Demon Road Book 3 Will Be...
With Desolation only a few days away, I am still hard at work on the third and final Demon Road book.
From the beginning, I wanted these books to be as streamlined as possible — I wanted them short and punchy. Now, I completely failed with Demon Road, as it was a pretty big book, and only got slightly better with Desolation, which is shorter, but it looks like I'm finally getting the hang of this with Book 3, which will hopefully be the perfect length.
And the title?

Hi Kas! It's nice to meet you :)
Ohhh of course, that sounds like something I would guess but I do remember it. :P
@Kes Aww, what's poor Derek done (Apart from that. And that. And Tanith's book. And those.) to hurt you???
KESSSIEEEE!!!!!! Hi!!!!! How are you??
Thank you, Lav! My mom and I made it together. :-)
I still have it because when Dugglyn and I meet IRL, we're going to have a Madame Mist-off. [nods]
@Kes That's understandable. Do what you need to do.
KES
I ONLY HAVE ONE HOUR OF DANCE TODAY RATHER THAN FIVE
SO MY FEET KINDA GET A BREAK
*is tacklehugged*
Well maybe it's the profile pic.
*nodsnods*
*blames the pic*
BUT HI KES!!! HOW'VE YOU BEEN?
And how about throwback to three/four years ago? XD
I AM NOT A ROBOT YOU -insert clever insult here because my mind is drawing a blank right now-!!!
@Fabi OMG you all look amazing there c:
Eve, nice to meet you, too! :)
@Lav Try "beetle-headed child of a half-cooked omelette." [nods]
@Tia: Well. Um. This involves spoilers from Desolation so, like, you've been warned.
We've got extreme use of the predatory lesbian trope, sexualizing a lesbian relationship between a sixteen year old and an at-least-twenty-year-old (which is ILLEGAL as well as fucked up), showing an emotionally abusive relationship as totally fine, and refusing to acknowledge anyone who's trying to educate him on why all of the above is bad. Except Becky. He responded to Becky in order to tell her she was overreacting. Basically, I'm fucking tired of my queerness being shown as negative and inherently predatory and sexual, and I'm tired of people whom I trusted and respected (Derek) exploiting us.
EEEEEEEVEEEEEE: I am GOOD how are YOU?
LAV: I'd say it's more that I didn't bother seeing who was here before I came in, but. Sure. Let's blame the profile pic. *nods*
Seriously though I can't believe the last of those was three years ago. Damn. I've been really good lately how about you?
FABI: NICE how'd that happen?
@Kes Haven't started that book yet (EEEVEEE) but that does sound pretty bad. Maybe it's meant to sound bad? I mean, there are a lot of bad characters in Derek's books???
Becky???
Tia: Nah, pal, it's the main relationship, and he's defended it (in a DM to Becky.). I'm still gonna read American Monsters just in case, but. Ugh.
Tia: Becky (@shitnerd on Twitter) used to be one of the, like, big name fans I guess? If that makes sense? She and Derek were friends-ish and she went to all the signings and ran(runs?) the Facebook page.
There's a relationship in Desolation? Spoilers? Do I have to read the book now?
AH ok I know that Becky I just wondered if I forgot something since I only read Demon Road in September and don't remember it that well :/
I mentioned that I lived in the Seattle area and she invited me?
... And that's why I'm not going to read the Demon Road trilogy. I've heard enough on Twitter and stuff. I don't need to subject myself to that.
@Tia: I did...warn for spoilers...But idk. If you read it, borrow it instead of buying it, if you can.
@Everyone: Sorry about this, I wasn't even planning to bring it up but. Uh. I Am Full Of Anger And It Can Not Be Contained
Kas-- you want spoilers, take it to email.
I'm presuming the lack of spoiler post is because Derek doesn't want a spot for all the "Dude, this is unacceptable" comments.
:/
What went wrong? Skulduggery Pleasant was such a good series. And Demon Road, I didn't really like, and now this... Is it really that bad? Will I be as disappointed as you or Becky? :/
I'm great, Fabi! Wow, I wasn't expecting to have actual Real Lesbians in his book honestly haha. I wasn't a fan of Demon Road so I wasn't planning on reading this one, but maybe I should just to see what the deal is. I know he's trying to support the LGBT readers, and we've seen it late in Skulduggery, but yeah I'm not sure if his efforts can be praised as they are now, you know? The whole thing with the Scapegrace and Thrasher body-swap was really weird, but obvious. I'd have to see for myself how the relationship you're speaking of plays out in the book...
