Just to let you know that World Book Day is this Thursday (well, it is in this part of the world, anyway) and to celebrate Alex Barclay and myself will be holding two events. The first, in Kildare, is pretty much sold out, but the second one is in Easons in O'Connell Street, Dublin, at 6 PM. We'll be there, talking about... stuff... and books... and writing... and, er... annnnnyway...
Because this is somewhat last minute, I'm not expecting that many people to turn up to the Dublin event, which means it'll be a lot more casual and chatty than usual. If you're interested, get in touch with Easons to reserve a place, and we'll see you there.

Just to give you guys an update on Shell now that we know a little more.
Her back pains are a trapped nerve so she has to do some physio to try and loosen it.
But her chest pains are caused by some of her stitches coming undone by the force of her throwing up.
They are not sure of the damage, she has to go and have x-rays done but it is possible that either later on or tomorrow, she'll need an operation to repair whatever damage is caused.
She'll still awake but really in a lot of pain and she says that she loves you all.
I'll keep you updated.

Hello.
I started playing the Mass Effect map pack today. Despite the initial comedy and flirting from several characters... well I went to a sushi bar. And then some officer came up to me and said someone was trying to kill me. Then they came in, shot everyone in the sushi bar, and tried to kill me.
I shot several of them and then I ended up falling through a fish tank on the floor and rolling down the side of a building and yeah.
Right so the doctors have said that she won't need a major operation. Just one that will allow them to close up the damage but won't leave a lot of after effects or scarring.
She'll be awake for it and hopefully will only take about 2 hours at the most. And they might be able to do it today.
