AOH Trailer

Book trailers are a tricky thing. When they're done badly, they're a little cringey and vaguely embarrassing. But when they're done right, they're AWESOME.

And because we have the incomparable Mr Tom Percival working on our trailers, we pretty much fit into the awesome category every single time.

I love the fact that it's time to release this. We have other stuff yet to be released/announced, such as what EXACTLY the Theatre of Shadows is and how it can involve everyone around the world. We're always trying to find ways to include our far-flung readers in the fun, and I think we've come up with something special.

But enough from me... Behold the awesome.

(Goodbye Elleni - and for the record, being a Spectre dictates I will have to intervene. Perhaps without the murder part - murder is illegal. When I kill someone, it is perfectly legal - so therefore not murder. But brutal is fine by me.)

*Her fingers were crushed, the splinters were crushed, the dust was crushed until there was no substance left in her hands. Still, she stared up at the celing, trying to keep her breathing even. Keir was getting flustered. He was angry that she hadn't started screaming yet.

He took a rusty saw off the wall and pressed it against her wrist. She didn't look at him. She could feet the jagged teeth on her soft skin and muttered as it tore her flesh. When it hit bone, Keir got the reaction he was looking for.

She screamed as writhed and bucked against her restraints. She sobbed and tried to kick out, tried to get away, but the shackles kept her there*

Keir: Now we're talking...

(I'm not sure what has happened.)

(Rose was taken earlier today and Ellissa has been standin in for her. Now Rose is being tortured... Just coz... And because I haven't written a good torture scene in a while...)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(So I can still find Rose.)

Jophiel said...

(Yeah)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

*checks her computer, wondering where Rose is* *gets an unusual reading* Shit.

I won't be on till either late tonight or not at all. I have a lot o stuff after school. :/)

Jophiel said...

*She cursed and writhed and swore and writhed again. There was a knife in her ribs, and every few seconds Keir would turn it slightly, pull it, push it, grate it against her ribs. She was sobbing, her hands clenched tightly into fists, one hand half cut off*

Rose: Please... Stop...

Keir: No, this is a lot more entertaining than sitting somewhere and watching television. This is fun.

Jophiel said...

(Okay, Forge!

*Cuddles*)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(Hello Dugglyn.)

*goes to her ship, plotting the coordinates into the galaxy map* *her ship starts flying towards Rose's location*

Jophiel said...

*Her scream reached a new pitch when a knife hit the muscles and tendons a connecting her shoulder to er neck. Her head lolled to the other side and she muttered something*

Keir: We both know that you do not mean that, Rose.

*She muttered something else, her mind going lucid and starting swim*

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

*her ship hovers several metres above the ground* *lowers the cargo ramp, drawing her machine gun from her back* *powers up her weapon, then drops down, using her energy to slow her fall*

Jophiel said...

*Keir paused and looked to the stone roof, shaking his head*

Keir: Wait here... I hear something...

Rose: Becuase I can totally move... You bastard...

*He laughed and jogged up the stairs to his average little house. He looke around, eventually deciding to go outside to check what that noise was*

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

*takes cover behind a tree as she hears him approach, her weapon aimed between two branches and ready to fire*

Jophiel said...

*Keir scanned the sky, then around him, frowning. Eventually he shrugged and meandered back inside and into the basement. This time, he took a heavy mace from the corner of the room. The sight of it made Rose scream*

Rose: No!! Not that!! Please!! Not again!!

*He didn't listen, nor did he care. He raised it over one shoulder and swung it down heavily on her arm. The bones crunched and shattered, making her scream*

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

*runs to the house, stepping inside, moving as quietly as possible* *pushes a button on the communicator on her ear, a holographic visor appearing over her eyes, equipped with several sensors and a crosshair for better aiming* *hears Rose's screams*
*starts moving towards the basement*

Jophiel said...

*Keir swung the mace again, over her sternum this time, and she gagged, coughed and struggled to breathe. The spikes had got her lung. And she was certain something had snapped. She couldn't scream. She couldn't breathe*

Rose: Please...

