Hello.
Ah, my poor neglected blog. How I have ignored you. Once you were the apple of my eye (okay, not really — the name of this blog is what it is, after all), but then along came Twitter and suddenly you seemed somewhat clunky and... unwieldy...
But see? I have returned. I've been away a lot, I know. Work. I had that book to publish (which went really well, by the way) and then all those tours, including a trip to New Zealand and Australia to meet all those readers with funny accents.
My life has been somewhat chaotic as of late, and when things get chaotic, some other things suffer. You, it seems, are one of these things.
But I'll try to rectify that. I really will. I'm home now, after all, and settling back into normal life. What normal life will bring me, though, I have no idea.

«Oldest ‹Older 2601 – 2800 of 4849 Newer› Newest»Also Dug, I got really confused for a moment when you said there was a football match at Wembley.
I jut sort of sat there for a second and thought "Well... yeah. That is what they do there."
And then I realised what they meant.
Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to read Star's thing.
Your brain is so interesting, Star.
(Hear hear!)
@Silente: Yes. I used to do that on a regular basis. Like, every few days? O_O
@Trip: XD Don't get your hopes up.
@Lantern: I've been told so. I believe everyone's brain is interesting, particularly yours. :)
Here here!
Thanks Dugglyn. :)
Sometimes people only form attachments for selfish reasons, too . . .
. . .
It depends what you mean by selfish reasons. Most attachments are formed for selfish reasons, really. Then again, I'm pretty cynical abotu selfishness.
You're cute, Star.
Trip, I forgot you weren't in the US. :P Idk why, I knew that.
And true Fabi. That might help, though some people use their parents or someone else's so it still might not work...
Idk, it's hard. The USA can't take it away now, there would have to be a vote and I think most people would vote against taking it away.
Now I really need to do homework, pie!!
Just got a maths question right.
And I shouted: THATS HOW WE ROLL IN THE SHIRE!!!
My class has never laughed so hard...
(Star, I read CUDDLE BUDDIES as CUDDLE BUBBLES.)
@Silente: O_O Oh my gosh. :O
What even. :P
We should all move to the US and vote for taking it away. :O
@Tia: Thank you. :P I've been told so.
@Tia: XD XD
*laughs*
@Death: XD
*claps*
Beautiful Sil!
(Hey, Danni. Yay maths!)
*lives in NottinghamSHIRE*
@Star:
Wow.
Okay.
I'm going to think about that for a while.
Like maybe a few days.
And then hopefully I will have a response other than wow, and interest.
*hugs*
Great dedication. :)
@Star :P
Um, wait, I just said I have to go.
Argh, meh!
*Poofs@=
STAR.
I need to email you something rather important!
Just a moment.
I am back in the realm of the living.
An intriguing piece, Star. I agree entirely, basically.
@TRip: :) :) :)
@Sophia: Because :).
@Death: XD *hugs* !! :)
@Trip: How do you agree when it's mostly question marks? :P
Thanks, though. :) :)
No gun law is going to be perfect, but if background checks reduce the amount of shootings and therefore, the amount of people dead from unnatural causes, then that's a good thing.
I think that there's no way this country is ready for something drastic, like civilians not being allowed to have guns at all, but that background checks could happen and should happen.
[hugs Taia because Taia]
*hugs Silente, because I missed your story, so I can't comment on that now, but I can still hug you?*
*sort of has to hug around Sophia?*
@Fabi: :):):)
@Star: I suppose one could agree with all of the questions you're asking, that they're questions which should be considered?
*nods at Fabi*
@Taia: . . . I see. :)
(That explanation does not help a great deal, Taia, but thank you anyway.)
*hugs Taia back while also hugging Soph and Tanya*
*this is a crowded hug*
[nods at Star]
It should be sent now.
I need to work on my ded from several days ago...
@Taia :-) :-) :-) :-)
@Star [Do not read if easily offended] In a way you may be more mature than most people. People have all these crushes and relationships and whatnot but let's face it, some of them are just placeholders until you meet the one person you truly love. And you don't do that, so.. I don't know. Just a thought.
Because Star, all your questions were semi-rhetorical, and eluded to a point.
@Sophia: Ah, sorry. :P
Oh, Tanya, didn't see you, there. :P
It IS a crowed hug, then. *hopes Sil can still breathe in there. :P*
Bye, Dugglyn!
