
How are ye?
#ChaseForBook9
@Taia: Mostly good. :)
You? :)
#ChaseForBookNine
@Star: I'm mostly good, too. *laughs* :)
#ChaseForBook9
@Taia: That's . . . mostly good, I guess! :P
#ChaseForBookNine
Thirty seven
@Star: Aye. :P
*hugs Fabi* Hey. :)
#ChaseForBook9
Hi Taia [hugs]
The trains from the North travel toward the South...
Okay!
Sorry, I'm still not here, but-
TAIARAWR *hugs, if you're still here*
I'm actually in a good mood because of the Ships and stuff. It always puts me in a stellar mood :)
:o
That's what I'll do tonight- write my Ships thing or put it on my blog but MAN
YAYAYLVODVSUJKBVSDJBVSDFJKBVSJHKBVSKDBVSDKJSHVSFKJBVSFJ
SO happy :)))
And yeah geometry
@Adra: *hugs back*
I'm glad you're happy. :):):)
#ChaseForBook9
Sorry! D:
I started reading.
Wbvd.
#ChaseForBookNine
Why don't I understand something that is probably simple terminology??
Yay ships!
Wb, Star!
Not sure, Silente? What terminology do you speak of?
Okie, StaR.
Hey, Tempest! What's up?
#ChaseForBook9
I mean this guide!
http://m.wikihow.com/Sew-a-Cloth-Baseball
I DONT UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU DRAW AND WHERE YOU SEW THE STUFF TO!
Well, the dots seem to be for where you cut, so you have some seam allowance, and you actually sew along the solid curved lines, and the straight solid lines are drawing guides.
I must admit, though, I just sort of skimmed and didn't read anything in detail because I'm sort of busy.
That's fine Fabi. I'm just getting confused at the wording. I've taken up a project, basically I want to attempt to make two skulduggery Teddy's (one for me one for Derek) but then I got confused on how to do his head. I decided to do a sphere to make it easier. It isn't that easy as it turns out.
@Silente: Well, you'll probably do better than me. :P
#ChaseForBookNine
I doubt that star. I'm hopeless at this sort of stuff.
Well... You need two of those dumbbell-shaped pieces, and they interlock so that the circles of one line up with the in-betweeny bit of the other, and my brain knows how it works, but I'm not that good at explanations.
Maybe find a tutorial with better pictures and/or a video?
@Silente: Well . . .
Good luck?
And - have faith in yourself. :)
#ChaseForBookNine
I think I get it now. Its a bit like the pattern on a tennis ball. The lines in between the circles joins with the circle of the other piece of fabric right?
Yeah, that's it. :-)
Good luck!
Faith in myself star? That never happens! But I can try either way. I'll keep the first one since that's most likely to be the worst.
I'll try it tomorrow when I'm at my mums.
Sorry.
@Tempest: A Skul-man teddy sounds pretty great. ^^
Good luck / have fun. :)
#ChaseForBook9
Will try :-) well...will try tomorrow. Gtg now. Film on.
@Silente: :)
#ChaseForBookNine
See you, Silente! Have fun! *waves* :)
(mbd)
#ChaseForBook9
So it's my friend's birthday tomorrow (but I won't see her till Sunday), and I haven't got her anything yet and I'm seriously freaking out about it. :/
FORTUNATELY, it is Saturday tomorrow, so I can go and get things, but yeah.
To be perfectly honest, I'd rather like to get her the first couple of Chaos Walking books, because she hasn't read them and Chaos Walking is just awesome, but idk if she'd like them so yeah. :P
#ChaseForBookNine
She's the kind of person who would understand Chaos Walking as well, but I still don't know. D:
So yes.
*continues wandering around aimlessly in circles*
*msd, btw*
#ChaseForBookNine
*oh, not literally walking around aimlessly in circles, although that is also something I like to do . . .*
*although circles can be a bit dizzying*
*they have to be big enough circles*
*I like walking back and forth down the landing, but I only allow myself to do that when no one's upstairs*
#ChaseForBookNine
*wandering
#ChaseForBookNine
So, someone took a tree and cut through the tree twice, making a thin disk out of the ring and stuff.
