Laydeeeez an' gentleminions, I present to you, the KOTW paperback cover.
And Tom isn't even FINISHED it yet...! There's going to be some colour stuff happening, and some cool silver effects added and things, but even as it stands now, this is a cover that's going to pop out at you on the bookshelf. For Tom is awesome.
Speaking of paperbacks, we're going to start gradually removing the short stories from the reprints, with the aim of collecting everything (including the Tanith novella) into one big book in the spring of 2014. There'll be lots of brand new stories in there as well, covering the entire series. So will we see a short story starring Mr Bliss, back when he was alive? Will we see Val and pre-Remnant Tanith fighting side by side once again? Will we even catch a glimpse of Skulduggery and the Dead Men at war with Mevolent...?
To be honest I haven't a clue. I'm just making things up as I go along.
Be here on Friday for the Tanith cover...
EDIT EDIT EDIT EDIT
Annnnnd apparently I won't be revealing the Tanith cover until Friday the 23rd... bah!

«Oldest ‹Older 1201 – 1400 of 4804 Newer› Newest»(( I did. I'm constantly on potions that speed up healing))
*what little white skin there is starts slowly fading to gray*
Because she's an idiot... *walks over to Dimitri and Silente*
Silente wake up...*strokes the vampire's arm*
((I'm sorry I'm an idiot? Your stroking a vampire!))
*remains unresponsive and charred*
*her chest is barely moving up and down*
*but it is*
*weakly. Getting weaker with each exhale*
*welds Silente's dagger back together*
(Blake was that the barrier I created that was lowered?)
((No, the one I made at the start of the fight))
((Well, I didn't say I wasn't an idiot too.))
*lifts up all the soft snow and suspends it above tree level and walks around to try and find the bag with her serum in it*
(Oh)
-I pull out a syringe, sliding it beneath Silente's skin, giving her her elixir-
My work is done here, I have things to steal.
-I dissipate into the shadows-
*continues laying limp*
*her breathing is shallow*
*her skin is red, black and a ghostly gray*
*her body is still refusing to heal*
We apologise. This unit overestimated the amount of damage her organic form could take.
However, under the circumstances it was the most logical thing to do to ensure that the combat concluded safely and with minimal damage.
Why is Silente not healing? Is something wrong?
((Uh oh... erm guys..like explain before on the other blog I'm kinda allergic to the normally serum/elixure...))
*her body begins jerking weakly*
*her breaths become heavy and jaggered*
*pain sweeps through her body as her heart begins to weaken even more and her mind begins to fog*
oh...ya, I think I remember you saying something like that...
*moves palms apart, and electricity crackles between them*
*keeps an electric current going through Silente's heart to keep it going*
((Yeah.. I barely survived the one shot I had of it when I was STRONG....))
*Swears under my breath*
Chione look away.
*Shadows pierce Silente's skin and work through her veins, extracting as much of the serum as possible*
*her body continues to convulse violently and her arm begins to swell up*
*her breaths are shallow and fast*
*her eyes remain closed and neither her skin or her bones are healing*
*shivers and turns away, screwing her eyes shut*
I'm going to go guys!
Hope you get better, Silente!
((Why do I always end up on deaths door?!?!)
*the jerking owns but does not stop*
*sweat coats her body*
*her breaths are shallow*
*her healing is still not happening *
*she stays limp and unconscious hanging on by a thread*
((*slows))
I have to go now. Bye!
((Bye guys!))
((Bye Dragona, bye amethyst))
((^^im still here BTW was saying bye to dragon and the others who are leaving.))
*with dragon no longer pumping her heart she begins to slip*
Damn it...
*Begins CPR*
*starts breathing again*
*her heart is still weak and she is tired of fighting death*
*she lays there, fighting as she has for a long time, against deaths dusty embrace*
Chio, you may have to put her in a cryo-sleep if all else fails...
*I continue CPR, trying to get a steady heartbeat*
I will *watches over Blake and Silente*
((Cyro what now?))
