The competition had nothing to do with me or Skulduggery — it was all to do with an educational video game designed to teach you maths and have, you know, actual fun while you do it. Incorporating historically accurate aspects of Native American tribal life and culture, the game was called Spirit Lake, and the competition was to find someone to become a character in it, using your name and likeness. Here's what I said about it at the time:
"And if this works like they hope it will, this could be the beginning of something huge. This could revolutionise teaching, and learning— not just in America but across the world— and it could be just the thing that's needed to help struggling students make that singular, all-important leap. This could change people's lives."
The competition was a great success. I got in some hilarious responses, and also some heartfelt ones, and while it was not easy to pick a winner, a winner I did pick.
And now I'm going to do it all over again.
These same awesome people — people who include the mother and sister of my personal (Twitter) friend, UFC champion Ronda Rousey* — have another game in development, called Forgotten Trail.
SO — if you like the idea of having a video game version of yourself teaching kids maths across America, give me your reasons why. In no more than thirty words, explain why you should win, and send your entries to skulteams@hotmail.com. You can enter as many times as you like, you can be any age, from any country, and the winner will be announced at the end of July.
Good luck!
* Yes, Ronda does count as a friend**.
** By friend I don't, of course, mean someone I've ever actually met, but that's not what's important here***.
*** What's important is that we're PALS. Some might say buddies. Kindred spirits, perhaps. I might even go so far as to say I've taught her everything she knows****.
**** I haven't ACTUALLY taught her everything she knows, but she knows that I would have, if ever I knew something that she didn't already know. Such as writing*****.
***** Although seeing as how Ronda's autobiography has made it to the New York Times bestseller list — a list I have yet to ACTUALLY grace — this probably isn't the best use of my, or her, time. But even so, I am sure there are PLENTY of things I could teach her. Though probably nothing useful or, you know, not-imaginary, like unicorn-taming, or yodelling******.
***** I'll shut up now.

I may not be able to read it right away though, anyways so...
Going to Canada tomorrow! :D
that's because the angles of refraction of the waves is probably at such an angle that trough-trough and crest-crest meets, forming lots of constructive waves that way, so the sound affect is better, also due to the waves coming from everywhere around you ^_^
hmm i see ^_^ what fruits do you like? :)
Okay, I guess I'll post it tonight then. Oh, Canada is a fun place. I went to a summer camp there last year, and it was completely epic. I took a 6 day canoe trip through Algonquin Park, and it was raining the entire time. It was freezing and wet and there were Mosquitos everywhere all the time and the bug spray broke and the tent flap was broken(so it was wet and there were Mosquitos) and a guide got sick but somehow I still managed to have a blast! I don't know how, I guess it was just great people and great new experiences
Here comes the Sun!!_
Didgeridoo
Here comes the sun and I say
It's all right
Deodorant
Oooh, cool! YeAh, we go every year! :D
violet: i thought you were being sarcastic for a sec there :P never been to any western places, like america or canada ^_^ in fact i've never been outside europe ^_^
Gtg, pie!!
bye dugglyn ^_^
Sarcastic about which part? That I had fun. No, I actually managed to have a ton of fun, despite the circumstances. It was great.
yeah, i thought you were being sarcastic about that, cuz you started saying all the bad conditions :D i hate mosquitos, almost as much as hay fever >.<
Bye Dugglyn!
in hungary there are billions and billions of them every year, and they are very aggressive and once they bit you everywhere you can't sleep, can't do anything without having to scratch yourself every 30 seconds >.<
Oh, at one point I had a minor mental breakdown about the mosquitoes. I would be carrying a tone of stuff and to swat at my legs I had to readjust all of this weight, and every time I swatted at my legs as soon as my hand left there were like seven more already there and I could actually feel them pricking me and sucking and there was mosquito blood in my hair and at night they would always buzz by my head as soon as I was almost asleep. That was definitely not a good part of the trip, but as a whole, somehow, it managed to be rather fun. :)
violet: haha, you complain about that one trip being like that, i had to live in those conditions for 13 years of my life in hungary XD :P Especially when we went camping with the boy scouts...holy shit...that was very unpleasant...cuz we went camping nearby a forest where there are lots of mosquitos because it's moist...but then, there was also the lake just right nearby us, and that's where the mosquito larvae hatch from....so yeah XD
Oh wow, well not ashamed to say I'm glad I never had to experience THAT
it's not a shame to say it XD I wouldn't CHOOSE to experience it XD and then, imagine me, with my hay fever, very VERY swollen and red eyes, that are very itchy, in the 45 degrees heat in the sun, while sweating, mosquitos biting me, THIRSTY...and this was just every second summer day for me for as long as i lived there :D THe UK summer is very merciful compared to it, very mild, and i like it ^_^ The sun doesn't shine enough to give you epithelial genetic disorder(skin cancer) and it's not too hot either, it's normal... I like the UK weather a lot :D
(hilo speghetti o's ...)
although, hay fever is still present here in the summer...still a lot better :D oh and i forgot to add, in the boy scouts...our leader wasn't like a really friendly person, he took it too seriously and we were in order like soldiers, i am not even kidding, we had to WORK all day, in the hot weather, while all the above listed conditions for present, and if we messed up anything he would shout at us and make up penalties and all that...fuckin XD
hey keiron :)
Well, idk, I am a weirdo that enjoys obnoxious amounts of heat, but I really have no reference for how hot that is, cuz for some reason the US decides to not do the metric system...
