On August 26th, just twelve short days away, we will be kicking off the tour with a NEW, special event in Waterstones in Hampstead. Apart from the fact that you'll be able to snag a copy of Demon Road a day ahead of its release (you'll even be able to snag one of the limited Platinum editions), and for a full TWO POUNDS off, we'll also have goodies to give out on the night, I'll be yammering on about writing or some such nonsense, and then I'll be signing whatever you want me to sign.

This is IMPORTANT, and it applies to all of the signings and events — I will sign WHATEVER you bring. I don't care what the book is (so long as I've, y'know, actually written it) and I don't care how many are in your bag. If someone, at whatever signing you turn up to, tells you I'm only going to sign books you buy in their store, let me know and I'll sort it out. That rarely happens anymore, but some staff members are over-eager. Obviously time is sometimes an issue, so if the queue is long as I have to jet off to the next signing, we'll impose some limitations — but that's always a last resort.

Why do people wish for hope? Why do some wish for happiness, but can never quite reach it? (Be warned, I might repeat myself... Yeah, this is a speech thingy.)
For those who are depressed, for those who are trapped in despair and feel like there's no way out but death, let me tell you something.
If you're still alive right now, there must be some tiny voice in your head, telling you to keep living. Is that true? If you feel /anything/ like that, that's hope. That tiny voice, so small compared to the huge dark cloud hanging above you, weighing you down, is telling you to keep going. Why? When you feel like giving in to the darkness, when you're at the end of your rope, why is that voice persisting to keep you alive?
It knows that you can /survive/ it. It knows your struggles, it knows you're weak, but hope doesn't give up. That hope is where your strength comes from.
Anyone know the story of Pandora's Box? Greek mythology? When she opened the box, so many bad things came out. Diseases, greed, hunger, and so many other negative feelings and illnesses. I often wondered why hope was left in the box. Why was it all the way at the bottom? It wasn't until reading Percy Jackson that I had a better idea of what the meaning was behind it.
Unlike all the negative things that came out and caused suffering to mortals, hope was kept in the box because we still need it. Illnesses, suffering, hunger, pain; those things are temporary. Yes, it might cause death, but that's where hope comes in. That tiny, flickering light inside all of us is helping us make it though the days when we can't see what the future will bring. It doesn't give up on us, but we have to help it by moving forward. If we stay stuck in shadows, it gets harder to see hope's light.
Getting back on the subject of Pandora's Box, I had a thought about what it meant for hope to be at the bottom. It was stuck under all those negative energies, how could it have survived?
I wondered, what if Pandora's Box was like our bodies? We have all this dark energy inside us, but when we can come to open up, it releases the darkness until only hope is left. And with all that empty space, hope can have room to grow.
This probably won't mean much to those who are really trapped in despair, so let me veer from the topic of hope and mythology to say this.
Everyone, no matter how badly we mess up or how much we feel worthless, has value. All life is important. But we need to learn this ourselves. Sure, it can be said, but to really understand what it means, we have to feel it in ourselves how precious life is. Including our own.
Yes, we go through struggles, some more than others, but these struggles are what life is about. And the more we can face these problems in our lives, the stronger we become. Where do you think that saying came from? What doesn't kill you, DOES make you stronger.
I'm also going through some tough stuff right now. There were times I even gave up on myself. But I knew I had to keep going. I may not be living, but at least I'm still getting by, right? For people who are depressed, the least you can do is SURVIVE. You don't have to pretend like you're living until you're able to feel like you can again. And trust me, if you can get through these dark days, you'll be able to feel alive again. But that's only if you can survive what you're going through. Hope knows you can, that's why you're still alive right now. Listen to that tiny voice. Keep that small flame burning. It may be small, but it's all you need. You just have to do the rest.
You can change or edit it to fit what you need, if you want to use this one. But the same goes for the other one. :)

Apparently it's quite a hard class to do Gold with but I don't think so. I think it's one of the easiest XD I was just reappearing behind Geth Rocket Troopers and stabbing them in the back. Because I had tactical cloak evolved for duration and the ability to allow me to use 2 powers before I decloak, I could get 2 shadow strikes in a row with 40% damage increase.
@Draggie But... but what about promoting your level 20s ASAP?

Bast well, bast is not as much a mage that can use earth magic as he is earth magic itself.
he can only borrow the experience someone has with earth because it is rightfully his to own.
Bast is blind and can only see with vibrations may they be soundwaves or any other kind of vibration.
He can sense magic by the aura it gives off.
And no he can't take magic from other elements thiiiiis would be granted to the other Elements like lil paw here.

There are a couple of manifestations like bast tasked to protect the earth, only two of em are not slumbering. Bast and Gargoyle(not yet fully developed)
Paw has 2 fellow fire elements who keep fighting one who wants to destroy and one who wants to defend. they have the same powerlevel so neither actually get somewhere.
Water has Brine one of my oc's and 2 other known ones who manifested into grand sea creatures, Eg Kraken and A great white sperm whale.
air: air elements don't usually "live" as they can't keep a hold of themselves, storms and other windey business tends to be caused by them throwing a fit at their incapability of taking proper form.

Lavender: *winces when she hears Scarlet's tone as they're both in range for her animal like hearing*
Scarlet: *crosses her own arms and stands tall to look intimidating, though it would be the fiery look in her eyes that makes most people nervous* Don't play the idiot. I /knew/ there was something about you since we met at the ball. Why are you following us? What. Did. You. Do?
Erica: *laughs musically*

Scarlet: /Pairs/?? She /may/ be my friend, but /I/ have no other feelings for her. Which brings the question: what made me act so out of character the last few days? And why does the 'feeling' suddenly go away right after we kissed? *really wants Erica to admit to messing with their feelings, because she hates those types of people who get away with things by acting innocent*
Erica: Maybe you had a hormonal build up. Like Spock with his mating season thing.
Scarlet: *blinks in surprise and relaxes her stance for a moment; got kinda put out at the Spock thing* *snaps out of it and returns to glaring at Erica, not as mad though* As if. Look, if you don't want to admit it, fine, but I /know/ you did something, and I really don't appreciate it. I'll let you off this time, but /if/ there's a next time, you won't be so lucky. Just be glad you don't have any burns right now. *turns around and starts walking away, mentally berating herself for letting Erica go*
Erica: *laughs*
You can hardly blame me for your emotions towards your partner!
Scarlet: *shouts over her shoulder, still walking away* We're not /that/ kind of partner! *mutters under her breath* Besides, I have no such feelings for her anyway. Ugh. *walks back to where Lavender was waiting, who looks up as she approaches* C'mon, let's go. We're heading home.
Lavender: *can feel a flurry of negative emotions radiating off her, and follows quietly, not wanting to trigger anything*

star: hey ^_^ umm yeah pretty sure. I can learn physics and maths. I can't really learn how to be appealing and creative with my art ^_^
star: plus i always loved physics, it's just that i am nothing special when it comes to understanding it...or hey, maybe i am wrong, maybe there's a field in physics at which i would do outstandingly ^_^
I've noticed that i understood particle physics right off the bat so...
(I am good at looking at a crime scene and using evidence to build up a profile)
