In the second transformers film there was like a panther robot with a machine gun and I thought "hey look he's awesome". And then he got his spine ripped out by Bumblebee the asshole.
No one likes Optimus Prime. Top 3 robots:

2. Panther robot.
3. Scorpion robot.
And they all die. :(
The scorpion survived the first film, just to kill an ancient robot in the second and then the old robot ripped him apart.

Dragona, is it bad that I haven't seen a single Transformers film?
Also, would you guys mind giving me your opinion on this?
The snowmen are in Tristes’s yard too, but he hasn’t noticed. Despite it being eleven in the morning, he hasn’t moved from his bed, and by now his parents know enough not to try to make him. The snowmen sense this, or at least they seem to as they move slowly towards his window. They don’t walk so much as glide, leaving a flattened trail of snow behind them. Now they are in a line, the tallest in front, carrot nose inches away from Tristes’s window. Inside, although his head is buried beneath his blankets, Tristes hears a tapping on his window. For a moment he contemplates ignoring it, but then curiosity gets the better of him, and he sighs, throwing back his covers and standing. His hair is a mess, dark skin marked from spending too much time in bed, and his clothes are the ones he wore the night before.
The wooden floor is cold on his feet as he walks to the window, pulling back the curtain. By the time he gets there, the snowmen-all six of them-have returned to their original positions on the lawn. But as he stares out, searching up and down the street, he sees a group of three-a girl and two boys- flying past, grinning, and he feels a surge of nostalgia for when that was him.
But as he shakes his head and goes to turn away, one of the snowmen moves. Not much, not far, but enough for Tristes to take another look. And then a different snowman begins gliding toward the window, almost looking like it’s smiling, and instead of backing away, Tristes stands there staring at it for a moment and then backs away.
He looks from his bed to the window and then to his door, and then shakes his head, walking to the door and pushing it open. Down the hallway is his dining room, where his mother and father and sister are sitting, eating breakfast. He wants to feel offended that they didn’t ask him to join them, but he can’t, because it’s been long enough that they know that he never would have said yes. They’ve started just taking his food back to him, now.
So it’s no surprise to him that they’re shocked when he tells them that he’s going to go outside, and where’s his coat, please?

As for the age appropriateness on depression, I'm not certain. It probably depends on what kind of details you include, maybe? Idk. If you do it sensibly and sensitively, which of course I'm sure you will, I don't see why not. :) ^^

I mean, there are characters in plenty of children's fiction who are not exactly on top of the world, and maybe learning to respect things like depression would be a positive thing, also.
If there are details of self-harm and such, I think that's a different case, but... your more child-friendly doesn't want to go out, anxiety, self-deprecation kind of ideas - if you set it to build a level of sympathy and I hope he gets better, kind of?
SOmetimes I'm not sure why there are kept such differences between physical and mental illness/problems, in a sense that both are equally important, y'know? Why should people be sheltered from mental health problems but not from brittle bone disease? Idk.
Although, I do like the appeal of snowman ice cream, Dragona. :P
Taia - brittle bone disease was just the first thing that popped into my head.

Taia, it's not going to be especially detailed- he's not the self harm type of depression, more the type where he doesn't want to do anything or talk to anyone or anything. And I totally agree that it's just as important as physical issues. The only reason I really care if its age appropriate is that it's for a contest that I would quite literally kill to win, and I don't wan to lose because of that.

I was justifying my use of components, so I have "Multiple pictures of animals and birds, with the caption 'a farm and aviary'", which I've justified by saying "Accurate picture, plus the caption reassures people that the animals are in a farm and aren't just walking all over the park, which would make some people nervous."
And I'm just saying because that's just a me-like thing to say. XD

I was talking about why I'd used Adobe Flash too, and the reason is because the school told us to, but I couldn't say that and I didn't have a clue what I was saying so I just kind of went "I am going to be using Adobe Flash to make my animation, because it's the most reliable animation program I know and no other program animates things so well. Also, I knew how to use it, so when making my animation I didn't waste valuable time familiarising myself with new software. I also used Adobe Fireworks to edit some of my pictures, as sometimes they would not work as well for their purpose in their original state. I picked Adobe Fireworks because it's installed on my computer and it's quick and easy to open and edit with. There's no point going to vast lengths to find other software when you have some that will do the job."