(just beack from recording... :P got a lot of editing to do tomoz :P
wubut? how's you?)
(just beack from recording... :P got a lot of editing to do tomoz :P
wubut? how's you?)
Oh wow, again, not too upset I didn't have to do that...
violet: that's around 113-130 Fahrenheit :D
keiron: one word-hay fever ^_^
Oh... Well that is really hot...
(I hate hayfever... I used to have to go to hospital for it sometimes when it was really bd, now I've got these pills that work reallly good )
yeah it goes up to that hot while in the sun in the summer, hungary...so yeha ^_^ and then obviously really cold in the winter... ^_^
keiron: are they called cetirizine? ^_^
keiron: I only had to go to the hospital once with it, when i first didn't know i had it and i just kept scratching my eye and it got so bad, that i couldn't actually see on one eye, and it was really itchy and swollen and red and inflated...
(dunno, don't much care tbh I just need to take one and it lasts a month ish.)
keiron: wow, it works really well for ya ^_^ No pills really work for me. They do ease it, but they don;t make it go away, and then i've got these eye-drops...which work pretty well but then again, not perfect ^_^
(the normal off the shelf ones only last a couple hours and get rid of most the distress but not all ... :( I think that's why I hate the outdoors... I want to live in a snowy country possibly sweden coz good internet... )
keiron: yeah i prefer snowy places as well ^_^ though, england is still a lot better than hungary XD Like in hungary, my hay fever would last for about 1/3 of the year or even more...here it only lasts about 7-8 weeks ^_^
(here in Scotland if the rain didn't help it's last a day or two lol :P )
yeah...my hay fever is kinda like one of the most extreme ones as well... so yeah XD
i mean i am glad to know that my immune system is functioning really well, but i'd rather it not try to get rid of something that is not a threat to begin with XD
(but it is a threat... that's is why we sneeze cry etc out body trys to rid it from our system as fast as possible...
think of it as getting a plant std :P )
(mines is bad too aka the month tablets...)
Woohoo, studied Spanish!
no, it's not m9 :P Think about it-pollens don't hurt you do they? They wouldn't be a threat, unlike pathogens...cuz they're not pathogens :D The immune system simply becomes hypersensitive to them-so you could so it's malfunctioning, but more like over-functioning :D
woooohoooo violet :D ^_^
*say it's malfunctioning ^_^
Yippee... I probably should study bio... I have some time tomorrow. I'll see if my friends would want to study with me
hehe ^_^ do u have any questions? what do you learn in bio anyways? :)
Uh...we learned a lot of things... Basically about all the human body systems and life processes and how they all interact to carry out life processes and cells and what cells do to carry out life processes... A lot of focus on life processes.
violet: right, so human biology? ^_^ I am doing human biology as my A level :)
Cool... Don't know what that is, but cool
basically, here in england, we've got elementary from years 1-6...from 7-11 we've got middle school, even though they call it high school...at the end of year 11 we get a diploma, called GCSE and all the final grades that we got for "high school"...then, people can either go to college after that, apply for an apprenticeship, or stay in school for "a levels" ...Usually four subjects are picked by option, and you only have to study those, but at a really difficult level...I just did my AS year for maths, biology, physics and chemistry, and next year i ma doing my A2-s...and then after that, if i got good enough grades, i can go to uni ^_^
Oh, cool. I'm sure you'll get there!
i hope so ^_^ what do you wanna do after school? :)
Uh, let's see, in the sense of "I want to" them like be an author as my top wish or like be on Broadway(yeah right lol but hey a girl can dream) but in a sense of what I will probably end up doing... I have absolutely no clue
Well, if you are still here, good bye Fera, I should probably sleep before exams...just maybe... So possibly talk to you tomorrow, and continue our rp? *hugs and falls asleep on glitter cloud that carries her off to dream land*
hehe i see, that's cool :) yes, i definitely want to continue the RP tomorrow, goodnight! :)
*Zanida and Loki are seen together on the lakeshore, with a very petrified Zafira*
"I promised you answers, did I not?" Loki asked the petrified Grand Mage. Zafira nodded, still unable to speak. Zanida hugged her gently.
"I told you he would listen." Zanida whispered, "If you want to hope to become one of us, you need to know our history, what makes us who we are."
"Alright." Zafira said, finding her voice. Loki looked at his sister, thinking of where to begin.
"You know of the Nine Realms, but do you of the Jotuns?" Zafira nodded.
