Apparently I'll be appearing at the Imagine Festival in London this Monday, the 17th. I had a blast last year, where I showed clips from movies, but I'm not entirely sure what I'll do this time. I might read from one of the new short stories. I'd read from the ninth book, but there is nothing from the early sections finished, and anything read from later on would be a spoiler, so...
Oh, and speaking of Book 9, I have just reached the 75,000 word mark. Judging by this, the finished book will be at least 100,000 words, which is Mortal Coil length, and could be longer. LSODM will stay the longest, I reckon, simply because of the massive amount of characters involved. But because most of those characters are now DEAD, Book 9 allows me a smaller, more intimate story — while remaining as heart-rendingly traumatic as anything I've written before.
And speaking of heart-rendingly traumatic, I've actually written the last few chapters. Not to completion, of course, but I've written enough to know what happens, and how it ends, and who lives and who dies, and all I can say is...

Usually two people decide they want to roleplay something. Or someone solos and people either join in or don't.
I really want to lyricsspam, but simply by writing out lyrics you can never get the impression of the music and when you read them over they look woefully inadequate. It's like trying to sum up the sound of a waterfall in words. Maybe you can write out a few words like "CRASH", but on this comment thread you can't change the size or the style, so you can never get across the LOUDNESS, and even if could get the sound of the waterfall, how are you meant to show the feeling you get stand there looking at this water pouring in front of you and this sense of awe and power?
You can't really do it.
So lyricspamming doesn't really work unless it's a song that focuses mainly on lyrics and very little on sound and atmosphere and that. :P

@Star: I suppose you can describe how the song sounds to you, what it makes you feel, what it could make others feel... idk.
I guess it's trying to put a sound into the format or words, and it's like... idk. You couldn't describe a sound to a person without hearing, but you can describe what's making the sound, and what effect it has?
Like a tiny little fuzz in a corner beneath the skin of your ear, or a pained screeching that's both terrified and terrifying, and sounds kind of like that gross vibrate-y feeling under your nails when you scrape them across a rough surface.
Or... When I talk about Pavement's "We Dance", and I say how Stephen Malkmus' syllable placement and the particular phonetic qualities kind of just stops time? I guess that goes into describing the feeling more than the sound... idk.
Maybe it depends on the sounds?

Adra is currently on an expedition in what might possibly be the laziest solution (but simultaneously the most ridiculous) to deciding the child's name. However, I can write in a past version of Adra, so the events that we write about will be in her past, if you like. To me, that seems like the best option.

You believe that he deserves to die, but I have known him for around a century and I can guarantee you that whatever has messed his mind up can be reversed.
Instead of trying to torture him into submission, since he isn't going anywhere, why don't you try to fix what went wrong with the magic so he will be back to who he was before, and will tell you willingly. Then, she will be freed, and Drew will be alive.