*her breathing steadies into shallow but regular breaths*
*her heart and mind are still not working properly*
*her eyes remain closed and her body is still cold and limp*
((A cryogenic sleep state, a body is frozen at sub-zero temperatures to preserve it until a time it can be properly healed))
((Ah okay then. So freezing someone basically))
((To preserve them, yes))
*her mind begins to fade though the fight continues*
*her heart still refuses to beat*
*her breathing is still shallow*
*but its body still fights*
*a rattling breath leaves its lips as its heart gives up*
*its mind begins to cloud as its chest stills*
*Punches her chest in a last ditch effort to get a heart beat*
DAMNIT
*the beast lays there, broken and charred. Unrecognisable as the girl it once was*
*it lays there as it life slips away from it*
*some would say good ridance. Some might feel remorse or saddnes but few if any would cry at its loss.*
*in its last second of though image of her friends and family crossed her vision, remndi her that she wasn't alone. That she would be fine no matter what*
Still going...?
((Pretty much over now. I'm pretty much dead. ))
K its safe to come on
*as the darkness came she felt at peace*
*the pain was gone, she didn't have to fight*
*she didn't have to struggle*
*she just had to let go*
((Yeah its safe zaf))
*freezes Silente's body*
*is frozen on the very edge of death*
*still in vamp form she is encased in glass*
*her death is paused for now*
*but only for now*
((*encased in ice))
Zafira call Nicolo now. We need his healing.
I cant just call Niccolò!! God I can heal you know
((Yeah you said something about that with Erebus))
Then do so.
((You can't just force her to heal a vampire. A lot of people don't like them when their damaged in human form, never mind vamp form.))
((*they're))
*glares* If I end up in a coma it is your fault
*walks over to Silente and draws the sigils needed, pouring energy into them to heal her, and then falls to knees exhausted*
((Am I still frozen... I'm guessing I can't wake up..))
*he skin begins to change to a more natural white colour*
*her wounds begin to close*
*bones reconnect and heal*
*she stands in the ice mainly healed*
*waits until she's fully healed before melting the ice*
Don't go killin yourself Zaf, the point here is for nobody to die
*Lays her down next to Silente*
DING DIN DING DONG DEREK IS ALIVE ON TWITTER
*falls to the ground next to zaf*
*her jet black eyes fly open as her brain wakes up*
*her heart begins pumping again*
*it sucks in a deep breath *
*the human skin begins to regrow over the vampire*
*when her body has finally returned to human she rushes to zafs side*
ZAF! Are you okay? I didn't need that much energy! I haven't drained you have I?
*looks down at self a minute*
Ah shit!
*covers up body* erm..
((That moment when you regret never making a twitter...))
Im fine....im fine...
Good. Good erm...
Excuse me a sec I need er well...
*looks at self again* yeah.
*starts shuffling backwards searching for one of her bags of clothes without revealing anything*
*covers Silente in a dress*
Calm down and get back here you...
*nods at chio* right thanks, again.
*hug chio*
*whispers* sorry if I scared you. I'll try to avoid it happening again.
That was scarring
*step back* thanks zaf, you saved my life.
((Anyway guys I have to go now. Sorry for scarring you zaf. Ignore it. Bye!))
Of course (bye)
((Bye Silente!!!!)
((A little late but bai Silente))
O.o
-I appear, a new ring on my finger-
Im alive....
Hello...?
I kept thinking of blogland today.... well, actually I was thinking about Bastille, which for some odd reason makes me think of blogland.... I guess a lot of their songs just feel blogland-like....
Anyway, I just wanted to say I love you lot. For all your quirks and oddities, you're my second family.
....Hello?
Man, I haven't been on so long I don't even know what to say!
Anyone on?
Hi!
Excuse me for a second while I make My profile less Depressing
:)
Did you leave? You left, didn't you?
*cough*amazing*cough* --->
Roses are red,
Violets are blue
I only cry
When I watch Doctor Who
There once was a man called the doctor
Who's TARDIS was once taken by a chopper
He found this annoying
Til he started enjoying
This lovely ride from his stalkers.
You know you're bored when you start spouting doctor limericks...
Snow, I have to go soon because school, but I just wanted to tell you you're awesome. :)
#ChaseForBookNine
(Oh.
I was a bit late there. :P)
(Dammit.)
#ChaseForBookNine
Haha. XD
My sister and my friend G met each other in the changing rooms today, and they had a conversation, and do you know what they talked about? They talked about how I just started blathering on about things and how they just zoned out.
