She didn't make one little noise to alert the others as she started towards the back door. She was going to slip out into the night. She got to the back door, opened it silently, placed Marrok back inside, and darted into the forest. She needed a moment. She needed to breathe. But as she ran into the darkness, she wasn't sure if she would be returning. Part of her wanted to stay by Roland, but another part wanted her to keep running.
*Marrok was sitting by the back door, he was whimpering and the started howling, hoping that Rose would come back.
Roland came in with Ariana in his arms, she was almost asleep. He looked around the kitchen. No Rose. He started to feel that tight and panic-stricken feeling in his chest.
Did she leave him? Like everyone else did, where did she go?
He patted the side of his leg for Marrok to follow him.*
Roland: Come little one, it's time to get you two to bed, it's late.
*The cub didn't move, he just let off one last howl before he reluctantly followed Roland out of the kitchen.*

*Roland was humming to Ariana as she fell asleep in his arms. He tucked her into her bed and made sure he was safe.
He commanded Marrok to sit as he went to get the blanket. He put the blanket over two pillows and let Marrok settle down beside Ariana's cot.
He backed up out of the quiet room and he went straight to the living room.
He stoked the fire and then started pacing up and down. His wings were flapping nervously and he was starting to pull at his hair. He was mumbling to himself.*
Roland: Why has she left me? Have I done something wrong? What about Ariana? What could I have done wrong? I don't understand it...
*He kept pacing, his hair pulling becoming more tighter and frequent.*

*She tilted her head as an upstairs light turned off. She listened carefully. There was a one creaky stair which sounded and she traced Roland's movements. He was in the living room. The light from the fire, through countless reflections, brightened and a shadow kept blocking it out. She watched the shadow. She wanted to be by his side. But she needed to feel the cold. When a chill started to grasp her with its frozen hands, she walked through the back door and into the kitchen. She sat on the counter, still watching a reflection of a figure moving in front of the light*
Sophia: Maybe he will. Then I'll have to kill you both. *grabs Silente's cuffed wrists and points her pistol into her back, and steers her towards where her ship is hovering*
*Roland stopped pacing. The pain in his chest was getting too much to bear. One hand was clutching his chest and the other was furiously pulling at his hair. He lowered himself down against the couch. He sobbed.*