"I know Laufey is the king, and you and Zanida are his children, rescued by Odin."
"Close enough. When we were small, the Jotuns invaded earth, but led by Odin, the Asgardians stopped them. The Jotuns were driven into their world, and the Casket of Winters was taken, Odin says he found me in a temple, and Zan as well. He knows not the truth. Zanida was running away with me in her hands, an Asgardian warrior hit her, and she fell, I crawled away from her, and we woke up on Asgard, too young to remember until we dug through her head." Loki finished, Zafira looking stunned. Zanida picked up their story,
"We never knew the truth. Loki and I grew up as cousins, Astrid my sister. You never would have thought it once we found out."
"How did you learn the truth?" Zafira interupted.
"Simple." Lokk answered. "I worked it out on my own, years after New York. I can show you, if you like. I borrowed something from a friend..." He held up a watch.
"A watch, is to tell time..." Zafira began. Loki silenced her with a look.
"To you, yes. To me, no. Grab my hand." Without waiting he grabbed Zafira and let Zan hold onto him, and they went to a time Zafira never knew.
Several years after the events of Thor 2.
"Let go!" Zanida shrieked, hitting Loki. He ignored her, dragging her into the weapons vault.
"We're so dead if Odin finds out! I told you to listen if you want to keep out of prison!" Loki sighed, pushing her into a wall.
"Silence, or I will kill you. I want to try something, I have a theory, but if you do not stay quiet, I will fail." He let go and led her to the Casket of Winters. "Touch it."
"No." Zanida said, "I'm not Jotun or stupid enough to."
"Do I need to take my sceptre out?" Loki taunted, and reluctantly Zanida touched the Casket.
"My arm...." She whispered. Loki nodded, confirming his theory.
"You are like me, a Frost Giant. Are we related....that is the question."
Onwa: *takes her hand, stepping close to her*
Paul: *pisses himself*
*passes out*
*doesn't respond*
Liliana: *they vanish in a flash of black, reappearing beside Silente and Bethany* ... What happened?
Bethany: ... We had a car crash. She won't wake up...
Claire: I know CPR! Kind of! *she runs to them, her eyes glowing white* *she starts to compress Silente's chest* When I tell you, Bethany, blow air into her lungs.
Onwa: *looks around at the mess*
*frowns, holding Liliana's hand tighter, scanning the area*
*eyes narrow at the bright red haired person on the bridge*
*nudges her slightly, nodding that way*
*Kind of xD*
Liliana: ... Is that James? *she grins* Mmm... Do you want to go and kill him?
Claire: Now blow air into her lung.
Bethany: *she moves her lips over Silente's, blowing air in*
Claire: *she continues with the chest compressions*
Onwa: Yes. Yes I do.. although you should perhaps be providing support for your sister?
*continues to remain unreactive*
Liliana: There is nothing I can do, Onwa. I can resurrect the dead but only their body, not their mind.
Bethany: I'm... Going to take her to my mother's realm... One moment... Seven minutes... I think... Her brain is alive so she won't have gone to Minerve's realm... So she isn't dead... Which means... *her hands glow white, and Silente's body does likewise* ... She can appear in my realm if she dies... And now I'm going to my mother's realm... Claire stay here. *she and Silente vanish in a flash of light, reappearing in Phaestra's realm* Mother... Silente...
Phaestra: *she appears beside Bethany, her hands glowing white, beginning to pour massive amounts of energy into reviving her*
Claire: *she stands next to Onwa and Liliana* I heard you mention James?
Onwa: *nods at Claire*
Yes. We did.
*nods towards the bridge*
James: *is starting to walk away*
*shudders slightly, jerking*
Liliana: You appear one side of him, I'll appear the other.
Claire: What about me?
Liliana: You can come too, if you wish. *she places her hand on Claire's shoulder* *she vanishes in a flash of black, reappearing silently behind James*
Claire: *she aims her pistol at the back of James' head*
Bethany: *she quickly injects Silente with her serum*
Phaestra: *she pours even more energy in*
Onwa: *vanishes, appearing in front of him, shoving him back at Liliana and Claire*
James: *stumbles*
Hey b*tch!!!
*gasps, coughing, choking slightly on the blood that remains in her lungs after being healed*
Liliana: *she grabs him, stabbing at his shoulder with her dagger whilst her hand glows black, making him feel the pain of everyone he has ever hurt*
Bethany: *she kneels next to her, patting her back, hugging her tightly*
James: *screams, twisting in pain, legs collapsing under him*
Onwa: I believe my finacée warned you about hurting the vampire again.
*coughs the blood up, shuddering*
*focuses on Beth, using the little energy she has to heal her face and leg. shaking with the effort of not passing back out*
Liliana: I did indeed. *she grasps him by the neck, lifting him up again and slapping him head-first into the railing of the bridge*
Bethany: Shhh... It's okay. *she cuddles Silente tightly* You're okay...