*hugs Kes*
Then, if you're avoiding all things Derek, can I have your email? I'd like to talk with you sometimes. Cause I miss you.
*mutters to the Robots*
Beetle-headed children of a half cooked omelette. -_-
@Kes: I've been good. Would be better if the robots stopped attacking my iPod. And I can't believe it either. Slow and fast. *nodsnods, talking about something she'd already said previously*
@Kes I went to London for Desolation signing and met Derek for the first time so I have Desolation already.
@Fabi: Yeah, that's what I'm guessing, too. I mean, I HOPE he's better than that and that he's just really busy but.
@Tia: I know, I loved SP so so so so so much and I really liked Demon Road too? And I don't know. Becky and I and others are mostly hurt because, hey, we're the demographic being stereotyped and sexualized and exploited. But.
*mumbles*
Didn't read Deamon Road, but I'll obviously like the SP books way better.
*nodsnods*
*still hasn't read the last three though*
*also curses for being utterly slow in the comments*
Is it at least in character? I mean, you know, it IS a horror story.
@Eve: Yeah, I know, right? Actual Real Lesbians. It's a miracle. Yeah, I get that.
@Lav: Yeah, of course! It's kestrellestarre@gmail.com. I miss you too :(
Damn robots. Always coming in and attacking things.
@Tia: Oh, okay. Yeah, you might as well read it, if you want to. For all I know I'm overreacting and it's actually really good.
Sorry to come in and kill the mood lmao.
Because honestly Amber doesn't feel in character all the time in Demon Road, which is something that I never felt in SP.
@Tia: I haven't finished yet.
Mmm
All of my spare time is taken up by EVE Online, playing with friiiiends.
But I will make some time and read it by Sunday.
Then again, I want to read the Demon Road again, that's why I never started with Desolation. :/
@Tia: Yeah, I...agree. And I guess some of that has to do with learning to write a new main character after eight years with Val, but, yeah.
Anyway, having come in and derailed the conversation and started the Discourse, I now have to go because I'm going out with my grandparents. I love and miss all of you (even those I don't particularly like)(that's a joke)(I like you all) and please please please email me. Peace
Hey Kes, obviously you don't have to do this, but if you have the time could you possibly email me about what the relationship is in this book? I've just decided I'm not going to read the book but I'd still like to know what's going on with that part at least. I'm not sure if spoilers are appropriate here but I'd like them :P
My email: evej@outlook.com
*thanks Kes, and will like to add that she didn't kill the mood*
*however, due to the robots, I'm deciding to just ghost for a bit*
*sorry*
Lol nevermind. Bye Kessie!!! It was great seeing you <3
Bai, Kes!
And, please email me, too, same as Eve? I wanna know since it'll be over a week since I can get to Desolation.
*bye Kes*
*hugshhugshugs*
*will email sometimes*
(apparently conversing about Derek Landy's novels on Derek Landy's blog is derailing the conversation hahahahahah)
But yeah, Amber was the problem I had with Demon Road. Boring and annoying at times. And there was another older man/younger girl relationship. Like, we're starting THAT again? Anyway, I just didn't feel attached to anyone by the end and he killed all the characters who had potential to be liked.
Yeah.... whatshisname was really just another shot at a Skulduggery....he's a good guy with a dark past and he's also super powerful and loves his car....the throwback no one asked for
I emailed both of you the link to a very detailed review that talks about what's wrong with Desolation.
Thank you Fabi!!! Kess said she'd email too when she finishes reading, but I have a feeling all our opinions are going to be basically the same.
You're making me want to read the books now, why would you do this to me?
Okay, will read ASAP to see what's what and judge it then.
COMMENT NOT POSTING PURGE PURGE PURGE EXTERMINATUS
It's the robots :/
Bump
Yeah...
Just yeah...
I probably need to get breakfast now.

Oh, for fuck's sake.....
Just read the review. Definitely not reading the book. I'm reminded of when everyone was badgering Derek about Skulduggery: 'We're all older now! You can make it as bad as you want, just bump up the age restriction!!'