All the characters were just . . .
well, imagine a little kid writing a story. And in the story, the character is in the desert for some reason, and they have a kettle for some reason, and they have water for some reason. The character will put the water in the kettle and turn the kettle on and the kettle will boil, despite there being no power socket or way for the kettle to get the power in order to boil. The kid doesn't think about WHY the kettle boils when it's switched on, it just knows it does, so when replicating a kettle, it makes it boil water, but it knows kettles boil water.
That was like that. The film knew the characters did this or that, so they made them do it, and the scene flowed from place to place and the events happened, but they didn't bother to think WHY the characters would do this or that.
Jace just kind of followed Clary around making the occasional remark. This fits in with the story, and the words he says match up with words that Jace said.
But if you use that very basic little skill called common sense, which for some reason isn't very common, then - what?
Jace wouldn't have done that. Jace doesn't just follow people around. Jace dominates the situation. And maybe Clary wanted to go somewhere, and Jace thought it was a good idea, but he wouldn't have said "okay" and just followed her. He would make it look more like she was following him.
And also, Jace hated Valentine as soon as he realised who he was.
He wouldn't have done that.
I mean, Jace is pretty broken. Imagine Jace as a broken mirror. And there's one large chunk of unbrokenness in the middle, the largest piece, and Jace treasures it, because it's the more pure thing he has.
He doesn't want to smash that piece of mirror.
He doesn't want to smash that.
And he'll madly reflect all his broken bits of mirror in order for the light to hit him differently so he doesn't have to see the world as it is, because he doesn't want to smash it.
Also, Jace loves Valentine. Even after everything, Jace loves Valentine. And so maybe he wouldn't follow him into Idris, because he knows Valentine sucks, but he still loves him.
Also, Valentine was just this random evil villain guy. -_- Valentine wouldn't just go in like I AM THE EVIL GUY I WANT TO KILL YOU ALL BECAUSE YOU ARE THE GOOD GUYS AND THAT IS WHAT EVIL GUYS DO. Valentine's scary. He's calm, he's manipulative, and he believes he's the good guy.
Plus, Valentine wouldn't try to kill Jace, because Valentine still thinks he can use Jace and he wouldn't want to alienate him.
So Valentine and Jace just fighting each other totally sucked. -_-
Also, Isabelle wasn't really anyone. She just kind of went around with them.
Isabelle is . . . Isabelle. She's so HERSELF. And she dominates, too. And she's . . .
she would apparently take Simon's heart and walk all over in in high-heeled boots.
Where was that characterisation?
Also, Luke wasn't Luke enough. The actor wasn't that great, I don't think.
And . . . yeah.
Alec was pretty okay, but then again you don't get much of a sense of Alec in the first book.

Percy Jackson - never read the books, disliked both the films.
Harry Potter - read half a book and got bored. So yeah I think the films are better. Yes, The Deathly Hallows Part 1 wasn't good, but Part 2 made up for it.
Dragona, I'm going to have to disagree with on most of that. I agree that CF and Mockingjay weren't nearly as good as THG, especially Mockingjay,b ut the first film i thought was pretty good and stayed fairly true to the books. The CF one was way better than that, though.
YOU SHOULD READ PERCY JACKSON THEY ARE WONDERFUL and yeah the movies were terrible.
Harry Potter is AWESOME, especially after the first book, and there is no way the films are better. And Deathly Hallows Part 1, in terms of sticking to the books, was way better than Part 2.

It was the end of our physics rotation today, and our physics teacher was telling us that when we came back in September, we would be doing practical work in pairs every lesson (which doesn't sound good - me and C don't like practicals and we kind of fail at them, plus the only time we had to plan one and do one properly, we spent five minutes umming and ahing about the method, like "are we going to be holding the test tube or are we going to put it in a test tube rack?" and "which one of us will hold the test tube?" and "do we write that we put the metal in first or start the stopwatch first?" (because they happen simulataneously), and it's just like OH MY GOSH WE'RE TOO SIMILAR WE NEED A NORMAL PERSON TO SORT US OUT. :P
. . . Anyway.)
And Miss was saying that we could all get A*s on the practical work, and that we were going to have a method, and all we had to do was stick to the method. As long as we stuck to the method, it would be fine, and we would do well on our exam, but if we strayed from it, it would be bad, so we just had to STICK TO THE METHOD.
And it ominously reminded me of in Catching Fire when Katniss and Peeta just have to STICK TO THE CARDS and they're standing there with false smiles frozen on their faces reading off these cards going "We are very happy and in love" in order to stop their families getting killed, and in front of them there's all these rioting people screaming and then the Peacekeepers come and start shooting -

Spoilers for first Percy Jackson book/movie only
The PJ movies were horrible and drained the characters of their personalities and made the plot stupid and cliche.
Way to ruin a good series.
They may as well have killed off Annabeth. She's supposed to be smart and kinda quirky. That's what I liked about her.
And I liked that Percy was a bit of an underdog. And then at camp, he wasn't just some cool guy before he'd done anything. I mean, he'd fought Mrs. Dodds, but they all have to deal with things like that. It's why there's a camp for them. It's somewhere they can be safe and belong.
And the movie ruined that, tbh.
Also running around collecting magic pearls was stupid.
And I didn't like how they changed the villain.
Or how he left Grover in the underworld.
