Laura was meant to come round yesterday to pick up her copy, but instead she's calling round tonight. While I wait for her to arrive, I've been going over the word counts to all the books so far. I'm very surprised by the first four books— for some reason, I thought everything I've written had been over 80,000 words. Apparently not.
Skulduggery Pleasant was 67,393 words.
Playing With Fire was 69,683.
The Faceless Ones was 69,689.
Dark Days was 77,335.
And now we see the numbers start to jump...
Mortal Coil was 104,000.
Deathbringer was 118,000.
Kingdom of the Wicked was 134,765.
And the second draft of Last Stand of Dead Men is coming in at a back-breaking 156,688 words. Basically, it's twice the length of Dark Days.
I don't know how long it'll be after the edit, but hopefully I'll be able to trim it down a little.

My mum says that if you're only with a few people, you have to fit in with what's there, but with more people, you can find your people and the ones who are like you. :)
This last year has been the best year in the world, friends-wise. My two new irl friends are just so jepic and sort of on my wavelength, and we just . . . click. *smiles*
And then there's the blog, which is technically more than a year, but WHATEVS.
I've found some amazing, amazing people here. People I feel comfortable with. People I feel like I can properly open myself with. People who are amazing in numerous ways, whihc I won't mention coz we'll be here all day, but yeah. People whom I can just get on with, without having to try really hard.

The contrast is darker on blogger though . . .
It's so fascinating. When I open up my profile and compare the picture on it to the same picture, about the same size, on the email I sent to myself, it's just O_O because on blogger it's way darker and it's abnormally pale on email. :)
