I know we have a few readers in Christchurch who read this blog, so I'm glad to be able to visit after missing out last time around. And I know most of you in Adelaide and Perth were CONVINCED I wasn't going to get anywhere near you (especially you guys in Perth) so, y'know... this tour's for you!

It's not normal to do that Halloween stuff, here.
We have another night during the year where people prank traditionally, but er... it's kind of out of fashion, and now it usually resuls in stuff like finding broken eggs in your postbox or so. So.. not ideal, either. ^^
(I like the idea of it. I like doing it. But I'm a horrible person and want to sit there very still in a scarecrow outfit holding a bowl of candy with a sign that says take some. at which point I jump and scare the kids going to take some.)
(Actually, playing living statue sounds like fun. ^^)

... I prefer Schnitzeljagd. ... dunno if you know Schnitzel, it's a food. And the game is pretty much... one person goes ahead marking their path with real arrows at each corner - and adding wrong ones. Then a whole group of people goes after them trying to catch up.
It seems more fun than knocking at strangers' doors. ^^
(well i'm 19 soo I find it fine as long as they actually do it instead of turning up with close to no clothes on and asking for things the point of trick or treat is to have a joke or a bit or something to work for your candy)
So it's sort of a paper chase with added trolling?

Dunno, you CAN play it with putting paper or yarn on bushes and such, too. But the arrows in chalk are easier - and you can have them check several to find the right one. Which buys you time. ^^

That sounds pretty fun, but knocking on strangers doors is great if you do it how my friends and I do it ;)
1) yes, we are teenagers, and adults often are very irritated with teenagers t-o-ting, but my friends all put a ton of effort into our costumes. Most of us make our costumes(well, put them together, we don't sew them or anything) and also,
2) we don't merely t-o-t, we go Halloween caroling. That's right, we take songs and re write the lyrics to relate to Halloween/t-o-ting, with full harmonies, and when we sing them instead of saying trick or treat. But they aren't so long they're obnoxious, just little bits of songs(unless people ask for an encore, which people have), and if it's late and people are out of candy, we don't get annoyed, we just go, "That's okay, we're just Halloween caroling! Have a nice night!"
3) we go around in awesome costumes with our friends singing and getting free candy

and adults love us, because teenagers t-o-ting often put in no effort and are just taking candy and are obnoxious, but we make it enjoyable and put in so much effort

Nah, you run away with like... fifteen minutes before they start chasing you. One arrow always really shows where you went. Then you add a couple others as you please. And if you have time to, you can lay wrong paths that are two or three arrows long before they end in nowhere. ^^
(I would not see the point in doing those types of games. They seem rather meaningless.)

(It is rare I run away, actually. Halloween, despite the fact I have never participated in it, is something I could understand. There would be fun in dressing up in a costume and you would get candy, which would also provide fun. A game consisting of following arrows which may or may not be correct would hold no appeal to me.)

I like my dedications to relate to something i have seen on here, such as someone being depressed, sad, lonely, feeling like there is no way out of the darkness etc. I then apply that to the theory of I can help someone here by putting it in words that I know how they feel and that it can be fixed. I do that because I have a dark mind and sometimes a little thing like that can make your day better. )

I would do more to try and keep you happy than I would an auntie or uncle that I haven't seen in years. I'm talking they have barged in or something you've been unconscious you wake up they are threatening family loved ones people you care about with a gun, you happen to see one find one, there's a safety one possibly now do you A shoot for the head where they'll most likely die in seconds, B the heart depending on aim longer, or C somewhere else giving them the chance to get a few rounds into the people being threatened where they weren't as considerate as you. And, our police somehow manages to deal with criminals without killing them, so... everybody wins.

I wouldn't take the chance on waiting an average of 6 minutes for police when they could kill them in that time and when the police come in they get agitated shoot back shoot hostages it gets messy.)

(I've dealt with a fractured arm for a week without going to hospital I think I could handle being shot, yes it would hurt but that doesn't mean you throw your gun away yes the recoil would make you loose aim but that's only for a second or two. you could blind shoot whilst in recoil and still hit the family you etc you don't know.)

If someone really wants to kill you, he won't give you time to defend yourself. He'll come in and shoot you, not wait pointing around with a gun giving you a chance to try anything from running to attacking. ... at least if he's not pretty stupid.
If they don't just kill you, you'll probably have the couple minutes till police comes, too. At least that's what I'll keep thinking. ^^

(It depends so much on your car if faster is comfy, though. ^^ ... my grandpa's mercedes stays quiet even if it's like 180 km/h. (160 is about your 100). And meeeh. Not the first time I stayed up too long. And I don't have to get up early tomorrow. ^^)
(Well 100 is illegal here but I was learning over taking and my teacher said put my foot down in 5th so I did and then he was like c'mon we aren't getting closer because they did the same thing so I properly shifted it and started going 100 before he was like geez this is ridiculous what speed are you doing we aren't catching at which point I coughed and was like ehmmm 100 )

... I thought that proportionally, the UK have plenty more roundabouts in the roads than the rest of the world do, so maybe it wouldn't be such a huge problem anyway?
And- national limit on dual carriageway or motorway is only 70 mph?

Hah. You could go your 100 here. See a car in your back mirror, tiny and far away. Set your indicator and be about to check over your shoulder - and the car is THERE. Passing you like you're standing. That's when you know you encountered a fast driving Porsche. That's also why looking over your shoulder will save your life.
Taia - you go faster because you CAN. There's not much that could make my countrymen and -women rebel, but try to put a speed limit on ALL of the autobahn, and you'll face some SERIOUS opposition. ;P ^^

the only reason ours is 70 is because the stopping speed from 70 with rain is 120 yards ? something like that but with a good car with ceramic breaks you can stop in that from 200 mph)
... you do realise cars get changed so you can't drive them as fast, outside of Germany? They can - and they will - go over 200 km/h here. Depending on the diver, traffic and weather, of course. ^^

Some speeds are just not sane to drive.
But 120 km/h, which is about 75 mph, is the normal travelling speed on the middle lane.

We have plenty car companies. Cause we invented the car. .. actually, two people invented it independently. Both German. Both from my federal state. Yay! ^^
Nah but really. VW, BMW, Opel (which you know as Vauxhall or something?), Porsche, Mercedes, Audi... we bought Mini and Bentley, too. Allll ours. ;P
... and yet, I mainly love my little Vespa. Italians might not make the best cars, but Vespas are lovely.

... course, every now and again, shit happens. We once had a summer so dry wind picked up a lot of earth from a too dry field and blew it on a highway. So dense no one could see a thing. I think like... sixty cars crashed into each other? Many in any case.

Ford invented mass producing the car. Not the worst thing that can happen to a product. Also, the guy who invented it was called Benz. His daughter was named Mercedes, and he named his cars after her. The second who invented it was called Daimler.
Fiat - Fehler in allen Teilen. Mistakes in all parts. ;P Italian cars have a name for being not reliable, dunno where it comes from, but they do.
... and, let them keep their cars. I love my little Vespa. *nods* Can't go faster than 50, cause I don't have a license for motorcycles. But. I drive her like 160 km per week and she's reliable as can be. Even if it's sub-zero.
Also we played Mario Kart and you would not BELIEVE the amount of sweating that occurred. O_O You had one person going "Shit. Shit. Shit." whilst another was going "FUCK FUCK SHIT SHIT FUCK" and like . . XD So much swearing. Omg. And then screaming. Omg. People screaming. And I was just like "uhhhh guys I live in a semi-detached house."
