Apparently I'll be appearing at the Imagine Festival in London this Monday, the 17th. I had a blast last year, where I showed clips from movies, but I'm not entirely sure what I'll do this time. I might read from one of the new short stories. I'd read from the ninth book, but there is nothing from the early sections finished, and anything read from later on would be a spoiler, so...
Oh, and speaking of Book 9, I have just reached the 75,000 word mark. Judging by this, the finished book will be at least 100,000 words, which is Mortal Coil length, and could be longer. LSODM will stay the longest, I reckon, simply because of the massive amount of characters involved. But because most of those characters are now DEAD, Book 9 allows me a smaller, more intimate story — while remaining as heart-rendingly traumatic as anything I've written before.
And speaking of heart-rendingly traumatic, I've actually written the last few chapters. Not to completion, of course, but I've written enough to know what happens, and how it ends, and who lives and who dies, and all I can say is...
I am MEAN.

Okay, so I'm doing another.... thing.... anyway, here we go...
TRIP:
I like how you're flexible. One minute you could be doing something crazy and insane and the next you can be serious and (reasonably) smart. You're a great friend and an awesome bloglandian.
EMBER:
I love you're Mycroft fangirly-nes. I also admire your outlook on things. You're fun and amzing and Mycroftbunny is cute, only a truly insane genius would think of turning Mycroft Holmes into a bunny. You rock.
MARA:
You're fangirling is something of a mystery to me. No matter what, you always seem to find the bright side and fangirl about it. I enjoy your company and you can always make me smile, even if I dont show it.
HELLBOY:
You're writing, what I've read, is great. You're ever-so-slightly insane and you wear it well. I love your trench coat addition (yes, I am saying you're addicted to trench coats. They are a drug). You're an Aussie minion and that instantly makes you amazing.
ARI:
I admire you as a writer and a person. You always seem to know what you're talking about and I wish we could talk more often. I love how you write and how your characters act. You rule.
STAR:
You are a bubble. A bubbly bubble of awesomeness. And you are also my sister. Your writing is insane, like you, and you always have a rant to get us thinking. I adore you and all your little, insane, bubbly quirks.
You six rock. You always make me smile and I see you all as family. Never change.
That is my ded btw
And now I have to leave. Food calls.
Bye!
Bye Phoenix
And that was amazing, Snow. :')
Yeah amazing....*raises glass*
Adra, those dreams sound terrible xS No wonder you didn't get any sleep. I had a crazy dream earlier too but I can't remember what it was .-.
*also gives her a mysterious box* it's not drugs or chocolate, i swear. Well, maybe it's the former.
Cheers for the mention in the ded, Snow :)
*huggles zaf* imma do one for you, em and some other next time. Promise
*hugs Snow* alright.
I wonder if Ari'll be on tonight. Maybe.
*nods* now I have to go. My mum is screaming at me to get off and do something... bye
Bai Snow!
Cya Snow
Hellooooooooo.
[Presses the space bar for good luck]
[You can't see, but there's a space there]
[A very meaningful one]
[I believe you, Fabi.]
[I too left many special spaces throughout this comment.]
[Nods]
Hello, Hellboy, Zaf, Adra, anyone I missed.
[Offers hugs to anyone who would like a hug and umbrellas to anyone who would like an umbrella]
Weird my phone is acting up I had a picture and it will only send to people with iMessages
That's never happened to me.
I don't know how to fix that, sorry.
I shut it off and on and i got all the pictures she sent me and i finally sent it to her who i was trying to send to
I messed up on the eyes of this drawing.
Of course it had to be the one part I did in pen.
Ah well.
I can't draw for me life so its ok
I used to be really rubbish at it, but I draw a lot, so I've practiced and improved a bit. I'm still better with paint, though.
I'm not gifted at all i drew the Volturi crest and Slytherin crest and from then on I failed misrrably
I'm utter crap at paint XD I can sketch some things okay sometimes. I drew a thing yesterday actually
I did the crest in 6th grade xD then it went downhill. The director for drama teaches art and said i should take art but my mom was like: yeah no she's not gifted eith a stick figure
There's my thing --->
Well, I'm an artist in the sense that I enjoy expressing things in different ways with different mediums. That doesn't mean I'm especially good at realistic drawing.