MSD
(It is a rather crowded hug, indeed. *keeps hugging Silente*)
I feel okay guns but a backround check can't help, it can't help if the kid takes the gun and shoots, I mean it'll keep nutjob adults away from guns but....-Zaf
I JUST MISSED A CHUNK OF COMMENTS. O_O
Only a little chunk, but still. :O
*hugs Taia* Thanks. :)
@Tia: O_O Why would that offend me?
Well, there's a thread on AVEN where a romantic asexual asked if anyone ever thought being aromantic would be easier, and plenty more romantic asexuals were like "ohmygosh yes."
However, aromantic asexuals also commented saying actually, no, we have problems same as you do, and it's difficult being an aromantic asexual, same as it is being a romantic asexual.
And everyone basically sort of concluded that it was a grass-is-greener-on-the-other-side sort of thing, and that there were disadvantages and advantages to most things. :)
I think I'm both more mature than most people and more immature than most people, personally, same way I'm more intelligent than most people and more stupid than most people.
Placeholder relationships always seemed pointless to me . . . now I know about the existence of sexual attraction and that crushes are more real than I thought, it makes more sense, tbh. :P
@Trip: Ah, okay. :) Thank you. :) *hugs*
You should never date someone as a placeholder, in my view Dug. Now, for fun, that's a different matter. But in my eyes it's cruel to both parties to enter a relationship you know will end badly.
As a side note that sort of links into your point though, I think teen romances for the purposes of more than observation or fun, are a foolish thing to engage in.
No offence, to nigh on all other human beings.
True, if it helps a little it is worth it. I think that was one of the points of my essay but I really don't remember.. :P
(Wasn't me Trip...! :)))
@Zaf: I think they can help a little. Just not entirely. :)
@Zaf: That's an interesting point. ^^
@Star: I do that sometimes. :P
*hugs back* Thank you, too. :)
*is tired and would like to sleep but there's some interesting conversation going here and I'd like to keep reading*
*not really sure what my current here-ness status is*
*kind of tired-but-in-denial*
*but I'll just say wbd/msd :P*
(In our school planner it says at one point that 1+1=3
My brother and I were like wait what?! :P)
Any security is good security in my eyes, Zaf. Until it starts doing damage itself, but until that point, it's just free safety.
I mean it will help a bit but...-Zaf
*hugs Sil again and again and again and doesn't let go*
@Dugglyn: *laughs* :P
... Our mathematical system does not properly fit the universe, and so I like to think that that is possible, though. idk. I like your school planner.
Also it could be a mistake but still. :)
But I like math logic....
@Zaf While the recent Marysville shooting is an exception, most shootings seem to be by "nutjob adults," as you put it. I agree with you that background checks won't make the problem go away completely, but in my opinion, enforcing them will actually help.
But more must be done, I agree. But still, no use opposing a measure because it won't be as effective as you want it to be.
True Elleni but can the USA banned guns? Not without a vote. And probably most people would want to keep guns...
@Dugglyn: Aw, me too. :)
But I also like arguing AGAINST maths logic.
And mostly I just like thinking about everything as being completely different from how we interpret it. :P
*reading the guns discussion, but not commenting because I don't know much on the topic*
*I don't think that there is a reason why people should need guns because I don't think that there is a reason why people should shoot people*
*So I just don't think guns should be.*
*but I also realise that this is an unrealistic ideal, and the best you can get there is compromise*
*so SOME people get guns*
*and I just have to hope they don't use them?*
*I'm reading. :)*
*nods at everyone* *they all seem to be talkign sense*
@Dugglyn: I recently discovered that I find maths exam papers fun.
O_O
:P
@Taia: :) I like thinking of that, too. :)
The NRA is actually pretty powerful. Scarily so...
True, I was upset by that. I mean, I understand some kids go crazy and adults.-Zaf
@Fabi yeah, I agree...
@Taia and Star yeah, I love math, it's my best subject and it just makes so much sense to me!
I was talking with Adra, and I can't remember exactly why, but we were comparing laws relating to home invasions.
And I brought up our laws on using reasonable and appropriate force, and not just murdering anyone who breaks in.
It's actually why, had Oscar Pistorious killed his girlfriend here, he wouldn't have had a case. "Ah! There's someone in the bathroom! I'd better shoot them without learning anything about their intentions or weaponry!" It's just not reasonable use of force.
But then we got to US law, and basically, someone who's in your house who shouldn't be is a killable human being. And basically, we decided that in the UK, you can't just assume that the invaders brought lethal weapons with them. But in the US, it'd be surprising if they didn't, considering the availability of such dangerous things.
