161,556 words. That's how long the book is right now. I wanted to have the edit done by tonight, but unfortunately that's not going to happen. I'm up at 6 in the morning to catch a plane to Leeds, so I'm about to hit the sack.
Oh, and for those of you who were pleading with me to keep LSODM as long as possible... you've got your wish. My editor Nick and my agent Michelle both got back to me, suggesting tiny changes here and there, but nothing that would shorten the book.
So the HUGE amount of characters stay in. The MASSIVE battles stay in. The HILARIOUS jokes and LIGHTNING-FAST wit stay in. Verily, it is a good day to be a Minion.
And I've just been chatting to Laura, who calls it the "deepest and darkest one yet". So I've got her all-important seal of approval, which makes me happy.
When it's out, when you've read it, I'll talk more about the writing of it, and the various problems I had to deal with in order to make it work. Everything from Book Two onwards has been leading up to LSODM, after all. Of all the books, this is the one I was certain about from the very beginning, in 2005, but it was one I was the most unsure about when I was actually writing it. So it comes as a relief to know it's actually good.
So... tomorrow I'm in Leeds— the tickets to which are now sold out— and on Saturday I'm signing in Waterstones in York at 11AM— and no tickets needed.
I'm been really quiet lately, on the Blog and on Twitter, and I do apologise for that, but I had to devote all my attention to the book. Now that it's (practically) done, I can get back to normal. Which'll be... er... nice.
I guess...

YOu know how we're reading Of Mice And Men in school? You know how because of theri accents they can miss out or differnetly structure words? Well, when I read it, I often read it in normal English, so I write the quotes down wrongly but in more correct English. Then I notice later that this word is actually here or this word is missing and I'm like DAMMIT. XD
Once Ivy typed out this sentence from SP to point out how that sentence had a typo in it in the book, and I read it and was like what I couldn't see a typo, then I looked at the words carefully and noticed only then that one was missing that shouldn't be. :/

first- Black/ grey and red, with a silver barbed vine/wire wrapped around it.
second- Based on a purple nebula has 3 silver stars on the tip, and a silver star hangs off the end of her tail.
third- Steampunk.
Body- Colours are most likely gonna be Purple, black, green, and dark blue. Has a tattoo of an S with swirls off it, in gold and silver.
Paws- Black pads and green claws. Except the front right which is green with black claws.
Neck- She has Two necklaces, One a black chord with 2 feathers~ one purple and the other blue. The other is A silver chain with yin-yang. She also has a pair of Heaphones with a Yin-Yang on them.
Legs- She has 3 toe-less socks that are black and green stripped. The only foot without a sock is the Front left. On her front left she has a gold and silver snake bracelet. And on her back Right leg she has a charm bracelet (Yin-yang, Wing, Claw, Heart, Rose, Crystal)

Vocaloid is this singing thingy you get for your computer, where you can write your own lyrics and get the computer to sing it as if it was in real like. Luka, along with Miku, Rin, Len, and others are some of the Vocaloids (the singing voices) that came with the program, and they were designed by the company who produced the Vocaloid.

I once dressed as a Dalek for the school book parade. Now that I look back on it, some 5 or so years ago, it was a fairly good costume. It had a plunger, and an egg wisk, and half styrofoam balls, and a bin lid with plastic cups on top.

Well, thank you. I know I've been able to do some stuff for Death, and that's great (I really don't know what I'd do if she just... No.) and I'm glad I've been able to inspire you. It's just, so many people... Sometimes just being there to listen is good enough, and sometimes even talking/doing things can help a little, but a vast majority of the time I basically just invite people to cry on my shoulder and then they do and then there's nothing I can do to make them feel any better at all, and then I become panicked and distressed because I don't want them to be panicked and distressed, but I can't dump all of that on them either... It's like a bad cycle... I'm sorry, I don't even remember where I was going with this anymore...