I guess this is what happens when Derek isn't writing for younger groups. And the sad thing is, while I'm horrified by the stuff detailed in that review, it's not even surprising when you think about it. This is Landy's taste. I'm so off it...
Right I wasn't planning on reading the books unless it sort of happened sometime but I've decided that I simply MUST now so I can argue with you about it. :P
I might disappear.
Ooh, do you have headphones or earphones, Hope?
^by "you" I mean "people" abd by "argue" I mean "debate"
And I think Lizzie says "dude" either because of her brother or because of Supernatural or because of being fairly American (for a Brit) or because of some similar reason or because of some combination thereof.
And hear, hear. :)
*wanders off to check the price of demon road on Google Play*
Hey, Star!
Yeah, I... decided I'd rather read the book and see what's what. I'll skip the Demon Road re-read.
@Hope I have a video full of people getting angry at each other in EVE, and a video of TEST Alliance's Fleet Commander in action. I'm not sure which video is worse.
I was actually hoping Amber would be written as gay in the first one (that is until I discovered she had no personality)...careful what you wish for, right? This is awful. But it's common among pop YA writers, isn't it? You either forget queers exist or you fuck it up. We need more gay editors, I think.
Obviously not the only thing I see wrong with the novel, but Landy might be making it personal there.
*discovers I can't do that on school wifi and wanders back*
Hear hear, Fabi! That's some interesting formatting...
I have earphones. Why, Kas?
*might also not read the Demon Road trilogy for the fact that I want Derek to remain a good author in my eyes*
*someone who adds cameos of his fans in the books*
*waves to Star*
I honestly can't judge the book until I've read it. I imagine when I read it I'll either be angry at Kes, angry at Landy, or sigh and be like "what are life".
Hi Star! Yeah the only thing tempting me to read it is so I have a better reason to hate the whole thing. XD
But it would be torture to read. Zaf sent me a review of it, which goes into a lot of detail, if you wanted to read that instead?
@Eve Derek's already finished Demon Road book 3, so we're either getting Skulduggery Pleasant: The Movie or a new book series that's hopefully better than Demon Road.
*has basically been unable to read any of that because of the spoilers..I remember when Val and I hung out. That video is still on YouTube
(EVE! It is Chloe G here!)
Normally I'd have the same 'don't judge until you read' attitude, but particular things....not something that can be interpreted too differently by others.
*misses more comments due to lateness*
Also, hear hear, Moss. :)
*might have to check videos later, Kas, if you're planning to send me links*
*might also head out early cause blogger is being annoying*
-_-
@Hope Because swearing in both the videos I'm considering linking.
Hello, Chloe!
Kas: Yes, really needing that SP movie right now. God damn we've been waiting long.
CHLOE G!!!! *hugssss* Hi!!
@Eve: No, I'd rather read the book itself. Might take me a while though. I've got my AS exams in three weeks so I'm a bit up to my ears.
I want to read Fifty Shades for the same reason but I haven't because revision. Also because I'd have to like give money to the author and myeh do I want to do that? XD
@Noelle I remember that! I'd just got my wisdom teeth out, and I was extremely jealous that you two got to meet up and have fun and I got to sit on the sofa being miserable.
@Eve Did Zaf send you a review too? Or are you confusing me with her?
@Kas Yeah, the formatting just sort of felt right...
(*hugs* I've missed you eve!!!
Hey guys!)
Hello Chloe!
...
I'm terrible at this whole "get your butt out of bed, Fabi" thing.
*wonders why headphones or earphones are important*
And no offense to anyone, but because of robots, I'm not going to be replying to every comment I see.
However, there are exceptions.
*waves to Chloe in greeting*
(I mean, Fabi sent the review. Lol)
Ooh, good luck on those Star! Fifty Shades, hahaha...From the excerpts I've read, not only is a godawful book, it's not even impressive for a fanfic. :P
Sorry Fabi! I meant you. Thank you for it :D
(*eats tea an biscuits*)
I'd rather read Twilight fanfiction than Fifty Shades XD
@Hope Well, if your family is okay with random swearing?
@Robots stop discriminating.
*Probably can't get angry with Derek*
*It irks her when people are hurtful to Derek and Laura*
*still a little confused*
Are you meaning to say it's going to be /loud/, Kas? I'm okay with swearing, even if I don't like to swear personally(not in the really bad swearing kind of way anyway), but if it's going to be loud, I can wait until later...
