I woke up to the news this morning but it didn't really sink in because it was so surreal but like everyone is saying something about it so then I was like "I guess it must be real"
I can't say that I'm a huge Grimmie fan, but I'd stumbled across her YouTube channel a couple times, and several musicians I follow were inspired by her or in the same social circles, etc, and she was mentioned fairly often on music blogs I follow.
It fucking sucks
Pro-gun people-- ignoring the serious gun problem in this country so y'all can have your right to keep and bear arms is really not a solution. Sit your butts down and start brainstorming ways to keep guns out of the hands of criminals without taking them from law-abiding citizens if this issue really means so much to you. If you come up with something, I'm willing to listen. I'm fucking sick of seeing the same conversation every time there's a gun related death (which is so fucking often that it's hard not to become desensitized to it, which adds a whole new level of scary if you think about it).
Bad person: *shoots one or more innocent victims*
Dude1: We need to do something to stop ppl like that from getting guns so easily. *maybe suggests something like stricter background checks*
Dude2: No! Don't take guns away from law-abiding citizens like me! That infringes the second amendment!
There's a level of communication that's missing, and the only way we're gonna get anywhere is if people stop being so unwilling to compromise.
I actually recall seeing a video where Obama answered a question from a dude who voiced an opinion similar to Dude2, and Obama was like "I've never advocated taking guns away from law-abiding citizens and also it's really hard to get things done. I can put known associates of terrorist groups on the no-fly list, but if I try to pass a bill to stop them from purchasing guns, the NRA goes bat-shit crazy."
Except Obama said it with more class and less angry teenager, obviously.
It just...scares me so much how strongly divided this country has become. If we don't find common ground and a way to move forward (not just limited to gun control here), we're fucked.
...
I'm sorry, this has been mulling around in my head all day.
The government has fucking drones and fucking nuclear bombs. If they really want to kill you, your little guns are going to be able to do squat all to stop it. Duuude.
Personally, I live in Britain, and we have faaarrr fewer guns. You know what we also have less of? Shootings. Less people die because we have less guns. By having stricter gun laws and less of a gun culture, we are literally preventing deaths. I don't know, what's more important to you - the slim chance that your guns might be able to help you if the government comes after you with drones, or the high chance of protecting the lives of many innocent people, including children? To me, it seems like a no brainer.
(And of course the mass shooting is in a gay club.
You know, I love all my American friends, you're awesome.
BUT FOR CHRISTS SAKES IF YOU CAN MAKE IT ILLEGAL TO OWN A FERRIT, which for some reason is a legitimate law in some parts of America, YOU CAN MAKE IT ILLEGAL TO HAVE A GUN! I understand that some people want guns for protection but who are you protecting yourself against? Unless the other person has a gun you likely don't need one to protect yourself. And if they have a gun it's probably because it's not illegal to own a gun and they bought one.)
(I didn't listen to Christina Grimme, I don't think I've really heard of her before except maybe in passing although I might have heard some of her music without knowing it was hers, I'm not sure. But either was its wrong that she was shot. I hope all her fans are okay, because some people rely very heavily on music from their celebrities to maintain an emotional balance. And I hope her family is okay, I wouldn't know what it's like to lose a sister or a child, but I imagine it's very destructive and I hope her family get through this hard time as best they can.)
Guns are not And have never not Been used for good- I mean. There has been instances of "bad good", such as for killing a murderer But that isn't good either
*hates it* *hates it so much* I want guns to be banned. I understand it isn't possible to just suddenly ban all guns, but can we at least start with stricter background checks and guns that are less accessible in people's homes??
It's because People believe that, inherently, it is okay to kill someone if they are trying to kill you
No
Don't do that
No
You are taking someone's life- and it's appalling that so many of the Republican gun activists are religious as well.
It isn't okay to kill ANYONE. I don't condone the killing of anyone- even terrorists. It isn't okay. Especially if the people whom you are killing are mentally unstable- you can't know to what extent their actions are theirs.
To the problem therein lies with those who believe, inherently, in killing.
I wish guns were banned. There are other ways of solving these things. And, of course, I understand that in times of war, the enemy may have a gun etc, but then why not just try to move around war?
