With Desolation only a few days away, I am still hard at work on the third and final Demon Road book.
From the beginning, I wanted these books to be as streamlined as possible — I wanted them short and punchy. Now, I completely failed with Demon Road, as it was a pretty big book, and only got slightly better with Desolation, which is shorter, but it looks like I'm finally getting the hang of this with Book 3, which will hopefully be the perfect length.

I was gonna suggest she try talking to them, but y'know I was several hours late . . .
As someone who's always hung around near the bottom of the social order, the other people at the bottom do tend to be a little weird and/or annoying . . . which I mean, it's sad that they get excluded and all because it's not usually because they'Re mean, but like, it's just honestly hard to like hanging around with them. But you do get some people who are alright but just haven't managed to make friends and are quiet. New girls are often in this category . . . I mean, some new girls just fit in immediately, bit then some aren't normal enough to fit in and they just end up on their own. I guess that was me when I was eight, haha. But no, I always know I should go up to these loners and try to befriend them because I know it sucks being alone and I know they're probably perfectly alright people, but like, I never go talk to them because a) I'm afraid and b) I'd rather spend time with my friends.
When I get to uni though, if I end up on my own without friends (I can see that happening bevause I honestly don't know how to take action to avoid it), I'm probably going to go up and try to befriend loners. Or at lEast, I'll try very hArd to make myself. I'll be terrified. And some of them might really not like it (I know I didn't when I was eight), and if they give off enough of a "go away" vibe I'll leave them alone (I'm not good at keeping pressuring), but if they seem to like my presence I guess I'll just keep coming to chat with 'em and I guess we'll become friends, I don't know. Idk if I have enough courage I'm sure I'll manage to befriend someone somehow and if not I'm sure I'll eventually adapt to being on my own.

But yeah *nods* I hope Noelle managed to survive prom and find someone to talk to. But if not, it's over now :) so it's okay - you never have to deal with it again.
*sigh* I'm drawing with a blanket over my head so I can actually see the colours on my phone screen (full brightness and it's not even sunny, ugh, plus if I close the blinds and use electric light I can't see the colours on the paper properly -_-) but because of this my pencils keep catching on my hair bleh. *looks annoyed*

*nods at Gemma* I'm just really bad at making friends because I never really worked out how to do it. XD And I'm only good at keeping them if I care enough to put the commitment in. Which is rare. I usually lose my friends after they move away because I don't put the effort in to keep it going. The only friend I've ever stopped seeing in school AND haven't lost is Lizzie.
I don't . . . I don't understand most people's conception of popularity, tbh. It's always been sort of weird people vs. popular people but I never understood it because it the weird people had as many friends as the "popular" people, they just ran in different circles . . .
I think popularity is only a good thing if you're the kind of person who likes that kind of social interaction, too. I've always only had a few close friends, and I like that better than having friends I don't know as well (being with people I don't know drains me (introversion), but being with people I know well drains me much less so it's almost like I get to switch off and recharge around them). So yeah, if I never have that many friends, I think that's okay so long as I like the ones I do have. But other people would prefer a wider circle of friends but not be that close to many of them (what I call "close" they may call "clingy," so).
My point is, popularity is often overvalued. You can not be a failure at the friebd/social interaction thing whilst not being popular.

There's a lot of beliefs that I laugh at but that I try to be more respectful about when I'm in public or with people who hold those beliefs.
Oh plus I'd like to add that there's this person on AVEN who believes homosexuality is a sin, and they're such a nice open-minded person who totally believes in people's right to be gay even if she personally disagrees with it (but who'll also insist that she knows plenty of people who believe homosexuality is a sin and aren't so keen on gay rights and are still decent people).

If a human wants to consider themselves married to their pet, I don't consider it a binding legal contact but I don't think they've done any harm to their pet. If they have sex with their pet . . . I once read a long debate about that one, but in general I'd put sex with animals into the "do not do that" bucket. (Animals can't consent, if they're smaller than you you could harm them, etc.)

But does anyone know that feeling you get when you're listening to fast-paced and/or multi-faceted music really loud, and it's just like liquid fire is pouring through your veins and lighting you up, and you're soaring . . . it's like you're just rising and floating and feel alive, it's fabulous. Tbh when I go on a funfair ride it often reminds me of listen to music. It's beautiful.
:) I get that feeling pretty rarely though. I only get it with some songs, and once I've listened to them a certain amount, I stop feeling it.

@Gem idk, but music makes me think of its uses, I picture a scene where the music fits. So if the music is gripping and tense, I picture gunfire and explosions, since that's what I'd associate it with if it was used in a film. If the song makes me focus on the lyrics, I'd imagine what they symbolise.
Music can also help me get into a mood, say, I'm relaxing, and I'm trying to get myself to relax even more, I put relaxing music on, which makes my brain think about doing relaxing, which it will keep doing.
