Wow.
Okay, that was one of the most fun competitions I've run so far. The Exquisite Corpse competition is shaping up brilliantly— the standard on display is just mind-boggling— but the Spirit Lake contest has just been fun from start to finish.
So here's what I did.
I collected all of the names of the people who entered, both here on this Blog and on Twitter, and I divided them into bundles. I made sure that each and every one had a valid reason for why they should be a video game character. Some of these reasons made sense. Some were just odd. Some were VERY odd. There are people, both Minions and Ronda Rousey fans, who are just unsettling. I'm not entirely sure how their brains work— if indeed their brains work at all.
To give you a hint of what I've been dealing with, here are a few reasons you people gave. "Because of my neurax worms." "Because I like pie." "Because I'm short.""Because I've watched Robot Wars.""Because I have a psychic elephant.""Because I have a need for speed.""Because I'm not very smart (which will make the player feel better about themselves).""Because I am Dr Who.""Because I sometimes think that I'm the only human being in the world. The rest of you are all aliens.""I would make an awesome video game character because I already AM an awesome video game character.""Because I am actually Lakota (the Spirit Lake people are my Dakota relatives)."
So I divided you all up, and those of you who entered multiple times got your names put into as many groups as possible. From each of these groups, a winner was chosen. The winners were then put into a hat.
(Not an ACTUAL hat, since I don't own one, but a METAPHORICAL hat.)
(Okay, fine, I wrote all your names on a sheet of paper and I let my cat walk on it, and the closest one to where her tail touched down was the winner.)
And sooooo... without further ado... the winner is...
Willow Kowalski!
Yayyyyyyy Willow! The only thing I know about Willow is that she's five years old (so, er, she can wait a few years before she starts reading my books) and she's a Ronda fan... It's a lovely prize, and I can't think of anyone it'd make happier.

My drawings tend to just stay in folders, which are kept inside other folders, and hidden away in boxes. Unless they're in sketchbooks or the like, in which case they just stay there. :P

Tape IS useful!
My dad moved a picture of mine today and it's old and doesn't like to be moved, so then when he shut the door behind him, leaving the room, it fell. It's been stuck together with tape for years, so I just replaced the tape to hold it back together again. And then used more tape to clean up the little bits of dust-like glass that broke off it, too.
So, yeah, that's my use of sellotape for today.(Unless you were talking a different type of tape?):P ^^

And yeah, I think I'll only draw it if I can give it away - I don't like keeping my portraits of actual people. If the drawing is a fictional person then that's fine, but drawings of real people freak me out :P
And I used to hide mines away too, but now that I'm at uni, and no one comes in my room, I can put them up as a reference for when I'm doing other drawings :)

Hm. I struggle to part with any of my artwork. Even for school, I take /everything/ away with me until I have to mount it and stuff. Despite my art 'teacher's clear objections. Last time she made me leave work in that room the roof leaked and it all got rained on. And she's just there like, "Oops. But it wasn't my fault." -.-
So now I just try to ignore her instructions on what to do with my coursework as best I can. :P
Being able to put your work on your walls without fear of interference sounds great, though. :)

@Flora: Not really, to be honest. I was more annoyed that it came close though, considering she'd ranted on about how people don't look after it properly if they take it away with them.
It didn't rain a whole lot at the time, so there were just a couple of smudged-y and creased-y blobs. Other people were worse off, though. :/
But, yeah. We have to do a few coursework projects. The first we started in year 9 and were given a list of pop artists to choose from. For me, it was a battle between Lichtenstein and Rosenquist, but I chose the former because I could hardly hold a paintbrush without destroying something at the time, so the latter seemed like the worse option. I regretted it afterwards, though, because Ben Day dots take HOURS (HOURS) and by the end of the unit I couldn't bear to look at anything with dots on it for quite some time. xD
Then the second unit was then really vague: "find an artist whose work you enjoy, to base your work on". So I'm looking into an artist called Abby Diamond who creates awesomeness, now. :)
There's so much colour and mess and awesomesauceness, though. :3

My dream last night was WEIRD. Or, there were like three. One where I visited my grandparents and gave them cookies, then two was sort of on our way home, only in the future. We were taking the superhighway home, and we missed our exit, ended up in this official-looking building, then had to pass through this really weird security, and I noticed this door...off to the side, like some sort of maintenance thing, and it was labeled "TARDIS." And then I went into the little room, it was a storage place for tables and chairs, and then there was this police box, so I went to have a closer look, and then the dream shifted. My friend |=_|||~||=||=||||| wanted me to see her gymnastics performance, so I went to watch it, and then we heard sirens blaring and this weird rumbling noise. So my first instinct was to go back, find the TARDIS, find the Doctor and Rose and figure out what was going on. Apparently I wasn't allowed to go back, though, because these guards arrested me and checked me and my family and |=_|||~||=||=|||||'s family and a bunch of other people into this really fancy hotel with lots of balconies and sunbathing chairs. Only there wasn't any sun because it was Seattle.
Anyway, like I said, it was weird and didn't make any sense whatsoever.