*thinks Derek and Laura are still good people*
*remembering how he takes time for his fans and adds them into his books as cameos(or in Zaf's case, as a minor character that he can have revenge on for always blowing up Ireland)*
@Eve: Cat watched it though and she said it was cleverly done in some ways so I'm curious
Fifty Shades is something I'd muchly like to intellectly discuss so I think imma read it once exams have started XD
@Noelle: :( I understand that
*Nod*
I've talked to Laura a lot- I've known her for, what... Five, six years now? Long before this all happened. And she has told me about the stuff that people will stay to her on the Internet... It's just terrible.
@Noelle: :/
Well, a lot of people have justified reasons to be upset with Derek right now, but as far as I'm aware, Laura's done nothing wrong. It sucks that people are bringing her into it.
I genuinely think Derek had good intetions with the novel. Most authors do. I don't think anyone regards him differently as a person, but mistakes can't be ignored and it looks like people were really hurt by some of the stuff in the book so hopefully that doesn't happen again.
Really? Everyone I know who watch 50shades thought the chemistry and dialogue was out-of-this-world bad and it needed more porn. :P
^thats what I meant, Fabi, and Eve. What Fabi said.
If there are general poor reactions to the book, well, Derek is an adult, and he is a public figure. He is used to criticism. It just upsets me when Laura is brought into it
Man, I don't even know Laura. I heard about when they started dating and everyone was mad because she was a fan or because of the age gap... I hate when people try to have opinions on someone's personal life. Unfortunately it doesn't just happen to celebrities.
Yeah, I've got no issues with Laura. As far as I know, none of this is her fault.
(Also, Star, I'll be happy to debate with you when we both finish if you have different opinions. You're someone I can actually discuss this stuff with without getting TOO angry.)
*nods*
She is just one of the kindest people I have ever met. We first met on Fanfiction, where she and I wrote stories there. I knew her long before I ever came on here..
Hey, Adra, btw! Long time no see
I don't think it's at all fair to bring Laura into it if people are mad at Derek.
@Eve: Cat says it was really quite clever in that by the end of it you actually wanted Ana to go back and be with whatshisface (there are so many variations on his type of name I can never Reem bet which version he is).
I mean I said people probably liked it for the BDSM and she said it wasn't because of that it was because it was clever.
@Kes: :) Thank you. I'll come and speak to you after I've read it.
My, how many people seem to have suddenly returned. Hello.
OH!
Hi Kes!!
-sorry, had been ghosting for a while, I forgot to say hi!- How are you, dove?
Friends, I composed something for my music theory class... I love it. Is anyone interested in hearing it? I may post it to my blog in a bit
What's with the technophobia here? Robots are people too, you know?
(Hey, Noelle! Oh, idk who Laura is so idk why people are even dragging her into this and serisously, people are dragging her into this?????)
I like the new profile pic, Kas!
Laura is Derek's girlfriend
(Hello, Alastair!)
I'd love to hear it, Noelle!
Hello, Alastair.
Adra: Dw about it, babe. I'm really good, despite all evidence to the contrary *gestures at last hundred comments* I spent eight hours with my girlfriend and our friend yesterday, marathoning Star Wars Episodes 4-7. It was great. How about you? What's up?
And I'd love to hear it!
(Thanks, Noelle! Not sure whether I'll keep it, I didn't really look around for a pic but chose the first one I saw that was properly cropped like a square. And I don't get why Laura would get the Derek hate? :/)
Huh...I guess I've never really wanted any two characters to get back together, personally. Especially with this kind. I mean, I know it's BDSM-themed, but you're probably supposed to be doing that with someone who respects you and doesn't start regulating your meals and alcohol intake before you've even signed the damn contract. I would like to believe there was some intelligent storytelling there, but it was a fanfic. EL wrote it because Edward and Bella are hot together. Anyway, you should read it and tell me your thoughts. :P
Hi Alastair and Kas!
(Oh and I forgot about the comment earlier, sure, I'd like to hear it!)
{@Eve Hi! Do you play EVE?)
(Kessie!!!!!! )
@Kas I sure don't! But I know about it, since I like to google my name every once in a while. :P
I am a robot.
