Apparently I'll be appearing at the Imagine Festival in London this Monday, the 17th. I had a blast last year, where I showed clips from movies, but I'm not entirely sure what I'll do this time. I might read from one of the new short stories. I'd read from the ninth book, but there is nothing from the early sections finished, and anything read from later on would be a spoiler, so...
Oh, and speaking of Book 9, I have just reached the 75,000 word mark. Judging by this, the finished book will be at least 100,000 words, which is Mortal Coil length, and could be longer. LSODM will stay the longest, I reckon, simply because of the massive amount of characters involved. But because most of those characters are now DEAD, Book 9 allows me a smaller, more intimate story — while remaining as heart-rendingly traumatic as anything I've written before.
And speaking of heart-rendingly traumatic, I've actually written the last few chapters. Not to completion, of course, but I've written enough to know what happens, and how it ends, and who lives and who dies, and all I can say is...
I am MEAN.

Most of the time, the posters are just WHAT THE HELL, but some of them are cool. :)

It's about . . . well, I'll describe the first season. A load of fairytale characters are trapped in this modern-day town and they've forgotten who they are. The only one who can break the spell is a woman called Emma who's just moved there and doesn't believe in magic or anything of the sort. She's there because her son, whom she hasn't seen for eleven years after she gave him up for adoption, is there. His stepmom is the evil queen, Regina, but of course Emma doesn't believe that. Her son Henry is the only one who believes in the fairytale stuff, and everyone of course thinks it's just a delusion of his.
It has interesting characters and complex relationships and good acting and a horrendously confusing storyline.
It keeps skipping back into the past, to when they were in the fairytale world, and goes into the character's backstories.

The idea of it was good, and I wanted to watch more but never got around to it... I don't know, though. It didn't seem... there were some points where I didn't believe it was an apocalyptic world full of zombies. It seemed, at some times, more of a soap and I didn't like that about it.

Okay, so Hunter and Ez were just having a text conversation, and I went back and changed it to a phone call halfway through because I thought it would be better with their voices, and then I'm going through and editing the text to speech, and . . . it's fascinating, how we speak differently in text to in real life. :) You never really think about it much, but you do. You phrase things different.
Ez texted "Okay, I think you got the city right and left", and when changing that to speech, I thought it would be better with a "Yeah" rather than an "Okay," and . . . little things like that. You barely notice. Or "They're all really similar" in text to "They all get really similar" in speech. In text you're slightly . . . you phrase things in a more correct way, because you actively write out the words rather than just saying what's in your head.
I stumble so often when speaking because there's a thought in my head and I say in. In text, you have a backspace, but also you actively structure it.
Idk, it's fascinating.

Derek decided to tell a story. I get teased still months later by my friends. Here goes it:
Zaf and Ravel were happily married for 30 years. Until she did something bad, really bad. She cheated on him with Crux. Zaf and Ravel had 17 adopted kids. And a puppy that turned into a dog and then into a sheep.
I don't really have a favorite because everyone's just really really awesome...
