And I am finished.
Well, "finished" is maybe the wrong word. There are still two short chapters to write — detailing Scapegrace's little adventure - but basically, essentially, that's it. I'm done. I've just sent the official first draft of The Dying of the Light over to Nick, my editor, and Michelle, my agent. They've both read a rough version a few weeks ago so I know there's not going to be much in the way of changes when I start editing next week. Which is a relief. And word count, you ask? Word count?
Well, at the moment, before the edit and missing two little chapters, the word count stands at 153,193. I can't find the exact count, but I think LSODM was about 161,000, so it'll be pretty close in size. I genuinely thought this would be a much smaller book, closer to Dark Days in terms of length. My editor, however, knew the word count would just explode once I started to do what I planned. The book is, he has told me, "hugely ambitious". So there's that.
And I'm glad it's taken me this long to write it, to be honest. I'm glad TDOTL is going to be a heavy, substantial book. It is the end, after all. It deserves to be weighty.
It has still to hit me, by the way. The fact that this IS the end. I think when the edit is finished it'll occur to me that there'll be no more Skulduggery books. Not exactly looking forward to that moment.
On a cheerier note, I've seen Tom Percival's rough sketch of the cover, and it will literally KILL YOU with feels.
Which, now that I think of it, probably isn't a cheerier note at all.
We have such cool ideas for the coming year, plenty of AMAZING events to announce, and I can't wait to let you all in on what we're planning. The next two days, in fact, I will be spending in a massive meeting about those very same events.
The Year of the Requiem is gonna ROCK.

Actually that could be why they gave us no warning this time, so we couldn't organise a meeting.
@Silente: Well, that's just screwed up.
Protest.
Like . . .
Send emails, get petitions signed.
#ChaseForBookNine
Nah I'll leave it. We tried that before as a group and it did nothing. Less likely to do anything now. Especially if they use exams as an excuse.
@Silente: Like I said - if you're protesting or being emotionally screwed up, it is going to hinder rather than help you.
#ChaseForBookNine
*hugs Silente* That sucks. :(
I don't know what advice I can give. :/
But...
idk. Our two schools, if people have friends in the other, even though they can't meet at lunchtimes unless you're SNEAKY or quick, they often will get by through meeting before & after school, and text messages in between.
So, if you can find time to meet up not at lunch break but before and after school-time, and perhaps you could exchange texts over your lunches where you can? :/
Perhaps you could raise word between your friends and try to see if you can get a compromise between your school's system and the needs of the pupils? If you had enough people protesting sensibly/reasonably, explaining your reasoning, perhaps they'd reconsider it?
#ChaseForBook9
Yeah but they'll claim it helps the year 11's with their exams. I'll deal with it.
@Silente: Yes, but if the year elevens are insisting it isn't . . .
#ChaseForBookNine
Sorry, I'm probably not helping. :/
#ChaseForBookNine
Its fine star. I'm just sick of being pushed around by our stupid unacceptable school. They think they can control us and it just pisses me off and hurts me.
((How would it help the year elevens with their exams? o0
A staggered lunchtime would make NO difference to me WHATSOEVER, and if anything would just complicate stuff so increase stress, because you have to deal with new lunch times and things. I mean, OK, I'd maybe get food quicker, but if that was going to be a problem for some reason, I'd make a sandwich or something instead.
I can't see a reason how it would help with exams, at least with a school system how I know it. o0 )
#CHaseForBook9
Well originally the year elevens had last lunch. They've been moved to first. I get that this'll help them but it also causes stress to them. And at least of my year eleven friends have ended up crying over this.
*hugs Silente*
If you can't fix it, my advice would be to think about the goods things in your life at the moment, and to focus on that which makes you happy. :)
#ChaseForBookNine
@Silente: There you go.
School, idiots. -_-
#ChaseForBookNine
I'll find a way to stay happy. Thanks for the support guys. Your all great.
@Silente: Meh.
I'm not that great. :P
Thanks, though.
Although I'm not sure what I'm thanking you for.
*frowns*
I mean, I'm not sure why you have given me cause to thank you in return, because I am because you thanked me, and I am unsure why I am worthy of that thanks.