They then put the tree disk on a record player, which transferred the vibrations onto a piano
It's really cool
http://www.realfarmacy.com/this-is-what-it-sounds-like-when-you-put-tree-rings-on-a-record-player/#yYJbhfGM1I7fkcAv.01
Gtg, fours! :(
#ChaseForBookNine
Bye sweets :)
*the Midnight Hotel grows into being*
*I step out*
*reach into my pocket*
*and pull out my device*
I have here, in my hand, a simple iTouch. It is mine. It is old. I have had it for years. It is a miracle of the machine age.
I have in my hand thousands of bytes of processing power. I have, in my hand, the Internet, at my disposal 24-7. Through the medium, the medium of the Internet, I can accomplish, pardon my French, damn near anything.
I can:
Learn any language.
Read any book.
Watch any movie.
Do any work out.
Make any hairstyle.
Sculpt any pottery.
Draw any picture.
Paint any painting.
Buy any thing.
Write any book.
Compose any song.
Learn any fighting style.
Assimilate any culture.
Hire any worker.
Plan any vacation.
Graduate any school.
Become a celebrity.
Send any message.
Play any game.
I can do damn near anything, legally. Illegally, I could:
Hack any website.
Drain any finances.
Plan any murder.
Join any cult.
Create any cult.
Start any war.
I have, in my pocket, the Internet. I have, in my pocket, a device that has more power and more potential than mankind has been able to create in thousands of years.
I use it to come to Blogland, and to watch Youtube videos.
*bows*
Carry on.
*returns to the Midnight Hotel*
Gree
I feel really lost. o.o
Sorry I've not been on in a while. I've been revising and working on Imp and practicing now I only have two of those things to do and I feel really lost. D:
Every river that I tried to cross...
Sorry for poofing.
*hugs Luce* I'm sure you'll find your way again. The good thing about getting lost is, you will always get to somewhere, whichever direction you go in, unless you just keep circling the same place, in which case you get to nowhere, I guess. And somewhere is better than nowhere, because once you're somewhere, you're not lost, and you get see what's around you and where you can get to. It's easier to find your way back. Or to find somewhere that it turns out you'd rather be.
So I figure that whatever you do with yourself when you're lost, it's hard to go wrong, really.
*nods*
:)
#ChaseForBook9
Also @Adra: That is AMAZING. O_O
#ChaseForBook9
WHY IS A RAVEN LIKE A WRITING DESK?!
(Not really here)
[hugs all]
A RAVEN IS LIKE A WRITING DESK IN THE WAY THAT THEY BOTH PRODUCE NOTES THOUGH THEY ARE FLAT AND CAN NEVAR BE PUT WITH THE WRONG END IN FRONT
I mean, I'm lost without Imperfect. I finished it. It's done. It's out of my hands now and I feel lost without it, because it's always been there for me. Now it's just a matter of waiting for my friends to finish reading it and give me their opinions on it.
@Tempest: :3
... I always like to think that they are made similar simply by their being put together in the question. You can take any two things and find a link between them if you look. A raven is like a writing desk because the question lets you consider it, if you ask me. :)
*hugs Fabi back* C:
#ChaseForBook9
They both have feathers. Sort of.
I don't know how to help... I never really finish anything, so I'm not exactly familiar with that feeling.
[hugs Lucy]
TECHNICALLY FABI IS RIGHT BECAUSE, DURING THE TIME CAROLL WAS WRITING IN, PEOPLE STILL LOVED TO USE QUILLS AND THEY'RE MADE WITH FEATHERS SO THEY ARE BOTH OFTEN ASSOCIATED WITH FEATHERRRRRRS.
I hate this feeling. I'm ridiculously impatient. D:
50 awesome points to you all!
