Right then, I have here the details of the Ireland/UK tour. My publishers do like to keep me busy, the little scamps, but this tour isn't quite so arduous as they've been in the past- probably because they know I'll have just come back from the ANZ tour, and will be feeling pretty sorry for myself...

Well, it sounds very interesting
It does sound interesting, doesn't it
But I have so much else to write. Operation: Take Over Ireland Now (OTOIN), Elements, Hunger Games (I finally figured out what I'm doing with it), Lord Vile thing, and Mr. Bliss thing
You have a lot to write. I DON'T
You don't?
Nope. I have NOTHING to write! WHICH GIVES ME A HELL OF A LOT OF TIME TO WRITE! AND I WON'T EVEM WRITE
Oh my god, we're allowed to take pictures at the signing. I hope Derek lets me take a picture, that would be so awesome
You get to go to a signing... None in Melbourne
HOW CAN THERE BE NONE IIN MELBOURNE?!
Oh well, you get to listen to his marvelous stories. I probably won't because the STUPID SCHOOL volunteered to host the event and now they're suddenly saying "Oh, well it's only for the school now. No one else gets to come" HOW FREAKING SELFISH IS THAT?
Very selfish
But I won't get anything signed...
I hope I'm not to late, I haven't gone to Dymocks to say I'm going yet. I'm going next week...
Well at least he goes to your country. *scowls*
Sorry about that
At least you've got something signed by him
Yeah Val, at least you've got your books signed by him, and you got to throw a Skulduggery party, and you've got heaps of Skulduggery stuff
Well, I payed for those things. Not the signed books, but the other 18 I bought. That doesn't make me any closer to meeting him.
Val, I'll see him from a far of distance for a while. I'm not going to meet him
Still, at least his publishers don't hate your country.
You know, it's not the publishers. It's your bookshops that aren't ordering in the books
They aren't being published for America.
I hate being American.
You know, we just get the UK copies, so they aren't publsihed for us either, bookshops just order them in
No, different ones are published for Australia.
Which explains why I couldn't read the story at the end of TEOTW.
We just have the same covers has the hardbacks UK have. We don't get their paperback covers. We don't get hardbacks either
Oh, and think TEOTW's different, because of the create a character thing
But my point is, they're still published there. You can go out to a store, and buy them.
You can't do that here.
*comes in screaming*
Hi Star!
IT'S THE FIRST DAY OF THE HOLIDAYSSSSSS!!!!! YAY!!!!!
Good for you...
*jumps about waving hi to people*
Well, you're enthusiastic...
I KNOW! IT IS!
*is a happy malteaser*
It'll be school again before I know it, though . . . :(
It?
1st
My summer holidays started June 25
I like showing my hyper side on blogger:)
I dedicate this page to Kingdom of the Wicked. Only 3 more days until KINGDOM COMES
3 days???!!!!
Nix you lucky swine lol
*looks at Ivy* Hi. Damn you.
Nix? Damn you too.
Hi Em!
What? Why damn me?
Hi to you too, Star.
Nix, I have a question for you.
Is there any sort of ebooks or anything in Australia?
BECAUSE KINGDOM COMES TO AUSTRALIA FIRSTTTTTT! :)
Lucky you. Hope you have a good time reading it!
I think so...
Is there any websites I could get one from...?
While all of us above the equator will be waiting to see KOTW, you shall be chillaxing, reading every precise details and finding it hard not to come running to us all to blab lol
Oh and in my story, a werewolf fight is on the cards, maybe a few will happen. I'm still working out the kinks lol
Heya Star!
Nah, I don't find it hard to not talk about it. I'm weird
I wouldn't know Val, I don't use ebooks, I'm against them
Ask Eve, I think she uses them
I'm against them too, but if it means getting KOTW a month early, I will get one by all means.
Ah now Val that's cheating lol
But good idea ;)
*goes off to email Eve*
Here Nix, can I pick your brain for a minute?
What makes a good epic werewolf battle?
I'm against ebooks but they WOULD be so usuful for when I went on holiday . . . Last year when I went on holiday I took eleven books. I read them all and was stuck with nothing to read. We only have three small shelves for books in the campervan, and I'm not the only one to want to bring books. I just KNOW I'll run out of things to read this year and it would be so much easier if I had a kindle.