Yeah; irl, I make even less sense than this - and then you wonder why I can't explain anything to anyone. :P
I probably need to go now, though. D: Rockclimbing. Fours!
#ChaseForBookNine
Bye star.
Bye Star
*hugs Silente*
*hugs chi*
I need a distraction. Wanna plaaaaaaay?
I'm going something the now so i'll play after dinner.
@Tempest: Sometimes schools struggle to understand how concepts that SEEM like good ideas might really not be.
Like, last year our school introduced an 'outdoor lunch' rule, which is that if it's not raining much, we're not allowed indoors. Like primary school.
And it sucked, because if you had work to do, and it's BEEN raining/snowing so that the few benches they HAVE outside are wet, you can't really sit down, and so how the hell are you supposed to sit and do work if you're not allowed to sit at a desk (or at least on the floor in the corridor, which I'm not going to start about :P) or put your papers/books down?
And they say it's so that the corridors will be cleaner, and that is RIDICULOUS, because if you send all 1800 of us outside, there's going to be a LOT of litter ending up outside, which is WORSE, because at least indoors has cleaners. Nobody gets paid to sweep up on the grass, or in the parking lots or on the astro-turf.
AND they have to employ teachers to stand in the corridor ALL LUNCH shouting at people do get the hell out.
And, like, how is THAT a good idea.
But sometimes you can't persuade them against it, because to SOME of them, it's in the best interest. For the majority, it's NOT, but it's taken as petty complaining.
idk.
But I think the point that I was going to segue into was that sometimes there's not anything you can do to change it. And so you kind of just have to either rebel and sneaky work against it, which is hard, or just accept it, and exactly what Star said about focussing on what you DO have and how you CAN see each other and so on - which is also hard, but it's also probably the better answer?
(sorry, had to poof for a little while halfway through :P)
#ChaseForBook9
Okay then Chi.
Thanks Taia. Your school sounds quite stupid in that rules sense. I'll just deal with it.
doing*
Bye Star! *waves*
You expect for me to love you
When you hate yourself, my friend la
la la la la
Everybody, I love you
Everybody, I do
Though your heart is in anger
I need your love to get through
When I tell you I love you
You can believe that it's true
Everybody, I love you
Everybody, I do
CSN&Y. :)
#CHaseForBook9
@Silente* *nods*
:)
How are you doing, other than the sucky-school-thing? :)
#ChaseForBook9
Apart from that I'm pretty much fine. Little tired but yeah fine. This is a weird sight http://m.wikihow.com/Do-Something-or-Be-Somewhere-Discreetly-and-Not-Get-Caught
As is this one http://m.wikihow.com/Act-Yandere-Without-Being-Weird
Silenteee!~
*runs up and embraces her*
Hope you are okay! :(
*laughs* :P
#ChaseForBook9
MATEX!
*hugs him back tightly*
*sighs and relaxes more*
I'll be fine. I've faced worse shit and I'm still standing,
That's the spirit :)
*ruffles her hair*
school just sucks pretty much. I'm so glad to be out of there :|
(Msd :/ )
(That's fine I know its late over there)
Yeah your lucky. Even when I leave I've got college then uni! Yey!
*rolls her eyes*
If I get through it all it'll be a mirical.
no no, Uni is the best fun! It's waay better than school :)
Good! That makes me feel better. But isn't uni lonely, away from family? Although I suppose if you go to a local uni then that doesn't matter as much..
In my opinion moving away for uni is the best thing ever, everything is new and exciting, meeting lots of new people and having lots of freedom. I love this lifestyle :D Some people do get home sick, idk, I don't really haha, I kinda hate my hometown!
And uni has none of the bullshit you get in school like "lunch time" or "uniform" school is like a prison in comparison to uni >_>
Ah okay. I'm planning to go away for uni. When I get to that time. Although /hopefully/ I'll do better food wise than you
*winks at him*
School is a prison compared to /prison/ some of the buildings have bars on the windows, there's CCTV everywhere, that's a 8 foot fence surrounding the school. Its boring brick everywhere..just not very friendly.