@Luce: *nods* It still has a future though, doesn't it? Like, surely everything that happens to it still happens? It's not gone, you're just not writing it any more? But everything that it does is still up to you. You get to see and take a level responsibility for every feeling that it inflicts on every human who reads it.
It's like... You strike a string on a guitar, and even though it was only one quick strike, it carries on ringing. The vibrations continue long after the original energy is input. And those vibrations of soundwaves convert and transfer and pass on that energy, and it keeps going, it never stops, on and on through things because things are amazing like that. It doesn't die. It just moves through things, from one to the other, in different forms and directions and effects.
And when you want another sound, you pluck another note. And that one goes out and carries on, too.
There are a lot of different notes that you can play, now. And it's like, there's not one that will be wrong. And if the note that you DO play doesn't quite work out next to the one that you just played, or it just doesn't feel write. There are plenty of notes and chords, and more combinations of those on top of that. Just, do what you want to do, y'know? And I figure you'll get found.
I can't pretend to know how you feel with that completed, but I can put in analogies of what I feel ABOUT that, if you see what I mean. I can't comment directly, but I can comment more generally to the idea of being lost, because more often than not I think the same general rules tend to apply. So, yeah. :)
Also: Congratulations on finishing, ofc. C: ^^
#ChaseForBook9
Maybe you could write an alternate ending, and follow one of your other trains of thought?
I do that sometimes. It might be part of why I never get anywhere. Heh.
I like feathers. They're really feathery. :-)
My point is, I miss writing it already and it's been barely a day. :P
(but that's beautiful, Taia <3)
ALSO TA BABE <3
* doesn't feel right, there are
(I might've had writing desks and books as a running theme in my head there and kind of transposed because of that. :P)
#ChaseForBook9
There is no alternate ending. It has to end like it does. It was the core of the story from the moment I thought of it.
Oh, okay then. Sorry.
I should probably go now. There's so much that has to get done...
@Taia: You're making me cry with your awesomeness.
Stop. D:
@Mushroom: :) *hugs*
It's okay.
You will feel lost for a while, and I believe I know how you feel about that, but you can move onto new stories, and explore new worlds.
The end is never the end. It is only the beginning. :)
I keep wanting to play with people's hair now. Whenever my sister is near me, my hand automatically reaches to her head. :P
I blame Hunter and Adra.
Either way, it's rather annoying. XD
#ChaseForBookNine
@Luce: :P
And :):):)
But- Like, idk. The only advice I really know is to, like, do things. Like, just do something and keep doing somethings until something happens? :P
So, like, write something else? Maybe you could take a theme or some kind of quirk from Imperfect and expand sideways from it and see what happens? So it's not necessarily actually rewriting Imperfect, but it has some relations through that particular theme/event/character/idea/feeling/whatever, and, like... idk.
Just, yeah. :P
#ChaseForBook9
I'll probably continue with Lux.
I like the whole Amarithiane thingy I had going on...
*hugs Fabi* See you, I guess.
@Star: Sorry. :P
#ChaseForBook9
@Taia: Don't ever, ever apologise for being awesome. :)
Wbd, btw - card-making. :P
@Mushroom: :) Good luck, anyhow, whatever you do. :)
#ChaseForBookNine
Thanks, Star. ^-^
http://youtu.be/Kjpa0SMOug0
SALUTEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Hey Mara! :)
#ChaseForBookNine
I better go get some sort of food... Night!
@Star: I'll try. :) ^^
@Luce: *echoes Star's good luck wishing* :))
wbd. Trying to work out a friend's birthdayish... thing. And also my brain is getting slow again. And I'm tired. And things. :P
Also, I'm looking at this collection of very short stories of just pieces of life, that I started reading last night. ANd I've decided that it's interesting reading a book that somebody has given you and that you literally know absolutely NOTHING about, because it's just such a different feeling to reading a book where you've read the blurb and maybe heard a number of recommendations and it's like what you normally read and it's popular and whatnot.