I just
It isn't okay to kill anyone. And your owning a gun means that you are okay with that happening- because honestly, even a shot to the leg could kill someone. Most people who own a gun haven't been in high intensity situations where they are scared, confused, and unaware of what they are doing. It can be argued that, in those moments, an untrained person with a legal gun is just as bad as an assailant
We do, Silente, but people can be stubborn. And people are given certain morals- we know that guns are dangerous, but it's just a part of culture in many places of the country.
Again, people refuse to trust the police to do their job. Which is understandable- police may take a while to reach the destination of conflict But many people think the system so corrupt, and trust and choose themselves over a trained professional.
:/ If people want to protect themselves, take a defense class. Carry pepper spray. Just
Bet you didn't think / I could walk through fire / Come out stronger on the other side
I can't believe.. :/
It's so hard to understand how people can see stuff like this happen and still feel that... people having guns isn't a problem.
Over here, even the majority of our police officers cannot legally carry a gun. (I just looked up the UK policies to check that. According to Wikipedia, across England and Wales over 2011-2012, firearms were authorised (for firearms trained officers only) in 12'550 police operations. Which seems like a lot to me? But then you see that, out of all of them, they only used those firearms 5 times. That's less than 0.04%. Clearly, there are other ways of doing things. :/) And.. It's easier to have faith in a legal system that you know is not about to kill you, y'know? To an extent... it might be a matter of mutual trust. But if people don't trust the police, so they buy a gun - and now the police don't trust them... How do you get out of that..? Nobody wants to let go of their gun because thet don't trust the other people who carry them. :/
We have good laws.. We do It's just The super crazy people who worry about our second amendment
And to be fair- the United States is the third largest country in the world. Minority groups in our country may be larger than majorities in smaller countries. It's just unfortunate that gun policy is a political topic; many people who label themselves with a party often blindly follow it; thus affects the gun policy with predominantly conservative opinions
People just see: "oh, there is a Republican overall idea that we believe in the right to bear arms. As a republican, I guess I believe this", but people are afraid to think for themselves
Idk, in general I prefer our laws far better. Like, we have the NHS. However . . . the US is a big place. It makes more sense to compare it to Europe as opposed to just Britain.
People like to avoid THINKING, that's the main issue. If we all used a lot more logic the world would be a whole lot better off. However, y'know, life is what life is.

The President hasn't begun yet. Nether has the live stream. I don't know what is taking so long, unless something else has developed, or they haven't finished writin his statement
But any organized effort of this scale is a terrorist attack: it is possible to be both. The victims this morning were gay, bi, transsexual- but they are Americans, too.
The President made this all clear ^ and I agree. I'm sure gun rights will be at the forefront of the election, now. He made a remark of the "increasing" easiness of people's ability to get ahold of guns
This has been the fifteenth time that the Preisdent has been called to brief the press abou a mass shooting, over his eight year term. Fifteenth. Additionally, this is the largest shooting in American history.
The man from earlier, who was talking about how he would like to support trump, so that Muslims and Middle Easterns would be thrown from the county, was black. I was really surprised- being a minority, that he would be racist like that.
I just All of my non-majority friends have typically felt the bitter sting of racism I was really disheartened to hear it from this man
Most terrorists are alright with them being killed. After 9/11, there was a reason why no one talked about the terrorists on the planes. Had news stations spread their name, they would have achieved their martyrdom. Most terrorists are very sick, too, and have been brainwashed. To them, they are doing a service, and it is honorable. Kinda like when a soldier is killed in the line of duty
Also, I'm not sure that is all the, Chloe- I know that that story is how Osama bin Laden brainwashed his followers, but I'm not sure if that is an all-around accepted thing
Michael: *notices the shaking* *frowns slightly before looking away* *stands up, dusting off his legs, scowling at the stupid outfit he's still wearing*
Michael: *takes her apple core, putting it in the manger of a different stable for the horse to eat* *comes back, taking Alys' hand, walking with her to the kitchen* Take it easy today.
Michael: We will, tonight. I'll get us out tonight but we've no chance of running during the day.. *pauses at the kitchen door, glancing at her* Are you going to be okay?