(I have to go now. Goodbye. *she cuddles Jaimie tightly*)
James: *cries out loudly, choking slightly*
*growls, lashing a kick backwards into Liliana's gut*
*leans against her, exhausted*
*mumbles about it being too bright, closing her eyes, fighting sleep*
(*cuddles tightly back* Love you Soph. Bye. Hopefully I'll still be sane tonight..)
Heeylo. Anybody else in Blogland?
Do I count? Lol
Yeah, hi Violet and anyone else present? (*cough, ghosters, cough*)
Hey Gar! *huggles* How you be?
*huggles* I be very good, with a bit of fanboyingness (<that's a word okay)
Thank you
How you be???
Can I just mention how rocks just wait for me to come outside so they can jump in my shoe. There is FOREVER a rock in my shoe. I have walked down grassy hills on two feet of snow in boots that go up to my upper middle calf, and gotten pebbles in my shoe. I will have been inside for an hour or so when all of the sudden I find a pebble beneath my foot. PEBBLES ARE UNIVERSALLY IN LOVE WITH MY FEET AND SHOES
Good!(and duh, wait would people think that wasn't a word? Course it is!) and I'm pretty good... But it is like seven am, so I'm tired... And I am on the bus to an exam, so I'm a bit nervous. But this should be an easy exam. Im good at Spanish.
Right..... Your feet are magnets!!
Yeah, special kind of magnets, that only attract pebbles
Logic! :D
And thank you, I know right
We should right the next edition of the dictionary lol
Yes, that is early so good luck with your exam, I know you'll do good (trust me on that )
And yay for being good at Spanish :D
Is it a hard language to learn???
It really is, but idk (I'm really not trying to sound narcissistic here, sorry if it comes across that way), cuz I mean I am in a lot of honours classes, and everyone but my friend and I in my class has a bit of trouble, but then again everyone in my class is a complete idiot, so I really don't have a proper reference for you. But a lot of it is somewhat similar to English, vocabulary-wise. Grammar can get different, but hey...
(Hello.)
Liliana: *she growls, launching a kick at his groin* If you dare come near Silente, Bethany, Claire, myself or Onwa again I will crush you. I will crush you until there is no life left in your body, and then my mother can torture you from eternity, you sad, disgusting little man. *her body glows black, and she takes the form similar to Minerve's, her head becoming half-skull* It has been several months since I've eaten a human, but for you I would make an exception. I would keep you alive whilst I skinned you, sliced chunks of meat from your flesh and made them into a stew. I would preserve the rest of your body in salt, and carve the flesh off your bones. And only then would you be allowed to die - your body to be my servant, and my food, and your soul to be my mother's plaything for eternity.
Claire: What she said.
Bethany: ... Do you want blood?
Hey Sophia! *waves at face*
(Hello, Andviolet.)
Well crap. Bus pulling into school. Wish me luck! Bye Gar *hugs*! Bye Sophia *waves again*! Maybe talk to you in a few hours!
Right, I think I get you
for you, you've got a handle on it and are now *pretty good / good / insert positive adjective here* so its easy(/ier) for you and your friend then it is for the class
And i see, well at least its a bit similar to English
So okay fair doodles :)
P.s you didn't sound like a complete narcissist
You're just a well educated person (I.e smart )
I know what narcissism is like (guilty of being one lol... Only sometimes but hey that's me )
So yeah, you weren't one at all :)
And goodbye and good luck *hugs back* and okay :)
Hey Soph!!
How be you? *offers bro hug?* (like a normal hug but that's what I call them coz I do it with my friends lol )
(Hello, Garrett. Apologies for the late reply. I am tired, but writing, yourself? *she refuses the hug*)
(*hums and rocks and chuckles and blows up school and the exam boards and any back up exam boards and anything to do with exams that won't blow up people's houses* *smiles*)
James: *hisses, slightly curled around his crotch, glaring*
You idiotic bigoted b*tch.
Onwa: *narrows her eyes*
Are you verbally attacking her?
*cuddles closer to her, yawning*
*nods and mumbles* that'd be nice..
HELLO.
I stayed in school all day today despite only needing to be in for an hour and a half ish.
I almost rather prefer being in school . . . it's like, I went to school, and now I've had all this time off, I'm ready for school again, but I cna't get school back and I'm just like "WHY."
I miss school . . .
I might stay in school tomorrow. Idk. Cat'll be in tomorrow all day . . . it might depend on how sunny it is. XD Veyr few things beat lying on the patio in the sunshine and eating tinned peaches. And revising, but y'know.
I have worked out that reading before school is a Very Bad Idea.
I've bene freaking about The Alloy of Law all day. And I'm not talking minor freaking out, I'm talking major freaking out. XD
(Like
like though
Wayne
and Wax
:)
Alright, admittedly, although my Brandon Sanderson obsession is mostly rational, it does verge and this especially happens with The Alloy of Law. You know when you have moments when like, with a book, or TV . . . every little moment seems just brilliant, and you know there's really nothing to distinguish the moments in that book/TV show from ones in other books/TV shows - the only difference is in your head - and rationally, it really isn't all that brilliant, but . . . like . . . you may as well enjoy all the positive admiration emotions while they last, right?