*facepalm*
#ChaseForBookNine
It's wonderful to know how much you're loved. :P
(Most people who know me zone out, though. I'm used to it.)
#ChaseForBookNine
*yesterday
*not today
#ChaseForBookNine
*huggles star* you are more awesome
BAGUETTE MAGIQUE
..
*pretends like I know what I'm doing*
Hello? Anybody here? I really need a real friend. A friend that won't spread shit about me.
I'll be back later. Bye!
hey Rhy!
Rhy don't leave i'm here!
*sigh* guess i'll stay here on my own then Rhy
*sings 'let it go' whilst dancing around in the snow*
gtg, be back in like 30 minutes guys.
Hey......I really just need a friend atm
I'll just wait here until someone comes along
Hey Rhydian! :)
*hugs*
Are you okay? :/
I'm here if you want to talk and here if you don't. :)
#ChaseForBookNine
You need a friend? I can try.
*nods* what's up Rhydi?
Hey, Silente. :)
#ChaseForBookNine
HEY STAR! How are you?
I'm good, thanks, Silente! :)
How are you? :)
Will probably be distant. I think I'm going to do homework.
Fun fun fun . . .
#ChaseForBookNine
I'm fine, just finished my homework. I don't mind if your distant.
Oops sorry for poofing!
Hey Rhydi you needed someone to talk to? I'm all ears. :-)
Oh yeah.....I just need to get my mind off a certain subject. A lot of shit has happened at school and I really want to forget about it. So how are you? Doing anything intersection?
Interesting***
Intersection? Nah nothing intersection. Anyway I'm fine thanks how are you?
I'm meh...But my friend in maths really made me laugh. Dunno why I don't talk to her more often. Avoiding homework
Tut tut you shouldn't avoid homework! Except maybe now cause if you leave it'll be me and the distant bubble...
Well, people will probably come on a blogfight soon, Rhydian. :)
(Roleplay has kind of disappeared. O_O)
#ChaseForBookNine
Rp? Disappeared? OMGG THATS SO WEIRD!!!!!!! Hi btw Star! How are you?
@Rhydian: That's yay. :)
I don't actually have any homework due in for tomorrow, but I think I'd better not quit whilst I'm ahead because every week I have tons in the first part of the week and very little in the second, so I'm thinking I should get some done now . . . :P
#ChaseForBookNine
@Rhydian: Well, none of the roleplayers have really been on either, I guess . . . :P
Fabi and Adra has mostly left. Not fully, just mostly.
I'm good, Rhydian. :)
I would ask you, but Silente just did . . . :P
#ChaseForBookNine
Yeah rp is dyeing... although I think I might be grounded by chio from blog fighting... or not
*shrugs* if I randomly poof I'm eating.
@Silente: Okay. :)
*have
I don't know how the hell I'm meant to pass my French and German assessments when I can't even speak in English. *facepalm*
#ChaseForBookNine
Aww poor star! I'm being forced to do GCSE french. Not happy. You can pass your exams! Which one is it? Speaking, listening, reading or writing?
I've taken two languages for GCSE because I'm smart like that. XD
Idk how your school works but we do all our speaking and writing (60% of our GCSE) in Year Ten, and all our listening a reading (40%) in year eleven, so . . .
German speaking soonish . . .
French writing sometime soonish after that, I thinkish . . .
I like French. :)
#ChaseForBookNine
Yes Silente, you are grounded from fighting. Bad girl.
You can't be forced, though, right-left? *frowns*
#ChaseForBookNine
Hey Chi! *laughs*
#ChaseForBookNine
Hello Star *hugs*
Thank you so much for ditching me during Admin btw Rhy.
What exactly IS Admin, Chio? :P
#ChaseForBookNine
Gtg. Not really in a talking Mood. Bye
Fours, Rhydian . . . :(
I hope you feel better soon. :)
#ChaseForBookNine
Hey. :)
mbd
#ChaseForBook9
Hey Taia. :)
#ChaseForBookNine
Hey I'm back! And chio its not my fault if someone self destructs on me. You really can't blame me.
Admin is computer stuff. Databases, spreadsheets, letters and stuff.
Plus I'm fine now! I'm walking, talking. Other stuff. Alive. Healed. Just fine. And this is a lovely dress by the way.