Did I ever ask for sympathy or any of the sorts? Sympathy is possibly one of the only things that makes me gag more than love.
It's actually hilarious. She broke up like 1 week in and got a girlfriend before she even broke up with me. What a comedian! I applauded myself, is pretty entertaining. She could've done better though. She could've shown me a porn video of her screwing that girls.
What? Wasn't that the most hilarious thing you've heard? I guess not for you.
I think she would make for a pretty good stand up comedian. She kinda ruined it though. She kept telling me how I was special and how she loved me *gags a bit* after that.
It was entertaining until that point. Became annoying after that.

Furry 1: hello gorgeous
Count: now your quarters..
Michael: Where are you making me sleep then. The horse stables? The bins?
Count; in the male section
Michael: Fine. Where am I going?
Count: this way *starts walking*
Michael: *follows him, glaring at his back as if he could bore a hole through the mans chest*
Count: *stops at a staircase going down € there you are, good night
Michael: *frowns, looking around the room he's been taken to*
Uh
*the room Michael is in is full of female furries on heat*
Female 1: hmmm what is this I see?
Male 1: what a pretty fox.. *plays with her hair*
Michael: *growls*
Where are all the male furries!
*turns to the door immediately*
Female; he will shock you again *wraps arms around his waist*
Alys: *whimpers as a male furry puns her down and covers her mouth*
Michael: Hey!
*pushes her away*
Get off me!
*tries to open the door*
Female 2 : *wraps legs around him* do t do that..
*the males are doing things to Alys but she can't fight them off*
Michael: HEY!
*shoves her away, untangling himself*
Leave me alone!
female 1: we only want to make your stay here.. Pleasurable as possible
Alys: *lays there, weak and unable to move as a third male gets closer*
Michael: Back off.
*yanks on the door*
Furry 2: *pushes him into a 'bed' * you're staying here
Michael: Get OFF!
*shoves her back, sitting up as quickly as he can*
Furry 1: the count will reprimand you
Alys: *lays there, blacked out*
Michael: The count can do whatever the hell he wants, I'm not staying in here.
*yanks the door open quickly*
Furry 1: whatever..
Michael: *quickly slips out, slamming the door shut, shuddering*
*grumbles to himself*
Furry 1: *pouts* we could've had fun with him
Michael: *quickly runs back to the kitchen*
*starts following Alys' scent to where she was sent*
Alys; *whimpers*
Furry 1: *grins* we've never had such a beauty before
Who's turn is it next?
Michael: *reaches the room, kicking the door open*
*pauses at the sight, taking it all in*
*steps forwards, into the room*
*growls*
Everyone. Out. Now.
Alys: *whimoers as furry 4 holds her* make us *licks down her neck*
Michael: There's a room full of female furries who only want to mate down the stairs.
*steps forwards*
Go get them and leave. Her. Alone.
Furry 4: but she's so pretty.. Why should we let
You have her all to your self?
Michael: Let her go, now. Don't make me ask again.
*glares at all the furries in the room*
Furry 3: let him have her
We know how much they'll suffer tomorrow.. The count will work them so hard they won't be able to fight tomorrow.. Not like this fox could fight at all tonigh..
Furry 4: *throws her to the floor* fine
Michael: Thank you.
*steps forwards and smashes his fist into furry 4's face*
And don't ever touch her again.
*picks Alys up, backing out of the room*
Alys: m m.. *whimpers*
Michael: *walks out*
*breathes a slight sigh of relief*
*carries her to the stables - he presumes they'll be safer there*
*walks into a spare stable and lays her down on the saw dust*
*crouches in the opposite corner*
Alys: *curls up and cries silently*
Michael: *shakes his head and stands up*
Stay here. No one will come in. I have so business to attend to.
Alys: s stay..
Michael: *looks at her*
*crouches in the corner again*
*is quiet for a while*
Go to sleep. I'll keep watch.
Alys: y you need rest...
Michael: I said sleep.