I love The Alloy of Law, anyway, however much of that is rational or irrational. :))
(*collapses* hello all)
:) Hi Inky.
(Hey
How art thou?)
:) Alright, thanks. Ten pages of chemistry to learn aghhhh!
How're you? :)
(*ate too much ice cream to try make me feel better*
*now feels worse*
*doesn't want to revise for the chem test tomorrow*)
(Hey Jai
I walked for miles today down the gower
So tired )
@Jai: :/
*hugs*
*is also revising for chem tomorrow*
(Need any help for chem?
I'm ya bitch)
(*hugs star back*
Hey Chloe. *hugs* walking. Ugh..)
(@Chloe xD)
(*huggles*
Hehe
I'm hungry )
(Then eat?)
(Food won't be made for a while)
@Inky: :) Nah, s'okay, just need to memorise a load of stuff.
Apparently the word 'dude' is part of my vocabulary now.
Okay?
(Hehe XD)
NEW MOTION CITY
SOUNDTRACK
DON'T
DON'T LOOK AT ME
JUSTIN PIERRE KEEPS SINGING IN HIS LOW PAVEMENTESQUE VOICE
BUT SORT OF COMBINED WITH THE PHONETICS OF THAT ONE AGBPOL SONG
I REALLY CAN'T ARGUE WITH THAT
AND SORRY F OR SPAMMING BUT I SWEAR
IT'S BEEN LIKE A LIFETIME
*LAUGHING MANIACALLY*
(Hey Taia...)
:) Hi Taia!!!!!!! :) :) :) :) :) :)
Yeah, I remember you talking about Motion City Soundtrack from way back when, so. XD
Hey, Chloe!
*hugs* Everything OK?
HEY STAR :) :)
*hugs*
YEAH XD
IT's been
idk
at least a year?
This is very sudden O_O
OMG I STILL HAVE TO LEARN ABOT CARBOXYLIC ACIDS
OMFG WHY
*mutters about alkanes and alcohols and carboxylic acids and how chemistry is my least favourite science*
@Taia: :) :) :) :) :) :)
OMG
AND ESTERS
WHY
WHY
WHY
WHY
I DON'T CARE ABOUT THIS SHIT
sorry
(*huggles* I'm tired
You?
I love organic chemistry)
@Star: How much can you need to to about carboxylic acids? o0 ^^
*hugs*
@Inky: What does that involve . . . ?
(Sorry. GCSE student here. :P)
@Taia: Only one page, but like, I still have nine pages to memorise and three of them are filled with carboxylic acids and fucking esters and like -
I think Lizzie is rubbing off on me. XD
(Alkanes
Alkenes
Alcohols
Carboxylic acids)
@Inky: Yep. -_-
(Do you do skeletal, displayed and structural formulas ?)
@Inky: Hell. What do you mean by do we 'do' them? We've LOOKED at them. Briefly.
(Ah
I guess that's more a level)
[6/16/2015, 18:09] Lizzie: Hey I just gave all of my family cake and didn't eat any myself then waited until they had all eaten some and said "now is the time to tell you of the eat poison I put in the cake instead of sugar!"
[6/16/2015, 18:10] Lizzie: I then proceeded with the evil laugh
[6/16/2015, 18:12] Star Inkbright: XD Omg. XD
[6/16/2015, 18:13] Lizzie: Mwahahahaha
[6/16/2015, 18:13] Star Inkbright: :)
[6/16/2015, 18:14] Lizzie: That all just sort of stopped
[6/16/2015, 18:15] Star Inkbright: ?
[6/16/2015, 18:15] Lizzie: Like they stopped eating it
[6/16/2015, 18:15] Lizzie: In shock
[6/16/2015, 18:19] Star Inkbright: XD Omg.
Omg brilliant.
@Chloe: I like /knowing/ organic chemistry? Like, I like recognising things?
Like I flicked through the revision guide for next year and I'm like HELL YEAH, BENZENE! and CYCLOHEXANE, I GOT THIS! :P
@Star: Huh.
I'm not sure how you fill a page about carboxylic acids, though. :P
... and we still haven't looked at esters, by AS-level. o0
*hugs* Good luck remembering, anyway, Star.
Chances are, even if you don't remember it, it's not the end of the world? YOu can do well in an exam without knowing eeeevvverrything?
But, you probably know it a little bit, somewhere. Kind of. WHich would mean that you've probably got a better shot at remembering it, anyway?
Okay, I hate to admit this after just moaning about it, but this chemistry is rather interesting.
(Hehe I'm not doing chemistry next year)
@Taia: D: I need to memorise everything, though. Coz I won't let myself go to sleep until I have and then if I don't go to sleep until late I will be tired tomorrow and hence die.
