I thought the title of this entry was smart and funny, effectively conveying the relief at another tour being over and done with in a winning and whimsical manner. But how many of you are going to miss the John Lennon reference and just puzzle at the "Happy Christmas| part? Ah well. Too late now to go changing it.
So, another tour bites the dust. This was a fun one, lots of people turning up, lots of glares and scowls and cakes and pictures and fist-bumps and many, many moody looks into camera... All in a day's work, really. Thanks to everyone who came along — it was tiring but I had a blast.
And now I'm home, and it's time to get organised.
There's going to be some cool news coming your way over the next few weeks and months. Some of it will make you go "Cool!" and some of it will make you grin. Some of it, of course, will make you weep, as it's coming up to that time when I'll have to start plotting out Book Nine. Most of you will still be reeling from the events of LSODM, so you'll know not to trust me. For some reason, the tagline from the original Texas Chain Saw Massacre is floating through my head...
"Who will survive, and what will be left of them?"
The good news is, now that the pressure of editing and touring is off, I'll be able to get back to my regular (ahem) blogging and Twitter routine, so I should be chatting to you guys a little more often than I have been. Hopefully.
The fact is, I'm going to be incredibly busy for the next year. Want a brief rundown on what I have ahead of me?
1) Plot, write and finish Book Nine by March.
2) Work on Mystery Project 2.
3) Write 10 brand new short stories for the Skulduggery Collection out next Summer.
4) Work on Mystery Project 3.
5) Devise, plan and start writing New Book Series by September 2014.
6) Work on Mystery Project 4.
All that, and blog and tweet and play with my nieces. Oh, and my nephew.
Nephew, you say? But Golden God, you don't HAVE a nephew. I do now, gentle Minion. Born this afternoon, weighing in at over 9 pounds, Baby Skulduggery is now part of my Baby Army of Terror, and he is to be feared.
(Okay fine, my sister hasn't OFFICIALLY named him Baby Skulduggery, but come on... How could she NOT?)

Hi everyone :)
Back.
Funny thing happened on Mass Effect multiplayer earlier.
My character is a Quarian Infiltrator (who is actually a female on the game - though here I'm a male - just to make that clear). I was running around shooting at some Reaper thingies, launching sticky grenades at some Husks, sneaking behind some Brutes using my tactical cloak and then shooting them in the back with my shotgun... then I ran into a Banshee.
Banshees are powerful btw. They can float and have powerful biotic barriers, and armour below that.
So I shot it a few times (to no effect) and it grabbed my Quarian, stabbed her with its arm (which is kind of a blade) in her stomach, lifted her up in the air, screamed in her face and then stabbed her again.
And I died.
I was like, "That is so not fair..."
Then the wave finished so I came back alive a few moments later and met the Banshee again.
This time I turned invisible as it was using biotic jumps (like teleports) to close in on me. Then when it least expected it I deactivated my invisibility and shot it directly in the face with my shotgun.
That time, it died.
Mwhahahahaha.
My Quarian is pink and black xD
It was the default and I was too busy sorting out my shotgun with a smart choke thing that increases the accuracy to deal with the colours xD
Adra, do you know if Ember will come here today? And I swear it is not because of Mycroft that I want her to come! (well... maybe a little bit:P)

You know, every year when it snows for the first time of the winter, I get all enthusiastic and I'm like YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY IT'S SNOW!!! And my friend's like so what? It snows every year. But getting happy about snow equals more happiness, so yay! :)
And then the next day I remember how much I hate snow and how horrible it is to walk up to your ankles in it in school shoes and then how yuck it is to put on damp shoes in the morning and they're all cold and wet and urghhhh, and also, snow is so damn COLD, and also, I get so sick of it.
And then when the snow melts I get really excited about all the green everywhere. :)

@Star: I use metaphors very often, too, so that wasn't QUITE my intention. :P I totally get you. But in the context I meant, it's a different case. It kind of rifles through them in such a way... It's all one thing, then another, and contradiction and confusion and since we already kinda know it's supposed to be somewhat insincere at this point, so that kind of reinforces, or... I don't know.
I don't really like the approach we have to take towards the task. But it's a point that I need to to include, whether I fully agree or not, I guess. IDK.

I saw also something else that was funny. Someone was a Volus (like a little fat alien who is practically a ball on legs - and they come up to about your thigh)... and they were in cover as a Marauder (a rather large soldier used by the Reapers), was coming nearby.
And then the Volus jumped out of cover, picked UP the Marauder and threw it over its shoulder.
I couldn't stop laughing. It was so small and it threw something like four times the size of it over its shoulder xD

I love/hate snow. :)
I'm glad I have it, though. I'd rather have it than not. I'm glad I live in England. When it's hot, I miss being cold. Cold equals snow. Heat just equals melted candles and feeling like you're dying. Plus cold equals staying indoors and being cosy and fire and stuff. Cosyness. <3
Although, when you're standing outside unable to stop yourself shaking with cold and it's raining and you're just withdrawing into yourself because it's so cold and it's just urghhhh and you have to stand outside then I partially wonder hwy the hell I miss it . . . but I miss being cold when I'm not. Cold is so much more . . . sharp and clear, in a way. Like bright white, and warm is just this musty brown. Although, sometimes the white is so bright it hurts you, and then your atoms can't handle the energy and you start shaking apart. But yes. :)

Oh! I figured out this interesting thing! Niccolò is actually improving my colloquial! I mean, I would hope that it wasn't too shoddy to begin with, but it's evolving. Like, earlier today the bell rang telling my friend she was late to class, and I said "You might consider running," and then I was realized that's exactly the kind of thing Niccolò would say! And then once I realized that I started wondering what I would have said without his influence, and the first thing that popped into my head was "Perhaps you ought to run," and that's even more like something he would say! So... Yeah... I'm pretty excited about that, though, because I've been trying to improve my everyday speech. And that was kind of random. But yeah. So, how is everyone?

The boys who usually call for Slipknot Person and his little brother walked right past their house, and neither Slipknot Person nor his little brother (who is still older than me) got on the bus, and I was like O_O. But then at lunch, after we'd eaten and were collecting our bags, Slipknot Person's little brother was talking to his friends RIGHT NEXT TO US O_O O_O O_O and then he got on the bus on the way home. Maybe Slipknot Person's little brother had a dentist's appointment in the morning? Slipknot Person could have just have had the day off or summat *adds 'summat' to dictionary* as he is sixth form, or been ill, or just skived, but his little brother's year eleven so he would have had lessons right through the day . . . UNLESS he went off to college in the morning, which could be possible, I suppose.