Hahaha hey it was just bad timing! I usually have plenty of food >.<
OMG TODAY I BOUGHT WEETBIX AND CHOCOLATE AND CARROTS AND NOODLES. ITS EXCITING.
YEY FOOD! CHOCOLATE! MMMMMMM!
(Brick by boring brick? <3)
Haha yes om nom nom. OH AND I GOT POTATOES but I forgot to get corn. So I will get that tomorrow, then I can have baked potato filled with bacon and corn - SO DELICIOUS.
Hell yeah, moving away is fun, I think you'll love it :P Just gotta get through College first haha. (I don't know much about that, we don't have it :s)
(PARAMORE! <3)
college is after high school. Two years long. Hopefully it'll be quick and painless unlike school!
Haha I know roughly what it is :) Just no idea what it's like ._. sounds like a weird mix between the last year of school and the first year of uni XD
hopefully yep!
Do you listen to Paramore?
Love them! :D
YEY! Fav song?
Or songs..
MATEX-SAMA! *Tacklehugs*
Hey Chi. Wb. I see you're hugging ma man there.
Hahahaha! Hmm all time favourite is easily Misery Business, of course, but at the moment it is That's What You Get - I am literally playing it on guitar as we speak XD
Also don't mind Ain't It Fun! But I haven't listened to the new album much yet.
Hahaha Chi-Chan! *hugs*
Don't worry Silente ;)
I liked Misery Business, still do. I keep switching between favs though. As I get used to one I discover another. I love the only exception.
Oh I won't worry. Much.
*smirks looking slightly jealous*
haha yes ikr? hmm The Only Exception is pretty good although at the time it was played a bit too much haha.
*kisses Silente's forehead*
I'm still yours ;)
*it's the middle of the night*
*and outside the hotel, a storm rages*
*the guests are nestled, all snug in their beds*
*while visions of teacups dance in their heads*
*the hotel is creaking loudly from the force of the storm*
*and I run downstairs, in a nightgown and a bathrobe that flaps dramatically behind me*
*I start patting the walls and whispering soothingly to the panicking hotel*
Where the lines overlap and fences are good as well. All the songs really are good except for possibly the odd one or two.
*kisses matex*
Good. I rather like having you around.
*winks at him*
*stares in awe at the couple*
Hey Clara!
Don't cry . . . don't cry . . .
*soothingly strokes the wallpaper*
It's okay, baby, it's okay . . .
*thunder rumbles outside*
*the hotel creaks louder than ever*
No no no! Don't be scared!
*realizes that there's no way I'll get to sleep again*
*and I must stay here, in the lobby, to comfort the hotel*
*sits dejectedly in the swivel chair behind the check-in desk*
Hullo, all.
((Hullo Clara, how goes the search for your Shark in a suit?))
*furious blushing*
*the hotel creaks, as if laughing at me*
*mumbles something about not having seen him in a while*
Ms. Tempest, theoretically, I am constantly just outside of your field of vision.
Oooh I do especially love Fences <3 But yeah its all good :)
*grins* why thank you~
Also you have my email now so don't be afraid to send me a message if school is stressing you or anything like that! ^.^
*laughs at Chi-Chan*
Oh hello there Annika!
Hey Sir. Yes however that doesn't mean you interact. Or that we notice. How are you?
Hotel: *LOCK MOCKING CREAKS*
*shock*
*uncomfortable-ness*
*LOUD
Hi sir!
Matex-senpai and Chione-senpai, have you become Japanese this evening?
Good luck with that Matex, I usually keep my negative emotions in check. Even if that's not very smart.
*runs a hand over Matex's chest*
Greetings, Ms. Crowley, Ms. Tempest, Ms. Asahina, and Mr. Von Darkhour.
Indeed, Ms. Tempest. But, theoretically, I am still there. Judging.
Keeping them in check is smart. On the other hand, keeping them bottled up is not!
I'm not sure Annika, it sort of just happened yesterday ._.
Judging us all. Well at least you judge with reason.
*gets up*
*continues to soothingly pat the walls of the lobby*
*it occurs to me that I should probably move the hotel*
*grumbles angrily at the thought*
(Hai) Is that how you spell it in English? have no clue. I just guess really, I sound it out. I dunno. It's like just shouting 'hi' but it means yes and yada means no. Oh well.