*nods*
Ah, well, I just flicked onto the carboxylic acids page now and it said "Carboxylic acids react like any other acid" and I was like "NO SHIT" and then it proceeded to tell me how carboxlyic acids reacted with alkalis, carbonates and metals and I was like "C:" because I'd already memorised that adn skipped past it. :)
omg Star XD XD
I'll remember that one. :P
And- *nods*
When it's not UGH CHEMISTRY
It's kind of cool? :)
Also interest => pro-revision, so :) :) :)
@Chloe: *laughs* Possibly, I'm not either. :) Gonna see what happens at results. I can only drop one, so it'll either be chem or psychology or neither?
Unless I fail, like, maths, and then have to rethink my life plans somewhat. :P
(Psychology is my career plan)
@Star: Memorize away! :)
@already knowing things: YEAH!
Yeah, chemistry can be a bit like that. :P
'Alkali metals react with water to form an alkaline solution' "SURPRISE!" :P
@Chloe: Awesome! :)
I do really like psychology.
But for such an interesting subject, I think my lessons are not so good?
Which area/s are you thinking about?
(I see
Hmmm either educational or animal)
:)
*lots of smileys sent Taia's way :)*
OMG OMG OMG!
MY AND CAT GOT OUR OPTIONS LETTERS TODAY FOR SIXTH FORM (Darcie'll only see hers when she goes to her mum's tomorrow) and OMG we're in the same lesson for three subjects.
Omg.
Omg.
I am suddently taken with the desire not to change my subjects.
C:
*ME
@Chloe: Oh, interesting! :)
@Star: *fires smileys back?* :)
*more smiles because YAY! :)*
!!!
(It's good that you get to find out in advance, too! :)
We didn't enrol for sixth form properly until after results, so we didn't find out whose classes we were in until we started the year.
Yours sounds like a much nicer system O_O)
(Thanks )
@Taia: We haven't enrolled yet, but they do the option blocks way before. :/
Apparently most schools sort out the option blocks adn then slot students in, whereas they find out our subjects adn then create the option blocks around them.
Still don't entirely know what I want to take next year, but it's nice to know I can spend at least half my school life with Catherine. :)
(Hello.)
Liliana: Mmm... Perhaps I am. But all you are is a bug who I could crush with my bare hands. I have told you what I will do if I see you again. The next move is yours - but choose wisely. The wrong decision may cost you and your life, piece by piece. I will destroy everything you own. There will not be a single place, in this realm or any other, in which I will not find you. Your entire life will unravel before your eyes. *she shifts back to her usual form, smiling* Literally and metaphorically.
Claire: *she draws her knife, slashing it at James' torso*
Bethany: *she holds her cut arm close to her mouth*
@Star: Oh! That definitely sounds like a nicer system, though.
When you do it the other way around, there are always restrictions and it's possible you can't take what you wanted to?
Like, this year, in order to take food tech and textiles, or fine art and photography, people had to enrol for other courses in the DT or art departments and sort of just figure out how they'd work around it, because those subjects were in the same option blocks?
*thumbs up @ your school* :)
Also - I didn't know what I was taking, either
And I sort of ended up winging it at enrolment, and I think I changed all five of my choices from the provisional options earlier in the year. :P
Hi, Sophia! :)
(((Unrelated, but, so many people are liveblogging E3 and I'm trying so hard not to laugh because Nintendo literally introduced themselves with a video of themselves as Muppets and they're still getting hands-down the best responses I've seen so far)))
(wbd because I forgot I need to get things done O_O)
(Hello, Taia. How are you?)
@Taia: :) Thank you on behalf of my school?
I'm good, thanks Sophia. :)
How're you?
@Star: Your school is welcome? :P
For me, Nintendo are to gaming what Club Penguin is to social networking. I was talking about it with my friend earlier. :)
Nintendo are cute, and fun when you're small, but as you grow up they don't really... provide anything? There's no kind of emotional stimulation or beautiful gameplay or ANYTHING to keep you interested when you're older. I think that I think that (because good sentences start with that) as console creators and game designers, they're kind of... lacking? I mean, Nintendo were once the most innovative of all the video game companies. And now they're just... not. It's kind of sad. :P
Anyway, yeah, as I was saying... I think that they offer good games for children, and consoles to suit the games. But nothing more. :)
(Sorry. Imogen was comfy and apparently I was tired.)
James: *dodges back quickly to avoid being stabbed*
*slams a fist into Claire's jaw*
*carefully takes her arm, sucking the blood out of the cut gently, smiling*
(Shit!
Noticed how burnt my shoulders, chest and back is!)
(Hello Star. Hello, Taia - I am tired, and writing, yourself?
Hello, Jaimie. *she cuddles Jaimie tightly*
Hello, Chloe.)
Claire: *she dodges back quickly, lessening the blow a little* *she aims the gun at his head* Stop.
Bethany: *she smiles*
Phaestra: What happened to you, Silente?
