161,556 words. That's how long the book is right now. I wanted to have the edit done by tonight, but unfortunately that's not going to happen. I'm up at 6 in the morning to catch a plane to Leeds, so I'm about to hit the sack.
Oh, and for those of you who were pleading with me to keep LSODM as long as possible... you've got your wish. My editor Nick and my agent Michelle both got back to me, suggesting tiny changes here and there, but nothing that would shorten the book.
So the HUGE amount of characters stay in. The MASSIVE battles stay in. The HILARIOUS jokes and LIGHTNING-FAST wit stay in. Verily, it is a good day to be a Minion.
And I've just been chatting to Laura, who calls it the "deepest and darkest one yet". So I've got her all-important seal of approval, which makes me happy.
When it's out, when you've read it, I'll talk more about the writing of it, and the various problems I had to deal with in order to make it work. Everything from Book Two onwards has been leading up to LSODM, after all. Of all the books, this is the one I was certain about from the very beginning, in 2005, but it was one I was the most unsure about when I was actually writing it. So it comes as a relief to know it's actually good.
So... tomorrow I'm in Leeds— the tickets to which are now sold out— and on Saturday I'm signing in Waterstones in York at 11AM— and no tickets needed.
I'm been really quiet lately, on the Blog and on Twitter, and I do apologise for that, but I had to devote all my attention to the book. Now that it's (practically) done, I can get back to normal. Which'll be... er... nice.

I also fimd it kind of offensive. Most of my best friends are down here. Would you like it if someone came along and treated your best friends like they were dirt?Do you think you'd feel more or less bad if they actually were dort? Well, if it was RP... I don't really know how the RP works, but I'd say if it could potentially mean people get hurt, then maybe just take care, in that sense, to avoid hurting.

So, if that IS/could become a problem, maybe just reminding yourself and/or others that it is still roleplaying, every so often? Idk. I wouldn't call it selfish, in any case.
And, I guess there's vulnerability, in that sense, in that it's harder to protect her. But I guess she'll also see people here /stopping/ others from harming themselves, and keeping each other happy or simply just company, I guess. So, while maybe she becomes more vulnerable to certain things, but can also see the good that goes on, and learn that good, so she can use it in the future, to help others with wisdom and awesomeness, just as you do?
Blogland is so full of caring-ness and friendliness and helpfull-ness and just general awesomenosity, that it's hard to pick it up while you're here, I guess. :)

Okay, fine, here it is without umbrellas:
So yesterday Trip and Mycroft had an argument, then they started arguing again later and began stabbing each other, so Ember took Mycroft's soul out of his body and placed it into hers. Meanwhile, Em was being attacked by shadows, and she almost died.

THEN, today, Ember tried to help Em. Trip got upset because he felt like he was responsible for Em's death (we thought Em was dead) and attacked Ember.
Then, Ember started attacking him back, Maralie teleporting inside and finding out that Em was actually alive after all. Ember ran away (I h☂d to go h☂ve lunch XP) and then these guys started debating about who was right or wrong or if we were really pretending.

Talking: Emotional alchemy is a skill tree of channeling. It is based on the concept of placing your emotions in the soul energy to change it's properties, hatred makes it more dangerous, happiness makes it better for interacting with fragile things and on to infinity, with each emotion having it's own affects. You can then mix these to create all kinds of wonders.
But it is in no way linked to your physical alchemy Adra. Put simply, you can't mix them.
