Well... that was fun.
My first time on Twitter proved to be something of an avalanche. You know, in a "oh my god run run run" kinda way.
I'll be using it to tell little stories here and there. Some of them will be Skulduggery related, some of them won't- such as the cute little axe murderer story from Saturday night. Some of them may even be related to the series I'll be writing AFTER Skulduggery. Ooooooh! (But I don't know about this. I literally just thought of that right there.)
I'd like to be able to post stories quite regularly, but I'm not committing myself to anything right now. Neither am I going to be using Twitter in the normal way. Instead, I'll be typing with my toes.
No, wait, that's not what I mean. I mean, I have rules. RULES! And they shall not be broken!
RULE 1: I SHALL NOT FOLLOW!
I only follow two people, and both of those just happen to be attractive lady fighters. That's a pure coincidence, I swear.
My point is, I am not going to open up Twitter every day and see a thousand different streams of tweets from a thousand different people. This will EAT UP MY TIME, and I cannot allow this to happen.
RULE 2: I SHALL NOT RETWEET!
I've seen requests for retweets on Ronda Rousey's page, and people actually get annoyed when she doesn't do it. I'm going to cut this off at the knees before it even gets started— no RT's for me.
RULE 3: I SHALL NOT REPLY!
Again, people get annoyed if you don't reply. They think you're being rude or disrespectful. They think you're ignoring them. While all these things are quite true, replying to everyone is just impossible. Also, it will EAT UP MY TIME. And I need my time for doing the thing you want me to do. Which would you rather— that I write more books, or reply to your tweets?
No, I can't do both. I can't. Shush. Shuttup. Stop. You're making this worse. Quiet. Shhhhhhhhhh.
And here it is, the final and most important rule of all.
RULE 4: I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO BREAK ANY OF THESE RULES AT THE SLIGHTEST WHIM.
I have spoken.

When it comes to Blogland, you have to be patent for replies. A lot of the time Bloglandians are doing other things as well as being here. Myself and Star are two of the worst for it, actually:P

HI, BTW! Sorry I poofed last night. D: I DID say msd beforehand, however . . .
Heh, yeah, sorry about that.
Oh, and just so it doesn't frustrate people (myself included), would you mind trying to type with full words? I know it's a ridiculous thing for us to become frustrated with, but we do. Sorry for asking... :)
hey, i do not believe we have met! call me snow
*laughs* Last night I was being talked about just before I came on, and today I was as well? :)
It's odd, because I love being talked about when I'm not here on the blog, only I don't like it irl . . . :/

Morning! :)
I have a sudden urge to Blogsing...
Hmm...
Floop. :P Aka: hi.
I'm not going to use floop so much, but sometimes, I'll just feel like it, so... Yeah. Hi.
I'm gonna get fat on sweets...
THEY'RE ALL GIFTS THOUGH. And I do share... Mostly.
Yellow? Msd.
Hi, it's 2:42 in the morning!
(don't expect responses....)
Hi Ieni!
Hi Val! Why up so early???
Hi, Val! *hugs*
Hi, Lav! *hugs*
How are you both?
Sorry, I'm slightly distracted by Miranda on iPlayer.
I fell asleep in my clothes around one, and then I got up at 2:20 or so to get changed and wash my face and stuff... I was so lazy when I was awake I figured I'd just wait till the middle of the night to do that.
*laughs*
Okay Val.
That's okay, Ieni. :) I'm good. Yourself?
Also, random burst of writing time for me!
*types about 10 words and stares at the screen
8
I was up a few hours in the night, annoyingly, which probably means I'll have to go to bed at 9pm again.
Omg, this is so funny XD Miranda is just...amazing.
I'm good, thanks:)
Ten? If you mean the sentence, it was more like 8. :P
That's good, Ieni. :)
... Who's Miranda?
Miranda is this comedian who has her own TV show, which is very funny *nods*
What time zone are you in, Lavender?
g2g
Miranda... Cosgrove? iCarly?