Greetings Sir! ("von" replaces "mr" btw :P)
Keeping them bottled up isn't that bad. I like to think of shoving it in a backpack. Sure the backpack occasionally rips but that's easily patched up. Normally.
*smiles up at Matex*
Oh god Chi-Chan now you're going to confuse me, because I generally use "Hai" as a cute/accented version of "Hi"! I have no idea how the Japanese "yes" thingy is spelt ._.
*runs to the clock*
*bathrobe flapping, bat-like, behind me*
*and tries to adjust the hands*
Hotel: Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeh.
*gives the clock hands a violent tug*
*they won't budge*
. . .
Ah, apparently it IS spelt "Hai". Great, that will mess with me so bad -_-
Tsk tsk Silente that is not good! What you want is an empty backpack, cause then you're free to run and dance and be happy, and maybe even fly! But not while you're being weighed down with all that stuff :(
I'm confused too but meh! I want to learn Japanese so badly...And off of a proper Japanese person, not like a college or something because when you learn things in school and you HAVE to...that stops it being fun.
Oh I've grown used to it. Sure random stuff keeps getting added but you know what they say, 'The show must go on!' 'Gotta keep on trucking!' Etc
*sneaks down the hall*
*past the linen closet, full of snoozing towels*
*rifles through the utility closet, looking for my book of hotel maintenance spells*
*while also trying to avoid waking the guests*
*or, God forbid, the towels*
YES! *Dances happily*
I GOT SOMETHING RIGHT
*unearths a copy of my bestseller, Hotel Sabotage 101*
*when, when dipped in lemon juice under a full moon by the eighth son of an eleventh daughter in a patch of dry sand in the rainforest, reveals counter-spells for all 101 of the hotel sabotage tricks*
. . .
*throws it across the hall*
That won't do me any good.
*which
We'll just need to use "hi" or "hiya" instead of "hai" because that's Japanese for yes :3
You can learn Japanese off the internet! Although an actual Japanese person would be cool. But I started learning it myself and it was really fun but I don't have time at the moment. Oh my god though, the amount of "letters" they have it stupid ._.
*frowns down at Silente*
Nuuu. You're so silly. Either way I'm just saying you can talk to me if you want! :3
Why hai, it is.
I have a friend at school who wants to learn Japanese. I swear you two would get along so well.
Nah I'll just make sure to use something like "Haiii :3" for a greeting as opposed to "HAI!" for yes (I swear they only ever shout that word >.>)
I also watch a lot of anime so I know quite a few phrases already.
*slumps at the check-in desk*
I watch rather a lot of anime as well . . .
*sighs loudly at the storm outside*
*letting the storm know that I don't approve of it*
@Chi-Chan; I KNOW RIGHT? Anime is great for learning Japanese :')
Sure. I'll talk if I need to Matex. Promise.
*bops his nose*
And I'm not silly. Obviously I'm clearly the wises charming vampire you know.
*grins up at him*
**wisest
*furrows brow*
But...
but you're the only vampire I know..
*face clears*
Oh. Right! :P
And I'm the most suave and pulchritudinous Pyromancer/Black Mage that you know! *winks*
*mimes vomiting*
Exactly.
*nods*
*puts her arms around his neck*
((Shhh Clara. Just because you miss me! ;) ))
Miss you? You wish.
*laughs*
I wrote you nearly a hundred lines of poetry about how I don't miss you. Harrumph.
*enters the lift to the hotel basement*
*descends*
Matex what animes have you watched? :o
*puts hands on her hips and sways ever so slightly side to side*
Wait what is Annika mimevomiting about ._.
((Aww Clara! Don't lie!))
*steps out of the lift, into the basement*
*strolls around the portrait gallery*
You and Matex are somewhere in here . . . everyone's here . . .
*taps a frame*
Do you like them? I had each portrait painted by Basil Hallward.
..What anime's hav-WHAT KIND OF QUESTION IS THAT?!
*pulls out a giant stack of paper*
Shall we start alphabetically or chronologically? ;)
((They're beautiful Clara. Slightly weird collection to have, but beautiful))
She's mime vomiting about us I presume.