Alys: o okay *lays downs sculls up, closing her eyes*
Michael: *stays crouched, watching the door intensely*
*time skip till morning?*
Alys: *okay*
Michael: *walks in carrying two apples which he stole from the horse food section*
*is eating one of them*
*goes back to sitting in the corner*
*looks absolutely exhausted*
Alys: *wakes up, about to scream but bites her lip *
Michael: *looks over at her*
*hasnt slept all night*
*grunts, nodding at her by way of greetting*
*holds the second apple out to her*
Alys: *takes it* take it easy..
Michael: *keeps eating his apple*
And let you get run down? No.
*his exhaustion is half the shocks from yesterday half not sleeping*
That won't be good for you. From not on we don't split up.
Alys: *looks down* o okay..
Michael: Eat quickly, we should probably get the the kitchen.
*focuses on eating his apple quicky*
In the seventh and eighth grades, I loved to watch Christina's videos- she was so nerdy (Zelda always)- and I just
I have never cried of a celebrity death- not Alan Rickman, or Prince

I'm just going to.. *curls up*)

(*hugs*)
(Surely if they did stricter. And more thorough background checks, dude 2 would have nothing to worry about if he's a law abiding citizen)
Exactly
People get so defensive over it though
I actually had a bit of a fight with a guy from art club over this issue
A lot of it's misinformation, or fear of the government
Because obviously the preplanned military drill that was announced beforehand and stuff was actually an invasion of Texas
A lot of politicians benefit from giving the people something illogical to fear though
Usually it's Obama or foreigners or other politicians
It's really fucked up
America's basically destroying itself
It's almost 1AM

If you do want to talk Jai, Chloe knows how to get me
bye
I mean, it's quite possible it was a terrorist attack on LGBT. The murderer was on some sort of FBI watchlist(?) and he targeted a gay nightclub.
(Bye Jack..)
It is an attack on LGBTQ. It is a hate crime.
(Yeah, true.
But apparently his family said he wasn't very religious?)
(*pops in*
How come I'm hardly here when Jack is? )
(Okay *nods*)
(Hi Chloe.
And I have no idea..)
I think it's pitiful when a person/group of people hate(s) on one single thing.
I mean why hate one thing when you can hate everything?
(Hate isn't the answer)
This has been the fifteenth time that the Preisdent has been called to brief the press abou a mass shooting, over his eight year term.
Fifteenth.
Additionally, this is the largest shooting in American history.
Is it a coincidence that today is 6/12/16?
I don't know
Religion doesn't have much to do for motive. This attack is about power. It is likely that religion will just become the justification
well, since most terrorist attacks are planned (ha, how pathetic) I would not be surprised if the date was also well placed.
(I hate how stuff like this gives the whole 'religion' thing a bad name)
(Fera.. Please don't be joking about this. It's serious.)
Joking? What are you talking about?
("Ha, how pathetic"
I know the insult is aimed at the terrorist.. But still.)
Terrorism doesn't need to have a religious link, it's about politics/ideology.. ^^
Hey Chloe.
(*sighs*
)
(Prynhawn da TAIA
Sut wyt ti)
I wasn't joking at all. I seriously think it's weak to plan something like that just to get killed at the end.
(*hugs Chloe tightly*)
I know.
The man from earlier, who was talking about how he would like to support trump, so that Muslims and Middle Easterns would be thrown from the county, was black. I was really surprised- being a minority, that he would be racist like that.
I just
All of my non-majority friends have typically felt the bitter sting of racism
I was really disheartened to hear it from this man
(*hugs jai*)
Most terrorists are alright with them being killed.
After 9/11, there was a reason why no one talked about the terrorists on the planes. Had news stations spread their name, they would have achieved their martyrdom.
Most terrorists are very sick, too, and have been brainwashed. To them, they are doing a service, and it is honorable.
Kinda like when a soldier is killed in the line of duty
(*keeps cuddling Chloe*)
The way i see it, it's not just like a soldier being killed. It's exactly the same. It's just one side is the majority and considered the "good".
(*cuddles Jai*
Well religious terrorists normally believe in some sort of paradise after death)
Yeah, I got your point of view.
I'm explaining that they don't give a flying fuck. If they are going to do it, they will.