Close to Aussie time. It's 8:03 PM.
Oh. Bye Ieni!
Just realized. Gotta take a shower now. Bbs!
Or at least as soon as I can. Bye!
I'm back!
I forgot I was here xD
HI!
Sledging was awesome and we made a cool snowman after. :)
*is back*
Hello. :)
Distant though.
Sledging?
*reads definition*
Ooohh. I learned a new British word. In America, we call it sledding. :)
I now know sledding/sledging, grey/gray(not sure which is which really, I use both), flashlight/torch, mom/mum(really obvious one really, but still), and candy floss/cotton candy.
At least those are the ones I remember at the moment.
I call it going-downhill-on-a-board. :P
Hi Flame!
HI LAV! HI FLAMING PHOE OF THE NIX!
Haha. :P That's one anyone can get.
HI STAR!!! :D
Ah. Cool! :)
Hi Flame! *waves*
I feel sick again... WHY AM I ALWAYS SICK?!? -_-"
In Ireland, we call our mother mam :)
Our sledges aren't BOARDS. One is a cool one with a steering wheel and the other is one of them old-fashioned wooden ones.
Cell phone/mobile, Lav! :)
Hi Star! *waves*
And I didn't say hi to you Lav so HI LAV!
Plaster/Band Aid!
HI MARA! :)
My dad calls his mother mam . . .
Cell phone/mobile/phone! :)
Aw Star, you have awesome 'sledges' (hehe). We have a piece of wood xD
Oh cool. :)
Mam sounds a bit like ma'am. A polite term of adress for an older woman.
*reads full def*
Heh. In British terms, it's used to address female royalty.
It's usually an Irish thing. We scream "MAM!" or "MAMMY!" xD
We have plastic. XD
I use mobile too, kinda. So I didn't realize.
I think Japanese and Koreans say it like that too.
Plaster/band aid? Never knew that one.
My friend calls plasters 'sticking tape' :P
Plaster is a really odd name for band aid though, because plaster is like the stuff you use to stick bricks together or patch cracks in walls...
Not that it's weird for you guys, as you grew up with the word.
Gtg, lunch! Bbs!
*decides to read full def on plaster*
So I was pretty correct, but it had more meanings, and right in the middle was the British term.
See ya soon, Star!
*remembers something she wanted to tell her*
Oh! Tell you when you get back!
Yellows? Msd.
*remembers she's supposed to be distant*
You guys are distracting meeeee.
*is joking of course*
Hi again Ieni!
Wbd.
Hello, Hope!
Hmm...I've just had sweetcorn soup.
It was...interesting.
Afternoon everyone!
Em!!!! *ninjaeroplanetacklehugs*
How's you?
Hey, you called me Hope!
Not that that's bad or anything, you just haven't called me that before... I think...
Sweetcorn? Is it different from normal corn?
*has no idea, so is curious*
I like corn soup though. It's good. :)
Hi Em!
No, I remember I did, because everyone was calling you Lav and then I realised it reminded me of Lavortary, so I asked you if I could call you Hope and then you said yes:)
Uh, it's like little yellow things in a can, it's basically the stuff on corn on the cob.
Oh yeah! Thanks for reminding me!
So basically it is regular corn. Okay.
(Sorrythatwaspointless)
Band aid is just a COOL name for a plaster.
I say plaster in a southern (England southern) accent. Plarster. I generally use the northern accent for words like that as I live in the north and my parents have northern accents, so I say grass and bath, but I also say craft like crarft. XD
And paragraph like paragrarph.
Because it SOUNDS better . . .
Is everyone good today??
I just had breakfast...
And now I have to clean the house... AGAIN.
*hmphs*
*tries to pronounce like that*
*fails*
That's hard to say craft like crarft and paragraph like paragrarph. For me with an American accent and absolutely no British in her voice whatsoever.
*rereads that*
Why did I say that last part in third person...?