Keir: Now, why should I? You did kill my wife and children...

Rose: I'm sorry... I... It was merely a job....

Jophiel said...

(Msd... Wifi issues...)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

*walks into the basement, aiming at Keir and pulling the trigger, firing in full-auto at him*

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(No problem, Rose. I will most likely be here for the rest of the afternoon/evening.)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(I don't murder. I kill.)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(Goodbye, Elleni.)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(You can't kill unless you have my authority to do so. And I would like to kill Zafira myself.)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(You can murder whoever you want. You can only kill if I am present. I don't make the laws - I uphold them. I can kill legally.)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(If ensuring galactic peace makes you crazy - yes, I am.)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(I am not breaking any laws. I am not bound by civilian law - as long as I do not kill lots of innocent people, everything is fine. That is effectively the only rule there is.)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(As long as I am present and you work for me during the process, yes.)

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

(Well at least you two are agreeing on something. That's always good.
Hello.)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(Hello, Silente.)

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

(You two appear to be plotting.)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(With me, for me, whatever you choose to call it. You'd better be my ally, Elleni - you don't want me as an enemy.
The fact is, however, as long as you don't get in my way or slow me down - there is a higher probability of success if there are more of us.)

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

(Oh. Arguing. Damn. I was so hopeful! What are you arguing about?)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(She wishes to murder. I am trying to convince her to kill.)

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(Zafira.)

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

(*sighs* of course it's Zaf you're arguing over killing.)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(The first is alright, I somewhat agree with the second point - although I hate to pull rank, I am a Commander, and a Spectre - so I outrank you. And I agree with the last part. I do, however have power to enforce the law by any means necessary.)

Star Inkbright said...

WILL YOU PEOPLE FUCKING STOP SPOILERING THIS FOR ME ALREADY?

It is my book too. It is the last SP book I will ever read. So please, DON'T tell me your reactions, and DON'T fucking tell me the chapter names!!!

Oh my gosh! I am not asking anything unreasonable of you! If you want to react, you have plenty of people you have read the book, and furthermore, you can just go email yourself! I am really not asking much of you! I am not asking you to do anything that I would not readily do myself without even needing to be asked!

-_-

Honestly.

(and if you've never spoiled it in any way for me, well done. *hugs*)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(I think the answer is obvious, Silente.)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(Dragona agrees with you, Star.)

Star Inkbright said...

I am sorry, maybe I need to be angry because hopefully the angerwill distract me from the memories of the spoilers.

THERE IS A FUCKING SPOILER POST WHERE YOU CAN REACT WITHOUT READING THE COMMENTS, GUYS

If you have soemthing to say, SAY IT IVER THERE. Spoiler posts never get filled, you can spam them to death. Will anyone gain anything but anger and disappointment from reading about you posting the chapter titles everywhere? No.

Star Inkbright said...

Woah, that was pretty insane anger . . .

Sorry. :)

*gets angry moments as well as sad, happy and excited ones*

Star Inkbright said...

*hugs Silente* :)

Hmm. I read back over me being angry and it didn't feel as angry as it did in my head.

You know when everything kind of goes . . . like . . . to that new level?
Adrenaline, I think that's it.
I was over there. :)
Yeah . . .

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

(No but it feels like sandpaper.)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(That would make sense.)

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

(It feels a lot like sandpaper. It hurts.)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(Dragona makes sense when he plays Mass Effect.
If someone tries to kill you and gets their bodyguards on you, you're going to shoot them.
The only time he does actually make any sense.)

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

(Surely that's not the ONLY time he makes sense...)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(He doesn't often make sense.
Then again, I do advise him how to play Mass Effect.)

Star Inkbright said...

@Sophia: XD *laughs*

@Silente: I'll stay up as late as you do. *comparatory grin C:*

Mmhhhhhhhh idk. I have faith in Elleni's reactions. And she mentioned that I was debating about it, which means it was worth debating about. :P

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

(..maybe he just doesn't make sense to you...)