(I love helping nan with crosswords! )
(*tacklecuddles Kessy!!!*)
(Hello Jai ^.^)
(@Chloe I suck at crosswords! XD But I used to do the same.)
(Hey, Jai! :)
I'm glad that the two of you had fun, and Star Wars is certainly an excellent date choice.
I'm alright, trying to study, trying to get more scholarships for University (thoguh I submitted my housing application today!)
And playing on my flutes :)
*goes to Hamlet, and gives him a little kiss*
@Kes: Because Laura is younger than Derek. Not one or two years younger, a bit more- however, they are both consenting and legal adults, and they are really in love. People are just being pushy because Laura and Derek don't fit the norm.
Hey Chloe!!
*is tacklecuddled* STORM
HI
(Oh, gtg for a bit. See you guys later!)
@Friends: I will try to move to Youtube to upload
(I like em ^.^
I remember in English once my teacher did one online and asked us to help
One of the words no one got apart from me so I said it, but it was too quiet, but the guy in front of me heard me and said it -_-)
And...I've got to go again. Ugh.
@Eve: That's the controversy - many BDSM fans are mad at her bevause of her shitty portrayAl of it
however, Cat said in the movie she asked for it. I mean literally asked for it. Not figuratively asked for it. Either way, I'll have to read it.
And you see, I have this shipping emotion that kicks on on occasion, and by "on occasion" I mean "approximately once per year," but when my shipping emotion kicks in I muchly want the people I'm shipping to be together. Like it makes me happy if when it seems they might get together and if they like fall out its like "*distressed face*". However my shipping emotion tends to rather weird me out when it occurs bevause the rest of the time I usually don't really care whether people are together or not.
Bye Friends!
And yeah, that horrendous book...
Not even close to what actually happens
@Noelle: I hate it when people are judgemental about things consensual adults do that make both said consensual adults happy . . .
My phone doesn't like the word "consensual"
apparently no one has taught my phone about consent yet :P
(How is everyone?
YouTube... If I start YouTube in uni later this year, will you guys check my first video out?)
(Hi Kas and Chloe.
Nuhhhh. Kessy!!! Stay!!!)
@Chloe: If you tell me to. :)
Bye Kas and Kes!
Yeah I did hear about that. Those people already get so misunderstood and judged, don't need a popular book making it worse. But I think the actual thing that made it a bad portrayal of BDSM was that Ana didn't really have a say. Like, she was subtly manipulated and harassed into entering the BDSM relationship and that's what made it so bad. Which means it doesn't sound very ship-able. :P
Yeah, I don't ship much either! Although I do ship the fox and rabbit from Zootopia. It was weird because I saw the trailer and thought 'they better not get together' because of the cliche, but after seeing the movie....they have great chemistry. But for the most part I don't have many feelings about movie/book/tv relationships because it's mostly man/woman and well...I just don't get it, you know? :P
However, China and Skulduggery will forever be my biggest ship and I'm so happy it was touched on in the 8th. XD Who's your OTP Star?
Sure Chloe!
(Thanks Star *.^
I ship the bunny and the fox too! I haven't seen it yet XD )
(Thanks Eve ^.^
I have to get used to my voice, I hate it XD )
(May I say Eve, you're pwetty ^.^)
You will ship them so much Chloe it was actually so good. I was actual kind of shocked that there would be this much sexual tension in a Disney movie. I was like 'How can there be children here witnessing all this lustful banter and highly suggestive physical interactions?!'
It's like so good though
Aww thanks Chloe :D Show us your face someday!
Hi Keiron!
:( Did my comment not post?
https://youtu.be/waA_Qpxrl8k
This is my composition for class
(*changes pic*
I can't wait to see it!!)
Oh!
And also, this is not the final version, either. I'm thinking of working more on it, so that I may enter it into a scholarship competition in late May. I'll have to add about two more minutes to the song. Were the repeats actually working, the song itself would be 90 seconds. As it happens, though, Finale notepad is incompetent.
When I return to school tomorrow, I will try to download the finished version onto my computer. Our teacher had us go through and do the finishing touches on the school version of Finale...
Urgh.
:( I'm not a robot! Why is there doubt, after five years?
(I listened Noelle, it's amazing!
It doubts me at times too :-()
I'm gonna watch it when I get off the bus so I can actually hear it.
And yeah, I'm not fond of Finale. I prefer MuseScore, which has more glitches, but you can also do more with it.