It is? Okay dokee :)
Staaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *ninjaeroplanetacklehugs*
How's you?
I say grarss and barth etc. but I always laugh at my dad, because he's got a northern accent and he says it differently.
Hi, Flame! *hugs*
How's you?
I'm good, thanks, Em - still watching and laughing at Miranda:) You?
Yup, I am, Em. :)
I help clean the building I'm in every morning now. They're asking everyone to help and they do something cleaning wise every morning now. And as I reread this, I see that I'm repeating myself again.
:P Sorry.
God knows,, Lav :P
Did I email you back?
I'm okay...
Trying to get back into the Dublin Daes swing of things...
Trying but failing...
I cleaned last week though.
Stupid house!
I was supposed to go to the cinema last week- the house had to be cleaned. The smar thing happened the week before too.
*sick of stupid house*
Hello people! How are we all today? *remembers I fell asleep before my second MC post last night* I'll be distant, working on that. Or I might leave completely to shovel show. But anyway... Hi!
HI EM! HI IENI!
Ieni, your accent is offically awesome. :)
I wish I had a Suffolk accent.
Ah, all the time I lived in Ipswich, I was in a constant state of panic about how I pronouced things differently to everyone else except my parents, and I never knew whether I should say it my way or their way. Then I moved up here and they all said grass and bath like I did, and I was just like *big happy smile moment*, but then everyone here said I spoke posh because my accent had been warped to halfSuffolkian. *laughs*
There is no way to win . . .
When I went down to Ipswich to visit, I noticed how after an hour or so I'd started sounding a lot more Ipswichian; a strong example is that I was saying okay like "oh-kay" instead of "er-kay". (I'd been saying erkay for months by then, y'see. Atm I say either or . . .)
And then as soon as I went back to school, hello, Yorkshireaccentness. XD
Sorry I disappeared. Still msd.
I think you did, Flame. Unless you wanted to tell me something else, the last email said just the character description was okay.
Hi Aretha!
AHA, TWO MORE TO GO!
FFFFF, YES!
Now to try to find them for cheapish...!
HI ARETHA! :)
Where we are influence the way we speak, Star.
Not thinking, kinda distracted. Sorry if I say something again or randomly.
Ieni, did you see the question I asked after you left before?
Are you talking about Miranda Cosgrove? From iCarly?
Oh, so that wasn't my imagination :)
HI SCÁTH! :)
Oh yeah, HELLO :)
I'm going to give an example of what I said to Star. Why, I don't know. Not thinking right.
I live with people who speak with bad English, so now, my English isn't that great when I talk to them. But to good English speakers, I'm normal.
Did that make sense? No idea...
There were about two months in the summer when I was watching so much Doctor Who that I actually started thinking in a Brittish accent. I had to translate all the words in my head from Brittish to an American accent before I said them because it drove my mom nuts! ;p
HI STAR!!!
@Lav: I get it. I totally get it. *nods* :)
Hi L!
Yeah, I got it, Flame. :)
When I've been reading tons of a book series at once, I start thinking in the style that book is written. *laughs*
No, Lav, that makes perfect sense, actually- my mom does that too. She grew up on a farm in Iowa- now she's at the head of an international shipping company. So her grammar is meticulous, but once we go to visit Iowa and she's back around her family, she starts using phrases like "there ain't no" and stuff like that. It's just a subconscious thing. It makes sense, don't worry!
*remembers again what she wanted to tell Star*
I was thinking in a British accent too when I read the Seven Sorscerers! You read it too! :DDD
Did you read the second???
Star- that happens to me too. And it's the same when I go to the movies- I start thinking in the style of one or more of the characters. That also drives my mom nuts... Oh well. :)
Yeah. Okay. I make sense! Yay! :D
Still a little random though... I think.
Never mind. Ignore that.
I'm random too, Lav, don't worry. You should've seen some of my comments the other day- I was all over the place with random rants and useless information and who knows what else. Don't feel out of place- we're all mad here!
