85,000 words done.
I'm close. Oh boy oh boy, am I close. I spent today writing the HUGE fight at the end, and had such a good time doing it. It's a fight scene on a scale of nothing I've ever written before. So. Much. Bloody. FUN.
I've got a few more chapters until I get to the ACTUAL end, and then I have to go back and link everything up. There are whole chunks of chapters I haven't written yet, so all of that will probably take another 10 or 15,000 words, which means this book will easily be as big as Mortal Coil, if not bigger.
My deadline is the end of March, so I reckon I'll make it without a problem. Then another month or so of big edits, then another few weeks of little edits, which should take us to May or June. Then we let it sit while we decide on a title, then we get it printed, then we send it out to reviewers, and then suddenly we're in September, and you're holding it in your greedy little Minion-y hands.
If everything goes according to plan, I see no reason why we can't give you a sneak preview sometime in early summer or thereabouts.
I have another few weeks of intense work ahead of me, and then I can go back to having a life. Yayyy!

LOL My greedy little minion-y hands are desperately itching for this book which I KNOW will be a complete and utter masterpiece!! AHHH I can't wait!! It's going o be soooo good!!! You know how badly I hate waiting? There's was this anime that I was watching, and then the season ended and I was going to have to wait till next autumn [last autumn, now]. So when it came out, I didn't watch it till all of them had come out so I could watch episode after episode online! That's how much I hate waiting!!! Gah, but I know I have to! Maybe you could give us a sneak peak extremely soon?? :D

haha The worst thing about the Skulduggery Pleasant books is that they always seem to be released towards the end of the uni semester, when I am snowed under by a metric crapload of homework (and it'll be worse this year since I'm working on my thesis). However, this never stops me abandoning my academic duties for the few days it takes me to read the book after buying it as soon as it's in shops :D
*sigh* I somehow need to finish writing the first third of my own book in the next few weeks so I can use it as part of my thesis prototype application. If only I would write in chronological order :(
P.S. Just saw a previous post about DVDs, and agree that Doctor Who Season 5 and Sherlock were THE most epic new series to grace our TV screens last year :D
