LSODM is over 133,000 words right now and I promised my editor I'd have a reasonably finished first draft to him by the end of the week. That means no Twitter and no blogging, and very little internet presence at all. Even a half hour of writing a blog is a half hour of NOT writing the book, and I can't afford to do that right now. When the book is done, when it's finally done, business as usual will be resumed. Until then, this temporary silence continues.

I understand that you two have no interest in Mass Effect and neither do I expect you to. But if either of you have time I'd really appreciate it if you'd take a look at my story. Even if you only read the first part to see what it's like.
I have designed the story so I explain everything you need to know. You don't have to know any specialist terms because they're all explained and you can always ask if you don't know what something is. I DID write it for people who don't know anything about the game, after all.
Even if you pay no notice to the universe that it is set in - it is just a story at heart. So even if you read it just for the story and don't understand the universe then I'd still like to know what you think of it.
The only difference between it and a SP Fanfic is the universe. But I have explained the universe. I explain all the terms as soon as they come up in the story.
Rhydian - you said you looked Mass Effect up on youtube and you said it isn't the kind of thing you'd like to read about. But could you give it a chance? It is just a story. I'm just using the universe as a setting.
I'd just really appreciate some feedback on it and I'd like some characters to use in it. There's a post where you can post your OCs (admittedly with a few changes so it fits in with the universe), but yeah...

It's a nice idea, it's just... unpractical. How would we be able to create a series that people would want to watch - and set in the SP universe - when we can't have anything to even simulate it? To have it we'd need special effects and I don't think that any of us would be able to create any sort of magic in such a way that people will think "Oh, that's good". Yes you could have a picture of a fireball on a straw and move it across the screen but it'd be a bit... bad. I just don't think anyone is able to create anything worth the effort that people will like.
So no, I'm out. But as I said it's a nice idea.

@Brave - no. Your powers would have to be tech based unless you wanted to be a medic. You could choose between human, Quarian, Asari, Turian etc as your race. But as far as powers go, once you have chosen combat drone you have to pick two others from the same category.

On Mass Effect 3 earlier today I was defending a border against some bad guys (easiest way to describe them - I doubt a synthetic-organic hybrid controlled by the Reapers for use as ground forces would help you understand), and I found a weapon called a Blackstar that is Reaper-tech. And it can create black holes or something.
Or that's what it looked like.
To be honest, I just fired it at the most heavily armed enemy around and then BOOOOOOOM and everything was all explosion-y and black and all the bad guys died. It was awesome.