This is a random book selected by some guy in a bookshop in India. And, idk. It's a different feeling. I'm not sure how, but, it's interesting. :)
#ChaseForBook9
MARA! *hugs* C:
Night, Luce! *hugs*
#ChaseForBook9
@Taia: I think I know what you mean?
Yes. :)
Usually you have an . . . impression, you know?
#ChaseForBookNine
@Star: Yeah. *nods* Yeah. :)
#ChaseForBook9
So much relies on perspective.
I think I want to do some art about perspective.
I don't know how I would go about doing that, though, and I have too much to do. :P
Eh. I'd probably just end up doing Vermilion again if I did that, and after spending five weeks on it I'm just like NO.
#ChaseForBookNine
*nods* Right. It's pretty amazing. I like how that is. I like how things can just be amazing. Like they just are. Idk. :P
And- Art on perspective sounds good.
I still don't think I could do five weeks of a thing, though. :P
Like, if I leave something OVERNIGHT I can struggle to get back into it again. Five weeks is, like, thirty-five overnights. Like, Wow. O.o / :)
#ChaseForBook9
@Taia: Well . . . it was whilst I was at school, so I wasn't spending hours and hours on it each day, and you also had lots of different aspects of it, so you kind of had lots of little chunks of word art put together. It would be different if I was doing the same kind of thing for five weeks. O_O
Plus it was quite exciting, as well, so. :)
#ChaseForBookNine
Does anyone know how you can force yourself to do something I.e. homework, tidying room, stuff you procrastinate against as much as you can etc?
@Silente: Ummmmmmmm . . .
Well, I generally manage to do homework if I'm doing it to procrastinate doing other homework, but . . .:P No.
#ChaseForBookNine
I've had a history project 3 weeks now. Its due in two. There's also other homework that I need to do as well as tidying my room as well as making these Teddy's. I don't even know why I'm procrastinating the Teddy's! It was last year when I decided to do them! I still haven't started! I procrastinate with Blogland! Even when no ones on I'm usually sat here refreshing every minute waiting! That's how bad I've got now! But I can't get myself to do work! Even if I manage to put my tablet down my brain either shuts off or gets distracted by something random like a piece of fluff! I need help!
@Silente: D:!
Well, I suppose you could try and think of it as being fun, which would make you more likely to do it.
(Crap at this kind of advice, sorry! If I knew how to stop procrastinating, I would stop doing it myself!)
#ChaseForBookNine
Hey Amethyst! :)
#ChaseForBookNine
@Star: *nods* Right. :)
When I do art it is generally not that complex, I think. There are lots of different bits but mostly I just have to wait for ink to dry or something.
Also, sometimes if I leave something for so long I just kind of stop. It happens with books and a lot things. My mind just goes from it and is reluctant to go back IN again for a while. So, idk.
I have art that spanned over a month or two in the time it was being made, but if that was the case, usually there were probably only actually a few days within that that I actually worked on it, if that makes sense?
idk. :P
@Silente: Sometimes I write myself a list of completely inane tasks, and then tick or cross them off. The idea that I've completed something acts as a kind of motivation, and so the brain kind of puts itself at a particular perspective where you're more motivated to do things, kind of.
idk.
When I had to learn my last Welsh C/A, I wrote a list that included things like"
"Get a drink"
"attempt to learn Welsh"
"fail miserably"
"Get frustrated"
"eat"
"try Welsh again"
"get distracted"
"realise you've got distracted"
"continue being distracted for a little while anyway"
"Go get some more water"
"eat"
"try Welsh again, but more laxly this time"
"go to pee"
"lie on the floor for a while looking up so that my thoughts are sort of strewn across the ceiling in that way that they sometimes do"
"Welsh"
and "stare blankly at a wall with your eyes only semi-focussed"
As it turned out, I did learn the Welsh, and it ended up going fine. SO, *shrugs* I guess that worked for ME. :P

Hello amethyst!