Star Inkbright said...

Yeah, everyone makes sense in a way . . .
Even Hunter.
Although I'm not even sure Hunter makes sense to Hunter. O_O

Star Inkbright said...

Dragona makes a sense to ME . . .

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(Most of my advice consists of "renegade" "renegade" "no, don't say nice things to them", "definitely shoot them" "renegade" "renegade".

Of course he doesn't make sense to me. That's why I said he doesn't make sense.)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(Yes, Star, but you are confusing and odd.)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(Is this another moment where people randomly disappear?)

Star Inkbright said...

@Sophia: XD

@Sophia: Thanks. :P I got that.

So there's this vocab website that we can practise German vocab on, and we create a login and then we log in (duh) and then we practise vocab, and every week my German teahcer announces who's practised the most. Except he's only made one announcement so far beacuse it's only the first full week of term. And he put the leaderboard on the board and my whole class was reading down the list and there were all names like "Beth McIntyre" and "Jasmeet Shoker" and "Darcie Annan" and "Emily Cleveland" and "Katie Walker", and then my whole class was like "WHAAAAAAT WHO'S STAR INKBRIGHT" and I was just like "*dies of embarrassment*"

Star Inkbright said...

@Sophia: Yup. :P Sorry.

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(It's no problem.

And that might not have been a good idea.)

Star Inkbright said...

@Sophia: Maybe not. :P

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(The more I speak to you people, the more I am sure that I am sane.)

Star Inkbright said...

@Sophia: How do you know that you're insane and we're all sane?

Star Inkbright said...

(For the record, if I am seeming to not respond to you, I am sorry, I will just be avoiding your comment for fear of spoilers.
I would not do this if you had not given me reason to fear, so it's your own fault.)
(Or, y'know, I'll forget, but still.)

Star Inkbright said...

(Plus I also forget people naturally so if I miss a comment, that doesn't mean I'm mad at you. :P)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

Star Inkbright said...

@Sophia: XD

And - you shoudl do, books are amazing. But yeah. :) *doesn't fear spoilers from you* *or Dragona, for that matter*

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

I was not hating on anything, I was simply stating it was insane.)

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

(It's not insane!!!)

Star Inkbright said...

@Sophia: Fiction books are as useful as hell. :P

@Silente: Be The Glue is insane. But in a good way. :)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(Living in the real world is invaluable.)

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

(*mutters about insanity*)

Star Inkbright said...

@Sophia: Fictional books are real worlds. Just alternate realities. Books have taught me more about life than anything in the 'real world' ever has.
I remember in the acknowledgements of one of the Mistborn books, the author was thinking someone for teaching them about "life (and therefore writing)."
Books are basically life. The more you know about one, the more you know about the other.

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(There is enough shit happening in the real world as we're talking, without piling all that shit with fictional shit happening to a fictional person.
Do you think all of the people who live in fear, those who live in poor conditions - do you think they're glad people are too busy reading to do anything about it?)

Ebony Law said...

(I don't think this argument is necessary.. Everyone on this blog is here because they enjoy reading, and they enjoy reading Skulduggery Pleasant books.
Which, news flash, is a series of fiction novels. There is no need to bring poverty or anything of that matter into this conversation.)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(This is not an argument. This is a discussion.)

Star Inkbright said...

@Caelan and Sophia: I would call it more a DEBATE. And Sophia is actually here because her author likes reading SP. :P

@Sophia: That is true.
But how would we know how to deal with it if we didn't read?

Ebony Law said...

Call it whatever you like, that is not the point.

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(Listen to the television and the radio with adverts for charities. They help people - donate money to them. Go and look on their websites so you can know where your money is going.
Or just simply read non-fiction books about the subject.)

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

(Hello Caelan. How are you? How is everyone?)

Inky Flame said...

(new post guys)

Ebony Law said...

I think you're focusing too much on the materialistic value here, Sophia.

