It's my 38th birthday.
First of all, thank you for all the birthday wishes I've been reading online. You care, you really care... sniffle... It almost made up for the fact that I will have no birthday cake today, and I have no one to sing me happy birthday. But that's fine. That's okay. I was woken up this morning by a birthday text, which would have started my day off with a smile were it not for the fact that the text was from O2, my phone provider...
Even so, thank you, O2. It's nice to know you care.
Before you feel TOO sorry for me, I celebrated my birthday last Saturday, when we combined it with a Halloween party because three of my nieces will be down the country on Halloween night. So, y'know... my birthday was hijacked by three princesses and a pirate. But that's fine.
So, what did I GET for my birthday? I shall tell you. I got a remote controlled toy car! From my brother and sisters! They got me a remote controlled toy car! Yes! They did! For no reason! For no reason I can possibly comprehend, they got me a remote controlled toy car! Thank you, brother and sisters! Just what I've always wanted but could never put into words! Joy of joys!
So, after picking myself up from the floor, it was my mother's turn to give me the present from my folks. It was a shirt! A shirt! A blue shirt! But not just any kind of blue shirt! A blue denim shirt! DENIM! The most awesome material you could possibly make a shirt FROM! A blue denim shirt!
Truly, I am blessed. It's not like when their birthdays come around I buy them computers or TVs or designer handbags. Nope. That's not what happens at all.
So you wait, my family! You just wait till your birthdays roll around again! You cannot BEGIN to guess what WONDER of a present I shall be buying you!

Thanks about the dress, I don't really need their permission since I've posted pictures with them before, China thought it was hilarious, and it was weird for everyone that he was naked. We put a coat on him at some point.
Humph. There needs to be a scene on SP where Skulduggery is caught wearing no clothing, then another character could see through his rib cage and look at how the pouch inside him works.
My friend and I walked down this trail thin for this fundraiser. It was fun. I kept making smart remarks and she tried to shut me up because it was 'rude' even though the guide told us to enter act with the people and not act like an audience. It was fun. There were these skeleton pirates and I asked if they knew a skeleton called Skulduggery Pleasant. And there was this witch with a skull and I asked if that was the head of SP. Then she said his name was Errol. There was also this other witch who had this haunted looking assitant and I asked if I could borrow him-he looked cute.

I should have said this before, but: YOU KNOW THAT RANDOM MILKMAN IN MORTAL COIL????? WELL, YOU KNOW HE HAS HIS MILK IN PLASTIC BOTTLES AND HE'S SAD ABOUT IT??? Well, WE have our milk delivered by a milkman, and WE get it in proper glass bottles. Not sure why we don't just buy it from the shops. Maybe it's too much bother. Maybe something to do with it being proper milk with cream on top. Not that I like cream, especially when from the top of a milk bottle, but you can often avoid getting cream all over your breakfast by shaking the bottle before you open it, or even better, getting someone else to use the new bottle before you do so they have to deal with the cream. A downside of getting proper glass bottles is that they come with foil on the top, and once you've taken the foil off you can't properly close the bottle again. However, glass bottles are more enviromentally friendly because when you've used all the milk in the bottle you wash the bottle out and put it back on the doorstep, and when the milkman next comes to deliver milk he takes the old bottles away and reuses them. PLUS SHOPBOUGHT MILK TASTES WEIRD, IN MY OPINION.
MR MILKMAN FROM MORTAL COIL (as you can guess, I've forgotton his name) SHOULD COME AND WORK IN THE EAST RIDING OF YORKSHIRE. PROPER GLASS BOTTLES FOR ALL. :)

I bought another SP book earlier. And my friend is buying me another for my birthday. Then my grandparents have bought me some SP books for either my birthday or Christmas. And then I'm getting lots of Sherlock and Hunger Games things. And skulls. XD

Kestrel’s hair was disheveled and hung lankly in front of her face. Her entire body was coated in sweat, and multiple tiny cuts were bleeding on her legs and arms. Zaken wasn’t much better. He had a few bruises where Kestrel had gotten lucky and hit him with something, and though he was not nearly as sweaty and out of breath as Kestrel, it was easy to tell that he been engaging in extreme physical exertion. He looked regretfully down at his hand, which was pouring blood from when he had picked up a knife to throw and grabbed the wrong end, and grimaced.
“I bet they explained it when the two of us were asleep. And what have I always told you?”
He paused for a second, giving Kestrel time to look bemused.
“Constant vigilance!” he barked, right in her ear. She jumped about five feet in the air, and suddenly every eye in the room turned to them. Kestrel shot him a glare, before turning towards the table nearest her and suddenly becoming very interested in its contents. Her fingers moved over it, investigating the food and using the ring on her finger to detect poison.
When her hand had made a full pass of the table and the ring hadn’t glowed, she reached out for one of the porcelain plates that were sitting in a pile next to the food. Her eyes glanced over some cookie like things, and settled on canapés in the shape of penguins. When she saw them, she closed her eyes and then opened them again, wondering what they were doing at a party like this.