And, to be fair, I wouldn't even be decent at it had I not taken art classes.
Cool. :-)
I did and it just...see I'm not gifted in that area, my strengths lie elsewhere which is cool
Most of what I'm good at can fall under the category of art, actually...
Cool Fabi! I sing and act mostly. I can sing up to a high F with ease any higher I need to really try but its a better range then the last two years. I can sing soprano 1 now.
Yeah, I can't sing. I mean, I do anyway, but badly. :-P
I take drama, though. :-)
Thats actually really good for me. In 8th grade my stupid teacher forced me to sing alto which was extremely hard because the notes where out of my range. Mom told her and she ignored Mom. Said she'd retest in the spring and never did. So instead of placing me on one song we did that we were separated into three parts, on the higher one like I asked, she put me on the one that was mostly guys singing. I told her I couldn't hit the notes and felt uncomfrtable she told me oh well. Yeah needless to say next year I moved to the high school thank god and i was alto and i almost begged to go to soprano. My current teacher was like oh are you sure it gets really high and i basically told her my story and she said i could go to soprano so long as i did the harmony on the one song i had learnt the harmony and i agreed and wanted to hug her. It was horrid. Then last year i saw my former teacher she asked how it was and i said: much better now that i sing soprano, my singing improved greatly. Yeah she looked stunned. And walked away muttering. It was glorious.
I love drama. In 5th grade we did The Music Man Jr. And then from there we did Alice in Wonderland and Beauty and The Beast. I fell in love. I loved Alice in Wonderland. I tried out for the Queen of Hearts but lost to the director's pet. Thats why I didn't get the part. I mean i was in callbacks! But whatever I was in her jury and all. That was 6th grade. I was in the opening song in the mad ring around the rosie game and in a bunch of others omg it was fun. The best part was the Simon Says game, instead of crochet its Simon Says and i can still do the moves and I know the words and with Painting the Roses Red Reprise its the same xD
Apparently I was much more liked for the part because I was a nicer person to work with and less egoistic then the girl who got it. I mean its what it is but hey I find it funny I can still remember it. And that year the movie Tim Burton directed had come out and my brother took me opening day to it in 3D. We went out to eat and made it a fun night. He loved it. My favorite part was when the Red Queen was being exiled and the Knave tries to kill her and she screams; He tried to kill me! He tried to kill me!
And then when the Mad Tea Party is going on I like when the mouse goes: You're late for tea! And throws the cup and omg...
I remember in the musical the Unbirthday Song. And then How Do You Do? And I can still remember Zipadeedodah! I think out of all my drama in school Alice in Wonderland wins.
XD
I'd have loved to see her reaction.
I don't know what voice type I am. I never actually took lessons. :-P
It could explain why I'm rubbish at singing. XD
In drama, I've mostly done scene scene study, but I've been in A Midsummer Night's Dream twice, Much Ado About Nothing, The Emperor's New Clothes and a Robin Hood story.
Robin Hood was awesome. I got to duel Robin with PVC pipe. I lost, of course, since I was playing an evil person.
I did a ballet (well, the contemporary, tap, jazz and hip hop dancers were in it as well) version of Alice In Wonderland. I was part of the Caterpillar.
Ms. Melinda was the Queen of Hearts, and she was epic. She's really good at engaging the audience, and she's used to shouting over music, so she didn't even need a mic for the part where she yells "Off with her head!"
Didn't I tell you not to go out, didn't I?
You did, you did
Didn't I say the world was cruel, didn't I?
You did, you did.
Then tell me how this happened what I did wrong
Tell me why, can't we just go home Shi
And forget this dreadful night?
Didn't you say that you were different, didn't you?
I am, I am!
Say you aren't that person, say it!
I am, I am!
Then tell me how to act Dad
What to say Dad
Tell me why, all you ever told me
Every word, is a lie?! *music break*
Didn't you say that you'd protect me, didn't you?
I tried, I tried!
Is that how you'd help me, is it?
I tried, I tried!
Don't help me anymore Dad
You are dead Dad in my eyes
Someone has replaced you
Dad I hate you go and die!