There's no data on the list for Florida. That's odd. :-/
(*plays with Chloe's hair*)
Also, I'm not sure that is all the, Chloe- I know that that story is how Osama bin Laden brainwashed his followers, but I'm not sure if that is an all-around accepted thing
(*doesnt have much hair to play with*
*debates whether to leave it grow*)
(*dont care*
*keeps playing with the hair*)
Yeah I guess. Though that just further proves their pathetic existence (or non-existence shortly after one of these attacks)
(Okay.. It was just my logic is all ^.^
I don't really know much on the subject)
*hugs Chloe*
Dydw i... ddim yn wych? :/ A ti?
(msd)
(@Chloe you busy Bach?)
(*raises an eyebrow at Jai*
Dw i'n wedi blino..)
:/ IS is taking responsibility
This is shit
(Is.. Is that a yes..?)
(I'm open for rp)
(*smiles and snuggles* Yey)
Michael: Eat quickly, we should probably get the the kitchen. We don't want the count to know we slept here.
*focuses on eating his apple*
(*snuggles*)
AlysD *eats *
(Fwiend)
Michael: *polishes off his apply quickly, swallowing*
*looks at Alys, waiting for her*
*pukes a bit* sorry, I am allergic to love and kind stuff.
(Fwiend)
Alys: *eats as fast as she can when shaking -8
(*glares at Fera*)
Michael: *notices the shaking*
*frowns slightly before looking away*
*stands up, dusting off his legs, scowling at the stupid outfit he's still wearing*
Well
Bye then
(Bye Noelle..)
(FERA
Back
Off
I thought you scored a girlfriend so shouldn't you be all loved up and stuff)-
Alys: *gets herself to stand up *
Michael: *takes her apple core, putting it in the manger of a different stable for the horse to eat*
*comes back, taking Alys' hand, walking with her to the kitchen*
Take it easy today.
Alys: I w want to leave...
Michael: We will, tonight. I'll get us out tonight but we've no chance of running during the day..
*pauses at the kitchen door, glancing at her*
Are you going to be okay?
Alys: I I'll be okay.. *dorces a small smile*
Michael: *nods and pushes the door open, walking in with her*
*glarws at every man furry from last night*
Count: about time . I was wondering where you were
Michael: *growls and lunges at the count, grabbing his shirt and slamming him back against the wall*
Count: *zaps him*
Alys: Michael! *catches him*
Michael: *jerks and falls back against Alys*
*growls, forcing strength into his muscles and standing up properly again*
You lying sunuvabeech
that's a funny story actually, chloe.
Alys: back d down M Michael..
Count: keep him tame foxy.. Now your chores..
(Oh is there?
I will be sympathetic to a degree but honest to god it's hard to feel sorry for you)
Michael: *grits his teeth, glaring silently but listening obediently*
*wants to punch the count*
*so much*
Count: today you'll have to clear out the pig sty which hasn't been done in ages
Michael: No.
Count: *zaps in* you will do it
Did I ever ask for sympathy or any of the sorts? Sympathy is possibly one of the only things that makes me gag more than love.
It's actually hilarious. She broke up like 1 week in and got a girlfriend before she even broke up with me. What a comedian!
I applauded myself, is pretty entertaining. She could've done better though. She could've shown me a porn video of her screwing that girls.
That would have made for an even better joke :)
Michael: *jerks and spasms, growling, dropping to his hands and knees*
*pants slightly*
No.
(...
Just..
No.)
(And that's why people dislike you
I'm actually a nice person but ..)
Alys: *cries* Michael! Please..
Michael: *looks up at Alys*
*glares at the Count*
We're eating tonight. Understood?
Count: of course *smirks*
Michael: *glares at him*
*stands up, turning to Alys*
Where are the stys. Other than that pigs room.
Alys: I I'll show you
(I don't see the humour)
Michael: Okay.
*takes her hand, walking out of the kitchen with her*
(And you can't hold it against someone for being attracted to the same sex
I realise it was bad that she did it whilst she was with you though)
Do I look like i am holding it against her? I mean, not that I wouldn't hurt her but that would just be for shits and giggles if i ever did.
Alys: *looks down*
(..you don't hurt someone for shits and giggles..)