Where was I? I forgot
The point that I was making
I said if I was smart that I would
Save up for a piece of string
And a rock to wind the string around
Hey Star! Hi Tempest! Hi Chione! :)
How are y'all?
#ChaseForBook9
I'm so tired and sad and cold and I feel like a slacker for not being a more active role-player, especially in recent days. May I have a hug?
Hey Taia! I'm fine thanks! What 'bout youz?
*hesitantly hugs annika*
*steps back and smiles* hey Anni. Sorry bout the hesitance... I don't really do hugs.
*tacklehugs Silente* Who says? :3
Neither do I. I think I've internet-hugged more people on here than I've hugged people in real life.
*hugs Silente*
Ugn *stands awkwardly* er says me? Chio come on let me go you know I don't do hugs unless its special...
*looks at her* chio. Let go. Let go chio.
@Taia: Awesomeness. O_O
I'm immensely frustrated because I'm trying to work out what this word I wrote in German is, and I don't know what the word means and I've tried all the combinations of letters it would be and spellcheck won't accept it and THIS IS WHY OUR FRENCH TEACHER MAKES US DO IT ON THE COMPUTER DAMMIT and then my German teacher tells me off for typing the majority of my work up and I don't get it because we both know that if I write it by hand neither of us will be able to read it and urgh.
I'm not sure WHY this is so frustrating, but I'm me, and it is. :P
*hugs Annika tightly* :) :)
Number one - find a radiator.
Number two - find some sleep. This can be done near radiators. It's multitasking-friendly like that. :P
Number three - :( *hugs*
Number four - Don't. :) :) It's perfectly fine not to roleplay 24/7. Like, I never roleplay, and half our roleplayers don't come on with astonishing frequency and the other half have mostly left Blogland, so . . .
#ChaseForBookNine
Oh, I never hug people irl. C:
Whereas on the internet, I'm just a huggle monster.
#ChaseForBookNine
*hugs Star*
Star, you like to read books, do you not?
Either way I don't really do hugs...not a hug-y person...
Chio. Release me.
I love to read books, Annika.
@Silente: Hugging people on the internet is EASY, though. You just type '*hugs*', and there you go, a little parcel of warmth and friendliness is released upon the world.
It's like a smile. It costs nothing, and it's so . . . smiley. :)
#ChaseForBookNine
"This sounds really abstract, but in order to begin wrapping a piece of string around itself, you need something to start with. Like a rock. I guess you can make a ball of string starting from nothing if you just make a tiny loop at the end of the string. But it seems theoretically impossible. It's a metaphor for getting started."
(I love how TMBG sound like absolute nonsense, but, actually, they just have a whole lot of amazing metaphors... :] )
*hugs Annika* Looks like you can have a few? :P ^^
You rule. :)
@Tempest: I'm good, thanks. :)
#ChaseForBook9
Still though I just..hugs...just...yeah. Not a hugger...
Chio let me go please.
I was wondering if you, Star, or anyone else here, had any books to recommend to me. I'm trying to expand my biggish-smallish library; I've got over 250 books thus far.
@Silente: And why aren't you a hugger?
(Serious question.)
(Or you can just not answer, idk. I'm being me. I can probably be ignored. :P)
@Taia: *nods*
That's beautiful. D':
#ChaseForBookNine
I'm just not. Don't really know why.
Chio seriously let me go girl.
Well, Annika, what kind of books are you looking for?
*is really just doing that irl thing where you kind of stall for time to keep the conversation going whilst you drift off inside your head, your mind screaming THINK THINK THINK, and attempt to come up with an answer fast enough*
*in other words, because I went off and detailed that, it totally failed because my thoughts were thinking about that instead, but the point is, it's interesting how I automatically did that . . .*
*anyway* *THINK THINK THINK*
*but it was a valid question*
#ChaseForBookNine
@Silente: *pounces with assumptions* Because possibly it doesn't fit in with your image of yourself.
You don't want to be that person. You want to be the kind of person you see yourself as.
Yes/no?
(I can be wrong, you know)
But anyway, if I'm not wrong, why don't you want to be that kind of person?
(If I am wrong, tell me, and I'll shuffle off to a corner muttering IT IS PROPER MUSIC)
#ChaseForBookNine
*hugs Star*
Smiles are AMAZING.