Didn't I build a house a home, didn't I?
Didn't I raise her all alone didn't I?
Then Rotti took her from me
Stole my Shilo, he's to blame!
Have I failed my daughter
And let the father die?
And let the monster rise?
Aah! I did...ok beat i go bu grade
5th: Music Man
6th: Alice in Wonderland
7th: Beauty and The Beast
8th: Invasion of the Student Body Snatchers
9th: Miracle on 34th Street and You're a Good Man Charlie Brown
10th: Pride and Prejudice and practicing for Annie
And I took Musical Theater classes in 6th 7th and 8th grade
First we did songs from Annie I was a Boylan Sister
Next year I did 2 songs Somewhere Over the Rainbow and Just You Wait, which is where we did non- choregraphed dancing and the improper Brittish accent the last year we did For Good and Monolouges. I was Glenda we split into the two girls but older kids had Glenda simply because we could hang onto it
Hi, Zaf! Hi, Fabi!
I know this is completely unrelated to all of the acting/singing/theater stories, but I'm drawing something and what do you think Walden D'Essai looks like?
5th: A Midsummer Night's Dream (summer before) The Stinky Cheese Man, The Emperor's New Clothes
6th: Various scene studies. There wasn't an official drama class, but there was a group of us who did plays anyway. I actually wrote a lot of them.
7th: Wizard of Oz, My Fair Lady (both scene studies)
8th: Christmas scenes, Robin Hood
9th: Various scene studies, Sideways Stories of Wayside School
10th: None so far.
You know in Repo! I know it taught me one thing, people will do anything and abuse power. Rotti basically manipulated Nathan to think he killed Marni when in reality Rotti poisoned the medicine and Nathan blamed himself so because Nathan lost Marni he poisoned Shilo's medicine so she'd be infected stay with him. Rotti used Nathan so he could be a Repo Man and held the secret so Rotti had no choice. Rotti is head of Geneco the company you buy organs from. So Rotti kinda abuses his power and did it out of jealousy because Marni wanted Nathan. So he uses Mag and she's forever his singer because he helped her when he dated Marni, Mag was blind. But he kills Mag and freakin Nathan said Shilo died so Mag didn't know her godchild was alive until Chase The Morning where she finally secretly meets Shilo.
Hi Fay!
Hm... I don't know. [shrugs slightly]
Food calls....
but I'm not going! Because I'm hardcore!
And Zaf, how were you in, like, every single play from 5th to 10th grade? *stares in awe*
Ah. Thanks, though, Fabi!
I haven't seen Repo...
We did a scene from Wayside at Drama Camp! I love Drama Camp. Its fun. We do a Shakespeare day and I have fun. Its so fun because all the drama kids are together and not stressing too much over lines ect
Last year the SWAT team did a drill in the school we were on lockdown in the chorus room all day. And we tried dancing and mamaged and we heard them shooting paintballs and were all like O.O i mean legit outside the door. And then we found the final bloody death scene in our sound room with expensive stuff....haha yeah thrilled we were and found paint all over the school. That was scary. Then the last day we had a tornado spotted so we were told god forbid it hits just go to the one hall and worry about the mics later just go and hide and pray we dont die.
Ah its rated R Fabi. Ari saw it xD aaah it reminds me of Ari
And Phoenix, because 5-7 you just were in chorus if you didnt get a part but all the others i got in through my audition
I'm sorry, I had to poof, and this is taking longer than I thought.
I'll be back when I can be.
Okay I may be asleep by then possibly
I'm back.
Effie 2 looks awful. :-/
Probably need to redo this one.
Mergh i am here
Msd though im half asleep
Hi Zaf.
If you're tired, you should sleep.
I probably can't stay long, anyway.

*wanders on*
Hello...?
Anyone around?
Is there anybody out there? (There there there)
Wow, this is the first time I heared an echo in Blogland!
Oh good someone's here! And they understand that was an echo! HEY! (EY EY EY EY)
*grins*
Hi!
Of course I understand it was an echo^^ What else could it have been?
I don't really know what else it could have been... *grins back * *Tackle hugs* wanna cookie *holds plate of chocolate cup cookies up* they're homemade
Cookies! *-*
*takes one*
Thanks!
