It's my 38th birthday.
First of all, thank you for all the birthday wishes I've been reading online. You care, you really care... sniffle... It almost made up for the fact that I will have no birthday cake today, and I have no one to sing me happy birthday. But that's fine. That's okay. I was woken up this morning by a birthday text, which would have started my day off with a smile were it not for the fact that the text was from O2, my phone provider...
Even so, thank you, O2. It's nice to know you care.
Before you feel TOO sorry for me, I celebrated my birthday last Saturday, when we combined it with a Halloween party because three of my nieces will be down the country on Halloween night. So, y'know... my birthday was hijacked by three princesses and a pirate. But that's fine.
So, what did I GET for my birthday? I shall tell you. I got a remote controlled toy car! From my brother and sisters! They got me a remote controlled toy car! Yes! They did! For no reason! For no reason I can possibly comprehend, they got me a remote controlled toy car! Thank you, brother and sisters! Just what I've always wanted but could never put into words! Joy of joys!
So, after picking myself up from the floor, it was my mother's turn to give me the present from my folks. It was a shirt! A shirt! A blue shirt! But not just any kind of blue shirt! A blue denim shirt! DENIM! The most awesome material you could possibly make a shirt FROM! A blue denim shirt!
Truly, I am blessed. It's not like when their birthdays come around I buy them computers or TVs or designer handbags. Nope. That's not what happens at all.
So you wait, my family! You just wait till your birthdays roll around again! You cannot BEGIN to guess what WONDER of a present I shall be buying you!

Death Rose looked at the sheet of paper in her cold, shaking hand. She glanced at the house in front of her and bowed. The lights were off and the army of minions behind her started chattering excitedly.
This was it.
The army and Death Rose - their commander - walked up to the door. All was quiet, but she still put her index finger to her lips. Everyone nodded and Death opened the door.
It was a beautiful house, it seemed terrible to trash it.
They made their way up the stairs and heard the sound of a remote control car.
They all burst in, thrusting their presents in their master's face.
"Happy Birthday Master Derek!!!" They squealed and laughed at Derek's shocked face.
"Master Derek," Death said, bowing. "I am Death Rose, if you are wondering how we tracked you down, I have spies! Sorry!"

The year after, they changed the system so that the whole year group did one term of German, one term of French and one term of Spanish each year.

I'm in top set for Maths, which is bad because I can only move one way - downwards. Set 2 for French, although we're meant to be equal with set one, but if they weren't equal I'd still be in set two, sos . . . And for Science I'm in set two too, which is good because one of our teachers is awesome. Both our Sciences tsachers say that set two is equal with set one and that the only reason we're not in set one is because yoy can't have 60 people in one class, BUT BUT BUT apparently the set threes got told that THEY were equal with set two, so in my opinion it's all a buncha lies . . .
My school is a big school. 330 people per year group. The year group has two halves, the A half (180 people) and the B half (150 people). The halves have separate sets. There are five sets, number one to five (duh) un the B half, but the A half (MY HALF!) have six sets in everything.
I need to stop using P.E.E apparently.
On the reading paper you have to be straight to the point and it's basically learning as many synonyms before the exam as possible. I HATE IT. D:
