Val: not that that's a bad thing! But I mean feeding with someone and sitting on their bed is different!

*he had to get a new job recently due to the wings and horns and tail, now he works in the sucu/incu realm*

*sits on the bed beside her, still above the covers*

Val: *lays down, staying on top of the covers*

Val: *hums quietly in hopes of helping her fall asleep*

Suki; *eyes droop*
Wolf: y-you know, singing. T-telling my terrible jokes-s.
*turns to look at Chris, work bag slung on his shoulder*
W-Why the interrogation-n?
Val: *keeps humming*
[Raeza sighs]
[She'll listen to the Sanctuary people talk, just for a bit, so they can feel better about themselves.]
[Then she'll leave via the portal back to the library.]
[She'll invite Silente to come with her]
[It's just a matter of making sure the Sanctuary agents don't see]
['cuz if they do, they can use the portal too, and she doesn't want to have to deal with that]
Sil: *eyes Raeza, tightening her grip on the bark at her back*
*she doesn't trust these people to not touch her treehouse*
*but at the same time she's intrigued*
*for one Raeza doesn't seem to have a heartbeat or blood and that is interesting*
*as well as that these people intend to take over all the sanctuaries..*
[Jon glances back at Eco quickly, realising he's standing in front of him. He coughs awkwardly and moves to stand beside him instead]
I think I'm going to leave the talking to the other two for a bit.
Economical: W-what do you hope to to accomplish?
Raeza: I want to make this world a better place.
Savvy: That's rather vague. How is kicking people out of their homes going to do that?
Raeza: [Sighs] George was put in charge of managing the site and he decided the people weren't being nice enough about the fact that we'd taken over parts of the space. Instead of arranging a compromise, he exacerbated the situation by kicking people out entirely. I returned early from my time off so that I could try to fix things with the people here. You're not Bloglandians, or at least you don't own any of the tree houses, so it's really none of your business. It's between us and them.
Sil: She has a point, it is between us and them.
*is unclear as to who she actually means by "us" but that doesn't really matter*
I'm sure we've got it covered.
[Jon has to hold himself back from doing something stupid. He may not know the people that live here, but he can't stop the sudden protective streak thats surging through him. Call him sentimental, but he sticks up for the little guy, and the people with the forcefield sure don't feel like the little guy here]
[Economical senses Jon's agitation and gives him a little pat on the arm] [It'll be ok]
Savvy: Look, it's not every day that a group of powerful mages shows up with a force field. We just want to know what's up.
Raeza: It's hard for you, isn't it, not calling the shots.
Savvy: Excuse me?
Raeza: How is it that you can justify parachuting into a private conversation? If we parachuted into the middle of a Sanctuary meeting, we'd be detained for questioning at the very least. Possibly even put in the gaol for a bit. Either way, we wouldn't be allowed to go around interrogating people.
Sil: Well, you'd be put in a goal. If I go anywhere near a sanctuary I tend to find myself surrounded by a squad of cleavers fighting for my life.
*shrugs*
[Jon huffs a little and links arms with Eco, muttering to him] I don't like her. She seems... too much.
Sil: *looks at Jon*
*raises an eyebrow at what he said*
So parachuting from a plane isn't too much but defending herself and her privacy is?
Raeza: I died once. It didn't work out. I imagine they've got a file on me, and they'd realize that containment would be a more effective way of dealing with me.
Eco: [Pats Jon's arm again] T-too much of what?
[His eyes widen and he glances over at Sil] Uh... you heard that, then. Right. Sorry. That wasn't very diplomatic of me, huh?
[too Eco, he just shrugs and tries to be a little quieter] too... passionate. It's intimidating.