Hey, if I should stop answering soon, I'm either asleep or had to go to music lesson, ok? ;)
Eh thats fine....sleep or music huh? What instrument do you play?
Dear god... what have I gotten myself into?
I have just agreed to write a Harry Potter fan fic with my friends.... only.... its HarryxRon.... and a whole bunch of oneshots in between with other.... things.... help.
Yeah, sleep or music.
But music is more likely, cause I can't be asleep at lunchtime^^
I have no idea how to call it in English... in German it's called "Waldhorn".
Looks like this:
http://www.duden.de/_media_/full/W/Waldhorn-201020518628.jpg
Oh God, Snow...
Sounds... strange...
Wth snow? That's a little strange...and a little awkward...
*laughs*
Oh my god, Snow!

@ Silente: French horn... Okay, thank you! Finally I know what instrument I'm playing :P
Yeah, right! I completely forgot that there is one in HIMYM :D
So I'm guessing you watch HIMYM then...

In that case, you rock.

Okay, I gotta sleep. Bye
I didn't die!
#ChaseForBook9
Yay!
#ChaseForBook9
What a shame it would have been.
I'm guessing you're exhausted, then?
Reasonably.
#ChaseForBook9
That makes sense. I pulled a red eye when I flew to Edinburgh.
*Flops around*
*Shrug*
-
*Adra wakes up with a yawn, wiggling her toes and starting up the fire to get it warmed up*
*Her tower has one of the best views of Blogland, and she props herself up on her pillows and waits for the sun to rise, wrapped in a few blankets*
*She sighs*
It snowed a lot last night..
When I say "a lot", I mean four inches.
Which also means that our drive way is covered again.... Gr.
Hullo, Blogland.
Heh Adra i have aprozimatly 2 feet with the new coat, you want it?
Good going, Derek. :)
Hi all! :)
#ChaseForBook9
Wow...
That is a lot at once
Hello
I suppose I might as well appear.
*appears*
Msd. :) I agreed to play Monopoly.
#ChaseForBookNine
*yawns*
I am dreadfully tired today. I think I may be coming down with something.
@Annika: Aw. :( Well, I hope if you do, it goes away and you float up again, like a kite. An Annikite. :)
#ChaseForBookNine
My life...
I slept in until seven. It was lovely :)
I might role-play. I don't know; I'm uncertain.
*gazes dazedly at the screen of her laptop*
I'm not thinking particularly clearly today.
I was writing an essay earlier and mixed up 'there' and 'their.'
I need help. Fast.
@Adra: Yay. :)
It is a lovely thing, to have a life.
*wonders what that must be like*
#ChaseForBookNine
@Annika: WELCOME TO MY WORLD. THE WORLD OF LETTERING UP MIXERS. :)
(Um.)
(I have no tips on thinking clearly.)
#ChaseForBookNine
Oh damn, I tried to type 'airshipwrecked' into iTunes and I accidentally typed 'sirshipwrecked.'
Though I don't imagine ship-wrecks would be much of a problem for Sir. He could just swim to the mainland with his wonder-shark powers.
*wording up mixers
*facepalm*
SEE WHAT I MEAN?
#ChaseForBookNine
Right..
-
*She pulls out a pan and some eggs, breaking them over he pan, and setting that over the fire*
*Toasts some bread quickly and puts it on a plate*
*Sets the over-easy eggs onto the plate and dips he rp bread into the yolk, still awaiting the sunrise*
I may sleep later. I may and will. But Adra basically Thursday we had 9 inches and then part 2 of the storm dropped 10 inches. Then i have about 4-6in new stuff from another storm. And the nor'easter dropped a quarter inch of ice. So i shoveled that yesterday. The joys
*wording up mixes
*groans*
@Annika: XD
Well, maybe the shipwreck would trap him under it. O_O
#ChaseForBookNine
@Adra: Left. :)
@Zaf: How fun for you. -_-
#ChaseForBookNine
That would be awful, if that happened. Obviously I would have to go save him.
*remembers that she is both Small and Frail and would be unable to lift a ship-wreck*
. . . Oh.
