As was recently pointed out to me, "Nerdy Dalek" is an anagram of my name, so I suppose it's only fitting that my birthday should be the day my Doctor Who story comes out on ebook. The Mystery of the Haunted Cottage is a Tenth Doctor adventure and I had unimaginable fun writing it. For those of you who don't read ebooks, fret not- a physical book, containing all eleven stories by eleven writers, will be arriving late next month.
Ah yes, my birthday. I am 39 today. Some people might worry about reaching that age — just one more birthday till 40, after all. But not me. I shall live forever. And I don't mean in a metaphorical sense. I don't mean I'll live forever in the hearts and minds of my readers. I mean I will literally live forever, drawing as I do from your pain and suffering.
Your pain makes me strong.
Today is the day I knuckle down and officially start Book 9. I've been writing bits and pieces of it for the last few weeks — I've got close to 10,000 words done — but today it kicks off properly. October 23rd is, of course, the day Skulduggery died, hundreds of years ago. Once again, I think it's only fitting that I begin his final book on such a date. Poignant, even.

Drew: Let Death go Judhipor. She's needed here.
Death, I know you can hear me! Lorcan is dying Death. You don't need this bitch out to feel something.
Justaria: *screams falling back into the snow*
*sits on park bench*
*observes quietly*

*Lorcan sighs*
Lorcan: I know... I know the kind of destruction and killing my mother did. I don't want that.
*Lorcan looks at Alexis*
Lorcan: Lexi promise me one thing... if my wolf starts to get out or gets out. You have to kill it. Kill me.
*Takes her eyes off Zaffy an smiles at Drew* Wolfy, he's screaming at me now. Good job. I now have a headache. *Pauses for a moment* I shut her up!! All is good... And I'm not a bitch... *Shrugs and skips to Zaf, glaring madly*
Alexis: *sighs* I'll try to not kill you only if necessary but if turning me helps you live I'd let your wolf turn me.

Justaria: *tries using shadows to block the gaze*
*Drew growls*
Drew: Please Judhipor!! Lorcan needs her, she would never forgive you if you didn't give her the chance to say goodbye.
Death! We can't find a cure. We don't know how long he has.
*looks at Sir as if he'd just said his brain was made of cottage cheese*

Damn... You're a genius, Justaria. *Crosses her arms over her chest and pouts* No fair. *Pins Justaria to the ground and slowly starts to crush her*
*Lorcan tries to jump up suddenly*
Lorcan: No Lexi!!! You must never let that animal sink it's teeth into you.
Do not worry, I believe he shall come unarmed.
Well, I suppose technically he shall has his magic, but you certainly have your own, as well.
Justaria: *laughs and uses hand to drive a knkfe into her shoulder* Let. Me. Go.
*Turns to Drew and her eyes go sad but the expression is wiped away quickly. She shrugs* So? He's a kid. Kids die all the time. *Shrugs again but her arms starts to quiver*
Alexis: *sighs* Willingly I won't ok? *kisses cheek* Stay with me please

*looks surprised and confused*

Drew: Come on Death!! You were the person to calm him when he first shifted in wolf form. You spent the day with him the other day, kept him clean and comfortable while he was having his spasms, when Lexi couldn't be there for him.
You told me you looked at him like a younger brother. Well I know you don't leave younger brothers behind!!

I understand that it was most likely very dangerous, but, thankfully it resulted in a hopefully better situation for Mr. Neurotic.

Drew: His poisoning is so extensive that they are worried about what damage it's done to his heart. They're not sure if he can last long enough to fight the silver off.
Erm, yes. I sort of tossed the thing into an active volcano.
The materials it was made of should be at the core of Io in about... Oh, given the current rate of crustal displacement...

*lays in the snow bleeding* Help..
Javier: Zaf!!! *kneels beside* Hush *picks up and takes to the doctor he knows*

*She runs an angry hand through her hair and walks into Lorcan's room* Hey bud. What's up? *Looks back at Drew and quickly gives him a tight hug. Whispers to him* He will survive. His heart will work. I will make sure of it. He is not going to die on me. On us. On everyone. I'll never forgive myself.
*Turns back to Lorcan and finds another cloth to wipe clean him with* I bet you're feeling pretty lucky to have two girls taking care of you, one a total stunner, *smiles at Alexis* and me. *Wipes down his forehead* You lucky man... I know so many people who would kill for your place right now.

And because he knows that Lorcan is fighting to hard, he's playing on that fact to take over.
*They all hear a snap and see part of Lorcan's wrist bone sticking out. Lorcan gasps and screams*

*Turns and runs out of the building to throw up. Walks back in a moment later, slightly green* Drew. His wolf needs to come out. *Looks up at him, determined* I can't keep Judi under control forever. I have to slip at times and let her out. She'll destroy me, otherwise. The same thing is happening with Lorcan. *Grabs onto Drew's hand tightly* His his wolf needs to get out, then let his wolf fucking take over. *Pulls on Drew's arm* Please! We have to! If you weren't such a good friend, I already would have punched your jaw. *Turns back to Lorcan and starts to shush him*
*Lorcan tries to catch his breath as he starts crying*
Lorcan: What have I done? what have I done? Oh god...
*Drew shakes his head*
Drew: It's dangerous, it's too dangerous with his wolf.