Sil: I've died loads of times but I mean I also escape from a cell that the grand Mage of one of the American sanctuaries made for me soooooo..
*shrugs*
*looks at the sanctuary operatives, smirking at Jon because of course she heard that, she's a vampire*
Look, we don't want any trouble but this place isn't safe for people like you. It might seem like a barren place but quite a few of the people round here are very twitchy around police type people and when they get twitchy they get stabby. Honestly it's in your best interests to leave.
[Jon, of course, does not know Sil is a vampire. He also doesn't know her name, but he's becoming increasingly intrigued by her] If I may ask, why do you feel like these people will get along better around here than us?
Sil: why? Because we have for years and because half the people here don't like those who associate with the sanctuaries.
[Eco finds Raeza intimidating as well, but then again he finds plenty of people intimidating and that's never stopped him from getting things done before.]
[He gives Savvy a look]
[Savvy projects thoughts into Eco's and Jon's minds] I can sense how they feel about the Sanctuary. I think we have our answer, they are a threat.
Economical: V-very well. It s-seems there is nothing else to to be accomplished here. Would you m-mind lowering the shields so we can w-walk out? [Parachuting back up into the plane would probably not work]
Raeza: The shields have to be left up. Have you no way of going over them?
Sil: I could carry you out one by one if you want.
*grins*
It's fun.
[Jon raises an eyebrow] You could carry us out? What exactly is your discipline? or... do you not have one? I get the feeling you're a lot older than you look...
Sil: My discipline? Oh, technically I haven't surged yet. Actually technically I never will. I'm a vampire.
[Jon's eyes widen and he takes a step forward] A vampire? I'd definitely be up for being carried over, if I could talk to you a bit more.
Sil: *tilts her head*
*thats probably the first time she's ever gotten a positive reaction to "I'm a vampire"*
Talk to me?
[Economical already thought Sil was kind of creepy] [Upon learning she's a vampire, he starts to say he is absolutely not cool with being carried] [but then he stops] [he reminds himself he said he'd be brave]
It's just, I've never actually met a vampire. I've talk to a few via email and letters, even text, but... Well, you can only have so many questions answered through writing. Sorry if that seems weird or, uh, even insulting, it's just... Well, it's hard to explain.
Sil: Right..
*thats confusing*
*looks at Eco*
If you don't want to be carries over I'm sure Raeza might be able to work something out?
*looks at Raeza*
[even through his excitement, he still notices Eco's discomfort. He shoots him a reassuring smile over his shoulder] You'll be okay, Eco. I've got your back.
[He turns back to Sil] If I may ask, what's your name? I'm looking into all the different ways Magic manifests itself, and I've found that quite often the more dangerous it's rumoured to be, the cooler the origins.
Sil: *raises an eyebrow*
Sorry, but I'm not going to give a sanctuary operative who thinks they have authority here my name. Look through your files when you're back, you'll find it eventually I'm sure.
[Jon shrugs] fair enough. I probably wouldn't trust me either. I still have some questions, though, if you're willing to answer them.
Sil: I could answer some. It depends what you ask.
[he pulls a small notebook out of his back pocket, flicking through it quickly and handing it over to Sil once it lands on the right page] would we ba able to go somewhere else to talk? I don't really want to bore everyone else with these questions...
Sil: Mmm..
*sighs*
We can go inside the treehouse. I'm not going any further.
[he grins, turning back to Eco and Savvy quickly. He pulls Eco into a reassuring hug and talks to them both over Eco's shoulder] I'll be back in a bit, I promise. I just can;t pass up this opportunity.
[He moves away again, towards Sil.] Lead the way.