As I recall though, there's some hidden setting where you can have it repeat on playback? It's been a while since I used it though, so I may be mistaken.
:) Thanks!
Yes, the competition is worth 5,000$. Which is, like, a lot. And much needed :)
And I know- Blogger chooses the strangest times...
@Eve: Cat said that's WHY it was clever that you wanted them to end up together.
I haven't seen Zootopia
I've worked out that my
*loses ability to speak*
*stays into space a bit*
Hang on. This happens on occasion.
Um . . .
Shipping emotion. Kicks in. Close. Situations.
Yeah I tend to ship people if some combination of the following (often less than four but always more than one) happens
a) I like them
b) I feel quite close to the characters (can get inside their heads)
c) it's written/acted well
d) I like the situation emotionally (I like secondhand experiencing the emotions in that particular situation)
Also it's weird because I've been really not keen on romance for the past year or so (I mean, there's been a "get away from me" emotion) but now that's not so strong so all my emotional reactions to everything have changed a bit and I can't judge where I am with things very well.
Sorry. I did warn you I was overly analytical.
I don't have an OTP, really. I don't really have absolute favourites. I don't have a favourite food or a favour animal or a favourite . . . okay well I DO have a favourite colour now but that took me years.
However, most recent ship has been Dan and Carrie from the roleplay I'm doing with my friends. Bevause like. Dude. Like. Dan is like the most awesome person ever but when it comes to emotions he's really incompetent bevause he doesn't understand any of what he feels (that's all emotions btw), and he can't actually ask her out bevause he doesn't even know how to. And then Carrie's like the nicest human being you will ever meet. And like Dan killed Carrie's brother and Carrie's like forgiven him bevause she's like that, she's so nice she's an idiot because she prioritises being nice over being sensible and if you tell her to trust you she will even if she thinks you're wrong, but Dan feels really really guilty over killing him bevause he's afraid that it upset Carrie, even though her brother was a total dickhead who needed to die and Carrie's kinda got over it anyway. And I just want Dan and Carrie to go like open a pub, and I want Dan's best friend Nick who's like sixteen to like live with them (because Nick has a shit life and Dan keeps telling Nick that he's got a spare room set aside for him and he can live with him. I platonically ship Dan and Nick very much) and Carrie can like serve drinks and be nice and Dan can like pop up every so now and then and drink vodka and start shooting people if there's any trouble.
But that won't happen bevause Carrie sold her soul bevause she's an idiot so she'll die in a few days and Dan's upset over it but he doesn't know how to deal with his emotions so he just keeps getting angry and telling Carrie he hates her and that she'll be better off dead and keeps shooting her and whatnot and so Carrie's like upset bevause she was only trying to be nice by selling her soul but it's like upset everyone and she feels bad about it.
But you know.
*shuffles off to stop ranting and be productive*
*started reading Demon Road btw*
(you are so talented Noelle !)
MuseScore? I'm not familiar with that program...
Well, this is Finale Notepad, like, 2008. So not only is it not the most up to date version, but it is neither the full version. The full version is quite a few hundred dollars, and this was about fifteen or so. I don't remember what my teacher said.
And, I can put the repeat at the end of the measure, and I can configure the settings in the full version, just not the short version. Which is why I may try to record tomorrow at school.
@Chloe: :) Yes she is.
(I'm so envious of people who can do music
I want to try electric guitar but I'm not allowed :-(
I tried flute for a year but the teacher was horrible..)
@Noelle: :) It's beautiful.
Star, I don't know how you can keep up with all of it.
*thanks friends* I'm quite proud of this one...
This is why Music & Comp. is my favorite class, beside Christian Life. So much fun... So relaxing... Music..
It's too bad my school didn't offer the Music Theory AP. After fourteen years of piano, I feel confident that I would have gotten a 5.
>.< *keeps forgetting to hit the "robot" button*
I literally just typed this sentence ^^^ and forgot to hit it again.
@Chloe: Haha, I was literally just about to say "I wish I could do musical stuff"
It's okay though
We all have our own talents so I'm alright with not being musically talented
It means I get to talk about not being musically talented whenever I'm ranting about how we all have our own talents :P
(I think I'm gonna stick with lau gar Kung fu)
@Noelle: All of what?
