And then the mother will start shaking the poor girl. "She has. A tattoo. Of your character. ON HER FACE."
And I'll peer closer. "Is that what it is? I thought it was a freckle."
"It takes up her ENTIRE face!"
"I thought it was a big freckle. Are you going to sue me now?"
"YES!"
And that's when the ninjas attack.

'I had been back for almost five hours when a weary scuffling sounded at the loose plank and my sad, bedraggled master tumbled back into the library. Leaving a trail or what I hoped was mud in his wake, he limped his way like some giant land snail up the stairs to the first room floor, where he promptly collapsed against a wall. Out of the spirit of scientific curiousity, I lit a small Flame and inspected him closely. It's a good job I've had experience dealing with stygian implets and the like, because he wasn't a pretty sight. He seemed to have been taken bodily and rolled through a particulary pungent mire or stable yard, before being stirred head first into a vat of dirt and grass-cuttings. His hair stuck up like a porcupine's rump. His jeans were torn and bloodied at the knee. He had a large bruise on his cheek and a nasty cut above one ear. Best of all, thoughm his eyes were furious.
"Has a good evening, sir?" I said.
"A fire," he snarled. "Make me a fire. I'm freezing."
This haughty master mode sounded a little out of place coming from something a jackal would have spurned, but I didn't object. I was finding it all too amusing. So I gathered sundry buts of wood, got a reviving fire going, then settled down (in Ptolemy's form) as close as I could stomach.
"Well," I said cheerily, "this makes a pleasant change. Usually it's the djinni who comes in worn out and covered in muck. I approve of suck innovations. What made you leave the library? Did Lovelace's forces find you? Did Jabor breaki in?"
He spoke slowly through clenched teeth. "I went to get a newspaper."
This was getting better and better! I shook my head regretfullly. "You should leave such a dangerous assignment to people better qualified: next time ask an old granny, or a toddler-"

Once Upon a Time is a TV show. Series One was on Channel Five last year . . . We bought the box set for Christmas, also. We're a buying-box-sets-of-series' family. :)
Series One was about a modern American town where every single person in it used to be a fairytale character, only they got a curse put on them so now none of them can remember who they were.
It's very awesome. Awesome than it sounds, because to me it doesn't sound that awesome. :)

I just thought of something.
If/when a SP movie is made loads of people are going to watch it and will never have read the books. And they will never read the books. Then after seeing the movie they'll think they know everything about SP. but they won't. We k ow everything about SP. Us. We who have READ the books.
It really annoyes me when people see movies and think they know all about the story but they haven't read the book.
That is the only reason I don't want there to be a movie. Other than that I REALLY REALLY want a movie to be made.
And I know that a movie will make SP more popular. And SOME people will probably read it after seeing the movie.

And then the film came along, and only represented a TINY proportion of what the books did (IMO). But people who didn't read the books didn't GET that. They thought that was just IT.
No, it's because Hunter and Never have this thing about mushrooms. They built a Mushroom City, once. Or, they will build a mushroom city, since I haven't even written far in the future enough for them to know Never, but still.
Ez and Hunter have this thing about onions. Onions are evil and plotting to kill us all. *nods* They only target the weak, though. *visualises a whole host of amusing scenerios and starts laughing*

Whenever I watch a film I've read the book of, I'm constantly all the way through explaining background information from the books to my family . . . I imagine it must get annoying.
IN HARRY POTTER, THEY MISSED OUT SO MUCH. THE WHOLE THING OF THE TWINS GETTING MONEY FOR THEIR JOKE SHOP, THE WHOLE HOUSE ELF THING WITH WINKY AND DOBBY WORKING AT HOGWARTS AND HERMIONE KNITTING ATT, AND ALL THIS OTHER STUFF. *sighs*

Lol, but talking about characters as if they're real people, well, that can only be good, I guess. I read somewhere that one of the most important aspects of writing is convincing your characters that they are alive. :)

I'm picky about the way in which books are written. Sometimes it takes me a while to catch on, but once I do, I find myself loving the whole thing even more. (This happened with the Chaos Walking Trilogy. I think it's my favourite book series, that I've come across, yet.)
With other books, I just can't latch onto the flow of things. That happened with Harry Potter, unfortunately. I liked the films, though. ^^

And in Chaos Walking, the everybody-being-connected thing was good. But in BZRK, everybody being connected was in the whole BAD.
ALthough it makes you thing about it. "Freedom or happiness?" is the question it poses.
Two different authors, two different opinions, I guess. Although it's odd, especially seeing their books series' are both awesome and very depressing . . .

Chaos Walking made ME cry!
I liked it because it was depressing, too. I'm uh a fan of depressing . . . I liked how it shows the faulings of humankind, too. I fond 1017's opinion that Todd had committed a greater crime than Davy because Todd understood what he was doing interesting, and correct although I wouldn't have thought of it that way on my own . . .
I like how Todd listened to the Mayor once he gives him a plaster, and not before. Not just that, the CONCEPT of that. We don't listen to people because of what they are inside, we listen to them because of what they are outside. If people can communicate betterm they are liked and listened to more than the others. Hitler had an amazing talent for oratory, which was partially why people listened to him. Without that, he wouldn't have been the HItler we know of.
The politicians, why are they the ones ruling the country? Because they make themselves sound good. We elect them because they have persuaded us they are the best. Because they are good at communicating.
It makes me sick.

Can't claim to be a Mara-style Directioner, but I can quote...ish their songs on occasion. WMYB was part of warm-up in jazz. Apparently half my class are Directioners. I didn't know that!
