Reaction to the book is exactly what I'd been hoping for — shock and AWE. There have been MANY threats of violence and decapitation made against me, which I thoroughly deserve for what I've put you through.
All in all, people have been very good about not spoiling it for others, but dear god, there have been some exceptions. A few things on the Facebook page, a lot of stuff on Twitter, some stuff on Tumblr, and one of the very first Amazon reviews has a major spoiler. I don't understand the need to spoil things for others or to seek out spoilers for yourself, and I really can't understand why anyone would casually mention a plot twist without realising it could ruin things for others.
Basically, beware of the internet, Minions.
But on a lighter note, Orla came to a signing on Saturday and she gave me a photograph of the cake she'd had for her birthday.

You know my playlists?
Well, I have a list of the order I'm doing them in, but the thing is, I put each by a number depending on what the name looks like. You know how I see letters and words in colours? Well, the name has to go with the letter and match up with colours if possible . . . I try and make them all go. And so when I get soemtghing else to playlist, I fiddle about with the names and the numbers trying to get them all to match. Little Mix went well twith the number 8 so Little Mix is number 8. When I deleted numbers 1, 2 and 6 (long stories. 1 and 2 weren't proper playlists anyway), I had to take all the videos off them instead of properly deleting them so the names could keep therir right nmbers. Number 1 and number 6 are blank now, but I started number 10 before number 6 beacuse I wanted to do it more, but I couldn't fill up 1 and 6 because of the matching.
I don' even know when this started. I just thought I would do this band then this band beacuse the numbers went, and then I started rearrnging in my head to make the numbers fit, and then when I wrote the list down I kept right on with the matching. It didn't even strike me as odd until now . . .

Oh. That's awkward Gemma. Shotguns are the only firearms any of my characters can stand. And handguns and such.
But mostly, they avoid guns. They draw too much attention, and are pretty much unnecessary when you have raged magic.
Although, tartan cleavers do have rifles.

That is my favourite gun of all time, the Heckler and Koch MP5A3. It is great. German sub-machine gun. That would most suit my character. At every chance I get (stories, video games etc) I give my character one.

And I diskike shotguns also. They're like... Bad. Apart from the AA-12. That thing is amazing. Automatic shotgun.
But shotguns in general are bad. They're too close range. At least with a SMG you have a chance at medium range.
Ok maybe for Nacht der Untoten I like the trench gun a little... but the double barrel annoys the life out of me...

Trip, some can indeed. It depends on the type of shell they fire and the length of the barrel. For a shotgun my favourite has to be (apart from the AA-12, the Remington 870cs.

Gemma, the M1 was good for its time. One of the better ones.
Trip, big example of that is Call of Duty. I prefer to play more realistic games using the actual statistics of the gun.
Most guys find my knowledge of cars and guns amazing, here I just feel awkward...

The other day my friend was like "oh yeah AUG rifle with a flamethrower underneath."
And I started saying how no real soldier would have a flamethrower on his gun - grenade launcher or undermounted shotgun at the very most.
The game that I play (not where I got my knowledge from btw), had Andy McNab (the author - ex-sas) come in and do things for realism. To make sure the game felt right and was all correct. Then he also wrote a book too.

Swords will always be the best. Japanese ones especially. The katana is amazing (have one at home). But the bad thing is people use them wrong. In every film they use them wrong. The curved katanas are meant to be used in a 'hooking' technique.