First of all, I'm fairly sure that if an author is writing stories about those in need, a fair amount of the money received for the novel would be sent to those people.

Secondly, a novel holds a great deal of value and meaning. It can be the path to discovery, to happiness, to new interests. You never know. That's the beauty of it. Perhaps it's just for entertainment.

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

As I said - it is only a possibility, however.)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

Unfortunately for those who are fairly sensible, there are those who have no sense at all - and they will die.)

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(I do not wish to participate in that, Elleni. There is a limiting factor of ten people per room - which is a very large flaw.)

Star Inkbright said...

I remember in The Psychopath Test when this psychopath was crying and saying he just wanted people to like him, and the autgor asked him why, and he said it was because if people liked him it was easier to manipulate them.
The author told this to another psychopath who'd been imprisoned for about a decade. His reaction was "Oh my gosh, I never thought of that." Two months later, he was released.

People may see being nice as a waste of time, but if people like you it's awfully advantageous. If Sophia was more nice then maybe instead of trying to gether out the way, people would realise she's the person being the most sensible round here.

Star Inkbright said...

@Sophia: Yeah, but they don't like you, so they're not listening to you. *shrugs*

Which is rather idiotic of them.

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

(Hey! I shouldn't be falling asleep this time! If I do ill be late for school.)

Mémoire Perdue said...

I am dreadfully sorry. An estranged power outage took away the electricity.

Now, where were we?

*I smirk again, folding my arms over my chest, the metal plating of my armour clinking against itself*

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

(Exactly, Star - they only see what they choose to see.)

Mémoire Perdue said...

(Who is Rose?)

*My smirk turns into a grin as I look at Elleni*

Good. I believe that there is someone that could lighten this place up a little.

*I walk towards the girl, towering over her, and take her throat in my hand. I raise her off the ground, searching her face*

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

*sighs, drawing her pistol and aiming it at the back of Yves' head* Drop the girl.

Mémoire Perdue said...

(No. And I am male...)

*My mask absorbs the flame and I laugh, holding her neck tighter*

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

*stares and stumbles away from Yves and El*

Mémoire Perdue said...

*I laugh again, turning slowly to Sophia*

I believe that I shall do no such thing.

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

There are two ways of ending this: You let Elleni go, and I will let you walk away. Or you will have a round from this weapon embedded in your brain and Elleni goes free anyway. It is entirely up to you.

Mémoire Perdue said...

*I curse and shake the flames off*

You are a little bit annoying, aren't you?

Mémoire Perdue said...

You could do me no harm, this armour would absorb it.

Mémoire Perdue said...

*The metal begins to melt but the armour quickly reforms*

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

*her arms begin to glow blue* What if you have no armour left? Drop Elleni. Now.

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

*still hyperventilating*

Mémoire Perdue said...

*My armour freezes for a moment as it works out how to defend against the stasis. I grab Elleni's arm and pull her back towards myself*

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

*waves her hand, and Yves' skin begins to peel away and float away from him as glowing blue particles* Let's make this easier, hm?

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

*starts backing away from all of them, fear in her eyes*
W-what's h-h-h-happening!

Mémoire Perdue said...

Oh, now that is a neat little trick.

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

*it continues to rip him apart again, regardless*

*lifts him up into the air with her biotics, slamming him into the ground*

Snow said...

Hhhhmmmmmm

Mémoire Perdue said...

*I look at the girl hyperventilating and make my way over to her*

Come here.

*The armour replenishes my energy. When I am slammed to the ground, it absorbs the impact*

Jai (Silente Tempest - St Of Sinners) said...

N-n-n-no...

Mémoire Perdue said...

*His helmet absorbed the impact*

How are you doing this. I haven't seen someone do something similar in quite some time.

Commander Sophia Keating (N7 Operative and Council Spectre) said...

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

((No, I wish could get in contact with Rose))

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

((Phone spelling, sorry. What's up, El? Did something happen to Rose?))

Snow said...

Pfffft

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

And how can we help?

