I am elaborating.
According to the research of two American psychologists, Grewen and Light, the act of hugging causes the brain to release oxytocin - which is cardio-protective, meaning that each hug literally does good for the health of the hearts of both (or all?) huggers involved.
Hugging (usually) involves relaxing muscles. So you're reducing tension, and also increasing blood flow to tissues.
Holding your hug releases serotonin - which means, I guess similarly to singing, you feel better.
It boosts your self-esteem. Like, HEY A HUMAN WANTS TO HUG ME = A HUMAN LIKES ME = WWAAAHHHHHH:)
It gives you a sense of safety. And it keeps you warm. Apparently, it even slows down aging - so huggers keep younger longer. o0
It'll push nourish your appetite - more hugs mean less hungry?
It helps to dispel loneliness, since you're literally wrapped in the arms of another human. So that solves anger, loneliness, isolation...
It boosts your immune system, because the pressure on the sternum regulates white blood cell count/production.
How about overcoming fears? If you don't like your hugs, or social/physical contact scares you, then maybe a hug would really help you out?

And, idk. I think that maybe it doesn't matter what a song was written about, specifically, so much as how it makes each person think or feel?
If you found out that your favourite song was actually written about a box of cereal, maybe you'd feel kind of bummed out. But I think that, why does it matter? Because the words are still the same, and the meaning that you took does not have to be negated, because it's your own response and it's up to you. What one person thinks doesn't have to define what another thinks, right?
But, that said, I also think it's interesting just being able to think and put so many different things to the same definition by the words in the song, if that makes sense? Like it just interlinks a bunch of unrelated things?

((So I'm going to explain the serum here. As a newly turned vamp I hated changing. I heard about the formula before and tried to track it down. However when injected with it I very nearly died. I was allergic to one of the main ingredients. I spent years and finally made a new one. It was less effective but still worked. I loved it! However I soon learned if I was to close to the change it didn't work as that was when there was the greatest flux of vampire blood in my body. The less blood the easier it was to stay in my form.))