(Hey Soph ^.^)
(*cuddles Sophi tightly back* I may or may not be using Imogen as a pillow..)
James: *glares at her*
*carefully pulls away from Beth's arm, applying pressure to the cut, her lips clean*
We were on the motor way when we got boxed in between two lorries. I tried to signal Claire for help but bofh the lorries smashed together on us.. I managed to twist the car so that Beth wasn't hurt much at least..
Phew! Two exams down, two to go!
@Dragona(?): *laughs* Yeah, I think that's fair. :) :) :)
Although, I also think that a lot of people do like those games who are not kids, because they remember being kids, kind of? And also just because, those are the kind of games they like?
Y'know, for a lot of people, games like Pokémon and Animal Crossing were kind of childhood monuments, and so some of them would be really happy to be able to continue with those games?
It's true what you said about Nintendo previously being the biggest video game company, but I don't think the types of games they're making changed? More the games other companies made changed? I think Nintendo have their agenda and they will stick to it? I don't think Nintendo making games like The Last of Us, or Mass Effect or Skyrim or COD would be really Nintendo at all. They do what they do. :)
(Is she a good pillow, Jaimie?)
Claire: *she shoots at his foot* You're an asshole. Leave my family alone.
Phaestra: Thank you for protecting my daughter. Did the vehicles stop after the incident?
(Yes. Yes she it. She's very comfy and fluffy. She's also just about the perfect size for a head.)
James: *shadows converge to catch the bullet before it hits his foot*
You don't have family little girl.
You're welcome. I'm not entirely sure..? I.. couldn't exactly see..
(Hi vi!)
@Chloe: :( !
I hope it's not too bad! :S
@Sophia: Good that you're writing! :)
And- you already asked. :P ^^
Hey, Jai! :)
Hi, Andviolet! HOORAH! Hope they go alright! :)
Hey Inky! How be you?
Hi Taia :)
(I be exhausted
Walked down the gower
Google it, it's pretty
Thanks Taia
I never sunburn)
#crustylichens ...*cries*
@AndVi some advice, READ THE ENTIRETY OF THE QUESTION!!! DON'T JUST READ THE FIRST FEW WORDS AND PRESUME YOU'RE RIGHT, READ THE WHOLE THING SO YOU DONT FORGET THE CRUSTY LICHENS!!!)
(I saw lichens today
*could reel on about primary succession)
Raisin, yes mwhahahaha. :P
I've only ever played one Pokémon game. And I was like, "Um, is this what everyone goes on about all the time? Is this it?". :P So yeah, I think as long as you play them when you're younger, then kind of keep doing it - that's fine. But if you're an older player trying to get into them without playing them as a child... Then that doesn't really work? Because as I said - they don't really offer anything new... That's from experience. :)
Call of Duty isn't good, just saying. :P The Last of Us, Mass Effect and Skyrim are (hence the Elder Scrolls references in my name/picture mwhahaha because references).
I DID A GENERAL STUDIES EXAM THE OTHER DAY.
There was a question saying, "Climate change is an example of an environmentally damaging incident. Give an example of another and explain its effects."
I CHOSE ALIENS.
Because I managed to get in all ma Mass Effect quotes I had collected.
Then in a question about religion I started saying about how Catholics and Anglicans are in a conspiracy to control governments.
I love general studies. :D
(Hey dragon! 🐉
Maybe a scolding hot bath doesn't help sun burn)
Claire: You're just sore I tricked you. But that's fine.
Liliana: Now if you are both quite done - leave, James, before I change my mind about giving you one last chance to leave us all alone and decide to devour your flesh right here and now.
Bethany: I couldn't... Everything was going so fast...
Jai: yeah, I always try to read the question, and that is good advice! Thank you for trying to spread little good grade sprinkles everywhere! They makes the ice cream more delicious, you know!
Inky: that doesn't seem the best for any skin, burned or not, actually...
The Black Sacrament: have we met before?
(Hey Inky. :) )
No, we haven't met before. I'm an oldy. Like a really oldy. I don't think I'm the oldest in terms of age here but I MIGHHHTT be one of the oldest-serving people in terms of how long I've been here... Even though I don't really come on anymore, I poke my head in from time to time.
James: *smirks at her*
Filthy b*tch. I'll leave when I see the vampire dead on the floor.
*nods, squeezing her hand gently*
Liliana: Mmm... Onwa, how do you feel like a human stew tonight? Because I am in the mood. *she grasps James' neck*
Bethany: *she squeezes her hand back* ... Do you feel alright?
(Hmmm that's true vi
Do I count as old gen? I mean, I started here in 2011
But I've been on and off
Only last summer did I start being consistent)
James: *struggles, kicking her in the groin with all the force he can which is actually a lot*
Onwa: I'm always in the mood for human.
*nods* A bit dizzy and still thirsty but I'll be fine.. I'm sorry for scaring you.