Its okay star. Firstly I need to STOP USING MY TABLET. I mean I'm /hoping/ to get stuff done this weekend (cause that's going to happen) but my plans don't always work. And I might need to research which leads to my tablet which leads to "oh we'll just see if anyone's on Blogland. No harm in that" which leads to "SHIT ITS THAT TIME?! WHY WAS I ON BLOGLAND SO MUCH! I'll be stronger tomorrow!" Which is an absolute lie. I have a strong will that works /against/ the things I should be doing. I swear it's impossible!
Hello everyone. How are you guys?
@Taia that worked?! Wow. I'd stare at the wall too long. I'll have to try bribe my sister into throwing stuff at me when I'm distracted for more then five minutes...that might work.
Fine Amethyst! Tired! I'll probably be leaving in like 15 minutes (she says) to sleep. You?
I'm fine :)
*Runs in and hugs Amy and Silente* :) *runs out*
@Taia: Yeah - my brain really likes completing things. :P
Like, when I memorise things, I keep highlighting the amount of words I've memorised and putting them into my calculator to find out how many percent I am through, and then I can feel happy when the number goes up. :P
#ChaseForBookNine
Hello Adra! Bye Adra!
*is hugged* what the?! Well that's a new thing right there. Didn't know I got hugged randomly...
@Taia: My art generally isn't that complex, either. :P I'd like to go that complex again, though.
@Silente: Didn't you?
*hugs randomly*
*which wasn't so random*
*because we were talking about hugs*
*but, um*

Wiki how's advice:
Refuse to do what you don’t want to do. If you often avoid working because you're trying to do things you think you “should do”, then you are being given a big clue. If your mind says: "I think I should read more because it will make me smarter.", or "I think I should buy new clothes because it will make me cooler.", or "I think I should work on this project because it will be good for my resume.", then you're in a trap. Forget what you (or other people) think you should do (except maybe paying your rent). Do what you want to do. Other people will understand. In fact, they’ll probably envy you.
Great suggestion! I just won't do it! I'm sure my teachers will understand! NOT!
Hi AMethyst! :)
I'm good, thank you. How are you? :)
@Silente: Yes. xD I guess for me sometimes it's OK to just let yourself be at ease with what you're doing rather than forcing yourself at it repeatedly because if your brain has wall-staring to do then maybe just get it done. idk.
I feel like the list still keeps my on track, from the one or two times that I've done that. :P
Good luck, anyway. :)
#ChaseForBook9
*stiffens at the hugs*
No. I didnt. People don't hug me. I'm a small scary evil vampire girl that makes nukes. I don't tend to get hugged.
@Silente: XD
Like I said - try and pretend it's for fun. :)
#ChaseForBookNine
Hello Taia! I'm fine.
*hugs Silente*
*hugs everyone else*
@Silente: Aw. :( You should be hugged more.
Hunter would attack you with hugs now, if he were here.
Is he here?
He's asking if he's here.
Surely he should know whether he's here or not?
Ugh - my perspective is shifting horribly in this, so I'll ditch this sentence now. XD
#ChaseForBookNine
That's a lot of pretending to be done star. A lot. I'll figure something out....probably. Hopefully. Maybe...
@Star: *nods* :)
My brain likes completing things, until it kind of detached from the thing. I depends how far through the process of the thing. If my brain is interrupted, it wants to finish it. If my brain trails off in another direction, it kind of stops giving a fuck. :P
I like the idea of checking percentage memorized, though. That's great. XD
I tend to split into little chunks and marvel at every block memorized instead. :P
#ChaseForBook9
Hunter: HELLO!
*hugs Silente and sparkly person*
NICE TO SEE YOU AGAIN!
Aw, you don't look any different.
Damn, now I know why I annoy people.
Anyway, hey!
Silente - well, if you don't do your homework, you are choosing to take that action and therefore you have to suffer the consequences.
