I jammed my thumb tip-first into the ceiling two days ago while killing a spider, it's been bleeding beneath my thumbnail ever since so the entire nail looks blood red and I can quite literally feel the pressure building up.

Yeah.
The black colourful thing is the picture I was working from, then the thing covered eith lines id the thing I was drawing and the writing underneath is my working out . . . I measured where each colour met the circumference using a protractor, then I picked a few lines and marked how far up them each colour came by measuring it on the diagram with a ruler, then finding out what percentage that was of the whole line using my cculator . . . then I found the length of the full line using my drawing and worked out what each colour's percentage would equal in centimetres and marked it on.
Most fun I've had in ages. :P

If you're asking why he has a lighteyed name; his parents (and therefore him) were of second nahn (er . . . quite high ranking. It goes from one to ten), so they were kind of posh in a way I guess. For darkeyes, I mean. When Kaladin was younger he didn't like it because it made him stand out more than he already did (his was the only family of second nahn in his town, and besudes people were wary of them because they thought cutting people open was wsird a d unnatural) so he shortened it to Kal.
If you're askibg why his name sounds so weird, that's just how lighteyed names are. Dalinar, Adolin, Aladar, Roion, Ruthar, Navani, Jasnah. Remember they don't speak English - also, it makes sense for lighteyed names to be elegant and refined. Notice the slight symmetry in most of the names - symmetry is holy in Vorinism. However, it's slight blasphemy ti name your children a fully symmetrical name.
Darkeyed names are more blunt. Moash, Teft, Skar, Mart, Eth, Beld.