Hi Adra! Hi Annika! Hi Zaf! Hi Star!
*hugs*
How're you all doing?
mbd
#ChaseForBook9
I'm leaving in fifteen minutes . . .
#ChaseForBookNine
The not'easter was 2 parts Wednesday night into Thursday afternoon, then a lull where we plowed out, then Thursday around 6pm it wrapped around and the wind sent sleet against the house then changed to snow and ended Friday morning. Then Early this morning anothwr storm came and is supposed to last all day with 3-6 inches possible. And Tuesday a snow/sleet mix.
@Annika: Hunter could help you!
I don't know. He might get distracted along the way and start trying to blow it up or something. And he might blow up Sir in the process. If he managed to blow it up. I don't know, he might get bored.
(Hunter's incredibly reliable, you know.)
Hi Taia! :)
I'm doing . . . *thinks about it* I suppose I'm doing quite good. It's half term this week. :)
How are you doing? :)
@Zaf: Glorious weather, you're having. :P
#ChaseForBookNine
No, don't blow up Sir!
*stands protectively in front of our imaginary Sir*
Who will I have word-duels with if he dies?
Oh yeah its lovely. I ahoveled. A lot. The cars and I know each other well. Oh yesterday the plow destroyed the mailbox Dad put our mail on hold as we have to ah duct tape the old one together because getting a new one in winter isnt smart
Hunter would say you could have word-duels with yourself. But he doesn't especially want to blow Sir up, don't worry. :P In fact, I think he'd rather not.
(You know, emailing yourself is such a good idea, because then you can look back and you can see what you were thinking and feeling at moments and you're like O_O because memory made it go all fuzzy and you'd forgotten exactly how this or that WAS.)
#ChaseForBookNine
@Zaf: Aw. :( Poor you and people around you.
#ChaseForBookNine
*rubs head*
Bah! My head is so . . . fuzzy, today. I can barely think. It's a bit like my brain is full of static or white noise.
@Annika: Aw. :(
I hope it clears up soon.
*passes her a duster to sort it out with*
*and a pickaxe*
*because everyone's heads need pickaxes*
#ChaseForBookNine
Bah. Bleh. Urp. Ugh.
*looks around for something to do to occupy my poor, fuzzy head*
. . .
I've got a clock on my wall. It's pretty. I got it for Christmas. And it has the face of a different regeneration of The Doctor on each number.
*She quickly finishes off her breakfast and pulls out a few sheets of paper- a check list, if sorts, and goes over it*
-Name
-House
-Clothes
-Food
-Crib
-Wedding
*Slightly pinches her nose, annoyed with her duties, and looks through it once more* Goodness, this is a lot to plan and take care of.
*Pulls out her phone, waiting a moment*
*The other side picks up*
*Adra clears her throat* Reno, so you think you can haul yourself and Feyra down here? I might need some help. No, I do not want Hydra here either.
*Adra waits for a moment*
...good, thanks.
*Shuts her phone, and resumes watching the sunrise, playing soft music from her phone*
I just found a podcast on iTunes whose description is literally: 'steampunk Catholic shenanigans.'
O.O Random Anni
@Zaf: Sounds like a lot of snow. Stay safe. :)
We've had a little snow here, but mostly rain-y-storms and - holy cats - the wind. We got up to 90-100mph windspeeds on Wednesday. Which means a whole lot of brokenness and of course the electricity was down until the next night.
(AND I WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF PLAYING FINDING NEMO ON PS2 AT THE TIME OF POWEROUT AND IT WAS VERY UPSETTING. :P)
@Star: Good to hear! :) Oh, really? Yay! :)
I'm doing alright, thanks. I think our half-term is the week following next week, so I don't have THAT upside yet, though. :P
#ChaseForBook9
Your FACE is random, Zafira.
*Her phone is not down but for a few minutes when it rings once more. She hits the call button with the pad if her finger, and listens*
Adra, we need you here immediately. There has been another skirmish between our people. This is of the upmost importance. We'll send for you effective immediately.
*The voice dies on the other end of the phone, and the phone line goes dead*
...
...
...
...
...
...
Bmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm-
*She moves fast, not bothering to go down the ladder and forms a portal to the inside of her lab, where she lands on the floor*
*Opens a vault and pulls her official robes out, as memories of the massacre from only a month ago pops into her mind*
*Ties the robe on, and packs as many medicinal items into her bag as she can, before she sits on a chair and waits*
@Annika: Aw. :( I hope it clears up, soon.
Hm. It's the 15th, so I guess there's new Welcome to Night Vale, if you haven't listened to that already?
@Star: *tilts heads* Why pickaxes?
HA, awesome, Annika! :P
#ChaseForBook9
OH!
I FORGOT ABOUT THE NEW NIGHT VALE!
Thank you for reminding me. It's downloading right now.
No problem, Anni. :)
Night Vale is the only thing I keep set to an automatic download, so that poses no problem for me, provided I have internet. :P
#ChaseForBook9
My, my...
-
*A short, squat portal rips a whole in the reality that Adra is in, and on the other side, she sees bright flashes of light, the scream of her friends- the few who remain, that is-, and the boom of explosions around the city*
*Squares her shoulders*
*Goes in head first, bags in tow*
*The city is in absolute chaos*
*At the center, the square, a fire is built, and bodies are being thrown into there*
*Her stomach quivers, and the portal shuts*
*Across the sky are bright red streaks of smoke, and bright flickers of light from the clouds. Tall structures made from manipulating the ground and the rock stand above the city's walls in haphazard directions, remnants of a battle*
*She runs forward, and disappears into the gloom, being extraordinarily careful and aware of her surroundings*
-
I think that's all I should actually do right now... No one seems to be reading, anyway, so I might go back later and add to it.
*leaves the comment thread*
*explodes* I have read Adra. I just didn't see a way to jump in if thats what you hoped
Actually, I have to go now. Goodbye!
Bai
Sorry. I got distracted by weatherly things. Aberystwyth doesn't seem to have a promenade at all, now... :(
Bye Annika! I hope your head feels better soon!
Bye Adra! *hugs*

#ChaseForBook9
Dear Mr. Landy,
I am a bit sorry, but no matter how I tired I couldn't pass all those defences and all to reach your personal e-mail. /We may conclude only that I wasn't trying hard enough/.
Anyway I have no idea if you are reading the comments, but if you do, please take a bit of your time to answer a question I have been asking myself ever since I read the first book of Skulduggery. If everyone falls in love with China every time they see her, how do they actually manage to fight against her?
Also, and this might sound a bit, ok maybe a lot, selfish, but I was looking around the internet and there are rumors of a movie. As a fan I beg of you to not let them ruin your books and destroy everything /Valkyrie having blond hair would just be rude, adding extra characters too/.
Thank you very much for your time. That is if you saw this. Otherwise I will have to take that "thank you" back.
Well then. Someone doesn't want the movie if it is true
I don't want the movie. :P
But I couldn't care much about Valkyrie having blonde hair.
Derek said once that it didn't matter what age she was or what she looked like or what nationality she was so long as she could act.
And so long as Valkryie acts like Valkyrie (and looks like she could be twelve) (in the first movie, that is) . . . I don't really mind.
If looks the part but isn't VALKYRIE, then . . . D:
#ChaseForBookNine
But I still don't want the movie. It would destroy the fandom.
No matter how unBlogland-like Blogland gets, I still really don't want that to happen.
#ChaseForBookNine
MY STORY HAS JUST REACHED 100 WORDS ON A WORD DOCUMENT.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!
*celebrates*
#ChaseForBookNine
Yeah I don't mind so long as they can act like Valkyrie. *shrugs* I hate Valkyrie and Skulduggery in general so ironically if either died in Book 9 I'd simply laugh. I think I hate Valkyrie because she's hateable and Skulduggery I find not hate but anger towards....like he's someone who made Valkyrie how she is and he screwed up she gave in and so I don't think its hate but lots of anger
*pages
Not words.
PAGES.
#ChaseForBookNine
Yay Star!
@Zaf: Woah. XD *laughs*
I don't like Valkyrie all that much, but Skulduggery is rather awesome.
(Maybe I just think that because he's insane, though.)
