I'm here again. Yay! I think... I have to get through the first part of my story because it's all about this perfect world, but the problem is I can't just give the characters a timeline for it because they don't have a concept of time, and I can't just keep writing about this world because there are absolutely no problems, and that's just boring! Help...
Hm, sounds tricky. The first thing that comes to mind, to me, is no problems being a problem, if that helps at all?
Or, of you want to give a look at the characters, maybe just have an introductory chapter where you can get to know them and/or the world a little, without directly explaining it all. Kinda?
Yeah... Thanks... No problems is the problem- that's the whole point of the story, actually- and I've already given a chapter introducing the main characters, their idea, and why imperfection is the goal. The problem is how to transition to the part where the story actually gets interesting, because these people have no concept of time, and since their world has no problems it's boring, and I have have to move away from it quickly so I don't have boring start to the book...
Nobody can feel anything but happiness for any longer than, like, 3 seconds... See, this is only frustrating because I made it that way, but I have to stay within the limits of the perfect world, and it just isn't working... Grrr... Thanks for all the suggestions, anyway. Niccolo keeps offering to write it, and if it's told from his perspective he'll be able to skip around as much as he wants, but I'm not sure whether or not I want to do that, and if I do I'll need to go back and change everything I've written...
Taia, the story starts out on another world, and it's perfect, and the whole concept of 'new' doesn't exist (new ideas, inventions, etc.) because nobody needs anything new. And everybody is just happy all the time, and they just do whatever they want. The plot comes in when this one girl wants to create a whole other planet that's the antithesis of her own, and she comes up with new people called humans who can feel pain and suffering just as much as happiness, and creates a planet for them called Earth, but it ends up destroying her own planet.
@Aretha: I hope you get the hang of it eventually, it sounds like it'll be awesome, if you can figure it out, within those limits. :) "Limitations, I think, can often lead themselves into innovation" :)
Oh, wow, Aretha. It sounds really brilliant. ^^ Maybe include something that triggers her idea of building this alternate world, then? Or that actually sets in into action?

WBD. Just looked at something I wrote on some paper a little while ago, and it gave me an idea... Kind of. I don't know. I feel the need to brainstorm, though. So maybe I'll have an idea, by the end of it. :P

OH MY GOSH, I MUST TAKE PICTURES OF MY RUBBER.
Well, it's a large rubber. It is a rectangle that is striped five colours. It used to say PGL on it, because my mum got it when she went to a PGL place with work, but then the PGL part came off. I wordarted DISTURBED on one side of it, and then I tried to wordart AVENGED SEVENFOLD on the other side, and it ooked awesome, as my wordart does (WOOOOOOOOOH!), but after a week (yes, it took a WEEK for me to realise. This is the problem with making your wordart mostly irreadable), I noticed I'd put an extra E in it, so it kind of said EAVENGEDSEVENFOLD. Whoops. :P
You know what, Luce? This is low. I don't care what your intentions are but I think you aren't helping at all, and threatening to leave the blog to make a point? granyed, I'm sick of people blaming just the RPers, as much as you're sick of people RPing. but that's just manipulation, and a part of you wants to leave because a part of you wants to do it. You want to see things fixed? Then quit complaining and calling people names and maybe think of ideas for the two "sides" to coexist. Because a lot of people are just standing by, waiting, because I'm sure they want all or nothing. So call me a liar, because your rude words really have no effect on me. No one told the talkers to lay on the sidelines and screw themselves, The RPers have been willing to talk this whole time because we can and will participate, but a lot of people have just refused to talk. Do you want to know something? I'm sure you don't but you can read anyway. When I first came here, everything was RP. There were blog fights everywhere and people having fun, and laughing and enjoying themselves. That's the blog I fell on love with, and there is no way I want it to leave for good because we CAN come to a compromise, if everyone is just willing to work.
And I'm sorry if I don't talk to the people talking all the time, because a lot of the talks are about things I don't really know about, or things I don't particularly like. Which is fine by me, and I'll pipe in some times, but I don't have to give my undivided attention to something I don't care about. Doesn't mean that I don't mind it.
I just feel like... Well, the RPers have no issues with the talkers. It's okay to talk. We do it as well. But the talkers either want us to a.) calm down - which we have if you haven't noticed- or b.) leave permanently. And a lot of people are leaving because we refuse to leave.
I don't know. This is only a theory, because no one has emailed me or talked to me. So this is what I see, so don't accuse me of being ignorant, because so far, you're the one who has been using words with me.

She even told me once that she was doing it in a friendly way so I'd know and wouldn't get upset over it, and I was like OMGG you're awesome. :)

OH MY GOSH, I MUST TAKE PICTURES OF MY RUBBER.
Well, it's a large rubber. It is a rectangle that is striped five colours. It used to say PGL on it, because my mum got it when she went to a PGL place with work, but then the PGL part came off. I wordarted DISTURBED on one side of it, and then I tried to wordart AVENGED SEVENFOLD on the other side, and it ooked awesome, as my wordart does (WOOOOOOOOOH!), but after a week (yes, it took a WEEK for me to realise. This is the problem with making your wordart mostly irreadable), I noticed I'd put an extra E in it, so it kind of said EAVENGEDSEVENFOLD.
Whoops. :P

You want to see things fixed? Then quit complaining and calling people names and maybe think of ideas for the two "sides" to coexist. When I first came here, everything was RP. There were blog fights everywhere and people having fun, and laughing and enjoying themselves. That's the blog I fell on love with, and there is no way I want it to leave for good because we CAN come to a compromise, if everyone is just willing to work.
And I'm sorry if I don't talk to the people talking all the time, because a lot of the talks are about things I don't really know about, or things I don't particularly like. Which is fine by me, and I'll pipe in some times, but I don't have to give my undivided attention to something I don't care about. Doesn't mean that I don't mind it.
I just feel like... Well, the RPers have no issues with the talkers. It's okay to talk. We do it as well. But the talkers either want us to a.) calm down - which we have if you haven't noticed- or b.) leave permanently. And a lot of people are leaving because we refuse to leave.
I don't know. This is only a theory, because no one has emailed me or talked to me. So this is what I see, so don't accuse me of being ignorant, because so far, you're the one who has been using words with me.