I mean, hugs are amazing, too, but, idk. Smiles are, like... Instinctive. idk. IT's like a contraction of specific facial muscles that just HAPPENS when you're happy, and it makes you happier, and it makes other people happy, and THEY smile, and that makes THEM happier, and it just goes on like that. idk.
Granted, it's not a parcel of physical warmth, and I've listed a bunch of other stuff once that hugs do, but smiles can happen over internets or reals and you don't have to have any awkward or hesitation AT ALL. Y'know? Smiles are such a universal thing. :)
#ChaseForBook9
All sorts of books, I suppose. I love urban fantasy. I don't really love plain fantasy or sci-fi as much, but I love paranormal books, books about monster hunting, dark books, funny books, steampunk, historical fiction, etc etc etc.
*waves hand carelessly*
I love all sorts of books.
@Taia: And that made me smile. :) :)
Yes!
*nods at the radifying-ness*
#ChaseForBookNine
Maybe that's it. Maybe I'm just weird *shrugs* either way.
*sighs* Fine
*Let's go of Silente*
Thank you chio. *streaches arms* anyway how are you chio?
Have you read the Gone series?
Because they're some of my favourite books.
#ChaseForBookNine
@Star: :)
@Annika: *a voice whispers from the shadows* Chaos Walking. :)
@Star: All music is proper music. *nods aggressively* :P
#ChaseForBook9
*waves arms wildly*
People continually tell me to read Chaos Walking!
What
even
is
it?
@Silente: Oh, I'm weird. :P
And do you know why I say I'm weird?
Because I like that label. I like the thought of it.
If I didn't, I'd probably be normal.
*nods sadly*
*casually advertising Gone here* They're not funny, but they are dark and violent, which can be seen either as a positive or as a negative or just as a trait, and it's . . . well, it's just really well written, and characters. *nods* I love how you have all the characters and how they all develop. And I also love the realism.
And it's about . . . well, in this small town in California, everyone over fifteen disappears.
No explanation, nothing.
Gone, poof.
And if that weren't enough, some of the kids have strange superpowers. Mutations.
(Yeah, that's a good enough spoiler-free intro.)
#ChaseForBookNine
@Star: *grins* :)
@Annika: THEN WHY HAVEN'T YOU READ IT YETTT? :P
It's basically
just
amazing
and
yeah.
Hang on.
*completely relates to Star's "THINK! THINK! THINK!" explanation up there* ^^
#CHaseForBook9
Begin weird is a GREAT label.
THANK YOU TAIA!!!!!!!!!!!
I ADORE CHAOS WALKING!
*wait for the description on the next comment*
#ChaseForBookNine
I just finished drawing a fan art of Mr. Crepsley from Cirque du Freak . . . I'm a little embarrassed that I read that series, but the books seem to get better and better as I keep going.
Admittedly, I'm only staying for Mr. Crepsley, but still.
*the 'thank you' being at the 'proper music' thing*
Anyway. Chaos Walking.
So, there's this planet, called the New World, named such because settlers from Earth came there to create a new life. On this planet, you can hear everybody's thoughts. All the animals, as well. Information, constant and neverending.
And that's the intro, really.
The why-I-like-it, which is the more important part . . .
Well, it's just so . . . ohmygosh. It's very depressing, but it just tackles so many issues and stuff. And that's probably why I like it so much. Because of the things like discrimination, and genocide, and people beating you up and you not helping them but then they give you a plaster and you do despite the fact it's their fault you need a plaster in the first place, and the fact that we all fall but that's not what's important it's what's getting back up again, and also all the questions we do in school like "why don't we do genetic screening?" and stuff the answer isn't all those logical moral arguments the answer is 'politics', and . . . lots of things.
And the writing style can take a bit of getting used to, because it's written as the main character thinks, exactly as he thinks, and grammar and spelling kind of go out the window a bit.
And it's also really well written.
And it's also a good story, if that's what you're looking for. Well, in my opinion. And it has things like long journeys to find hope or things representative of it, and people trying to kill you, and being chased by armies, and war, and bombs, and all sorts.
So
yeah.
(Hmm. Someone should shut me up before I get to into this describing books thing. :P)
#ChaseForBookNine
@Annika: Oh, I liked that book series. :)
Except for . . .
