I know we have a few minions in New Zealand who read this blog, and certainly one or two in Christchurch. Could you take a few moments to write a short comment, just to let us know you're all right after the quake?

My heart goes out to the many families affected by these earthquakes, especially the families of the two Irish people who perished in the tragedy.

I live in Auckland but grew up in Christchurch, its terrible to hear about so many deaths and ancient buildings collapsing.
So far 71 deaths, 300 people missing and no one was found over night.
About 220 people treated for serious injuries.
“A lot of broken bones, spinal injuries, head and neck trauma and overnight a couple of amputations as well.”
Christchurch have suffered hundreds of aftershocks since the initial 6.3 shock, bringing down more debris.
Stay strong Christchurch!
i am not from new zealand but i know someone who has family and friends there. their family are luckily alright as they are in the north but they havnt heard from one of their best friends who lives in the south ... hopefully they're alright
I'm from New Zealand, not from Christchurch and I'm fortunate that none of my family live there either so none are injured or homeless.
The Red Cross is accepting donations for the Earthquake Appeal if anyone would like to help. www.redcross.org.nz
And according to the TV3 website UK Vodafone customers can now give £5 to NZ by texting NZQUAKE to 70801. Vodafone will donate an extra £1 for each txt.
Currently 98 deaths now :(

this is just sad i know my post on okay blog thing that Derek posted was pretty heavy with the big possibility that my friends are trapped and my best friend dieing in the quake in a horrible death and i know i probably posted it on the wrong one since i sorta am involved especially now since my friend died and friends who could be trapped so sorry about that, its there if anyone wants to read my sorrow... i hope my friends aren't added to the death list its already at 92 and climbing last night i think Japanese exchange students were rescued and a 52 year old man had to get his legs amputated while getting rescued.
everyone is tired which is really good well the fact that they aren't going off and doing something else john key and bob parker are being really good doing more then their best helping christchurch. it was quite cool when john told the government what had just happened in chirstchurch it showed just how fast news travels and how much they all care.
two babys have also been added to the death list that must really suck for the parents losing their kids. there is a lot of liquefaction on the roads a car was lodged maybe 9 cm into the liquefaction there are large areas where liquefaction is really the only thing you can see of the ground. its really weird only being 4 hours away and watching places that i knew and loved destroyed.
its awesome to see neighbors helping each other and that the cites power is coming back on still to bad about the water issue but at least they've started to use the cites water supplies that are under the ground. i love hearing countrys offering their help i dont like that there was an earthquake for them to help in but its really nice of them and generous to send over their troops and dogs.

Every lifless body they pull out of that rubble is one to many.
I may not live in new zealand and so I know this hasn't effected me as badly as some on this blog but I have lost an uncle to cimilar curcumstances. I just donated £5 to the red cross, I know it isn't much but I can only hope it can be put to good use.
R.I.P to the dead and lets hope that the missing people will turn up relativly unharmed
News on Christchurch.
Over 220 people still missing. There are still after shocks coming in and they are making damaged buildings liable to collapse. The sewage is mixing with the water making it un drinkable. The power is returning but there is a shortage of petrol.
... Derek, you should block these people from your blog. They have bloody conversations on here when 113 people have died, and whoever put "plays dramatic/sad music" ... do you honestly think that's actually being sympathetic? You are making fun of a tragedy.

As I live Australia, I probably hear the most amount of news (minus NZ itself, of course).
As Darkane has said, over 200 people are still missing, with 113 confirmed deaths. Electricity has been replaced to 3 quarters of the city and water has been replaced to about 40% of it. So far, I think around 200, possibly more, Australian police officers have arrived in NZ to help.
I'd like to tell you more, but they haven't released much new information.

We write because we enjoy taking different views on what Derek Landy has written because he is an amazing author. If he minded us chatting on here he would have told To now wouldn't he? We DO care about what happened in New Zealand so don't you even think for a second that we don't, I have read many blogs wishing them the best and hoping and praying for them. 1.) I really hope All the rest of the survivors in NZ are okay. And that they find them quickly. Were all looking out for you new zealanders! We care!!!
2.) i am impressed Kallista. I wouldnt have acveoted the forfiveness. Then again i never agree that easily.

Believe it or not, you're all friends here, even when you argue. You post here because you like some of the same things, which gives you something in common, which gives you something to talk about, which in turn gives you lots of other things to talk about.
Arguments happen. You might not agree with someone else's opinion or tactics. You might get angry because of a sarcastic comment. Hey, I love sarcasm. It's a woefully underrated form of humour- and if you like Skulduggery, then you like sarcasm too.
I honestly don't care that some of you are arguing. I'd rather not see it, but it doesn't concern me. You know why? Because you're all friends, every single one of you who posts here, and friends fight.
Yes, these comment sections tend to wander into rambling conversations after the first few hundred posts, but the only thing that would have concerned me is if there had been anyone who just simply didn't care about the NZ quake. But there was none of that. Everyone here cared, everyone here was worried. That's something else you have in common.
Thank you for saying that, Derek. Everyone here is united through Skulduggery and this post was about reaching out to those of us who live in Christchurch or who know people who do, to make sure they're okay.
I know a lot of you like to RP through the blog comments, and that's okay. My only problem would be that the blog might reach the maximum amount of comments. So long as there's still space for those in NZ to get in touch, it's okay.

Hi I'm from Christchurch. It was terrifying. I'm only 13 and I was in the school canteen which is 3/4 glass. The whole canteen was shaking and the glass was making really horrible noises an I was thinking "Woah, this is not one to add to the 4000 and something aftershocks we've had". They've been talking about another fault called the Alpine one, so most of us thought that had finnaly blown as it is about 180 years overdue. Everyone was crying and screaming as everything was falling over. Never want to go through that again. I've been reading all my Skulduggery Books trying to get away from reality for a while.My house and family are fine. I feel for the people that have come off worse than me.

I am from New Zealand but I am from Auckland, not Christchurch. I am okay, but I have family in Christchurch who have lost their homes and possessions, and they will never get them back.
Loads of people have died, and the death count is constantly rising.
We are still constantly fundraising to help Christchurch but it never seems to be enough.
I thank you, Derek Landy, for being concerned for the people in Christchurch, for it means so much to me, as someone who has nearly lost many of my family members in the catastrophe.
