Hello, if anyone is here. The times projected on this blog are vastly different from the time in the location where I currently reside, so it's difficult for me to gauge the attendance here without inquiring specifically.
I suppose I'll be going, then, seeing as no one else is here, but I've had time to change my profile picture, so I guess this was productive. Fear, the great mind-killer. It's always been my personal favorite tool for torture. There are so many flawed emotions- they all have so many holes- but fear is a thing of beauty. It comes without its victim expending any effort whatsoever, and once it's begun it never really goes away. It is impossible to run away from, completely agonizing, and just as pure- therefore, just as strong- as love, though people tend to experience the latter for much greater lengths of time.
A bit awkward for you two, jasonmilne and Alastair, at the new post with the new cover was posted. Don't really know why I'm here though.

Speaking of Mass Effect, I've started doing a fanfic of it. I felt like starting a new series but I think fanfic is my thing until I become better as a writer. I wanted a universe where anything is possible and I don't have to follow the same story as what the book/film/game was.
Then I played Mass Effect. And it all fitted together. In the Mass Effect universe (well, Galaxy), literally anything is possible and you can have the entire future or past or present to set a story in and LOADS of different planets.
I haven't actually posted anything yet, and if anyone is interested in some giant synthetic organisms called Reapers trying to wipe out all organic life in the galaxy, then the link is:

For some reason I've played Mass Effect 3 for a total of 30 hours and I'm still not bored. It's either a very good game or I'm just weird.

And if you don't know what Mass Effect is, it's a video game trilogy set in the future. It's very cool, lots of aliens (including some random green crab-things), a whole galaxy to explore and lots of things to do.
The idea of the games is that there are Reapers, a kind of robotic-squid-like-things which are wanting to wipe out all organic life in a thing called a 'cycle'. They believe that advanced civilisations will create synthetic (robotic) things to make their lives better, but the robotic things will evolve and rise against their creators. So the Reapers want to stop it happening by wiping out the organics that create the synthetics and keeping a natural balance which helps the smaller and less advanced civilisations to advance.
And you have to try and stop them. Which isn't the easiest thing. And you can choose what your character looks like, what his/her powers are, how he/she acts etc and you can change the outcome of the game with every decision you make.
Wow that was long... there are other things in the game such as a pro-humanist group called Cerberus who want humans to be the most dominant race in the galaxy and who are incredibly fun to rip apart at a molecular level using mass effect fields (a kind of dark energy that can be controlled by Element Zero implants), but are also fun to shoot, throw backwards and generally annoy. :)

The worst thing about the game (well it's not a bad thing, just a little weird) are the Husks. Husks are part of the Reaper invasion force. They are created using the bodies of their enemies. They get corpses (or alive people - any way is possible) then fuse their flesh with synthetic substances (robotics, basically) and make you a kind of grey robot-organic hybrid. In other words you turn into a weird robot zombie. They are extremely common when fighting the Reapers and I just find them weird.
But that doesn't stop me using my pistol.