. . . yeah, I won't say that part. :P
#ChaseForBookNine
I believe I already know what part you're not saying,
and yes,
I know that happens,
and I'm still going to keep going.
For now.
I don't think you do know which part I'm not saying.
I don't know if this makes sense, but I think I know which part you think I'm not saying, and that's not the part I'm not saying.
But when you've finished, you have to tell me, so I can discuss various parts with you that need to be discussed. *nods*
#ChaseForBookNine
Does the part you're not saying have to do with Mr. Crepsley?
Perhaps a certain major occurrence that has to do with his character in . . . book . . . nine?
Sorry I poofed what are we talking about?
@Star: Darn! I was hoping you'd leap in and save me/help me out, there. :P
But- ME TOOOOO! :)
@Anni: It's kind of sci-fi/dystopia/YA amazingness.
There's basically this idea that, like...
THey're-
UGh.
Why are things hard to explain?
I don#t know where to begin, you know?
Is typing out the blurb cheating? :P
Ok. So there's this planet. And it's called New World. And it's inhabitied by this group of Christian settlers from Old World. And due to reasons-
Okay, so I refreshed and Star's description is WAAAAAYYYYY better than mine was ever going to be. BUt I'd like to point out that we both chose to begin with "So, there's this planet...", which maybe counts for something? :P
The quotation at the beginning of the first book, just following the dedication, is as follows:
If we had a keen vision
and feeling of all ordinary human life
it would be like hearing the grass grow
and the squirrel's heart beat, and we
would die of that roar which lies on
the other side of silence.
George Elliot, Middlemarch
And if I'd written my description, then that would have been, to me, a pretty big part of it. But I didn't. SO I'm just gonna kind of staple it to the end of Star's instead. Not that Star's desciption needs anything added, I just really like that quotation, so.. :P ^^
#ChaseForBook9
@Silente: CHAOS WALKING. :)
And other books.
@Annika: No. :P The thing I'm not saying is really rather insignificant, in a way.
I could go on to say things about things, but . . . yeah. Spoilers. :P
#ChaseForBookNine
@Taia: *hugs* :)
No, if you'd written yours, it would have been better than mine. :P
Or maybe they'd be equally good in different ways.
But we'd both feel the other said what we were trying to say better.
Probably.
Possibly.
Potentially.
It is an amazing quote. :) :) :) :)
#ChaseForBookNine
Okay.
Well.
That was a weird and vague conversation we just had.
*is ghosting cause not really here*
I haven't heard of CHAOS WALKING before. Anyway
I dedicate this page to books. Fiction or not they are entertaining and/or educational. They take up our time and can makes us weep and smile. They take up a lot of my life and without books I wouldn't know any of you which would be unforgivable.
Hey ghosting mir!
Chaos Walking. Book series.
READ IT.
*nods wholeheartedly and agreeingly at ded*
*has to eat dinner now*
*bbs*
#ChaseForBookNine
I too must go.
*goes*
Oh er buy then. Anyone left on or just me?
But... Chaos Walking. :)
I could rant about Chaos Walking aaaaaaaallll day but spoilers, y'know?
There are so many parts I can think of and I'm just like "aaaand the bit where"
There's just so much that's dealt with. And it's so-
Anyway.
But like Star said, the specific writing style is very much a kind of stream of consciousness, and it deals with very particular grammar, spelling, but it's pulled off in a way that, even though it takes some getting used to, it gives the story such a real-ness because of these specific quirks and rules. And- I don't know how much I can say without giving things awaaaayyyy. :P
I still talk and write with mannerisms and quirks that I picked up from that trilogy, though. :)
@Star: *hugs back*
... I think that anything following "due to reasons" would probably have difficulty being THAT good. *laughs* :P
But- :)
And- Yes. :):):):)
#ChaseForBook9
Oh good Taia is still on with me as well as ghosting mir.
BACK!
@Taia: I know what you mean about the writing style! It's like when something happens, his thoughts . . . they speed up and record things exactly as you would in the moment, and it kind of captures how it would flow, right there, and you just . . .
*not really making much sense*
I try and make my writing describe the moment in thoughts in those kind of moments, in a more limited way, but . . . :P Yeah.
