I should have announced this yesterday, to be honest, but I was in Swindon, in England, doing writerly things like chatting to 600 people, signing all their books, and then travelling on to the WH Smith head office and signing 500 copies of LSODM, so you'll forgive me if I was a tad... distracted.
But, without further ado, to those who have not yet heard, the title of the short story collection out next summer is...

I swear to god, I never thought Harper Collins would agree to this. My first instinct was to call it Tales of the Dead Men, but that wouldn't have been accurate because there'd probably only be one or two stories featuring the Dead Men — not enough to warrant a title.
Harper came back with The World of Skulduggery Pleasant, which is, let's face it, a title far too boring to exist.
I suggested Armageddon-Outta-Here as a joke, expecting everyone to dismiss it. But the more I thought about it, the more I said it in my head, the more I loved it. And suddenly I became determined to be the writer who has a book with THAT title.
Amusingly, Harper Collins agreed. And I couldn't be happier.
And if that wasn't awesome enough, we should actually have a cover reveal early next month for you to gawp at. Could I BE any nicer to you?

Damn. I was biting my fingernails off, because they were too long, and one of them stuck to my finger (you know, I bit it off, tried to dispose of it and it stuck to my finger), and I think it's gone under the spacebar on the keyboard. -_-
My brother's school have got them on this crappy music-making program and my brother's really into it. He's made a few sensible ones (his words), and then he's just making loads of rock compositions. XD Go him!
Some of it sounds terrible, but I'm blaming most of that on the program. :P Like, he has this thing were you have all these guitar notes smashing together and it sounds terrible, but he likes how one starts and then the next on starts a bit after it and the next one a bit after, like in rounds . . . and yeah. And he's annoyed how you can't make the notes lower or higher . . . yeah.

And it's my friend's birthday today!!! My other friend made her a cake, and brought it to school, and she was even prepared enough to bring a knife to cut it, and my birthday friend was like "Argh, don't give me a knife! I don't want to get arrested!" and so my cake friend just got a plastic knife (from the school lunch hall. We were eating the cake in the lunch hall after we'd had our lunches. We also sang happy birthday to her. But embarrassing, you know. XD), and then we were all "Why've you got a plastic knife? You already had a knife! That won't cut the cake! It's not strong enough!"
*facepalm*
And then my cake friend (that's D, the organised one) was like "Oh, we don't have any plates!" and we were like "Just hand it to people and they can eat it in their hands!
And my birthday friend (yeah, that's B, that zombie-obsessed one) cut it into eighths in the tin. And then we were like "How are we going to serve this?"
And D and B started lifting it out of the tin and C (that's the one with the story) was like "Why didn't you do that BEFORE you cut it?"
And it was a very nice cake. :) It was really nicely iced, and all. Had loads of writing and stuff on in different colours. It didn't have anything in the middle because she hadn't had any jam, but it actually tasted really nice without anything in the middle. :) I should tell my brother to make a cake with nothing in the middle. You have to have icing on top though, with it.
And yeah. :)
You know, I just adore when my friends do something fun and it sort of fails in many ways and we're just like "Wha're you doin' with your life?" and it's just so hilarious and fun. :)
I mean, if that cake had been perfect in every way and we'd eaten it with no "What the hell are we doing?"ness at all, it would not have been nearly as enjoyable. :)

I've been reading Skulduggery Pleasant since the first book launched, but I never really followed the blog or bothered with the website. All I knew of Derek Landy was that he was Irish, was part of film production, and the only means of direct communication I had with him were the book dedication section and the book itself.
However, I'm getting scared now. Book 9 is coming out next year. The series is coming to an end. And so I've started to engage more with Landy - especially through this blog and Twitter.
And all this is leading up to me meeting him, and hopefully he'll sign all my stuff!

I can understand why people would hate him. After all, all the deaths and torture are on his head. But he made Darquesse, and she used to make me so happy! In book 6 and 7, she was amazing, and the run-up to her in books 4 and 5 were great too!
However, the downside is that now we permanently lose Valkyrie, and the bond between her and Skulduggery Pleasant. So as much as I love Darquesse, I would prefer Valkyrie to be back.
And the ending to LSoDM... It's like there's no good choices. Kill Darquesse/Valkyrie. Sacrifice himself. Both main characters dead. Will that happen? Probably not. Derek Landy is a man of torture. Just look at what happened to Tanith. And what will Landy do to her?

And I am so very confused why there are little to no male fans of Skulduggery Pleasant. Probably the only guy I know who likes SP is Derek Landy himself.
By the way, sorry for confusing you. It's just that I feel isolated as a fan of Skulduggery Pleasant because most fans seem to be female.

O_O I don't know whether he's left or right handed either), and he invades me mind so is technically a part of me (there's a song called A Part of Me. "You wanna part of me? Don't ask me for specifics.
But it's interesting, how I spell things. When I'm writing in Ez's perspective I use American spellings (if I remember. I'm pretty sure I still spell grey like grey, rather than gray), and when I'm writing from Hunter's perspective I use English spellings (because they have mad unpronounced vowels and it's different and awesome. Plus it's easier for me. :P), except he spells words with 'z's when the American spelling has a 'z', because 'z' is the awesomest letter of the alphabet. :)
. . . Unless I forget, obviously. I think, me automatically spelling things the English way, I usually forget. :P

The reason it is mostly girls on here is because girls tend to be very emotional and lonely and OMG FEEEEEEEELS so we feel the need to conglomerate together and form these strong friendships and attachments because fandom is like family.

Tia, ME is like my favourite game series I've ever played. I first bought ME3... like ages ago, and played it and really liked it. So then I got ME2, and played that and then linked it to ME3 and played ME3 again.
BUT then I got ME1, which I didn't realise I could until a few weeks ago on the PlayStation Store. So now I'm playing them all again.
Not like I'll change anything in ME2 or ME3, though being able to save the Geth as well as the Quarians might be something I'll go for.
Imo, nothing can compare to the ME games. I don't like GTA V, Assassin's Creed Black Flag is GOOD, but not as good as ME. *nods*

@Dragona started the adventure with ME2, favourite and it's my favourite. As for GTA V, I enjoyed it, but I probably won't come back to it in years. I really enjoyed it though, just can't play too much of it I guess.
I don't play all that much any more, with sixth form starting and all.
@Tia: Well, it depends on the sand. Sand is essentially small bits of rock. Compared to massive massive rocks, like plante-sized ones, you could say a mountain is a grain of sand. I'm not as big as a mountain. Unless it was a small mountain. But not that small. I don't know, though. To a bacteria, what I would consider small would be huge.
Ez: I don't think bacteria think about things like that.

ME2 WAS good. But I prefer ME3. Loads of people disliked the ending but tbh I had no complaints about it, especially with the Extended Cut.
On the suicide mission on ME2, I had to play through it twice. The first time, Tali got shot in the face (well, helmet), so I restarted. Then everything went fine, except for when we were going back to the ship Miranda was just dead for some reason. So I went, "meh who cares" and stayed with that ending.
GTA V was a good game... but it just felt a little lifeless. The singleplayer missions were horrible, and once you've driven a BMX of a skyscraper there's nothing much else you can do.
I too am at college, but I DO make time for Mass Effect. I get to leave at 11:05 every single Wednesday so it's named "Mass Effect Wednesday".
Isn't true unless it is. I'll keep that in mind.
