85,000 words done.
I'm close. Oh boy oh boy, am I close. I spent today writing the HUGE fight at the end, and had such a good time doing it. It's a fight scene on a scale of nothing I've ever written before. So. Much. Bloody. FUN.
I've got a few more chapters until I get to the ACTUAL end, and then I have to go back and link everything up. There are whole chunks of chapters I haven't written yet, so all of that will probably take another 10 or 15,000 words, which means this book will easily be as big as Mortal Coil, if not bigger.
My deadline is the end of March, so I reckon I'll make it without a problem. Then another month or so of big edits, then another few weeks of little edits, which should take us to May or June. Then we let it sit while we decide on a title, then we get it printed, then we send it out to reviewers, and then suddenly we're in September, and you're holding it in your greedy little Minion-y hands.
If everything goes according to plan, I see no reason why we can't give you a sneak preview sometime in early summer or thereabouts.
I have another few weeks of intense work ahead of me, and then I can go back to having a life. Yayyy!

for our homework yesterday we either had to fill out a homophone sheet or write a story using ten homophones *five pairs* and so i chose the story now read the story
I stare at my blood stained hands unsure of what just happened. A man, torn to shreds, lies at my feet. A dagger, my dagger, plunged into his chest. Shadows lick his face, a ruby stained memory of what was once human. His lifeless green eyes pierce through the sea of red. I bend down and rip the dagger out of his heart. Glancing over at his face one last time, thinking of all the pain and misery he’s caused to this world. Those lives he took, innocent and weak. No more lives shall be slain by his hand. A wave of emotion swept over me; trying to blink back tears I saw what I had hoped to never see again. I was in front of my home, whole and not burned to ashes, my mom and dad bustling around the yard tending to the garden. I was under the shade of our tree reading my favorite book again. The vibrant colors of the vegetables and the flowers stood out against the pale yellow house. It’s all too cheery for my liking, now that I knew what was going to happen. I counted down the seconds until he showed up. 5…4…3…2…1… whoosh! The house went up in bright orange flames. I jumped in my spot stunned from the sudden fire. After a few minutes of shock the flames parted and a man stepped through them. He was tall and lanky; he wore a black fedora and a leather coat. The hat was pulled down too low for her to clarify his facial features, but his dark blond hair stuck out from under his hat tied up into a small ponytail. Almost instinctively I climbed up the tree using the branches as stairs. Through the leaves I saw the man pull out a long sword, I looked away not wanting to see what happened next. That terrible scream filled my ears again, my mothers scream as he ended her life. I dared to take a peek to see my father trying to fight the man, only to end with a sickening gurgling sound emitting from my fathers mouth. He slumped to the ground and the man slid his sword out from his gut. I had no more family, my possessions gone; all that was left of my house was a pile of ash sitting in a huge hole. I swore on that day to find the man and make him pay for what he did. Slowly the day’s started to pass soon weeks sped by months flew out of sight, and now finally after three years of searching, the deed was done. I could finally breath knowing that the killer was no more.

Dear Derek Landy,
Might I begin this letter by saying how much I respect you and love the Skulduggery series (books 1-3)(maybe even 4)and believe you have so much potential to be an amazing writer. Good, I expect you have figured that this is not a letter of praise so here comes the contradiction to the above sentence: Chill out with the violence and blood. seriously. Mortal Coil cahnged my life for the better: It made me very sensitive to violence and blood. It scared me to think of val's life going down the drain like that, along with the lives of others. And so I ask: Why do you do this?
No matter what your reason, I do hope that you can fix the problems mentioned here before the 6th book is published. Now I am not asking you to transform the new book into chick lit - I cant stand that - but maybe tone down the blood and gore a bit.

i'm starting to really pissy at my friend because she moved away a few months ago and she had my faceless ones with her >:O
now i'm trying to get a hold of her so we can hang out and i can get my book back
oooh thats bad too i lent one of my other books *not any SP book i can NEVER let go of them* to a friend in camp...yeah she never showed up after that day took the book with her now im missing the first book to the Ttyl series
but it sucks way more if its SP i only loaned them to my brother and even then i would NEVER let him take them out of the house or ANYWHERE i freaked out in school cus i knew he had one of them and i was afraid he would rip a page or bend a corner or something like that i wouldnt have let him borrow it but my parents made me :/
i just back my crescendo book from my friend today who i had gotten mad at as soon as i had let her borrow it and i told her to return it because i didn't want her having my property and she wouldn't until she was done, which meant she had to read several other books before she even started on mine

yeah, the reason i was mad at her in the first place was because while she was at my house she tried to steal from us (but my brother caught her before she left, she was trying to steal pens). and at first it didn't even register until we got back home from dropping her off and i realized how bad it was. and i told her that she needed to apologize and she said she didn't know what she did wrong and she only stole them because she needed them. it doesn't matter that they were pens or money, the fact was that she came into our home and tried to take advantage of us

Arghhhhh now mine will start collapsing do you know how much I love these book ls I've told sooooooooo many people about them and they've read them and now are as onward as me about them!!!! Arch noooo that's like seven more months my friend and I were counting down there were only twenty somethk g days left until April first!!!!!!! Grrrrrrr another six more months to wait !!!!!!!