#ChaseForBookNine
Hey Mithria! *hugs* Ghost, if you'd like. BUt hey, anyway. :)
@Tempest: Well, NOW you've heard of it. ANd you've heard positively of it, too. If I had to choose a series that I could read, ONLY, for the rest of my life - of the books that I have read previously - I would probably choose Chaos Walking.
Not that that's at all a dependable idea, since it's a stupid situation. Mostly because how would that even work? And also because there are many books in the world, and I have read an incredibly small fraction of those.
So, that's me pretty much just negating my own point.
But anyway.
If you're ever short of books- CHAOS WALKING. :)
Bye Anni! Bye Star! *hugs both*
@Tempest: :)
#ChaseForBook9
Thanks for the suggestion :-)
@Taia: Maybe it might be more better to read a longer series. More books to read, you know . . . ?
#ChaseForBookNine
Welcome back, Star! :)
@Star: *nods* All of the broken sentences to try to capture all of the racing thoughts you could find at that particular moment, which I always think is so apt for the setting, because it kind of reflects the representation of Noise... idk.
Like... You look at a section of representation of Noise and it's that same kind of whole rush of stuff, that's all at exactly the same point in time. And it's all trying to fit that all into that one moment, because it's all there but you can't say it all at the same time, kind of? We can't do that, y'know? idk. But... yeah.

@Star: Buttt I don't know many longer series? I think trilogies or stand-alones are mostly more standard. YES, there's SP, but I'm not DONE with SP yet, I'm still only up to Book 6, so I don't know... The content is different. SP is great, but I love how honest Chaos Walking is, I love the BAM-reality in the presumptions and actions and reactions, and viewpoints and all of the dealt-withs. I don't know if Chaos Walking is better - there's a lot that other things have that it doesn't, so much. I don't think it has so much humour? But, idk. They're different things.
idk. It's not a very good idea to use, really. Because in what situation would you be only allowed to choose to read one set of books for the rest of your life? (with emphasis on the 'choose'?)

@Taia: Oh my gosh. :O That was such a good description!
That's exactly it. :) :)
Yes. *nods*
They're so different, and they do different things and have different purposes.
I read them for different reasons.
Chaos Walking is much better at what it does well than SP is, but it's the same for SP.
They're not really compatiable.
For that reason, I don't have one favourite book series. I kind of have a little group, but it's not very certain where something stops being a favourite and becomes a second favourite, and things drift in and out of favour with age. :P
Anyway. SP and Chaos Walking (does that abbreviate to CW?) are both in it. :)

Hello! :)
Hey Mithria! :)
#ChaseForBookNine
And how can a person accurately predict how they'll react to something?
Because sometimes you can plan something through so much, and then you get to actually doing it, and you do all of the OTHER things anyway, just... in the moment?
Like... My Welsh C/A.
I could say to myself, "I'm going to say it, and I'm going to say it slowly and clearly. I'm going to breathe properly and not let myself go into auto-irrational-panic-response-mode. I'm not going to build mega-anxious-friction between my hands. I'm going to say it clearly and breathe and not block and it will be fine." And I could practice that and practice that and practice that.
But when I actually went into the C/A, and there's my Welsh teacher and the little recording device that blinks, and a huge table for only two people, who are sat in one corner of the room, hardly even using it, which is kind of sad, if you think about it.
ANd I do none of the above things.
ANd I leave the room still shaking and sweating and racing thoughts and auto-irrational-panic-response-mode, even though I feel FINE, and I have no reason to BE in that state, and somebody sees me waiting for next lesson, because I'm a minute early, and asks me concernedly if I'm OK because of the appearance of all of the above. And I AM okay, and the C/A went FINE, and there was no problem, and I feel cool. It's just a thing.
... I have no idea what I was saying. My analogy didn't fit that well, and went off track, I think. :P
But my point was that you can say this is how you'd react, but sometimes you don't know that, and it takes until that situation comes about that you find it. Kind of.
And, uh.
Yeah.

Hi Star! *hugs*
*sighs*
I'm finally done with practising for today, so I think I'm here properly now^^
@Taia: I understood you. :) :) :)
And it's like how I often cry when people tell me off or stuff. And I'm not upset, I'm just crying, and I hate it because people think I'm upset when I'm not, I'm just crying because I am.