Yes!!!! :)
I've said this to you before, but: When I read American books, my mind can subconsciously generally tell they're American from they way the writing is formed, so I start subconsciously reading the book in an American accent. *grins*
I know barely any good English books. :(
Ok- I've got to go now so I can eat and maybe shovel more snow. Cheers! I'll be back later for another heartbreaking chapter, promise!
The bogeyman is such an awesome character that I was thinking in his voice! But when I tried to speak, I had to think harder. :P
*tries writing in his style*
The bogeyman is such an awesome character that I was finking in 'is voice! But when I tried to speak, I 'ad t' fink 'arder. :P
*possibly failed right there*
'Aven't read the book in a while... Since I read the second.
And a ded, Arefa!
(Sorry, still trying the accent. :P)
Has anyone read a book called Changeling? It looks cool... *is on the Waterstones website*
My mum talks different when talking to people who have bad English. :)
My mum also talks in more of a Yorkshire accent when talking to Nathan from work. I've noticed this and I've met Nathan TWICE so mwah ha ha.
*reads the last comments on page before*
Wasn't it really good, Star?!?! The end was shocking! :O I loved it! :D
Lots of English books are brill! Most of the good authors are from Europe! Mostly British! JK Rowling, Derek, most likely more that I forgot now. :P
Back again.
Clover - yes, as in I had the 2nd one of my bookshelf, thta my friend go me for my birthday, but no, because I never bothered to read it...
No, L, but I may 'ave 'eard of it.
*remembers another author*
Alright, so it's not a great book, but Liz Kesler is another British author. She wrote Emily Windsnap. I love those books even if they were about mermaids.
Wb, Ieni!
No, Seven Sorcerers was good!
And I forgot JK Rowling . . .
NEARLY ALL THE GOOD BOOKS ARE EITHER IRISH OR AMERICAN. :)
I read so many American books . . . about 80% or more of the books I read are American. :/
THERE ARE SO MANY AMAZING AMERICAN BOOKS!
Wow, I'm first... Well, now I can't leave... Ok.
I dedicate this page to Lav, Luci, Death, Em, Chase, and everyone else who's having a hard time right now or just needs a hug.
I ded to Mara, who doesn't know she's beautiful (she really is though, can somebody please tell her that?)
And to Zaf- Happy late Birthday!
And to Fabi for her alternative ending that nearly made me cry in the middle of school... Very impressive, Fabi.
I ded to Dante for his new name, Robin because she's awesome, Eve because she's not here (and also because she's awesome) and to Brave in hopes that he will soon learn to capitalize his 'I's. (I hope you are not offended if you read this! We love you anyway!)And to Kallista for her absolutely brilliant memorial to Chase. And to Star, for being brilliant. And to any Bloglandians I might have left out because I'm in a rush. I seriously love you all.
I also dedicate this page to Derek Landy, without whom none of us would be here- and for being the author of my favorite series. He mixed heavy existential questions and philosophy in with intense humor and wit, and pulled it off. That requires skill. *bows before Derek*
Lastly, I dedicate this to Nikola Tesla, for breaking down the barriers of impossible, and for all his lovely inventions that enable life as we know and love it!
Whew! *wipes brow* Ok, seriously, I'm leaving now. Bye!
BRILLIANT DED. :) Fours Aretha! :(
Hi, Hope!
Terri Terry is English *nods*
Ah, yeah, American books are good *nods* And Irish books and also good *nods*
Love the ded! Bye Aretha! *waves*
I KNOWS, SCÁTH!
I fink I know 'ow t' speak wiv an accent, and I'm probably filing 'orribly right now...
Typin' /and/ speaking...
*remembers Skerridge doesn't pronouncer the G at the end of an -ing word*
See- forgot about that...
And I don't even know if 'e said all the th- words usin' F and/or vv...
Oh, wait, I forgot something- I also dedicate this to all the hearts I tore with Hard and Uncaring and the chapters following, and to the readers who are now convinced I am a remnant. The worst is yet to come!
