On August 26th, just twelve short days away, we will be kicking off the tour with a NEW, special event in Waterstones in Hampstead. Apart from the fact that you'll be able to snag a copy of Demon Road a day ahead of its release (you'll even be able to snag one of the limited Platinum editions), and for a full TWO POUNDS off, we'll also have goodies to give out on the night, I'll be yammering on about writing or some such nonsense, and then I'll be signing whatever you want me to sign.

This is IMPORTANT, and it applies to all of the signings and events — I will sign WHATEVER you bring. I don't care what the book is (so long as I've, y'know, actually written it) and I don't care how many are in your bag. If someone, at whatever signing you turn up to, tells you I'm only going to sign books you buy in their store, let me know and I'll sort it out. That rarely happens anymore, but some staff members are over-eager. Obviously time is sometimes an issue, so if the queue is long as I have to jet off to the next signing, we'll impose some limitations — but that's always a last resort.

Well, for example, my parents buy me cards that already have 'happy birthday' on it, but they add the 'I love you's(including another happy birthday) and a small personal message for me.
You could say something like how much you appreciate her or how even if you feel like you sometimes make her stressed, you're sorry and you're grateful for her taking care of you for so long
But these are examples. /you/ need to add the personal touch, because I have no idea who she's like or what your relationship is like as mother-son.

Like, I know it'd be more of a surprise getting a random gift out of nowhere, but because of that, people might be less likely to do it.
I'd buy people gifts if I had the money to get them something. Regardless of if it's their birthday or not. Like my friend. Her earphones broke, so I'm planning to buy her new ones as a gift because I want to; not because of a special occasion. Yet it would feel strange to do that all of a sudden, so I think that if she doesn't get one by Christmas, that would be my present for her. Unless I have a reason to go shopping earlier than that.
And Aquila: we /are/ getting older. :P Those who joined earlier on I mean. Not so many newer young ones are around, but Dugglyn and one called Seirsha were the youngest, I believe. 13? Around that age.

I have 13 cousins, and all speak German. Some live in Austria now, but that's as foreign as it gets, within my closer family.
My dad has a cousin in the US, and I think one of my married-into-the-family aunts has a sibling married to a Chinese, but... I don't really know those people.
So yeah... all my family speaks German. ^^
Well, half my family lives in the U.S., the other half lives in Japan. My dad's Japanese, so it's his half. My mom's side is American. (Except she's also half Japanese and was actually adopted but her adoptive mom was Japanese too so you couldn't tell)

Mine's just German. All over. Down several generations.
My grandma has a family tree around that goes like... more than ten generations back. And every single one of my anchestors on there is German as well. XD
Doesn't mean we're not complicated at all, though. I have an aunt that used to be an uncle, an aunt that used to be married to my uncle and now has a girlfriend, and a family within my family where all first names start with J. We call them the Js. ^^
Oh, and the reason I can't understand them is cause my dad never spoke to me in Japanese when I was growing up, so I wish he had, but can't do anything about it now.

I'm such an arsehole when I play Mass Effect 3 MP I swear XD
There's a class called the Geth Juggernaut and it's basically like a 10ft tall giant robot. Average characters have, y'know averagely, about 950 shields. The Geth Juggernaut has like 4500. It's so SLOW. Like it's really really slow. It can't run. It has three abilities there's siege pulse which is like firing a pulse of energy, then hex shield which is like a large shield you can create to stop things like Atlas (mech) missiles and Banshee biotics and everything. Then it has Geth Turret which is a little drone thing. But if you hold down the heavy melee button it drains energy from enemies to restore its shields and the enemy turns to blue goo.
BUT
They're so annoying.
Because half of the people who play Mass Effect CAN'T play them properly.
So I annoy them all. :)

My problem is the application process like why do you need 9 work experience placements and 300 volunteering activities and why are there so many universities and why are they all different and what is with all of the having responsibilities?? I'm not old enough to buy alcohol or medicines and yet I am old enough to take responsibility for my future and I don't like it :P

As far as I know, work experience as well as volunteering stuff isn't obligatory but just likely to raise your chances.
For example, I had work experience but no volunteering stuff I had proof of, got into uni just fine. Both my friends did have neither, and they are there, too.
If you check how they decide on admission, you should see how much weight those things actually hold for the uni you're looking at. Sometimes it only matters if you and someone else are competing for the last free place, for example.

It's a female-ninja thing XD She's my second-favourite multiplayer class. She can turn invisible for one power, turn invisible, reappear behind someone and slash them in the back for her second then cause an electric shockwave for her third. :)
She's basically the Infiltrator (my favourite class) version of the N7 Slayer which is a vanguard. So basically tech rather than biotic. :)