*honestly asking. It's hard when you're a very confused being and autocorrect suggests "confused" to you after you type "*looks" because you keep having to disrupt conversation flow by asking questions and it's annoying on both ends. :P*
All of the roleplay, I meant. And the OTP.
And it is okay, music is... Well, it is creative. And everyone has different ways of being creative. Some people like to draw and paint (regardless of if they do it well, it's enjoyable), some people like music. Some people like to garden, or dance, or sing, or do theatre, or write, or cook, or build (like, architecture, or design games or something), some people like to make clothes, some like to silversmith or shape and polish rocks.
There are many ways to be creative.
The Ego of Star: She ships figments of her own imagination.
:P Honestly though I agree! I like to make up stories in my head and always end up shipping my characters together before I get distracted. That's really impressive that you and your friends have come up with a whole thing. Which character do you play?
(That is true Noelle ^.^)
*nod*
When people talk about the Arts, they talk about writing, or painting, or theater, or music. But I mean, isn't art anything that you put your love and creativity into?
Hm. That's odd. I had a version that came free with a set of music books, so it was almost definitely the cheaper version, but it was probably a different year.
(That is true ^.^
*the don't hug me I'm scared video comes into my mind when creativity is mentioned*
*oh no*
*shudders*)
(Sounds ace Noelle :)
I kinda wanna see zootropolis, but I might wait till my friend inevitably gets it on DVD.)
Hahahaha I don't know why it was called Zootropolis in Europe. Does it sound more euro than 'topia? :P
Also, NO JAI it is worth seeing at the cinema! Even with many babies around
(I wanna see civil war)
(I haz no money Eve xD)
(@Chloe I'm going to see that, friends are paying for me xD)
@Noelle: Well, I can manage it due to several things
a) I have no life
b) I only do about the same amount of schoolwork as the average human at the average school, and believe me, that does not seem to be a lot. Cat will just sit there and look across the common room and point out how eveyrone's like playing Go Fish or whatever. She's like "Do these people not CARE we have exams in three weeks?" (That's when she's not looking across the common room trying to work out who's a virgin and who isn't, which is apparently completely normal behaviour)
c) It's a priority for me
Like with reading books, I'm like "nope not allowed to do that anymore becayse schoolwork" but with roleplay it's like I have to do that because I trained my brain to prioritise this activity last summer and I haven't got rid of the programming yet
d) I also used to be awful at multitasking, but I trained myself to be able to roleplay whilst doing everything and now I can't work well WITHOUT multitasking, so it's quite natural for me to be online whilst doing other things. That's a bit of an issue really. I should probably re-teach myself to single task at some point.
@Eve: Dan and Carrie are both Cat's, but Nick is Lizzie's. We have, like, um,
*counts on fingers*
We usually have around ten main characters.
I like to main up stories in my head too, but I haven't ACTUALLY activated my shipping emotion yet. It's getting harder and harder to make up stories in my head as I get older, though . . . my imagination's been dying out for the past several years. Sigh.
It is very cool though. It's like we have our own little world with all these people that no one else knows about. Actually the last part's quite sad. It's like if you like a TV show you can recommend it to people, but if you like your own little story you're writing on WhatsApp, you can never truly introduce someone else to it. It does constantly bother me, that.
Um. Right. Should be working now.
*scurries off*
@Noelle: *nods muchly in agreement*
@Jai: :( Awww.
(My friend told a me what happens in the comics
My dog is licking my hand)
(Don't tell me!!!
Awwww. Cute doggy.)
*doesn't have money either* *Wanted to see Deadpool*
(My friend didn't like DEADPOOLS, to profanic for her
I enjoyed it)
(I thought deadpool was okay. A few things irritated me. One part of it was very awkward. One was slightly less awkward but still ish. Especially for my other two friends..
@chloe you busy?)
That's still productive work though. I wish I could prioritise my own hobbies....instead I just do nothing. Ten? That's definitely some good multi-tasking skills you've built up there. I can't multi-task for shit. Talking to you guys is the only thing I'm focusing on right now because more than one thing is impossible. XD
At least you've got each other! :)
(I be doing an essay later but I can rp ^.^)
(Okay :) *cuddles*)
Michael: *waiting for Alys to return*
Tresha: But those rules are stupid!
