Apparently I'll be appearing at the Imagine Festival in London this Monday, the 17th. I had a blast last year, where I showed clips from movies, but I'm not entirely sure what I'll do this time. I might read from one of the new short stories. I'd read from the ninth book, but there is nothing from the early sections finished, and anything read from later on would be a spoiler, so...
Oh, and speaking of Book 9, I have just reached the 75,000 word mark. Judging by this, the finished book will be at least 100,000 words, which is Mortal Coil length, and could be longer. LSODM will stay the longest, I reckon, simply because of the massive amount of characters involved. But because most of those characters are now DEAD, Book 9 allows me a smaller, more intimate story — while remaining as heart-rendingly traumatic as anything I've written before.
And speaking of heart-rendingly traumatic, I've actually written the last few chapters. Not to completion, of course, but I've written enough to know what happens, and how it ends, and who lives and who dies, and all I can say is...
I am MEAN.

I've never seen The Lion King, and everyone murders me for that, and I've seen Finding Nemo (everyone ADORES Finding Nemo here. Is it the same in your areas? I know a girl obsessed with it and it comes up plently in classroom conversation. One time our English teacher said he'd tell us about plot and use the Lion King as an example and we were all crying out for Finding Nemo so he did that. It's like the entire teenage population is obsessed with it. All the producers must be so proud, and the whole of the pop music industry must be so jealous. XD

Oh, yeah. I've seen that, and I've seen Bambi, and I've seen The Jungle Book, and I've seen Cinderella and Snow White but not Sleeping Beauty, and I've not seen Tarzan but I've seen the adverts, and I've not seen The Fox and the Hound but I have seen The Lady and the Tramp and when I was a little little pittle (that's one of my dad's terms XD) I was obsessed with Lady and the Tramp 2, and I've seen Mulan, and I haven't seen Hercules or Aladdin, and I was OBSESSED TO HELL with 101 Dalmations (I mean, seriously. When I was like two. I can't even remember it that well. Me and my dad used to play 101 Dalmations with each other constantly. We had Dalmation soft toys and I was really into dogs. As I became older, I realised I actually have a fear of dogs, and I still have that fear, and I'm not really keen on animals in general either, and neither are any of my siblings, and neither is my mum, and my dad is not an animal ENTHUSIAST, and basically, our family is not really into animals, and THERE I GO GETTING SIDETRACKED AGAIN).
Um.
Has anyone seen Bug's Life? Because that is one of my favourite movies of all time. It's actually called A Bug's Life, but we call it Bug's Life. Family slang, you know. :P

We used to watch videos in the hall when it was a wet lunch.
I still remember it. I remember asking my best friend on the way down that corridor *points to corridor in memory* *and in my memory it's HUGE, and it can't have been nearly that big in real life* if it was Nemo or Meno or Memo or Neno because I was uncertain. XD
I was still uncertain for a good few years, I think. :P
Finding Nemo was the craze, at the time. People were going on about it. :P
And I remember the movie with pretty accurate detail, probably because I've had to recall on those memories so many times because like I said everyone loves Finding Nemo. :)

I used to have a Disney Princess packed lunch box. :) They were the thing, at the time. Although I was never that into the Disney Princesses. I always got the sense I should be, but that was a normal thing, and I thought of myself as a weirdo even back then. I was thought of myself as an outsider, one who wasn't one of the normal mainstream people, in my most distant memories, even when I hung out with everyone and knew everyone, and I don't know how this weirdness started or why, but I have it, and I am very happy with it. :)
And also - my memories of Fidning Nemo even feel like now-memories, with now-opinions, not kid's memories. They've been called upon that many times. :O
(I mean, some of it is still kiddy, but yeah. :P)

@Taia: Finding Nemo was realistic in its story world.
It's like . . . you could say Skulduggery Pleasant isn't realistic because magic doesn't exist (although that point is debatable), but you could say that if magic did exist and the world was as the Skulduggery Pleasant universe was, it was entirely realistic.
(I don't think it's ENTIRELY realistic, actually. Skulduggery Pleasant stretches the bonds of realism. But it does it very well, so it doesn't feel unrealistic, and it doesn't try to be 100% realistic, either. Idk, the universe just has a good tone to it, and it works. :P)
(Gone is intensely realistic and tries to be. If it wasn't realistic, that would be a major flaw, because it's one of those things that tries to show what reality would be like if . . . Skulduggery Pleasant doesn't so much. I mean, it does to an extent, but it isn't one of its major priorities. It's one of the most vital things about Gone, and if it didn't do it well, the whole series would be screwed.)

*Drew woke up suddenly. The last thing he remembered was blacking out from the shadows overpowering him. He tried to move. He couldn't. He was strapped to a chair in a room somewhere.
He looked up and saw Lorcan sitting in front of him on his chair back to front. Chase was leaning on the far wall, leaning on a cane.
Drew was about to say something when Lorcan got up, his fist silver covered and punched Drew a few times around the face. Drew's skin sizzled with every punch.*
*She gets on her tippy toes, the stretch making her feet feel a bit better*
*She feels a prominent kick in her tummy- gasps in surprise*
