Just so you know what's going on (I think you both missed most of the start of my RP), all the nearby Sensitives have gathered together. It's Pixie (rude, snappy, but trustworthy), Lauren (Official, stiff but efficient), Jamie (wimpy and snooty) and Saph.

*The green light bursts into flames so bright it feels like Saph's been stabbed in both eyes*
*She cries out involuntarily and stumbles backward, feeling the coffee table bang into the back of her legs*
*Saph can hear Lauren cursing something as she recoils from the intense heat, and then the ringing in her ears and the spots in her vision fade until she can see and hear again*
*Coughs, stumbling. Jamie is sheltering behind the couch and Lauren is lying on the carpet, one arm up across her eyes*
Saph; Lauren? *Tries to take a step towards her, but the world is spinning and fluxing*
*Pixie is suddenly next to her, holding her elbow* Woah, there. *Guides Saph to the sofa and sets her down as Jamie fusses over Lauren on the floor*
*Pixie watches with amused interest* Seriously, were none of you smart enough to turn away from that thing? *gestures to the circle, where the flames have settled into a steady white glow, still too bright for Saph to look directly at it*
Saph; Uhhh. *squeezes her eyes shut*
Lauren; *Coughs and tries to say something, but her eyes roll back and she faints in Jamie's arms*
Jamie; *Glares at Pixie* Shut up and be pleasant. Can't you see how much effort Lauren put into that?
Pixie; Well, right now she's putting a lot of effort into being unconscious
*Saph groans and manages to sit up, sliding to her feet and stopping the argument*
*Sways slightly, then rights herself and steps towards the circle*
*Jamie flows to his feet and bars her way* No. Lauren never told us what to do when the portal was open. It's too dangerous!
*Pixie wanders around to the other side, examining the light with a sort of clinical detachment* Well, it looks simple enough to me, yes? We just have to walk in. *She stretches out her fingertips to brush the white glow, sharply lit for just a moment before she steps straight into the light*
Fabi; Well, seeing as one of those steps involves being in Seattle, I could visit you! :P
However, I heard a rumour about some sort of school exchange to Tasmania in three years.

Today in French, we had this on the board:

And someone put their hand up and said "Miss, in English we say "I need paper," not "I need a paper." (Because my French teacher's Spanish.)
And she kind of said something along the liens of: "Oh." *frowns* "But you do say "I need a pen," yes?"
Him: "Yes, but you don't say a paper."
Her: *crosses out the 'a'* "You see, that makes no sense to me at all . . ."
And I was like, just talking to myself: "It's the plural. The plural of page."
And someone near me was like, "But the plural of page is pages!"
And I was like oh.
And I thought about it.
And it made NO sense whatsoever.
It was completely stupid.
And then around five minutes later when everyone had forgotten about it, I suddenly went "OH!"
And the girl next to me said, "What?"
And I said, "It's some! SOME paper! We used to say "I need some paper", but now we've dropped the some because . . ."
"We're lazy."
"Yes!"
And it's so fascinating, things like this. They're just there, and you never noticed them until they're pointed out to you. It's like how my mum works with all these people who don't speak English very well, and she says it's just SO interesting, like when they were living in the Netherlands, but opposite.
Like, she said that the other day, someone asked her "Is enable a word in English?"
And she said yes.
And he asked "How do you spell it?"
And she told him.
And he was like, "So, you would say "I am enable to come to this appointment . . ."."
And she said, "Oh, no, that's a different word! That's UNable. U-n."
And he said "U-n?"
And she said "Yes."
And he corrected it.
And it's just so interesting, because we would never think. O_O
She says there's all these parents who don't speak English that well, though, and it's a nightmare. Like, there was this kid, and he could speak English because he'd learnt it a bit at school, but his mum couldn't, so she couldn't read any of the letters home, and when he got a detention he just told her it was something else and she never knew.
And the school they're all in is about to be closed down, because the exam results are really bad so the people looking at the scores see it as doing really badly and there being no point to it. However, that's because there are so many immigrants there - there are tons - and obviously if you've only just got to this country and you haven't had very good schooling (um, not all immigrants. But my mum works with loads of refugees) and you have to learn English at the same time, you've not going to be up to the standard that kids who've lived here all their lives are, because they have so much more to learn. And my mum says the school is actually really fantastic, and that it does brilliantly at integrating kids into our community, and that if you look at how much it's achieved, it's done amazingly well, but the people who decided it has to be closed down don't see that. They don't know that. They just look at the bad exam results in comparison to the rest of the country. *shrugs*