*climbs up into her treehouse*

Eco: N-no thanks. I will w-wait here for Jon to come back.
[Savvy thinks maybe she'd prefer the other way, but she's also not going to leave her team members behind, so she shrugs]

[Jonathan tucks his hands in his pockets as he follows Sil behind the treehouse] So how long have you been a vampire?

[he whistles] you wear it well. What cream to you use? [he grins at her and flops down, trying to conceal how excited he is]
*rolls her eyes, drumming her nails on the chair to distract from his heartbeat*
Vampirism is certainly good at conserving a youthful appearance.
I'd imagine it gets annoying, having people constantly thinking your younger than you are. At times it could be useful, but... people talking down to you would sure get old.
[he sits forward, steepling his fingers and raising an eyebrow] so how did you deal with it? If, uh, that isn't too personal? I'm assuming you didn't want to become a vampire, but...
*smiles in a warm and friendly manner*
*and refuses to let herself flinch*
How did I deal with it. Hmmm.. Well, considering my family background and the events that occurred just after I was turned.. Not well. At all.
[he studies her for a moment before deciding to change the subject] A few of the vampires I've corresponded with in the past have used various serums to stop their, uh, transformation. Do you use anything like that, or have you found another way of dealing with it?
[he's itching to grab his notebook out again, but he'll leave it for now. It may not be the best time...]
Sil: Oh, yeah I use a serum too. Granted my is an amended version to help with allergies, but yes I use a serum too.
*stands up*
You wouldn't mind if I get myself a drink would you? Do you want anything?
[he shrugs, leaning back in thought] I'm fine, thanks.
How do you deal with the whole... blood thing? [he coughs, looking away from her] Sorry. You, uh, don't have to answer that. The other vampires I've talked to found it a touchy subject.
Sil: why would they find it touchy? It's only like asking a vegetarian how they deal without meat.
*goes to the kitchen, grabbing one of her opaque cups and filling it up with blood from a blood pouch*
*walks back in, sitting down again*
This is how I deal with it. Those idiots in their ivory towers take blood from people who want to be turned or from rodents running rampant in their home. I find that blood bags are more preferable.
*takes a sip from her cup, licking her lips*
[he chuckles, shrugging] I talk to Vampires who try to go vegetarian. I guess they've done some stuff they're not proud of or something.
Okay, so what abilities do you have? I'm assuming all the usual ones, but have you got anything cool up your sleeve that you've worked out how to do?
Sil: *grins at this question - having not surged she's not limited to any branch of magic*
*and she learns quick*
*flares her sigils so they're visible, glowing blue cuts etched into her skin all over her body*
There's these, for one.
[he hums, tilting his head and nodding] nice. painful to do?
Sil: As painful as any other cuts.
*lets the sigils fade away again*
*sips her drink again*
I haven't surged, because of this I can switch between many disciplines.
How many have you look into so far?
[he drums his fingers on the seat, itching to write.]
Sil: hmm.. I'm not sure. I don't really keep count honestly.
*shrugs*
Okay, that's fair. Had any favourites so far?
Sil: Sigils definitely. It's the one I'm probably best at.
[he pulls his legs up underneath him in the seat, studying her face for a second] okay, the real question
[he clears his throat and levels her with a serious look] Star Wars or Star Trek?
Sil: *bursts out laughing*
*shakes her head, putting her cup down*
Hmm, good question.
[he raises an eyebrow] So? Do I get an answer or am I going to have to move on to the less fun questions?
Sil: in afraid I can't help you there, I haven't seen either.
[his eyes widen and he leans back, offended] oh, this will not do. I can't prove my theory if you haven't seen them! You're calling me as soon as you've seen them so I can write a world famous paper about the movie choices of vampires.
Sil: right. Sure, I'll do that if and when I watch both those movies.
You are preventing breakthrough scientific research. [he shakes his head, mock disappointed] truly, it is a sad day.
Sil: sure. Very sad.
*leans back, drinking from her cup again*
[he smiles, shrugging] okay, I guess we'll go back to some other questions. How did you find this place? I kinda wish I knew it existed a few years ago...
Sil: I've been loads of places in my running. I found blogland like everyone else, I needed a sanctuary, a place I could be safe and then I just.. Stumbled into the endless forest and found the clearing.
It's nice here. You chose a good place to build your home.
[he glances around the room quickly] Is everyone here fine with you? I'm not trying to be offensive or anything, but it's hard to find a group of non-judgemental people. You're lucky if you have.
Sil: Mmm
*leans back, thinking carefully about that*
They.. Yeah. They're pretty damn accepting. I've screwed up a lot of times and it's always blown over in the end. There's been a good few fights but no one judges me for being a vampire, or for being a bit twisted sometimes. It's nice.
Is it... hard? Being a vampire? From what I understand, you can hear, or smell, peoples blood? I can't imagine it'd be easy to deal with that all the time.
Sil: *looks at Jon*
You get more used to it over time. The more you're around people the easier it gets. The heartbeats eventually fade into background noise and you notice then less, the same with the smell of blood inside a body. But when you're hungry.. That's when it's a struggle.
*shrugs*
[he nods, moving to stand up] I should probably head back to the others now, I have a feeling they'll be waiting around for me. But would I be able to talk to you again, at some pint in the future?
Sil: Sure, if you can find me
[he shrugs, moving to the door] I'll manage, I'm sure. Thanks.
Sil: don't worry about it. Bye.
*downs the rest of her cup of blood, humming happily*

