Although the day BEFORE that I got to see all my nieces in their Halloween costumes (because I won't be seeing them at Halloween). Rebecca was dressed as a witch. Emily was a bumblebee. Sophie was a pig. And Clara... Clara was a skeleton, because she KNOWS who's going to be giving her the best presents when she's older. When I have pictures, I'll be sure to post them.
And what did I GET for my birthday, you ask? Well... um... okay, see, when I say it aloud, it doesn't sound that impressive, but basically I got some photographs in nice frames...
God that sounds boring.
But I really am the WORST person to buy for, as Laura was complaining to me last night. Everything I want, I pretty much have already- so what is there left to get me except really odd things that I'd never think of? See?
But some of you guys here, and at the Forum and the Facebook page, did all the celebrating for me, which was really nice of you. In particular, I'm thinking of Valkyrie V, who actually had a party with a CAKE. And Val V, I hope you don't mind, but I just HAD to post a pic of it.
I'm not really sure what Polar Bear Girl has to do with Skulduggery, but I like her style nonetheless. These guys really went out of their way to celebrate poor old Skulduggery's deathday, and they are all astonishingly sloppy eaters...
And in other news...
The Ameriminions competition is now over! I have been HUGELY impressed with your entries. They have been cool, atmospheric, creepy, action-packed, sinister, and funny- sometimes all at once! Now I have the quite enjoyable job of going through them all and picking the line that is best suited to the story I want to tell.

I don't like telling people i'm horrible coz then they always tell me "oh no you're not" coz that's just what people DO, y'know, and it always feels really attention-seeking and selfish. On the other hand, if i don't say anything bad about myself, it gives the impression that i think very highly of myself. But if i tell people that i do not, in fact, think that, then they do that whole "oh no you're not" thing again, which makes me feel selfish and attention seeking (and probably look attention-seeking coz everybody knows people who do that kind of thing just for people to go "oh no your not"). I got a watch when i was seven.
Some years later it stopped.
I began using another watch (to be refered to as the balloon watch), which i found in a cupboard somewhere.
A couple of years later my balloon watch started going faulty. It kept slowing down. Of course i could adjust it to the right time again, but then it would keep slowing down again, so i could never really be certain whether it was telling me the right time or not.
For my thirteeth birthday i got another watch (to be refered to as Inkknit). An expensive Swatch watch that cost £50.
About half a year later, the strap broke.
IT ONLY LASTED HALF A YEAR??? NEXT TIME I'M BUYING A CHEAP WATCH FROM ASDA!
So i went back to the balloon watch.
Which worked fine for a while.
Then it started slowing down again.
I got so sick of having a watch i couldn't trust, i . . . Knitted part of a new watch strap for Inkkit.
Last night:)
On one side of the watch it's an ordinary plastix strap. On the other side it's pure knitting:)
I'm pretty proud of myself. It attaches to my wrist fine and it keeps time reliably. It looks a bit weird but i like it coz it's very original and i thought it up myself:)
