There is another collaborative issue at play here, as well, which is respect for another's character. Even if Ohaestra did have the ability to heal Vivanus, in my time she would have had to ask for the consent of the author before determining that sort of thing for a character, and it would then be Phaestra's responsibility to come up with a way to avoid healing him that was true to her character.
For example, I once threatened to kill one of Zafira's characters if I ever saw them again, and I would've been able to easily within the roleplay. But because Zafira did not want the character to die, I went to lengths to ensure that we never met.
This is a matter of respect, as well as logic within the given canon of magic.

At least in my time, it was assumed that permission was necessary to make any major change to another person's character. That includes reviving them, significantly altering their mind or personality, or anything else of the sort. Even when a situation doesn't seem to require permission, if an author asks that something not be done to their character, so long as their request is reasonable, it was generally accepted that other authors would work around it.

I don't know, though, Alastair; I think that rule was only implemented when avoiding ignificantly changing other people's characters. I think the general rule was also that if you had a plot planned and other authors began making it go arwy, you weren't allowed to basically dictate what had to happen and sort of had to go with the flow.
Please trust me, you couldn't handle it.

I agree with you, Star- that is why I added that an author's request would be reasonable for it to be respected. If there was something logical and not very significant one character changed about another, and the author protested, ideally there would be some calm discussion to reach an agreement about where restrictions can be drawn.

Bubble, you're changing a character's state. The author gets the final say on what happens. If Viv doesn't want to be woken up, then don't. It's his character, not yours.
(I actually agree with you, Star. It was hardly reviving him and granting him immortality, it was just reviving him - which could be temporary should Vivanus choose to kill himself again.)

@Death: Roleplay relies HEAVILY on writing style. I don't like reading badly-written stories with good plotlines. I much prefer to read well-written stories with bad plotlines (although well-written stories with good plotlines are the best, of course). I simply do not like badly-written things; I can't get into them. Am I discriminating against books based on writing style? No, because the writing style is part of the book.
(I feel sorry for the story, though).
(However I am not in favour of ignoring people.)

People went out of their way to criticize him in that situation, Memories, and it was not a situation in which any onlookers felt pressured to mimic Stiltskin's writing style just to be able to stand a chance at collaborating for him. The question you should be asking is not "Should they get pregnatn coz that would be fun?" but "Are they ready for a child? Would a child have a good life growing up with them? Would they put in the time and energy needed to be good parents? Would their relationship stand up to the challenge of parenthood? How would they raise a child - would they have any conflicting opinions and how would they resolve them?

Idk. Remember yesterday when we were discussing that a kid's home life was basically the determiner of their happiness?
I think most people on here take having kids wayyy less seriously than they should. But that's just me being in the mood for talking about all the issues I have with everything.