*sways with him*
*goes on her tip toes and kisses him gently*
*pulls back and grins*
*whispers in his ear*
Cause she's jealous.
*looks up at the portrait of Silente*
I think you are jealous of ME, m'dear Silente, just because I find a building a better conversation partner than you . . .
*pats the hotel wall*
*uses black magic to summon a single door standing on its own*
*opens door*
*the doorway leads into a vast multi-story library packed full of large tomes*
*gestures at the doorway and looks at Chi-Chan*
And this is my "Anime To Watch" list...
((*laughs* sure Clara. Super jealous. I'm the green eyed monster secretly))
*cackles madly, glorying in Silente's jealousy*
*the cackling softens as I realize my best friend is a hotel*
*the cackling turns to sniffling*
. . .
*brushes a strand of Silent's hair back as she leans in to whisper*
Hahaha yep Annika is totally jealous :D
*smiles up at him*
I worry about her, all alone with just the hotel and the towels. But then I realise she's crazy just like us and is probably fine. Then I get ice cream.
*nods*
*lays her head on his chest*
(DO I CALL YOU ANNIKA OR CLARA I AM SO CONFUZZLED.
IM GOING TO CALL YOU CLARANNIKASAN. OK. GOOD.)
Well next time you're worrying about Clarannikasan could you get me some icecream too? I love icecream >:D
*laughs crazily*
*hands on hips*
*indignant*
No one calls Clarannika-san crazy!
*looks around at my big room full of portraits of Bloglanders, nearly all of which were painted without their knowledge*
. . .
*Bursts onto the scene with a loud crash and slides to a stop in front of Chio*
*kisses her*
*Turns to everyone else*
Hullo :D
Ice cream is amazing. Except when it gives you brain freezes then its amazing and slightly irritating, but sure, ice cream for two from now on.
*hugs him closer*

I believe that is another similar word Anni. Silente I feel like I know what that means but I also feel it was an insult so I'll just ignore it. How's unlife ugly?
Not bad Baka. What about you?
Not got a clue.
I also keep a track of all the anime I watch.
Rosario + vampire
Soul Eater

Petty good teme, although I'm still 100% alive
GURREN LAGANN!!!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
*Runs around shouting stuff about manliness and massive robots*
Your calling /me/ a teme Minikui?
Stop using Japanese words I just put up to insult each other!
For those who wish to know, I've seen:
Fullmetal Alchemist

Spice and Wolf
Annika, do you read manga? because there was one more soul eater part. The ending :ooooooooooooo
Alas, I cannot abide manga. Nor American comics.
Minikui wasn't on the list Chi! That was my own personal research! But fine I won't use Japanese to insult the Crétin.
Nice, very nice! I would have no idea how many I've watched haha, like oh my god so much anime is just amazing.
You've seen quite a few of the ones I want to see ._.
You should watch Accel World! (Its based on light novels by the same author who wrote SAO, and actually takes place in the same world a few decades later - and imo it is much better than SAO XD)
Annika, hell yes!
OH MY GOD I BOUGHT SPICE AND WOLF AND I HAVEN'T WATCHED IT YET IT IS SITTING ON MY SHELF TEMPTING ME AND OH MY GOLDEN GOD I AM SO KEEN.
Aww Annika... Stein and Marie are going to have a kid. Stein said he was going to experiment on it xD Soul gets turned into a death scythe, his leg turns into a keyboard, it's so fuking awesome. Death the kid takes his father's place and Black Star is still training, just being him.
Spice and Wolf receives a high star rating in my book, to be sure. Watch it, and watch it fast.
*nods*
What ones do you want to see and i'll tell you how much I loved them? xD
STEIN AND MARIE!
*my heart is filled with a warm fuzzy feeling*

That's far from all of them I just can't be bothered to remember every crazy Japanese show I've seen...
From what anime? Ah, never mind. I shan't spoil any of them, to be safe.
High School of the Dead, Soul Eater, Fairy Tail, and Angel Beats are on my list i'm fairly sure.