*poofs*
Awesome ded! Bye Aretha!
Might buy Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy... C:
Nice ded, Arefa!
*doesn't know why she's still typing with the accent...*
Bye!(to Aretha, not leaving)
And Americans don't 'ave good authors! The only one is Rick Riordan! All the other books I read are from authors that live in Europe! Or Canada...
SUZANNE COLLINS IS AMERICAN.
*forgot who that is*
I know I 'eard the name though... What books did she write?
Imsorryimcluelessandhavesuchbadtastesinbooks.
Eoin Colfer!
...
The Hunger Games.
Erm...
*goes to get her ebook reader*
*facepalms*
Shoulda been obvious... Only read the first one book though... Tried startin' the second, didn't get far...
NOT THAT IT'S NOT INTERESTIN'. I WAS JUST READIN' OTHER BOOKS FIRST. I'M SORRY.
'Ello Ves!
Forgive my poor attemt at a British accent.
Erin 'Unter(Hunter)! A GROUP of European authors! And maybe ONE American.
*realizes another American author*
Lisa McMann. The Unwanteds.
SECCOND AWESOME BOOK SERIES I'VE READ RECENTLY. The first bein' Seven Sorscerers.
Practically all the supernatural teenage romance books are American.
I've yet to remember a series in that genre that isn't.
And BTW, the Wolves of Mercy Falls trilogy are the best supernatural teenage romance books I have read.
I just started reading the author's other series, the ome that begind with Lament, but I'm being disappointed; it's too stereotypically a supernatural teenage romance book. One of the things I like about ShiverLingerForever is the different perspectives. In Lament it's from the perspective of an (at the beginning of the book at least) ordinary girl who falls in love with this mysterious handsome boy who pops up out of nowhere and falls in love with her. It's such an overused plot line. Any book that has that happening like that just irritates me so much.
In Shiver, Grace knew Sam as a wolf and they both knew he was a wolf, and Sam had at the beginning just been shot. The storyline revloved around Sam trying to stay out of the cold so he wouldn't turn into a wolf. Nice refreshing difference. And I liked how Sam wasn't stunningly good-looking like that all are in supernatural teenage romance books. Okay, Cole was stunningly good-looking, but he's a main character who isn't a main-main-main character ajd has an entirely different role in the book.
Rant over. :P Romance isn't generally my favourite genre, y'see . . . It's okay though. :)
I read the Wolves of Mercy Falls.
I didn't really like the 3rd book though...
FIREWORKS WERE AWESOME THIS YEAR :D
But I do briefly wonder, how much it all cost...
HULLO ALL!
*doesn't like lots of romance like the Twilight saga*
Sorry, Star. One reason I don't know many American authors... I like the magic type of books. European authors are best at that.
Shannon Hale is actually American though. She wrote Princess Academy and Books of Bayern.
'Ello, Miss!
Maybe I should stop wiv the tryin'...
POOR DEREK. *hugs Derek*
HE'S TWEETED, BTW...
HI LAV!!
*decides to reread the Seven Sorcerers*
Just realized that I was spellin' Sorcerers wrong the whole time...
*facepalms*
*looks at Lav* Twilight, depending on who you are.
MAGGIE STIRFVATER WHO WROTE SHIVER, LINGER AND FOREVER IS AMERICAN!
So's Cassandra Clare who wrote The Mortal Instruments! :)
Elizabeth Norris who wrote Unravelling!
Alyson Noël who wrote The Immortals!
The person I've forgotten the name of who wrote Fallen!
AND HOW COULD I FORGET Michael Grant who wrote Gone!
R J Anderson who wrote Knife, Rebel, Arrow and Swift!
Rachel Caine who wrote The Morganville Vampires!
Kelly Armstrong who wrote the Dark Powers trilogy!
Christopher Paolini who wrote The Inheritance Cycle!