We're reading Lord of the Flies in English (havent started it we just did pre reading stuff) so our teacher asks what would wedo if the class was on a tropical island stranded with no adults. So we came up with try to organize a leader but then probably survival would kick in and we'd kill one another. So we all voted to kill Celine first because she'd kill us and then Nikki says to me: now we know why she's in LSODM. And I died. I just died it hurt to laugh.

In Percy Jackson and the Sea of Monsters, Percy's school is a little odd. So for their final assessment of Lord of the Flies they get put in the playground for an hour without supervision. Things went slightly mental. They got well done-d and all passed. XD
And for their final science test, they had to try and mix substances to make something blow up. Percy's partner knocked a lot of bottles over. An explosion occurred. After the fire department left, they got awarded for passing the assessment so quickly. XD

In the front of all the Gone books, they're quotes from people who've said good things about it, right? And one of them says "If Lord of the Flies was written by Stephen King, it might have been a little like this . . ."
Because Gone is basically a situation where a whole town's kids get abandoned with no adults. *shrugs*

AH MY TOOTH JUST FELL OUT
Okay.
So, for a few months, my brother has been struggling with severs anxiety and depression. It's gotten to the point where he twitches, like Parkinson's , or epilepsy. He lately was pulled out of school for about a week and since then has only managed about an hour or two of school a day.
So apparently, some teachers have sent my mom emails because he "reads non-curriculum books constantly in class" and is "a distraction", perhaps "escapism". And I'm like "well no shit, he has a lot of stuff to deal with. My question is, what the fuck in your class makes him want to withdrawal?"
So my school, being the distant bastards that they are, just completely ignore him, and offer no support.
At all.
Probably about 50% of the kids in that highschool flirt with the idea of self harm, and that school is so ignorant to it. To it all. When one of our friends jumped out the window last year they're like "oh that? Yeah, at Junior retreat, it was said he had struggles.." So they KNEW and they STILL DIDNT DO A FUCKING THING

and now, every day, I hope that I don't get called out of class at my school to my mom, saying that my brother jumped as well. Because I swear to god, I will hurt someone.
So yeah. My brother is failing most of his classes because his teachers aren't giving him time to work and aren't lenient with the due dates. They expect him to perform like a regular student.
I swear to god, I'm so done. And my brother can't switch schools because next year he goes off to college/uni whatever.

I'm fucking pissed off, and I'm glad I'm taking a fighting class to release my anger.

Adra I know it pisses me off. My English teacher now I'm Honors which is top set as high as one can go, my class average on the essay was a 63 the class average on the Antigone test was a 68. We're Honors you see that in appiled but no. Is something wrong? We're supposed ti get good grades high ones but we don't because she tests us poorly. I mean I had 90's last year! And summer work we failed miserably and all its so annoying she barely freakin does shit. And we ask for help she says no. I asked for clarification on the Antigone test she flipped saying I'm Honors i should know it. Well fucking duh I dont and i would like to pass English. So now she sas she'll let us redo the essay but Kevin asked and she told him she decided to not. What the fuck? So she's damn ignorant and thinks we should be mind readers when we're not. I hate her and then kids have issues and they dont care they dont you could drop fucking dead they'd step over you and be oh oops

Ta... It just... That school is worse. It used to be a reform school. When I say 50%, it's because those kids are actively depressed.

My German teacher is crap, and the only one that teaches GCSE German this year. I'm planning to teach myself German, and ask my parents to buy the GCSE textbooks and stuff. I don't think I'll be bothered to do a good job, though . . .
Without the not being bothered thing, could you do the same?

I can next year we only have them for a year but I can't teach myself because we don't know what she'll test us on. Like I can teach the plot to myself but any hidden meanings ect, we go over the things in class but when it came to the test for Antigone we were asked questions we did know but our answers weren't perfect for her. Like really?