Star, I just put em in a bag or something if there isn't room
Epic werewolf battle? Evenly matched (like all good fights in my opinion) long, lots of anger, just beating one another, injuries, and don't confine it to one place. Have them move, even have a few mortals see it
Here, I'll write up a something that I'm going to use latter on
Okay, I can't write it up, but I hope you get what I'm trying to say
Yeah. Good fights are evenly matched. Poor Marigold, she never gets a good fight. Hmm. I'll have to make sure she does later on in the story.
Yeah no I get it
Hmmm?? I'm not sure how to make Drew and Deacon evenly matched.
Any tips??
I've always seen Deacon as the stronger one
AHA!
*has had a good idea*
Get Drew very angry, and he takes Deacon by surprise? That should give up enough time to injure him or something
Nix! You lied! Why are you on here?
That's because Deacon IS stronger.
Hi Heck!
Desperation makes people stronger, yes. *feels like I'm doing a lot of agreeing with people*
*eyelid twitches*
I'm not a liar. I'm not fully back either
AHAHA!!!!!
Nix you are a f**king genius!
Thank you Nix and Star, I love you people for input.
Uh, thanks Em!
Hmm... *mumbles* Hello everyone.
... Should I ask what you mumbled?
I wouldn't tell you even if you did ask.
Oh hi Helena!
Sorry a light bulb went off lol
I didn't input anythink! I was just agreezing!
Thankle yous anyways.
*starts chasing a malteaser*
Ping! S'ok, hello.
Would you tell me if I asked?
*asks* Helena, what did you mumble?
I mumbled... stuff. Mostly a worst version of "liar, liar, pants on fire".
Ah now why are you calling Nix a liar lol
Maybe he just missed us all and couldn't genuinely keep away
Okay, I don't have the pacience for any of your sh*t today. You hate me, I get it. Can you at leats be a little subtle about it?
Don't bug Nix, I have a feeling he isn't in the mood
No one hates you Nix.
Don't think that, ever.
And then he posts right before I do.
Nix, I don't hate you at all. I think you're awesome.
*looks taken aback* I don't hate you. Why would you think that? I was just telling the truth. I'm sorry if I'm annoying you.
The truth is I'm a liar?
He wasn't lying, he changed his mind.
I'm not taking sides here, just trying to help.
I didn't say that you were a liar, I said you lied about this particular subject. I mumbled that you were a liar, but never listen to my mumbles.
*blinks*
If I lied, I must be a liar
Not strictly true...
He's having a tough time at the moment.
This place is an escape, for him to feel like himself.
We should be encouraging that he has found a refuge in us.
Same as Val, I'm not taking sides, I'm just trying to smooth it out.
Anyway, I apologised.
Hehe, a bit rude but funny: http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?fbid=328901223864986&set=a.281632681925174.70232.281552221933220&type=1&theater
Is anyone on? Or is my computer stuffed?
Hm
Oh, so if a mass murderer apologises, everything's okay and he isn't punished?
Apologies are rarely effective, I think. Not on large things. And the small things hardly matter anyway, so WHAT IS THE POINT OF APOLOGIES???
There is no point.
*can't believe I only just realised that*
I'm going to start a war against apologies.
Thank you, Helena and Nix. You helped me see the light.
Right, lets calm down again and just enjoy the morning/evening.
We've all apologized, made our points and now we move on.
Agreed?
*sighs* Star, don't start a war against apologies, that's ridiculous. Just don't.
Agreed Em. Though Star, if you actually see the error of your ways, or wish no harm on the person you apologised to, it should count (not if you are psycho though, like killers). Like mine.
Boys and girls of every age, won't you like to see something strange,
Come with us and you will see, in this town of Halloween...
*laughs evilly* Nice Val.
I'm not against the people apologising. That would be ridiculous. I'm just against apologies. Let's see how long it lasts.
Now, yes, let us insignificant beings move on.
This is Halloween! This is Halloween! Pumpkins scream in the dead of night.
This is Halloween, everybody make a scene,
Trick or treat till the neighbours gonna die of fright...
Oh, how I love that movie... That was my huge obsession before SP
What is it Val?
...Did you just call all of us insignificant beings?
The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Best. Movie. Ever.
I'm insulted Star.
The Nightmare Before Christmas
Classic movie!!
We're insignificant in comparison to the universe, not Earth though.
I know every single word to that movie... I'm even wearing Nightmare Before Christmas pajamas at the moment.
Never got over that obsession...
I shall HAVE to see it!