#ChaseForBookNine
I think you have valid reasons for hating Skulduggery. *shrugs*
And I don't dislike Valkyrie all that much. Just not that fond of her. :)
And I love Derek for making his main characters that way - as normal people, people who aren't that great.
#ChaseForBookNine
She is far from great. Seriously knowing my own personality I'd have hit her a lot. Probably why I was kept in America in LSODM, Derek even had a feeling my character hates her. Ooh I can smack her. She's so self centered like what even. Fletcher was smart to get over her
@Zaf: I see the positives and negatives in people and also, I get very attached to everything (people, websites I've been on more than a few times, items, seats, words, ANYTHING) and so I'm kind of used to her and I'd miss her if she went, plus I appreciate her for the good points she has. :)

Her dying would be the best thing ever. I'd be throwing a party. I would be laughing and skipping. Now if Ravel died I'd be in a ball sobbing but I'm pretty sure as of now he isn't dying
Me: *googkes 'word transdisposition causes'
First link: Transposing words - is it ADHD or bipolar?
Me: *clicks on it*
*finds it's one of those sites where people put questions and answers and responses*
*first person - has put a list of 27 items, saying that if you score more than 10, ADHD is likely present*
Me: *gets five that I can't say due to not being an adult and not having a job or a car or anything* *gets two that are a maybe* *gets four that are no* *gets fifteen that are yes*
*sighs*
Okay, so let's divide the maybes up. Five nos, sixteen yeses.
If he said 10/27 . . .
That's 37%.
I got sixteen out of twenty-two if you take out the N/A.
That's 73%.

@Zaf: You like Ravel more than Val? :P Something screwed up in your logic there. They're both as bad as each other.
After reading LSODM, I did, admittedly, just want her to go die, but when I read the books I just go NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO YOU ARE A PERSON THE WORLD WOULD BE DARKER WITHOUT YOUR PRESENCE.
#ChaseForBookNine
Thats confusing Star
Is it, Zaf?
I like doing number percentage things, I guess. :)
I'm rather attached to percentages.
(Like I was saying, I get attached to stuff really easily. :P)
#ChaseForBookNine
I hate Valkyrie,
but my favorite characters are, in no particular order, Gordon, Skulduggery, Donegan, Gracious, Sanguine, Nefarian, Scapegrace, Clarabelle, Christophe, Dusk, and all of the Dead Men, including Ravel.
See Ravel is epic and all and i agree with LSODM
100 pages? Sham-WOW, Star! AWesome! :D
Hm. I don't know what I think about a Skul-movie. I don't watch a lot of films, but I think... I think that I tend to detach the books and the motion pictures from each other, in my mind, somehow. So it's easier to see beyond 'the book was better', and 'that did NOT happen', and 'why the heck is she 22 she's supposed to be twelve. -.- ', But, idk.
And, in ruining the fandom... why would it..? I mean, I can see why, but... How different is having a bestselling book from having a bestselling movie, so to speak? I don't know. *shrugs* Whatever happens... idk. I don't know. Um.
This has been Taia's input.
*nods uncertainly*

And I love Anton Shudder, too. I really love Anton Shudder.
Ravel is mine. I just love him so much.
On the topic of the movie, I think that it has incredible potential to be either an amazingly hilarious, dark, Tim-Burtony action movie with great character dialogue and spectacular fight scenes,
or
they could mess it up entirely and make it something it was never meant to be.
As for me, I'm not going to dwell on the movie too much. I'd rather put it out of my mind until when it happens, or if it happens. Then it will come as a sort of pleasant surprise. "Oh, the Skulduggery Pleasant movie is coming out today? Lovely!"
Plus, I think it is a great deal harder for series' that have a lot of books, such as this one, to have satisfactory movies based off them.
*nods* I can see that Anni
It could be either way good or bad.
Good morning, afternoon, evening, or other time of day, Blogland.
I dedicate this page to Ravel. He is my favorite character and I love him to death. I hope he survives the series.
To all characters that Derek may kill off, I hope they haunt Derek in his sleep! I really hope so. And to Book 9 coming out.
Exactly. Either it will turn out like Lord of the Rings, or it will turn out like Percy Jackson. There is no in-between.