James Patterson who wrote many things! One of which is Maximum Ride!
I know TONS of good American authors. :)
*knows James Patterson*
The first book series I read from him was Witch and Wizard.
I haven't read the Inheritance Cycle, but I want to.
Maximum Ride is a great series *nods*
Except the last book was a bit depressing...
I need to read more books.
NEED to read more.
LIGHT COMES OUT ON THE 2ND OF APRIL THIS YEAR!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!
*considers reading the Maximum Ride book series as well as the manga...*
I've only read the manga...
BUT I think I'll read the series as well.
Didn't know Micheal Grant was American though.
*is an idiot*
Sorry, I'm just feelin' a bit... Foolish at the moment, I guess you could say...
I've considered reading Maximum Ride.
Don't judge a book by its cover... I judged the book by the title... I thought it was about a boy until I read the sample of the first book... Thought it would be somefin' like Daniel X...
*feels bad*
I ALSO WANT TO READ DANIEL X AND WITCH AND WIZARD.
And that new one by James Patterson I've seen...
*opens up Dymocks to try and find it...*
Wha-
He's writing a fourth Witch and Wizard book! I really thought it ended at Fire! Yay that it didn't! :D
Poor Derek :(
Books, Ves. We're talking 'bout books. ^_^
I NEE D TO BUY SO MANY BOOKS... O_O
And manga... Fushigi Yugi, Death Note, D.N.Angel, Kare Kano, Translucent...
Hi Zaf!
Happy late birthday(although I already said it early too.)
HI ZAF!
I saw Derek's tweet... :(
I also need Death Note. I borrowed my friend's for a bit, but I want
my own. (Also, I never finished it)
Confessions of A Murder Suspect.
That's the other James Patterson one. I like the sound of it.
Just wondering... Anyone heard of soul eater? A manga/anime?
YES.
I'VE HEARD OF SOUL EATER!
*hasn't got a clue about what it's about*
*grins at Lav*
Most teenge books, or nearly all, involve SOME romance . . .
Michael Grant wrote Gone. Which does involve romance but isn't a love story. Sci-fi and dark depressingness!
I am unsure how to classify The Morganville Vampires. But I've read the first two books and it's not a love story, it's all about trying to to be killed by vampires, so yeah. :)
Percy Jackson is definately what I'd call adventure. :)
Linda Chapman wrote Stardust and My Secret Unicorn, and although she writes for like seven year ols and I'm too old for her books now, it doesn't mean she isn't a FAB writer. :)
The Hunger Games is ADEVENTURE! Romance, yes, but primarily adventure!
Maggie Stiefvater, Stephanie Meyer and Alyson Noël all weite Romamce, I'll give you that. -_-
James Patterson's adventure!
Kelly Armstrong, who wrote The Dark Powers Trilogy, is what I'd call a Morganville Vampires-type author. :)
R J Anderson writes a mix of adventure and romance, and let me just point out, whilst Knife was about a faery girl and human boy falling in love, it was about lots of other things as well, and Rebel was all about, dare I say it, another faery girl another human boy who WEREN'T in love with each other. R J Anderson is mystery first, romance second. :)
Unravelling has romance having to take a back seat to the world ending. :)
Cassandra Clare is, okay, romance, but The Mortal Instruments is AWESOME and highly liked on the blog! Plenty of action and adventure!
So mwah ha ha. :)
Oh are we talking about books I LOVE BOOKS I'm about to start reading this book I got for christmas called Leviathan has anyone heard of it it looks really good i like books
HAS ANYONE READ THE DARKEST MINDS BY ALEXANDRA BRACKEN?
Maximum Ride is very like Daniel X anr Witch and Wizard as far as writingstyles and plotlines go. Unsurprising, really, but still. :)
No Vestige and no Cain. :/
Oooooh.
Survive by Alex Morel looks interesting...
No, Ves, I haven't.
*looks it up on Dymocks website*
Gotta go to bed now...
Night guys!