Annabelle: *dreaming*
*is in a dark version of the forest, creeping silently in her wolf form, hair on end*
*shifts to a human, crouched down and listening carefully*
*maybe she lost them..*
*is panting quietly, and because of this she doesn't hear the sound creeping up behind her*
*she doesn't hear the material shifting as a knife flashes against her forearm and she cries out*
*and pain wrenches her free of her dream*
*screams loudly and sits bolt upright, panting heavily, eyes wild and scared, covered in sweat*
*calms down, putting her head in her hands, breathing - it was only a dream.. Only a dream..*
Belle: *waddles up beside her mother, looking up from the floor*
Maa! Okah?
Annabelle: Mummy is okay sweetie.. It's okay..
*smiles down at the small girl, reaching down to pick her up*
*and freezing upon seeing the bleeding gash on her arm*
W-what..?
*jumps out of the bed, looking around for what cut her*
Belle: Maa?
*looks confused and scared, bottom lip wobbling*
Annabelle: *picks her up quickly with her good arm, backing away from the bed*
It's okay, don't worry..
*theres nothing there that could have hurt her*
Annabelle: *curses herself mentally for not having any first aid materials on hand*
Come on, let's go visit C-Cole.. He'll fix it all up..
*walks to the kids room*
*her arm is throbbing in pain, the cut is quite shallow but it still hurts*
Hey little man, time to wake up Copper, we're going on an adventure.
*gently shakes the little copper wolf until he wakes*
Copper: *blinks sleepily, wobbling to his feet*
*he's grown quite a bit in his wolf form, and he trots along beside his mother as they make their way to Cole's house*
Annabelle: *arrives and knocks on the door lightly, still holding Belle*
Cole: *is sleeping with eira*

Mark: *opens the door, bleary eyed*
Annabelle: *flinches back slightly, holding belle tighter, moving in front of Copper*
*speaks quietly*

Copper: *yips more, trying to get Cole's attention*

*crouches down, tail up, ears back slightly, inviting him to play*
Cole: somewhere *rifles through the cupboards and pulls out his first aid kit*

*sits heavily, looking exhausted*

Copper: *whines sadly, trotting to the corner, tail between his legs*

Annabelle: *shows him her arm, grimacing because there's quite a bit of blood*
I should clean it first probably, make sure there's no germs..

*looks down at her arm, clearly bleeding and cut to herself*
*but to other people there is no outward sign of injury*
Cole please I'm tired and I'm not in the mood for joking around, please just fix it..
Cole: okay, what is this about? *puts down the bandage*
Annabelle: What do you mean? Cole for CHRISTS sake give me the bandage and I'll do it myself if you're really that wimpy!
*walks to the sink, dampening a cloth and dabbing the cut, hissing at the pain*
*makes sure the cut is clean and runs water through the cloth till its clean*

Cole: there is no cut Anna.. Why are you here?
Annabelle: Cole are you blind?? I know it's only shallow but it's still bad enough to need help!
Cole: I can't see anything !

*points at it*

Annabelle: *growls*
I'm here because I was attacked in my own home while I slept and was hoping for some aid.
*snatches the bandages from him*

*tries to unroll then but is struggling*

Annabelle: are you serious? You want me to take the kids back to the place I was attacked??
*finally unrolls the bandages*
*uses her teeth and spare hand to wrap it around her wound carefully*

Annabelle: *walks out, anger simmering slightly under the surface*

Annabelle: *reaches home, cautiously entering*
*sniffs gently but she can't find any new scents*
Cole: *ones he's asleep he goes back to bed*
Annabelle: *time skip a bit to when she's sure no one is in the house*
*and no one ever was*
*has spent the last few hours pacing, confused*
*finally, just as the sun is rising, knocks on Cole's door again*
Cole: *gets up and opens the door*
Annabelle: The house is safe.. I-I think..
*still looks confused*
I'm not really sure. There's no scent trail but.. The cut..
*looks at him, eyes begging*
Cole.. Can we stay here? Just for a few nights?
Cole: only for a few, no more
Annabelle: *nods*
Thank you.. I'm sure Copper will be thrilled to have some guys to play with for once.
*smiles at him apologetically and thankfully*
Cole: yes, it'll be nice
You can stay in the nursery with them
Annabelle: Thank you.
*moves inside awkwardly*
Um.. Where would that be?
Cole: upstairs, first door to the left
Annabelle: thanks.
*follows his directions and walks into the nursery*
*smiles at the sight of her little pup curled up in the corner like usual*
*yawns loudly, she's been up all night, and sits beside him, eyes drooped*
It's okay. You're safe here.
Cole: *foes back to bed for a little bit*
*time skip?*
*okay*
Annabelle: *is asleep again*
Copper: *scrabbles at the nursery door*
Cole: *he and eira are up*
*opens the nursery door*