Why yes you are Silente ^-^
*violent banging of head against wall*
I forgot Blue Exorcist! Yes, I've seen and love Blue Exorcist.
Oh. I'm still the only one who doesn't know about animé.
OH GOD DID I FORGET SOUL EATER
Yes pretty much any anime, hahaha.
I'm putting off spice and wolf until the holidays so I can marathon the whole thing in one sitting without worrying about studying :)
Soul Eater was the 2nd anime I watched (not counting yu-gi-yo and pokemon)
My first anime I watched was Rosario + vampire.
I bought A Certain Magical Index but was kind of disappointed, I mean I still liked it but it didn't really have a direction, seemed kinda like a bunch of random stories strung together :/
WHAT SILENTE, HOW CAN YOU NOT :(
You must watch stuff. I will abduct you and you can watch anime and eat icecream with me >:D
Hmm. I'm not done with the series, but from what I've seen thus far, I rather enjoy A Certain Magical Index
FAIRY TAIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 I LOVE FAIRY TAIL SO MUCH! I STILL WATCH ALL THE OLD EPISODES, I WATCH SO MANY FAIRY TAIL AMVS THEN I HAVE TO GO BACK AND WATCH THE EPISODES THAT HAD BITS TAKEN FROM THEM!
Highschool of the dead is awesome but very very pervy.
Angel beats... the fucking feels man.
ITS NOT MY FAULT NO ONE EVER INTRODUCED ME TO IT AND I CANT AFFORD TO BUY DVD'S AND IT ALL JUST SOUNDS LIKE AN ALIEN LANGUAGE TO ME! THE ONLY ANIME I'VE WATCHED WAS A LITTLE BIT OF BLEACH! ITS NOT MY FAULT!
Meh, Fairy Tail was awesome in the beginning. The animation started getting crappy and it just stopped even trying to be serious....
Highschool of the Dead. Doesn't interest me. Angel Beats I definitely wish to watch. As for Fairy Tail . . .
*takes a deep breath*
*pushes a big red button to send the hotel into Siege Mode*
*everything on full lockdown*
*looks up at Chione's portrait*
I cannot stand Fairy Tail. I despise that show.
*Hops out of Anni's shadow*
A nice little touch you've got there. I doubt it'll keep her out though
*hides behind a couch*
*smiles congenially*
Blake! So splendid to have you here. Do you like your portrait?
*gestures to Blake's portrait*
*jaw drops, faints*
*catches Chi before she hits the ground*
*lays her down*
*fans her face*
*Stares a moment*
...You made a portrait of me?
*Sinks into his shadow and hops out of Chio's*
*Holds her head in his lap and slaps her lightly*
Chio... Chio wake up...
Oh Chi :')
Ahhhhh Silente D: My place. Now. :P
*glares at Blake*
Don't slap her! That's abuse!
*waves a hand dismissively*
I didn't make them. Basil Hallward made them.
*spreads arms*
This is the basement of the Midnight Hotel: The Hall of Portraits. Every Bloglander has a portrait here.
I'm afraid the aforementioned money problem and lack of passport prevents me from flying to Australia, tracking you down and watching animé with you, maybe another time.
*Glares at Silente*
*Begins shaking Chio lightly instead*
*Wonders if a kiss would help*
*Like sleeping beauty*
*Figures it's worth a shot*
*leans down and kisses Chio*
*resists the urge to hit Blake like here hit her yesterday*
**he
;-;
But hey, maybe in the future! I mean one of the things in my bucket list is meet some Bloggers in real life.
*opens eyes and cries*
*Hug Chio*
Shhhh, it's okay, everyone has their opinions
Demo!...no one should hate Fairy Tail...Fairy Tail is one of the best animes ever *cries more*
Nande...Annika?
Chione . . .
*grimaces*
*looks up at her portrait*
Don't . . . don't make this harder than it needs to be.
I just . . . can't stand it.
The voices,
the animation,
the plot,
the characters,
I just . . . can't.
WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THE CHARACTERS?! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THE PLOT?! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH THE VOICES?!
Hecate: Ooooooo you've pissed her off. She loves that show.
