And Tom isn't even FINISHED it yet...! There's going to be some colour stuff happening, and some cool silver effects added and things, but even as it stands now, this is a cover that's going to pop out at you on the bookshelf. For Tom is awesome.
Speaking of paperbacks, we're going to start gradually removing the short stories from the reprints, with the aim of collecting everything (including the Tanith novella) into one big book in the spring of 2014. There'll be lots of brand new stories in there as well, covering the entire series. So will we see a short story starring Mr Bliss, back when he was alive? Will we see Val and pre-Remnant Tanith fighting side by side once again? Will we even catch a glimpse of Skulduggery and the Dead Men at war with Mevolent...?
To be honest I haven't a clue. I'm just making things up as I go along.

Wait, Derek, if you're changing the reprints, be sure to fix that page in Playing With Fire! I can't remember the exact number, somewhere between 160-190 (sorry, that's a lot of pages), but it's a scene where Skul and Vengeous are fighting when they go to the castle, and in the book it says "Skudluggery" instead of Skulduggery. It didn't get changed in the reprint, so... Yeah. If you can change that, this would be a good opportunity! :)

Gabriel, I'm hoping to see China again, too. Now that some time has passed since Death Bringer in-universe, it would be interesting to see Skul's (and Val's) reaction to meeting (or working with) real!China again.
Also, more Tanith - I'm really looking forward to that novella (plus any eventual extra short stories featuring Tanith wouldn't go amiss, although what I'd really love to see is a glimpse or two of "quiet time", the regular life of Val & Skul in-between massive world-saving events - not really expecting an entire story dedicated to regular life but even a few extra moments/references would be so awesome; well, one can dream, yes?).
Also, I wonder if we'll actually get Tanith on the Tanith novella cover. It's been a long while since there's been any official Tanith art whatsoever.
I really like China...she's just so cold and elegant. I hope she doesn't change... Like in her attitude. I hope she's still working with Skul and Val, but still ruthless in a fight.
I love China. She's such a wonderful character - all shades of grey (er, not fifty, perhaps) even after becoming one of the good guys.
Yeah. She's so independent. She can analyse any situation and have a perfect plan to solve it. And her humour makes me laugh. Wow. She's so cold hearted.
I keep wondering what she's been up to since Death Bringer - just hiding in her countryside place with her horses, licking her wounds and feeling sorry for herself, or has she been busy rebuilding her library, re-establishing her contact network and all that?
Also, with China's library gone and China all but disappeared, I'm assuming the reason for all that has become at least somewhat public knowledge, among Skul and Val's friends if not in magical circles at large.
Yeah.. I like reading the books because of China.. when I was reading Kingdom of the Wicked I keep expecting China to suddenly appear and kill those annoying teenagers.
Or just beat them up.
I'm really reading the books for Skul and Val, but I love almost all the other characters, even those with minor roles, too, and China's probably been my third favourite since the first book.
I can't really see China beat anyone up, though. It doesn't quite seem her style. Using the symbols or shooting them, that's more like her...

*wanders in sucking orange lollipop* I was wiping tears off my eyes in history. WE were watching this video about the Battle of the Sommes in WWI . . . I find war so incredibly sad. Sadder than cancer, which sounds really horrible, but war comes about because of the stupidity of humankind. So amny lives would be saved if people could just swallow their pride sometimes. :'(
And sad thing number two is that my dad took all these old books of ours to the tip by accident. We were gonna keep those books in the loft to give to our kids in years to come coz they hold sentimental value for us. Plus you should give books to charity, not flippin' chuck 'em out. If my Rainbow Magic books or my My Secret Unicorn books had been in the load, I would've been DEVASTATED. They weren't. My sister has keep my My Secret Unicorn books in her room for some reason I can't discern - she doesn't read them - and my Rainbow Magics are in my room, taking up over half a shelf on my bookcase and basically wasting space. :) My sister was crying coz she thought her Mog book had been thrown out, but then we found it. :)

I first read SP out the school library. They were some of those books I had in the part of my brain that stored books I should read when I had nothing else to read. I thought they looked cool, and when I finally got round to reading the blurb I though, "Well, this sounds like it has humour in it, so I'll try it." XD
At that time my top books were Percy Jackson and Artemis Fowl so I valued funniness pretty high on my Things That Make A Good Book List. I actually had a Things That Make A Good Book List once, in my head. It was four items long, in order of importance, and each item had an explaination attached. Um . . . I can't remember the order, but I'm sure Humour and Emotion were on there . . . And . . . No, I can't rememeber. XD Oh, Action. Although in my explaination of Action, I explained that Action meant general Stuff Happening, not just physical action. And . . . And . . . *can't remember Number Four*