A tall, stylish skeleton who wants to try a Halloween version of Christmas?
Heck yes you have to see it.
Well, we are. Insignificant beings. We live for a few years, struggle to make sense of the world, and then die again, tiny sparks in the huge fire of existance. Gazillions of other humans do the same, and as a whole we manage to make an impact on our planet. We find out a few scraps of knowledge about the world, and think we're ever so clever with our science. Then we die out, and the planet goes back to how it was, and all pur knowledge is forgotten, before another species comes along and struggles to make something of their existance.
We are insignificant. Nothing we do really matters in the grand scheme of things. We think our lives are important, but everyobe who is at all affected by our existance will be dead in a few years, swallowed up by history and forgotten.
I used to find it scary. Now I just accept it as a fact of life.
Well, I don't see things that way. Humans are pretty cool.
I mean, we're all cool.
... Just billions, die again?, and great motovational speech there Star
Sorry, I'm phisolophical today.
I think it's kinda calming to look at things that way. To step outside of your tiny world and attempt to look at the big picture - but the big picture stretches off into the distance, too big for us to see.
And although my life doesn't matter, I like to pretend it does. I'm human, after all.
I love it Star.
It's the way I've ALWAYS seen it.
Well, I'm gonna go now
Bye!
Bye Nix, have a lovely night!
We couldn't know everything there is to know. Our minds aren't advanced enough. So we are doomed to stumbled on blindly in our ignorance, because our ignorance is what's saving us. When Adam and Eve ate the fruit from the Tree of Knowledge, sin was brought into the world, and they lost the Garden of Eden. They lost their happiness with their ignorance. Some people think it's better to know the truth than to believe a lie, but if the lie keeps people happy and the truth destroys, then surely the lie is better? Humans weren't designed to understand the whole world. We shouldn't try to. We'd blow our minds.
Fours Nix!
*grins at Helena* Yay. Someone who agrees with me.
It's like Star how it's now very common to hear people say "I;m rather offended by that." As if that gives them certain rights; it's actually nothing more... it's simply a whine. It's no more than a whine. "I find that offensive," it has no meaning, it has no purpose, it has no reason to be respected as a phrase. "I am offended by that," well so f*cking what? You don't matter, you're insignificant. I can do whatever I want with my short life. Sorry if that was late, I was typing.
*'. Star, I don't believe that we shouldn't try find out about the universe. We're humans, we seek knowledge, it's what we do.
Okay, some people seem grouchy today.
Bye!
*grins* Bye Val!
Brb
Here for one comment
So, Helena, because you believe everyone is insignificant, you can treat everyone however you please?
Fours Ivy!
@"I am offended by that" - good point. I hate how the world has to be polite. You know those letter the school send out? Well at one point in English we were doing about how to write them and it just seems so pointless - you take the facts people need to know and smother them in politeness and formality, and then the parents who get the letter look between the lines past the politeness and formality so they can work out the facts. The whole proceedure just seems like so much wasted effort. Why not just screw the politeness and formality and tell people what the need to know?
That's not to say I don't use politeness. I have to or I'll never get anywhere. I just hate how people are forced to constantly code and decode in this way.
About how we struggle to determine the universe? Yes, we do coz we're human - but we'll never understand it all. We can try. We WILL try. But we never will, because we are prevented from a lot of that knowledge, I believe. For our own protection. Maybe one day those boundaries will be lifted, to test our capabilities of understanding. When that happens, we'll be destroyed. But I'n a Christian, and I don't believe God would do that to us.
He did before, I know. He tested us. We failed the test. We ate the fruit from the tree of knowledge. Hopefully God learnt from that and won't test our knowledge capabilities again.
Because if he does, we'll be destroyed.
You know in Fear? Little Pete reminds me of God, rather.
He meddled with the people, trying to make them better. He destroyed them. Humans are so, so fragile and he couldn't touch them because contact with Pete would destroy them.
Contact with God would destroy us. No human can look directly at God.
I'm not sure where I'm going with this anymore.
Nix, you can't do whatever you want with people but just give them the facts or whatever they need to know. Then, if it's true, it doesn't matter if it insults them. Also, Star, what about Joan of Ark?