Liliana: *she winces a little, tightening her grip* Mmm... Do you want to take him back to our realm, or have a picnic right here? *her hands glow black, and she makes him feel the pain of everyone he's ever hurt*
Claire: I'm... Going to wait for my mums. *she starts to head back towards the field*
Bethany: That's fine... Do you want to go back?
Oh, okay. Well hi, Black Sacrament. I joined about a week ago, so I would go so far as to say I am one of the newest. Let's be friends *offers hug*
(Have you ever known someone who can make you cry tears of happiness when you're feeling down?)
*hugs* Hi. You can call me Dragona. That's my kind of usual name. This name I have is just unusual because unusualness is weird and it's also an Elder Scrolls reference because I've been playing nothing but Skyrim in like forever and Dark Brotherhood. I'm pretty sure there should be some commas in there but MEH I DON'T CARE I'VE DONE A GEOLOGY EXAM TODAY.
Geology rocks.
James: *screams, twisting in agony, struggling more*
Onwa: *chuckles* Hmm.. I think this is perhaps a bit public. Our castle may be the best place. Good bye Claire. Tell your mothers the cause is being eradicated.
We should go back. Claire needs us..
(@Chloe yes, I have.)
(**yes I do )
(*waves meakly*)
Yay! It is Dragona! Hi! :) :)
*nods* Yeah, I can agree with that. :)
As for COD, yeah, I'd agree (not that I've played it, eh). But it's still been a popular one, which was more my point. ^^
I haven't played The Last of Us (despite literally having the game shoved into my hands with a "this is THE BEST ps3 game and you can't not play it"), and I still haven't played Mass Effect either (despite... you? :P).
I'm not tired with SKyrim yet. But I don't play much, which helps. :)
I DID get the Dark Brotherhood reference, though! :D
omg XD
I hope you get a good grade for that xD
(Don't let them go, Jai)
(Jaimie, will Liliana and Onwa actually be able to eat James?)
Claire: Okay, sure...
Liliana: *she extends her other hand to Onwa, continuing to cause James pain*
Bethany: Okay... Thank you, mother. *she cuddles Silente tightly, and they vanish in a flash of light, reappearing next to the wreckage of the car*
(@Chloe I have no intention of doing so.
@Sophi I'd rather they didn't but I also want to keep this realistic?)
Onwa: *takes her hand, smiling*
*grimaces at the sight of the car, shuddering slightly*
Where's Claire..?
Okay. Hi Dragona then.
( *doesn't get noticed*
*shrugs it off*
Whatever! ... hope you all are good?)
(good Jai
Hey K how art thou? *returns to an emotional wreck*)
Hi Kieron *hugs*
(i'm decent... what's up? *offers hug*)
(Hi Vi :) *hugs* )
(*nods at Chloe*)
Raisin: Maybe with like twelve year olds, cos they seem to be Call of Duty's general target audience. :P
I played it a little at my friend's house and it was really good. :)
Mass Effect is perfect in every way. :P
"Sweet mother, sweet mother,
Send your child unto me,
For the sins of the unworthy must be baptised in blood and fear".
... It's bad that I know that. BUT STILL. Dark Brotherhood. :D
I play Skyrim on the PC. On the PS3, I've had about 50 hours of game time. On the PC, I've had about a hundred and fifty hours. The mods are funny. I used to have a TARDIS. But then I decided to get rid of it because it kind of ruined the lore. :P
The only two mods I have at the moment are "Sofia (no relation to Sophia) the funny fully voiced follower mod", which just adds a hilarious follower to the game. Then I also have, "Enhanced Character Edit"... That's all. Nothing lore-breaking. :) Skyrim's beautiful. On my current play through, I'm a stealth-orientated character (as always), but I'm also a female, a vampire lord, a member of the Dark Brotherhood, the Thieves Guild and the Nightingales... Kind of the Dawnguard too but they turned their backs on me when I turned into a vampire lord. Um, that might be about it. I wander around with an improved (legendary) Daedric Bow that can absorb eleven points of health. That's fun. I also have some improved (legendary) daedric daggers for 30x sneak bonuses. :P
My game time on Mass Effect is astronomical, though. :P
(*huggles* I have the best boyfriend, that's whats up)
*hugs back* *is aware that Kieron's hug was a hug back* *doesnt care, hugs back the hug back* *cycle repeats* *hug forever* *and ever* *and ever* *okay this is getting obnoxious probably* *this isn't even what the asterisks are for any more* *oh well* I'm over it* *oh god someone stop me* *please* *help* *I CANT STOOOP* *cries*
(*huggles* aww :) for a second I thought you were going to say the opposite... )
(*huggles Vi too*
yea... I was in a bit of a mood and he said the nicest stuff..)
(@vi *stops hugging* -does that stop it? I know I'm very huggable and all :P)
(*Huggles Chloe, smiling* Keep ahold of your someone then!)
*hugs Inky back* *checks* Phew, that one actually IS a hug back. Good.
Yes, thank you, Kieron. I needed that...
*huggles Jai* I will not let go *dies of happiness*)