*Lorcan starts to wake up and takes a deep breath. He picks up the scent of blood quickly as his eyes start illuminating.
He screams as his hands start to grow claws and he starts shifting*
Alexis: *bites lip* He won't attack me...
*Mutters* I know... It's acting... *Closes her eyes and sets up the barrier between Lorcan and everyone else*
Oi. In my pack I've got some med supplies. Alexis can you do it? If you can't, I'm sure Drew can help... *Frowns and makes a second barrier*
*Drew puts his hand on Alexis' shoulder and he holds his handkerchief to her arm*
Drew: he won't attack you sweets.
*Lorcan starts clawing the wall and howling as his shifting is nearly finished. It all becomes silent as his shifting stops and the werewolf is standing in his place. The wolf turns quickly and goes to charge them all before yelping as he charges head first into the barrier*
Alexis: *watches in shock* What is happening? Like what happens if the wolf doesn't get blood? I'm willing to let him have blood
Gah... Dude, you're strong... *Repairs the weak spot in the irate barrier*

Drew: Don't let him have blood sweets. That will only turn it into an addiction and if he's to be with you. He needs to learn how to go without blood.
And nothing will happen. The whole point was to get him to shift and see if that makes the poisoning more bearable to wait out.
Are you okay Death?
I'm fine... He's just stronger than I thought... *Grits her teeth* I'm fine!
Alexis: I hope this works I'm losing my mind...seeing him hurt the only thing keeping me occupied is my schoolwork I'm still number one in my grade but...

*Lorcan lets out a roar aimed at them all. He paces for a few minutes before charging towards the barrier again*
Drew: Damn...
Alexis: How long does it last?
Ow. Ow. *Fixes the barrier and grits her teeth tighter together*
Drew: We have to see what he's like throughout the night...
*Lorcan whimpers as he makes a choking sound. He then coughs up a puddle of silver. He then becomes unsteady on his back legs as he falls onto his side, he starts to twitch*
Drew: Well seems like the poison is still effective.
Alexis: you think?!
Drew... *Makes a small hole and crawls through the second barrier, still protected by the first. Closes the second barrier so no one can follow*
*Drew goes up the barrier*
Drew: Death! What are you doing??
Come out from there Death.
Lorcan... Are you okay... *Stands up and places her hands on the barrier, looking at him*
*Lorcan stops twitching and he takes heavy breaths in his wolf form as he whimpers*
I need to know he's okay!! *Walks through the first barrier, repairs it then creates a similar barrier around herself* He can't touch me.
Lorcan. Are you alright? *Blinks rapidly* I'm straining myself... Damn... The second barrier's coming down... *Lets the second barrier fall*
Alexis: *bites lip* ((i am here jjsy like closing eyes I'm comfy so if i poof i feel asleep

*Lorcan shifts back into human form as he struggles to catch his breath. His eyes are turning grey again*
Drew: Death, it's not safe, he could shift so quickly.
I've got a shield! *Walks over to Lorcan and bends down next to him. Takes the barrier away from her arm and strokes his hair* Hey buddy...
Lorcan: Whats... happening? It's... hard... to... breath...
*He gasps, taking in short breaths as his back arches in pain*
I'm not sure... Your wolf was out... Do you think you can do that again? *Places a hand on his chest an taps a symbol on her arm to heal him* Oi, bud. It feels almost like your rubs were done for... They're better.
Lorcan: Why... do... you...want... me... to... do... it... again?
*Lorcan starts finding it hard to stay awake*
Alexis: Oh Lorcan
Never mind. First I said it. *Hugs him tightly* Are you okay? *Kisses his forehead*

*Hugs him tighter and glances at Drew* The barrier is coming down... *Takes her shield and the barrier down*

*Drew kneels beside Lorcan*
Drew: Lorcan don't you dare. I know that took a lot out of you man but you can keep going.
*Lorcan squeezes Death's hand*

*Slaps Lorcan's face* YOURE NOT GOING TO SLEEP! YOURE STAYING HERE WITH ME AND DREW AND LEXIE!!
Alexis: *goes over to* Lorcan! Oh gods...
*Lorcan opens his eyes more just to be hit with another wave of spasms throughout his body*
Drew: Death we can't keep him awake all night...
I can. I will. *Holds Lorcan tighter*
Alexis: It'll only hurt him Rose...
*Makes a whining noise then stands up* I don't want to even risk it...
Drew: Death has a point Lexi, he could pass if we let him sleep and none of us would know.
*Lorcan's spasms become harder. A grinding noise from his teeth is heard*
Lorcan: Lexi... I'm... I lo...
*His back arches in pain again*
Lorcan... *Grits her teeth and punches the cave wall* What do we do!? *Turns back to everyone and looks down at Lorcan* Babe... We will find a way...
((Has finished sewing spiders on things))

*Lorcan strains as he tries to fight against his spasms*
Drew: Lorcan, don't do that.
*Lorcan turns onto his stomach and throws up again*
*Curses and walks out of the cave. Walks down to the lake and dunks her head in before scooping some up. She takes it back to the cave an dumps it on Lorcan's head* Keep you're eyes open.
*shadow-walks beside Drew* Do you want some help?
*Lorcan jumps and gasps for breath*
Lorcan: Help!... what?
*Drew takes Lorcan and lies him down with his head on his lap as Drew sits against the wall of the cave. Drew puts a jacket under Lorcan's head and a blanket over him*
Drew: I suggest we all get some sleep. I'll keep an eye on him and make sure he makes it until morning okay??

((I'm actually excited for Homecoming dance tomorrow night and I'm scared for next week to talk to Derek with my friends at a Halloween party....it's scary. I mean it's my 3rd time but everyone else it's their first so it'll be fun it's 5 of us so i think it'll be a relief from tomorrow with all the lunatics at Val's party))