Books help me understand so many things. I get so much of my knowledge of life from them. Whenever I do something exciting irl, like go caving, I think about what good writing material it is. A book is filled with the author's experiences of the world. When I read a book, it is the author telling me all about life and what they have experienced of it. When we were doing about Shakespeare, our English teacher said that although Shakespeare was writing about Athens and so on, he'd never been to all these places so although his books were set in Athens etc., we can find out about Elizabethan England from them because that's what he was basing all his writing on as it was all he ever knew. When we read mordern-day fiction books, it might be make-belief, but we can find out about reality from them because they're based on it, as that's all the author ever knew.
What about Joan of Ark?
I think I confuzzled myself . . .
Star, stop making me agree with you so much.
Well, Joan got info from God, and other people in history spoke to God, like Noah... etc. Were they all psychopaths?
I saw Nightmare Before Christmas a LONG time ago. Longlonglonglonglong
Did you like it Eve?
And Star, do you believe in evolution?
I was too young to really remember it, but I like it, it's cool
Awesome AND it's got a skeleton.
Yeah
Have you seen it?
Nope, but I REALLY want to.
No human can look directly on the face of God. That doesn't mean he can't speak to us. We just can't look directly AT him. Although I think somebody did, sometime, can't remember who he was or why he could, and there were all these angels around God with six wings each, two on their back, two on their ankles and two over their eyes so they didn't see God.
He can speak to us. Like in Fear, Pete could show Astrid things with his mind and it didn't destroy her.
And yes, I believe in evolution.
Hi Eve!
Yeah, I ought to watch it again. My cousin is kind of obsessed with it, and her 21st birthday was just recently, and she made different scenes about Nightmare Before Christmas, and there were cupcakes with the skeleton's face on them, and she had a soft - was his name Jack Skellington or is that something else -toy with his skeleton dog and it really got me back into the Nightmare fever
Awwww Helena, how come Star gets to call you Heck??
I haven't seen NBC.
You know what? Nightmare is is the most terrifying word ever for me.
Hellooooooo?
Oh, dammit, Eve commented just as I said that.
Yes I did :D
YOU DIDDDD.
I randomly started talking about bananas yesterday at rockclimbing. I think Emily thought I was crazy but Emily's crazy anyway so she can't speak. :)
Continuing what I was saying earlier, there's nothing scarier than your own nightmare. Even as I'm saying this, the idea of a nightmare is becoming seriously attractive. Me wants a nightmare now, for some reason.
B a n a n a s
I could say a long, philosophical speech about nightmares but I think I'm philosised out.
*gasps, look frantically down the beach and remembers . . . Something*
*hides behind leaf, trembling in fear*
*hopes Eve doesn't find me*
It wasn't me! I didn't do it! It wasn't my fault!
It was them! It was the pirates! Please don't hurt me! I didn't do it!
*narrows eyes* What. Did. You. Do.
I didn't do anythink! It was the pirates! The pirates were attacking and they stole your Banana Statue!
. . . Ask Rim if you don't believe me!
And we did TRY to stop them, but . . .
Csgd.
Wow, I feel different. Maybe it's cause I haven't been here for a while or maybe it's cause I'm spending most of my free time writing.
Or, maybe it's cause my friend's making me feel like myself which, in her opinion, is me acting... I guess you could call it immature. I can be very immature for my age sometimes. It makes my friend so annoyed but its so funny! I say something weird or random and she calls me crazy, but I just laugh which makes her freaked out cause my laugh can be very freaky sometimes. :P
So, is anyone here? Or did I just write that to myself?
Oh yeah, and when she tells me my laugh is freaky, it makes me laugh even more!
*looks at last comment*
That was about 50 minutes ago... You guys still here?
I just got here
Hiya Nix!
How've you been? Life going okay for you?
Eh, not really
How're you?
I'm good. :)
Working on my writing, but gotten a little stuck at the part I'm at, so I started writing a different part and kept going from there. I might have to change the beginning a bit now though.
I'm just moving to the better parts of the story. :P I'm still going to go back though. Probably need to change something in the part I'm stuck on.
Hey, so did you finish Artemis Fowl 8 yet?
Hmm...
I'm writing something none of you shall see unless it's published
Oh yeah, finished it
That sounds intriguing. I hope it gets published then. :)
Sorry Nix. Gotta go now. Bye!
Bye Lav!
Nix, is your given name Isaac?
No...
Hm...
Why? Why do you even think it's Isaac?
Winners of the competition. Isaac's from Melbourne.
Oh. No, everyone would have know if I won
Yeah, I understand that.
Gotta go
Bye!