I just think less guns tend to make things nicer. If we all drove around in tanks whose cannon we could just fire at motorists we go annoyed at, the roads would be a bloodbath.
Why are you all so damn amazing?
Yeah, I agree Trip. But the way our country is run makes it so that we can't really change it... :/
*huggles Tia*
Because I am. :P
Talked to my mom again today, and started to cry again... It was a very hard cry too- there was a lot that was happening..
Some people need them "to defend themselves"
Other people enjoy things like hunting and shooting at targets, simply for the sake of knowing how to do so.
I have rather mixed views on hunting...
Gtg sorry
[hugs Noelle]
*hugs Adra* :/
Awww... :((
*hugs Noelle*
@Star/Dugg: ... I do, too.
I like maths.
My additional maths exam last years was the best exam, because I just had, like, 3 hours to do maths questions and it didn't matter how I did at all and it was just chilled and yeah:):)
But I don't really like STATS in maths, Bexause I have conditioned myself not to, probably.
Still, :)
(Chnaged to phone, will typo and slow)
I'm sorry Adwa. *kerpootles*
I know there isn't, but is there anything I can do?
Bye Fabi!
*hugs Noelle*
Scary voice: DUUUUUUUUG EEEEEEEMAAAAAIIIIIIIL
*shrieks at the scary voice and goes to check it*
Ever since I got crushed, I can't sit straight because it feels like something is wrong with my ribs...
Come live in the Shire...
I must go. Good night, you awesome people!
@tanya: why are you amazing? :)
*hugs Adra tightly* :(
Se eyou, Fabi!
(Hey, Danni! What!? What happened?)
Good night, Dug.
Have you seen a medical professional about it, Death?
(@Taia I'm not and that's not relevant.)
Night, Tanya! *hugs*
@rose: Can you see a doctor any time soon? :/
I like maths. It's relaxing. It's just not interesting to me. :P And I rate things highly on their interest value.
SHIT IT'S MIDNGIHT WHEN DID THIS HAPPEN. O_O
*carries on nodding at you intelligent peopel discussing guns*
@tanya: you are, and I very much object. :)
*gently hugs ROSE*
:/
I read a book that takes place in Seattle Washington and I have to write a postcard from one of the characters to another character. I have to draw a stamp and my brother told me to do something like the space needle but I drew a pineapple.
Because I felt like it!
Night Tia! You're amazing!
*hugs Rose*
Scary voice: *pokes Dug*
Ah! I'm on it!
@Star: *nods* I think it is sometimes interesting.
Like, you said you"d read 'the curious incident of the dog in the nighttime', yeah?
There was a probability question in there, about a game show with three doors and two goats and a car, and there's a bit of detail and then what is the probability of getting the car?
And I found that interesting.
And also Zeno's tortoise paradox. Though that might not be maths, really. Idk.
But I think those are not representative of all of maths, and a lot of maths is not thatinteresting.
So I'm not really sire where I was going with that. Or wheere I got. But, yeah. :)?
Scary voice: *eats Dug's left eye**
At least England's gun laws make bloody sense, they prohibit the automatics...-Zaf
@Star: OH.
I was going to say that interest is a good way to rate tings like subjects, yes. :)
*wants to correct 'tings' because it makes me feel like Grim from Thre Grim Adventures Of Billy and Mandy, but phone awkwardness bah :P*
@Dugg: *laughs* you're jepic, Dugglyn. :)
Yey! Go England!
*looks at time*
O_O
*rubs out '12' and replaces it with '9'*
(Sil xD)
@Sil: xD (again! :P)
Shh
Oh wait...that'd make the date wrong...
*rubs out the date and time*
*replaces it with 'October 27, 2014 9:16'*
*growls at Voice*
Why does everyone eat Trip!?
Scary Voice: Trip is tasty.
Scary voice: Email
@Taia: They talk to us about that problem at school. The Monty Hall problem. I've had it explained to me various times and now I understand it. I feel like explaning it now, but I'm not sure I can be bothered. :P
. . . Um, yes. But maths doesn't fascinate me like a lot of things do. :P
@Sil: that is much better. *nods*
Although, if we're manipulating time, can't we send it back to friday night and then we get a little longer on 1/2-term? :P
Bruised and bleeding..
@Star: oh, we never did at school.
:P *couldnt, either :P*
And, yeah, that's fair. :)
Adra..? :(:(
Sorry, I'm gonna go.
I have a lot of work tomorrow.