But since none of us have a say in the film-making process,
I suggest we don't worry our heads about it because that will just make everyone sad and depressed.
*shrugs*
Hi Annika, Taia! :)
I adore Clarabelle. :)
I just want to cry because she's so awesome and she killed Kenspeckle and she has to live with that.
I'm crying now, actually.
I cry quite easily.
There's a different between crying and crying, though.
Thanks, Taia! :)
Considering I can't write, I'm quite proud of that. :)
Ruining the fandom? *shrugs*
Because all these movie people will come here and things will just explode. People will watch it, think it's kind of cool, and . . . and then you won't have us special select group of people. You'll have all these ordinary people as well.
That's only one possibility, but I don't want to risk it.
I'm still trying to reread SP as me, not as someone who used to be me, and form better opinions, so . . . :P That's a work in progress.
(I'm pretty sure this isn't the first time I've decided I needed to do this, either.)
(Damn the world.)
I hate how you've just got used to where you're at and then everything goes and CHANGES. Can't time just stand still for a minute and let me catch up? :P

Clarabelle. :-)
You know, the lady at the 011-012-201-102 001-202 202-022-012 112-012-210-200-120-110-120-021-221 121-110-001-010-012 reminded me of her. She didn't have blue hair, and she wasn't as insane, but she was sweet and a little flaky.
Hullo, Sir.
Hullo, Moss.
On another note, if there IS a movie on its way, I wonder if I'll have purchased and read KOTW, LSODM, TMS, AND Book Nine by the time it comes out. :P
(Where does time go, you guys? Where does it go?)
@Annika: I see what you mean about multiple-book-series being harder to base films on... But I guess that's what the 'based on' part is.
Unless you fancy making 9 separate movies, which would be costly, you use the themes and ideas of those 9 books with perhaps an adapted/shortened/alternate plot to fit it into the single movie, if that makes sense?
And because of those adaptations, then, the movie does not satisfy the book, exactly. Which is kind of what I mean about detaching the two, and taking each as its own interpretation.
That's my take on it, at least. ^^
#CHaseForBook9
Hi Sir, Lantern! :)
@Annika: Derek wrote the script, it got passed around a load of writers (they do that, all rewrite it) and when he got it back he was rubbish. He said he wasn't going to do the movie like this, they said fair enough, and he began writing is again.
Derek won't ever let us have a movie like Percy Jackson. :) I have faith in him.
And I have a lot more faith in him than Hunter has in me. :P
#ChaseForBookNine
I agree with you, Star, about re-reading. I think re-reading books and re-watching shows is just as important as reading or watching them the first time. It gives you a fresh perspective, and allows you to spot details you did not see before. For instance, when I was eleven I read Artemis Fowl and hated it with the passion of a thousand fiery suns. I read it again when I was thirteen and I loved it, and now own the whole series. There you go.

(Hunter doesn't have any faith in me.)
(He said he did, but then two minutes later he got bored.)
#ChaseForBookNine
Greetings, Ms. Barnosky, Cryptic, DeMars, Inkbright, and Kerias.
And that's a good point. Some writer would let the movie go bust, but I don't think Derek would let that happen.
*writers
@Annika: I adore rereading. :)
In the days when I used to actually get round to reading anything (I'm getting better at reading more again, though!), I used to say that you couldn't really know a book that well unless you'd read it about five times. :P
I was OBSESSED with Artemis Fowl.
OBSESSED.
With me, I have obsession and I have severe obsession.
Artemis Fowl was one of my most severe obsessions.
I'm still dealing with the aftereffects now. O_O
I didn't like the last book, though.
#ChaseForBookNine
I didn't much like the last book either, but the excellence of the rest of the series made up for it, in my opinion.
I've got a biggish-smalling library in my room that I've been accumulating for years, and the top two shelves are reserved for the series' that have changed my life and/or been the objects of my obsession.
- Skulduggery Pleasant
- Harry Potter
- Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
- The Monstrumologist
- Artemis Fowl
- The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel
- The Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica
- Artemis Fowl
. . .
*facepalms*
As you can see, Artemis Fowl was such a big deal that my subconscious listed it twice.