*shrugs*
Your choice.
#ChaseForBookNine
*squirms*
I don't think I should be hugged more. As I said, me scary evil small vampire child who manufactures weapons, is an Assassin, find death beautiful and has faced death before. Then laughed at it. More than once. Way to many times. I am a scary individual.
@Taia: Yeah . . . pretty much. :P
Well, the percentage thing only really works well when you're on the computer and can check the work count . . . :P Blocks is cool. :)
Hunter: Blocks are very cool.
They're blocky.
STAR STOP RUINING MY REUNION.
#ChaseForBookNine
@Silente: Would you LIKE to be hugged? *readies her arms* :P
*hugs Amethyst back* C:
#ChaseForBook9
*hugs Silente*
*stops hugging*
*hugs Silente*
*stops hugging*
*hugs Silente*
*stops hugging*
*continues this for a few minutes*
Hunter: I'm a scary outmultiplywar. *shrugs*
EVERYONE SHOULD BE HUGGED MORE.
#ChaseForBookNine
*whispers*
Please stop hugging me,. The scary vampire child doesn't like friendly contact. Its weird for someone who has lived alone for 101 years....
Hunter: *observes Amethyst* Would it not take less energy to just sustain a continuous hug?
#ChaseForBookNine
*smiles*
*hugs Silente more*
Group hug!
*pulls everyone into hug*
Hunter: @Silente: Well, you should be TAUGHT to like friendly contact.
Okay, though. *shrugs*
Whatever you want.
#ChaseForBookNine
But a continuous hug only counts as one hug!
*pulls herself into herself while amethyst is hugging her*
*squirms in the hug*
*waits for it to end*
*detaches
*how far through the process of the thing I am
Hunter! Hi! *grins* Good to see you, too. :)
@Star: Yeah. :)
(*laughs at Huntstar* :))
#ChaseForBook9
I DEDICATE THIS PAGE TO HUGS! :D
*stops hugging*
*hugs everyone one last time*
*stops hugging*
@Amethyst: HOORAY! Great dedication. :)
*hands Silente a cookie*
I'm sure you could warm to hugs. Eventually. Through practice. If you wanted to. :)
#ChaseForBook9
Silente! You should start practicing now!
*hugs Silente*
*hugs everyone else*
*hugs Amethyst back* :3
*laughs* :P
MSD
#ChaseForBook9
*smiles now the hug is over*
*takes the cookie* thank you Taia. And maybe I will, maybe I won't.
*nods*
*takes a step away from amethyst so she's not in easy hugging range*
*takes a step toward Silente so she's in easy hugging range*
*steps away*
*watches amethyst*
*steps forward*
*smiles*
@Amethyst: Yer welcome. I look forward to seeing which becomes the case? :)
*hums*
#ChaseForBook9
*steps back*
*looks at her suspiciously*
Hunter: Amethyst, I should employ you as a hugger. :)
Good to see YOU, sparkly person. *nods*
((Hunter: Huntstar? *raises eyebrow*))
#ChaseForBookNine
Hunter: *steps sideways in a lefterly direction*
#ChaseForBookNine
*steps forward*
*lunges forward and hugs Silente*
*screaches* Nooo!
*squirms while being hugged*
((*laughs* Huntstar isn't a ship, there, it's just me referring to the exchanged between you two. *resists the urge to manually re-lower Hunter's eyebrow with her hand* :P ))
#ChaseForBook9
You need to practice hugging!
*stuffs a cookie in Silente's mouth*
There! As a treat!
*slowly moves closer to other people, pulling them into the hug to make a group hug*
*gives everyone in the group hug a cookie*
Oh! Employ me as a hugger? What do you do?
*exchanges
*quietly drowns in hugs and cookies* :P / :)
Thank you, Amethyst. :)
#ChaseForBook9
*Runs in and tackles Hunter to the ground* *Wraps her arms around him, cuddling* I love you, Hunter!
*Runs away*