(*cuddles Jai*)
Alys: *comes back to the tree *
Flauros: we had to obey, no matter what
My mum went to see Deadpool and she said for the first half of it, the cinema was just silent with shock. My mum completely didn't understand why it wasn't an eighteen - she says it was really bad, and that she was really shocked because she hadn't eben expecting that from a 15-rated movie.
I haven't seen it.
@Eve: :(
I can't tend to handle more than two or three characters at a time, personally. Sometimes not even that. More than three is beyond me. XD
I'll be distant now - doing a past paper.
(*cuddles back*)
Michael: *looks at her as she enters*
Tresha: But.. You can't control love! What about if your love died? Then they wouldn't be on earth?
Alys: h hello *smiles*
Flauros; *shrugs* the rules are the rules
Michael: Hey. You catch anything?
Tresha: I mean is the love still forbidden if they live in heaven?
Alys: *holds up some rabbits*
Flauros: Angels can love other Angels... But not earthlings
I know what part you're talking about, I think, Silente.
Also, Star, you do have a life :) And it is a good one.
Sorry, I thought this posted!
Michael: Cool.
Tresha: So.. If a human dies and goes to heaven it's okay to love them?
Alys: do you like rabbit?
Flauros; yes, but you'd get kicked out of heaven long before the death of your loved one..
Michael: yeah. I'm not a fussy eater.
Tresha: Is that what happened to you? You fell in love so you were kicked out?
Alys: I'll sort o out food then *walks to the kitchen*
Flauros:... One of the reasons
Oh btw Chloe, I like your hair.
Deadpool's great...but it's not the kind of movie you should be critiquing, you know? It's about the fun of watching it with your mates. I was in packed cinema when I saw it and the energy was awesome. You just have to, like, get it.
Well, three is better than most people can do, Star! Well done XD
Michael: It's okay, I'll cook.
Tresha: *pushes herself up slightly*
So.. Somewhere on earth is the person you fell from heaven for..?
LOL Chloe I didn't realise you changed your picture! Nice face!
(Thank you Fab ^.^ I sometimes have pink in the blonde bits, but I'm going to try silver )
(@Eve I'm not critiquing, I just found the yuckiness scenes awkward and my friends found the club scene very awkward.)
(Thanks Eve ^.^!)
Alys: I couldn't a ask you t to do that..
Flauros; not anymore
Michael: You're already letting me sleep here Alys.
Tresha: What do you mean?
Alys; t your a guest,., you dot have to do t the work
Flauros: she got killed
Michael: I don't HAVE to. But I will
Tresha: Oh..
*sits up properly, looking at her hands*
That explains why you want to return to heaven so much..
@Sil: I think what she meant is that Deadpool isn't meant to be taken seriously, and it's just so stupid (in a good way) that to critique it would be almost redundant.
Something like that.
The movie made its point, and it accomplished its goal of making people uncomfortable.
I mean
Deadpool isn't Shakespeare, or Star Wars, or Schindler's List, or anything. It's just crass :P
Alys: *smiles* t thank you
Flauros: no... It's... I'm not in love with her... She doesn't even know me
@Noelle: :) Awwww thanks. :)
@Eve: My mum personally thinks it should have been rated 18. She didn't critique the film itself, but she did strongly critique the rating.
@Eve: XD Thanks. :) :) Although I still don't manage too well in all honesty. Struggling right this second. XD
Oh no I wasn't referring to your comment Jai! Sex scenes are always awkward ahahah. I'm more thinking about my other friends who saw and were all 'In my objective opinion this was a highly overrated film and I was thoroughly disappointed in this theatrical masterpiece I was promised' and I'm like 'and I get told I'M boring' :P
I feel much the same way about High School Musical and Sky High.
(True :)
Michael: You're welcome.
*smiles and takes the rabbits*
Tresha: You fell for her.
@Star: Oh for sure, although it can be argued that the rating wouldn't make a difference because someone actually took their nine-year-old to see it, thinking it would be a classic Marvel!
You can succeed! I believe! :P
Alys: *just stands there*
Flauros: :. I was a general in heaven.. I rarely got to go to earth. From heaven I noticed this woman, she was great... Kind and caring. I fell in love with her, though I never met her in person. I knew the rules, Noone could know my feelings. But she... She was involved in an incident and got killed.. I snapped and hated humans.. I came to earth and started going on a killing spree... Killing any human I came across
