I'm sitting in my hotel room in... where am I? Melbourne? Adelaide? Wherever. Anyway, here I sit, tapping away at my laptop, about to go to bed and I figured I'd drop by and say hi.
So, y'know... hi.
The tour continues to go well. In fact, it's going great. Brilliantly. The response has been incredible, with so much energy and enthusiasm at each event. Signing queues have been massive, which is slightly less cool, because I just don't have the time to chat to each person as much as I'd like to, or even sign all of their books in some cases. Next time I'm over I'm going to INSIST that more time is left for signing. Some of these Minions-with-funny-accents go through an awful lot to get to me- some have been driving for 7 hours, some have even FLOWN in... The least I can do is have a chat and sign whatever they have. Sometimes that's just not possible, but I try my best.
I've met so many people from this Blog and the Forums and the Facebook pages (and the old Bebo page! Which I must reactivate... maybe... The Bebo page was DAUNTING because of the amount of comments and emails I'd have to answer every time I logged in... Every time I opened the Bebo page I'd spend HOURS there... no such thing as a quick dip in and out...)
Where was I? Oh yes, meeting a load of people I've only seen online. That's pretty cool, to be honest. I had no idea, for example, that Nixion or Calamity were Australian (well, maybe I did have an idea once, but I'd totally forgotten it). It's always so weird when I meet people and realise I know them from somewhere online- it's like we're old friends, and yet we've never met...
Another nice thing about being on tour is the amount of hyperventilating teenage girls who arrive in front of me. I swear, if Teenage Me ever found out what Adult Me is confronted with every day on tour, he'd be so insanely jealous... You're all hysterically funny and quite, quite odd.
When I get home I'll post pictures of some of the cool stuff I've been given (really, you'll have to see them to understand the coolness of some of your fellow Minions), but suffice it to say that I'm really glad I only packed half a suitcase worth of stuff- because I'll be going home with a LOT more than I came with.
Right then, just a few things before I go... According to the Facebook page, some stores in the UK and Ireland have already released KOTW. Naughty, naughty stores. On its OFFICIAL release date I'll put up a special Spoiler blog where you can discuss it here openly, but until then, please keep doing what you're doing and don't spoil it for the others. I'm very grateful to you all for the restraint you've shown so far.
Because of the fact that some schools are back early, some of the Irish times have been changed.

I haven’t dedicated in what feels like forever. Time goes by so quickly…It feels like just yesterday I stared at the comments section in Blogland…Wanting myself to say something, but not finding the courage to talk to the awesome Minions that dwell here and that have changed my life as much as you have.
In all honesty, I regret not saying something earlier on. Maybe I could’ve gotten to know you better? Well, I don’t know. That’s the funny thing about the past. You don’t know what could have been. But now, living in the present, I know I made the right decision logging onto my laptop…And commenting for the first time. Talking to all of you for the very first time was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made in my life. I couldn’t ask for a //family// better than the one I have here, after all.
My past isn’t exactly the best…It’s a little scarred, here and there. Some of you know more than others. But, I’ll admit it. I self-harm, I’ve attempted suicide more times than I can count, and I’ve almost run away from home so many times…I used to refuse to eat, as well. But, you know, I’m proud of my past. I shouldn’t be ashamed. It was my way of coping. I mean, I was once given a few weeks to live at most. But I am here now, with breath in my lungs, a beat in my heart, a glint in my eyes and a smile on my face. Because despite what my past holds, it’s what has made me who I am today. And I am proud of who I am today. No-one can change my opinion of myself, because I am the best person I could ever be. My past may be the home of a demon that haunt me…But that’s the past. That’s no longer here.
Now, the future on the other hand…That’s going to be so much brighter than things may seem, right now. I’m going to be smiling, because I’ve found true friendship. I’ve found people that mean more to me than my real family do. I would more than happily risk my life to put even the smallest of smiles on their faces. I love them more than anything in the world. I would do anything I could if it meant I could meet them….Even if it was only for an hour. But I one day hope that I can be there and hug some of you guys and tell you everything is going to get better…Tell you how much I love you. Even some of you that I’ve only recently started talking to- like Kallie and Hellboy (because let’s face it you two are some of the most perfect people I’ve ever known okay! <3).
And to the present…Living in the present is the best way to live. Don’t live in the past because that is just what once was…It’s not coming back. You have to let it go. No matter how good or bad it was, the present will have so many surprises in store for you! The future…That’s for your dreams. The inspiration and motivation to keep you going! When things get tough in the present, remember that the future will be better and you just have to hold on…
Time goes by too fast…Don’t let the most precious moments in life slip through your fingers by living in the past or future. Live in the present, because…

I always have the latest book on hand and I carry it around everywhere
one day one of my teachers finally asked about it and I told it was the best. book. ever.
My Reading teacher was intrigued. I told her Derek was epic but he isnt able to tour America. She told me whoever wont let him is brainless
I think it's mainly because only the first three books are out in America, but I don't know why they won't release the rest or release them at the same time. We can still read them even though it seems they don't use the letter "z"
My science teacher told us to take out a book for when we were done with our test and as she walked past I noticed her staring at my copy of Death Bringer... I looked up and said, "It's awesome." and she looked away and kept walking around...
It was funny.
I always forgot to put a "z" in words... I always use an "s" because I've read the Skulduggery books too many times.
Tori my advice is to write to HarperCollins in the USA I did. My parents are looking over to make sure Im okay grammar and spelling wise. I basically flipped politly that Derek isnt here and its not like you can say it wont work. You dont know til you try.

Hi Derek! I just wanted to say thanks, it was great seeing you in person, and I think that you are a great role model for young kids, don't put yourself down! Well, it's still an English guy doing an American accent, which is always amusing.

What does an American accent sound like? cause I'm American so I can't hear it, and I want to know.
It's how you talk. You know how English people sound epic when they talk? That's their English accent. To them, we sound way different because we have an American accent. It's like how different countries sound different even when they all speak the same language.

I know what an accent is. I was just wondering if there was another accent you could say sounds somewhat like an American, so I get an idea of what we sound like to people in different countries.

An example of an American accent would be a southern one compared to a different one. You don't hear your own accent because that's just how you and most of the people around you talk.
I dedicate this page to, thunder storms and Em. Thunderstorms are fun. I love the thunder and its fun to watch the lightning. Usually i sit on the steps til it rains then I bolt. My brother tried sacrficing me to the 'lightning gods' the things I seen in storms...fun. Em, you need to get better we all love our damned Sanctuary agent.