*hugs Adra/Noelle, because I don't know what I can do, but care a lot and really hope that might help even a tiny bit*
*hugs Silente, too; and Dugg and Star and anybody else who's distant/lurking*
Bye, all!
I just had the most buzzare essay. I had to write a stry using technology fictional or real, so I took Loki's sceptre since it's a form of technology and classified as sci fi. My poor teacher....I warned her since day one I was mental and she still thinks I deserved what I got in TDOTL because I was 'a villian'. I was misguided by a handsome Golden Eyed man.....seductive too...-Zaf
MY EYES ARE BURNING...
Here's a scene the Frosty siblings wrote out, I hope Rose sees.-Zaf
Zanida: *has taken Loki's sceptre* I am Loki of Asgard-
And I am burdened with glorious purpose. Hand it over, you would fail miserably as me.
Zanida: Well can I at least be in costume?
I bet we could ask Frigga who is who and you would be found first.
Zanida: Make me look like you, and you me.
*Cries*
I'm sorry.
*hugs Adra*
What's wrong?
How can I help you, Adra?
You know, if the whole crying thing is doing nothing maybe you need mental help, I mean you think nobody wishes to help and you don't tell them what is wrong, you can't help what you don't know. I'm not a Sensitive.-Zaf
Zaf..please no fights...it's stupid o'clock in the morning for some of us..
*hugs Adra and Zaf*
*pulls Adra, Zaf and Sil into one hug*
I'm here got you.
Squash..
Not fighting...-Zaf
EL & DUG http://whatchewlookinat.blogspot.co.uk/2014/10/help-me.html
@Zaf good..
...
:/
:(
*hugs Adra tightly*
I think I'll let the Asgardians dedicate.-Zaf
I dedicate this page to my son and daughter and beautiful wife whom I missed today.
I dedicate to happiness. Many of you don't know my story, and to be honest it's not normal. I always had a crush on Thor, but we thought ourselves to be cousins. Years ago, Odin assigned me to watch Loki, and so I watched him. I argued he argued...the usual. Then one day he used the sceptre to lure me into the weapons vault and then lifted the spell so I could be aware. I was forced to touch the Casket, and when I looked like him, we questioned Odin who told me my parentage. Then....well I still watched Loki but Thor and I hung out until well we got here today.
I use that as an example, you can find happiness in the strangest ways, it comes in the darkest of times. Fill in the blank "Happiness is ___."
So my dear Midgardian acquaintances, listen to my advice.
-Zanida Laufeydottir
Adra...
I'm sleepy.
Night.
Adra- maybe you should try talking to someone, I don't know if you are, but maybe getting whatever upsets you out will help. Don't keep it bottled up, it'll eventually explode.
-Zaf
Night Zaf!
*huggles Adra/Noelle*
If there's anything I can do to help let me know..
Add on since a very annoying Asgardian King wouldnt let me continue.
Also, have we mentioned the Midgardian who writes this blog? Give Derek credit, the man managed to write Nine+ books, he deserves it. I have read how much he cares for the ones he calls Minions, I may not be of Midgard, but I find that a neat thing.
-Zanida
*stares*
Hmm..
Zaf is five hours behind me and she's going to sleep...maybe I should sleep...that might be logica- *remembers* oh. yeah. Right.
You might wanna sheep Sil, you're going to be really tired....
Why are you staying up so late?
Cause I know I'm not going to sleep well tonight.
*Eats a Crunchie*
*Finishes*
*Starts eating another Crunchie*
*hugs deathles*
Also I'm not that sleepy..
*Huggles Sil*
You should sleep.
The librarians want to kill me... Lol
*refuses to sleep too*
Hello, Duggy and Rose. How are you?
(Good night Zaf!)
*Shoves a rag doused in chloroform over Sil's mouth*
Feel sleepy now?
*glares at Blake*
*rips the rag from her mouth and throws it away*
You need to use more than that.
Well I'm sure I could find some high-quality tranquilizers somewhere on Sophia's ship if that would work.
*Smiles back innocently*
I doubt it would.
Hopefully not the end.
Bruises and blood.
Tumbling down the stairs.
Snapping wood
Snapping necks.
Grade raise
Social fall
Emotional implosion
Slice
*leaps in front of Silente*
I'd like to see you try!
*snarls*
(*breathes so as not to rant* *breathe* *breathe* *BREATHE*)
Adra, Adra!?
*slowly rolls through blogland like a tumbleweed, but human*
(@Sil the reason I blocked my parents on fb)
(Hey, Snuuuu!
How are you?)
*hugs Sil*
I'm sorry.