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

Good night, El!

Snow said...

I really don't feel like being Snow for a bit. I just ended her story and I think she needs a break where her name isn't being used.

So I'll be going by Jen because it's kinda my name, irl. Though my name is longer.

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

Sure thing, hi Jen!

Snow said...

Hey. (If it really feels weird, you can still call me Snow. I just needed my display name changed out of respect)

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

((So, is everything usually this quiet at this time? Do you have school today?))

*looks around Borderlands*

Such a barren place I've never seen in my travels.

No fucking way..

The test had a class raw average of 55%, and a top score of 100%. After weighting her workbook, Dannielle's score of 30% was worthy of a UG. She needs to re-do the test. Dannielle has demonstrated in her test that she can handle some of the standard straightforward questions. However she found it was difficult when it came to composite shapes and the applications of Pythagoras Theorem.

Dannielle needs to ensure she practises more these types of questions and understands the techniques when she does her works next time. I encourage Dannielle to put on more efforts in doing practice questions and show me with her workbook. I look forward to working with her again next term.

There is no fucking way that happened.

Because I actually cheated. I used my iPod to work out the answers, along with the notes on my hand.

There is no fucking way that just happened.

And you didn't even come and check around, you stupid pig. There should be no 'Needs Attention' stamp there.

AND I DO NOT SPEND THE WHOLE TIME IN FRONT OF MY LAPTOP, you swine.

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

((Bloody maths, it sucks so much!))

Jophiel said...

No, but you don't understand. This sub doesn't give a shit about us.

So, in turn, we don't give a shit about her.

And now she's got it out for me, that bloody cow.

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

Hey, I've met several subs who did that. Heck, we even had a teacher who left (just ran away) in the middle of term (which shows you how much he cares about students)

But I just find maths to be stupid. I'm better at it than most people in my school, but I hate it. I don't do it.

Which doesn't really help you... I don't know what to tell you if you truly have such a terrible sub.

Jophiel said...

She's horrible...

I want to switch out, because apparently I've failed my last two tests... And they're both since I've had her.

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

That would probably be a good idea, will the school allow that?

Jophiel said...

Next year I can...

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

In a years time??? That's ridiculous, I thought subs were temporary.

Jophiel said...

No, this one was supposed to remain a sub but the original teacher left...

Sorry, im really distant...

Tanya Halcyon (Kas) said...

((Well, I guess there is only one thing to do and that is make the most of it (and get revenge?) So, you know, take care))

Jophiel said...

(Yeah...)

Jophiel said...

Hey Jen.

*Roland woke and sat up in the bed. He stretched his arms as his wings flapped slightly against the pillows. He looked down to see a sleeping Rose beside him.
He then looked under the covers. No clothes.

He blushed and then smiled. He really did love this woman. He lay back down, his hands behind his head.*

Jophiel said...

*She smiled softly and rolled over, looking at Roland, a smile tugging at the corners of her lips. She felt his wings before she rested her head on his shoulder and took his hand*

You're beautiful... I hope you know that... You're beautiful, and I love you so much...

*She kissed his arm and looked up at him*

Emerald Melody said...

*Roland kissed her head and sighed contently.*

Roland: You are beautiful also, do not forget. I have never felt like this before in my life and you are the only one to make me feel like this.
I love you too Rose.

So what shall we do today?

Snow said...

(hey Deathy, Em. It's Snow, incase you didn't read up)

Jophiel said...

*She grinned and nuzzled his chest*

You're different from the boys I've had in the past... Your special...

*She giggled and sat up, one hand pressing the Blakey's to her chest*

Well, first off, you'll give me your shirt... And then we should go out. Go for a proper picnic somewhere sunny and warm and quiet.

Emerald Melody said...

*Roland chuckled as he reached down onto the floor, he grabbed the shirt and dangled it in front of Rose.*

Roland: I was thinking of giving Ariana her first swimming lesson in the lake. We could have our picnic also.

Also if you are going to wear my shirt today, what about me?