*hugs Silente*
Yess >:D
Oh god. Clara's going to die. This isn't good,
*moves over to Chi*
Chi? Calm down..
Hecate: *rises in a wave of darkness, eyes pitch Black, tears still running down her cheeks, races off to the volcano*
I just can't! I can't watch it! I have tried to watch it, several times, because friends of mine love it, but I simply cannot! It's impossible!
And I do not even appreciate the world. World-building is something I very much appreciate, but the world of Fairy Tail just doesn't entice me at all. I cannot.
Chione, forgive me!
*now shouting at the portrait*
*that's what I do, when I'm in the hotel, talking to Bloglanders who aren't in the hotel*
*I talk to the portraits*
Uh oh... Um guys, you may wanna let me deal with this
*Runs of after Chio/Hecate*
*glares at Annika. Curses her with black magic,*
"May all your bacon burn."
Heh heh.
Bah, Matex!
*shakes fist at Matex's portrait*
Your Howl's Moving Castle references shall roll off me like water off a duck's back, no matter how impressed I am that you made them!
Thankyou for understanding me Annika <3
*hugs Matex*
I'm going to let Blake handle Chi this time. I can't really help out..
*looks around*
Hey look, we are now alone. Clara's in her hotel, Blake and Chi are by the volcano. Guess its just you and me.
*grins up at him*
Hecate/chione: gets to the top of the volcano and screams.
*the water from the lake rises as well as all of the shadows in blogland and swirl above her, making the sky pitch black, a wall of sharp ice surrounds her*
*nods*
So we are!
*lifts a finger, moves it slowly towards Silente...*
*pokes her face*
*frowns*
*not what she had in mind*
*pokes him back*
*cooks his own shoe in a pot of water and starts eating it*
om.
nom.
nom.
*Clambers to the top of the volcano*
*Walk up to Hecate*
*Kisses her*
Snap out of it Chio.
So my rant.
We were discussing common core today at lunch. So we thought this through: My sister has a son in 2nd grade. I saw the math he's asked, its impossible. My history teacher has twins and he said the same thing. So we were thinking of The Hunger Games, and one teacher said its the government trying to control education. Parents can't help children. My sister has no idea how to help my nephew, my history teacher cant help his kids. So what it is is the government butting in.
You look at Panem. Each district has an industry. I remember Katniss say: The would give us the weekly lecture on the history of Panem and somehow it all came back to coal. The govenment controlled their education, a student in 3 learns about technology, in 12 about coal, but you never learn about a district industry besides your own. You never are told how big districts are, just oh 11 is a large one or 12 is small. No numbers, they even divide you within the district, a kid who is starving vs a merchant kid. You'd hate the one who has a lot to eat.
Education is becoming like Panem, slowly. Government shouldn't be in education.
*returns to the lift*
*passing Sir's portrait on the way*
*wistful sigh*
*returns to the lobby*
*sits behind the desk*
*and hums quietly*
((Well done Zaf! Your waking up to the real world!))
*frowms at Matex*
*sighs and shakes her head*
*walks to the hotel*
*passes through its doors*
*smiles at Clara*
*let's her sigils show*
Hey.
*the darkness and water swirl around her faster*
*raises one finger*
Ah, wait, no, stop, the hotel is-
*a white glow surrounds Silente*
*and she's blasted off her feet, backwards, through the front door and out onto the grassy lawn*
. . . in Siege Mode.
*lowers hand*
*sighs*
*taps the big red button again*
*Siege Mode retracts*
*stands up and shakes her head*
Well that's effective,
*walks back in casting a glow with her sigils*
*smiles evily at Clara*
How are you? And how's that young gentleman from my last visit?
*Holds Chio tightly*
*shouts over the swirling chaos*
Are you really going to destroy a volcano because Anni doesn't like your favorite anime?!
*smiles congenially*
Oh, he's quite dead. As are you, if you attempt to kill any more of my guests.
*munches on shoe leather and day dreams of baconhawks*
*laughs*
Oh Clara. Your always so funny. Ahh. Funny, funny girl.
*grins her eyes slowly fading to black*
*the sigil keeping her in line begins to deactivate*
*skin begins glowing*
Greetings