(Okay. Better. Going to lace my dad and stepdad's drinks with salmonella but otherwise better.)
Sick and trying to work out how to contact my mum because she left her phone here with me.
@Snuuuu :(
Flares?
I hope you get better soon.
Well. My eyes have stopped hurting. Wonder if I can last 24 hours..
It's so quiet..
Silente, go to sleep this instant.
Hey Fabi! How are you?
I'm good.
Now.
Go.
To.
Sleep.
But..I wanna talk...and I'm not tired..and I wanna try for 24 hours..
Silente, you may not feel tired now, but as you may or may not have noticed, you've had negative emotions lately. While I'm sure a number of these come from actual events that have taken place, sleep deprivation can contribute negatively towards how you react to said events. It can enhance feelings of sadness and depression. You haven't been sleeping well lately, and you've been feeling...less than perfect. There is a strong correlation, and if you really need me to drag out my binder from last year, find all the sleep deprivation articles and write you a three-page essay complete with annotated bibliography, I will. I understand that the very fact of having said negative emotions means that you have less motivation to fix things. However, I'd like to think that you are intelligent enough to realize what you're doing to yourself and at least attempt to remedy it.
I forgot you studied psychology..
(I actually don't really though I've been wanting to for some time now. That's not the point though. Sleep)
(Ugh. But I don't like sleeeep..)
(Sheep sheep sheep sheep!! I'll reply to your email in the morning after you sheep!
I'm getting ready to sheep right now! (Granted it is only 8:55 p.m. which is kinda early but I'm tired..)
Silente, if you like being awake, you should sleep so you can be as awake as possible tomorrow.
(You're blackmailing me with email? It's already morning! Reply and then I'll sleep, promise. *nods*)
*nods to what Fabi said*
Exactly.
Now personally love sheep... I look forward to going to sleep.
(I hate sheep...I means I can't talk to you guys..it's a burden.)
Well not exactly. I'm actually going to go to sheep now...
As in a couple minutes.
Do you promise?
It's four in the morning, we should be sleeping, Sil!
(Good night Duggy, Fabi and Sil!)
I promise that if you reply to my email I'll reply back then put the computer down and sleep. Okay?
X
Trust me Sil, we love talking to you but we care enough about (a lot about you!!! <3) that we look past our selfish urge to talk to you to make you sheep! It's better for you!! And if you don't you won't feel good! And we want you go feel good and be happy so shhhhhheeeeeeeeeepppppp!!!!!!!!!!!
You'll be asleep. It'll be morning before you know it.
Ahem. What does the cross (X) mean, hmm?
...
Nothing...
Thought so.
Good night.
Nuh! Reply! I promise I sleep if you reply!
-_-
...
I'm so bad at not replying to people when they want me too....
(Or staying mad but I'm not currently mad.)
(*hugs Duggy* Reply to da email den I SLEEP. Promise.)
(why am I using baby speak?)
(-_-*sighs*
I replied.
NOW SHEEP!!!!!!!)
(FINE!)
(...when we say sleep...half hour counts yes? *grins*)
-________________-
Sleep, Sil, please.
(That'd be a no then..)
(You too Tia..)
GUYS SHEEP!!! I'M 9 HOURS BEHIND YOU AND I'M GOING TO SHEEP!! 0.0
Goodnight! :))) <3
Bye, Duggy!
My eyes hurt :(
Go. To. Sleep.
Otherwise, I will completely ignore your existence for a week.
Tia, you need sleep, too. I'll stay up and try to talk sense into Sil. It's not that late for me.
Goodnight Dug.
Goodnight Tia.
See y'all in your nightmares.
Ignore me for a week??
Save me from the dark thing I've become...
Except to tell you to go to sleep, of course.
Gotosleepsilente
Andalsotia
TIA SLEEP NOW! EYES CLOSED HEAD DOWN!
Silente, you're allowed two more messages. If you write more than that, I will ignore you for a day.
Good night!
*grunts* meanie.
*fades into the shadows and lurks*
SLEEP.
SLEEP.
SLEEP.
SLEEP.
SLEEP.
SLEEP.
SLEEP.
SLEEP.
SLEEP.
nine..wow..
You know what?
I'm going to stop talking to you now. I think you're enjoying this.
Goodnight Fabi
my way of doing homework, or work in general, is to right a king of basis (like, a list or something to do with the task) and then just stare at it until an idea jumps out at me.
I've never met anyone who does it the same way.
(Hello.)
(I will continue to be here.)
